* Sometime prior to ''The Mystery of Tally-Ho Cottage'', the Hilton's gardener got into a proper tantrum with the cook for picking the parsley "without so much as a by-your-leaf!" Fatty thoroughly enjoys the show and recreates it for the others, much to the amusement of the cook who even lends him her apron for effect. In-story, she bribes the Find-Outers with gingerbread to get Fatty to do it again, leaving the apron out in advance. The gardener, on the other hand, has no idea why Pip gives him a very large piece of gingerbread "as a thank-you".

* Recurring SixthRanger Ern's attempts at poetry (or, as he calls them, 'pomes'). They all start off highly morbid ('the poor old X' is a frequent title), but Ern inevitably gets stuck two or three lines in. He then shares them with the Five, and Fatty inevitably says, "But the ending's obvious!" and improvises a funny continuation on the spot.

* In ''The Mystery of the Strange Bundle'', Fatty learns ventriloquism. He promptly uses it to {{Troll}} Mr. Goon by pretending a recently-burgled house is inhabited by a dog, a pig, and a man calling for his auntie. HilarityEnsues.
