The fact that, at the time of meeting them, [[LethalJokeCharacter they're actually a threat]] doesn't hurt the humor value any, and it becomes more hilarious when you get strong enough to one-shot these encounters (apparently Ness just realized he could step on them).
* The very fact you can dig around in garbage cans and eat food straight out of them.
* The Brick Road dungeon, and later Dungeon Man, for their constant lampshade hanging.
* The NPC in the Chaos Theater who tells you he farted.
* In Threed, after obtaining the Jar of Fly Honey, Apple Kid will call you that he had a pizza delivery man deliver "Zombie Paper" to you. Believing Apple Kid to be a weirdo, the pizza delivery man decides to give the Zombie Paper to some random kid and pretend they're Ness...but he doesn't realize the kid he chose actually is Ness.
* Some of the quotes are worth a good laugh:
