* Touta's Magia Erebea seems like an AssPull because he gains a large amount of power with virtually none of the drawbacks Negi had. But all those drawbacks came from Negi being purely human; as a vampire, Touta does not have those weaknesses. He also isn't constantly absorbing High Ancient-level magic every five minutes, and doesn't have Negi's major psychological hangups, so it shouldn't go out of control and turn him into a ravening monster as easily.
** Jossed, if anything, Touta's is more prone to the corrupting effects, as seen in his fight with the mercs, due to be a failed clone of Negi, which makes it less of an AssPull as well.

He also isn't constantly absorbing High Ancient-level magic every five minutes, and doesn't have Negi's major psychological hangups, so it shouldn't go out of control and turn him into a ravening monster as easily.

* At first Touta's Magia Erebea seems like an AssPull because he gains a large amount of strength for virtually none of the drawbacks Negi received; until you realize that all those drawbacks came from Negi being purely human with a special connection to Dark Magic that made it grow and spread quicker, as a Vampire, Touta does not receive those weaknesses, and without him constantly absorbing High Ancient attack spells, he is less likely to become a raving monster like Negi was when he overdid it. Also he lacks the major psychological hangups that made Negi's Magia Erebea so difficult to control, and as such he shows better control of it almost immediately.
