* If you look carefully in the shipwreck area, Lara finds some children's toys and their father's wallet lying around. Lara herself even asks herself what must have happened to them. Given how brutal the Solarii Brotherhood are, it's not hard to imagine this innocent family must have suffered a very gruesome fate. The father can actually be discovered as one of the insane prisoners trapped in the Sulphur Mines. Apparently, the Solarii took his two little girls and murdered them [[AdultFear right in front of him]].

* Traditional Japanese kimono and older Chinese [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanfu hanfu]] is typically worn where the left side covers the right side. About the only time where the clothing is worn right-over-left is for funerary situations, or to indicate a character is dead (be it symbolically or literally). [[spoiler: [[https://tombraider.fandom.com/wiki/Hoshi Hoshi]], the last host body to Himiko, wears her clothing in left-over-right, indicating her being "alive." Contrast that to Himiko wearing right-over-left in both her [[https://tombraider.fandom.com/wiki/Himiko_(Survivor_Timeline) concept art and in-game portrayal]], showing her constantly escaping "death."]]

* Sam appearing in a new dress for the [[spoiler:transfer ritual]]. Even if they couldn't rape or physically assault her [[spoiler:as Himiko would likely take great offense at her new body being hurt in any way]], the idea of the violent, deranged Solarii forcibly undressing and redressing her was probably quite traumatizing and dehumanizing no matter how "gentle" they were.

** Fortunately, according to dialog in the sequel, Trinity exterminated them.

** A more likely explanation is that Himiko doesn't have fine control over the storms. She can direct them in a general area (e.g. to take down a plane or ship), but it's unlikely she can control where lightning hits or how a piece of wood blown by the wind will move. It's mentioned that the storms are due to her "rage" after all. So Himiko was likely just directing the storm at Lara, and the results involved a large degree of chance.
