* Many people may find it odd that the grenade that sets off the bundle on Leon to kill Stansfield waited until after Leon finished his last words after handing Stansfield the safety pin. What people forget us that as long as the safety lever remained pressed down, you can pull the safety pin out and not have to worry right away about it detonating. The grenades were under Leon's vest, which may have been a tight fit, meaning that Stansfield opened the vest, it disengaged the safety lever on the grenade that Leon pulled the pin out of. Essentially, the vest Leon was wearing was keeping Stansfield alive and when he stupidly opened it to see where the pin came from, he sealed his own doom.

* Malky says Willi Blood's name when Mathilda hears him mention her brother's killing. She later ''sees'' in the DEA building whom the other cops call Blood, and that Léon shoots him. Either she connects all the dots (which is rather FridgeBrilliance) or she fails to do so and spends her life with angry thoughts that their wrongdoer remained unpunished (FridgeHorror).

* When Stansfield visits Tony and interrogates him for information on Leon, it's established that he used Tony in the past to hire contract killers. Léon was Tony's top hitman, and his "clients" were primarily drug dealers. Given all this, one suspects that, through Tony, a lot of Léon's jobs were, unbeknownst to him, actually jobs being carried out for Stansfield.

* Léon is watching the hallway when the DirtyCops tell the old lady that they are from the police/DEA. So Léon knows that they might be DirtyCops, and probably convinces Mathilda off-screen to distrust the police and to not answer the door when the arriving police does the usual interrogation of neighbors/witnesses.

This entry admits that it's not clear. It would only be Fridge Brilliance if the film makes it clear.

This isn't fridge brilliance. It's surface-level that Leon kills the people involved in the murder of Mathilda's family.

* When Mathilda tries to kill Stansfield by herself, she does succeed in that Léon kills her brother's killer while rescuing her.

This isn't Fridge Brilliance. It's just possible explanations for plot details.

* Five thugs survive the first shootout, but Mathilda offers Léon money to kill only four. There are several possible explanations:
** Léon sees only four of the thugs leave Mathilda's apartment and despite being a professional doesn't realize that Willi Blood stays inside upon Stansfield's request.
** Mathilda sees Malky scold Willi Blood for killing her brother. She knows that there are five thugs and wants to spare Malky. This is probably the wrong explanation because Léon does kill Malky.
* Léon says "no women, no kids" as he kills Malky. Yet, Malky scolded Willi Blood for killing a little kid, tried to stop Stansfield's rampage, and to convince Mathilda's father to find a more peaceful solution. With the philosophy "no women, no kids" that Mathilda tried to teach Léon to act out more consistently (by burning the drugs), Léon should have killed Malky last or not at all. Instead, Léon kills Malky first, unleashing Stansfield's revenge upon himself (without Malky to calm down Stansfield). On the other hand, Malky's death is perfectly timed to stop Stansfield from killing Mathilda.
