** Some galaxies have music that fit the galaxy's setting: for example, Flipsville and Chompworks have disco music in a dollhouse-themed music, Melty Monster Galaxy's music wouldn't sound out of place from ''{{WesternAnimation/Mulan}}'', serving as a TrainingMontage before the final Bowser battle, and the Green Star theme is played in the Earth-themed world map.

* In Cosmic Cove Galaxy, the first mission requires the player to wall jump up a set of dual waterfalls to reach the star on top. You'd think the Ice Flower from [[VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy the first game]] would show up in this scenario, right? Wrong! It's not in this game. Instead, you're forced to press a switch which freezes the entire surface of the water. Doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with that, except there were penguins swimming under the surface at the time you did this. So [[SarcasmMode congratulations!]] [[WhatTheHellHero You just doomed those poor penguins to drown!]]

** [[NightmareRetardant It's less horrific than you think]]. The gentle pull is never really used as a literal force, and is more of a metaphorical one. Simply put, Mario and his friends desire to protect one another is so strong that somehow, they will ''always'' accomplish it. It most likely has to do with their Star Child status.

* It's more implied than anything, but there's this cosmic force called the Gentle Pull that seemingly manipulates fate so that Mario succeeds against Bowser. It's a testament to just how truly powerful and terrifying Bowser is that the very forces of fate and destiny itself go out of it's way to conspire against him, and how essential his defeat is that it constantly makes it so Mario succeeds.

** Nevertheless, as Bowser Jr. is seen in other ''Mario'' games, it's safe to assume that he escaped the black hole or found a way to escape such a fate. Neither Nintendo would kill popular characters offscreen in such a way.

This game is the events of ''VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy'' happening again in the new universe.]]
