** Where did he come from? Was he created in a laboratory? Or was he a normal O-Town citizen who got his DNA fused with fruitcake in a freak accident? The latter may be more likely, since you expect a man-made Fruitcake Man to be a lot more eager to be eaten, and a lot more pain-resistant.
