* If you press the L button, Lan and [=MegaMan=] will talk to each other. In the latter's case, [[BreakingTheFourthWall he'll face you when doing this]]. This is because your console (the Platform/GameBoyAdvance for instance) ''is'' Lan's PET and he's essentially seeing what [=MegaMan=] is doing on the PET's screen.

*** Which gets contradicted as soon as the second game when Lan blames Mega for having their chips robbed and angrily leaves the Netopia hotel. When he comes back to make amends with Mega, a thief stole Lan's passport from his [=PET=] and attacks Mega with viruses who sustains some damage while fighting them. Lan doesn't feel any pain. Then the end has Lan suffer radiation poisoning while Mega isn't affected. Then at the end of 3 when Mega kills himself to save Lan from Alpha which the Hub.bat would've rendered Mega's sacrifice pointless. The biggest moments are in 5 and 6 when Mega is corrupted by a dark chip and absorbs the Cybeast respectively which cause him immense pain while Lan is only affected emotionally, not physically or mentally.
!! Fridge Logic
* In the first game, the WWW members have their own metroline allowing them to sneak into ACDC, however, the metroline is hidden underneath the school's statue/fountain which is behind the school gate, but when Higsby first arrives, he's standing outside of the school gates.
** He arrived earlier and acted as if he arrived via the normal metro to avoid any suspicion.
* In BN4, Higsby is aware that Dark Chips are evil and tells Lan to get rid of it, but in BN5, a couple of Dark Chips are obtained through the Number Trader.
** The Dark Chips in the Number Trader probably got there due to being in circulation with plenty of Battle Chips. After all, there are some people or Navis who sell Dark Chips or trade with them, despite the danger. Either that, or Higsby's assistant was negligent in taking inventory. She does attend the store for Higsby when he's doing errands or when he's with the Anti-Nebula Team in Team Colonel.
* When fighting [=PlanetMan=] his entire field is made of holes (except for the one he's standing on) for his planets to circle around him. However, [=PlanetMan=]'s Navi Chip requires solid panels for the planets.
* In Network Transmission, the Professor unleashes an army of navis on you created from data he had Zero collect. One of those navis is [=ColorMan=] even though he wasn't infected by the Zero Virus, hacked by the fake vaccine, or working for the Professor like [=StarMan=].
** Colorman wasn't infected ''before fighting the infected Megaman,'' you mean.
* In the later games, where Lan's PET is wireless and uses infrared rays, why does he still have to be next to a jack-in port if he should be able access it from further away? While outdoor ports can be justified due to sunlight interfering with infrared, there's nothing excusing indoor ports. It's more jarring in the fifth game where a thief can steal a program from outside a room, establishing the effective range of the infrared signals.
** It's obviously much easier to aim the infrared ports at each other while standing right next to the device with said port.

** Princess Pride (and [=KnightMan.EXE=] following her orders) were working for Gospel in ''BN2'', but joined Lan and Team Colonel in ''BN5''. Creamland likely recovered economically between the events of ''BN2'' and ''BN5'' helping her to mellow out a lot and no longer need to join terrorist groups out of desperation.

* It is explicitly stated that darkloids can recover from even full deletion through DarkPower. However, Laser Man never recovers between the events of 4 and 5, instead being replaced by Cosmo Man. There are perhaps two different explanations for this:
** 1) Cosmo Man is a direct upgrade to Laser Man.
** 2) Bring deleted in the network of an asteroid far from Earth’s that is inhabited by an avatar of a power opposed to darkness prevented his essence from returning.

* By ''Battle Network 6'', the amount of options you have and the number of abusable chips at your disposable combined with Beast Out forms breaks the game in half. But it also fits in well with what the series is at this point: a pair of ExperiencedProtagonist heroes who have gone through so much that [=MegaMan=] can effectively max out his capabilities that already border on PhysicalGod. While the inevitable BagOfSpilling occurs, [=MegaMan=] has arguably only been getting stronger and stronger as TechnologyMarchesOn, so it's no wonder the player can all but ''play'' the StoryBreakerPower at this point with a little work.

* In the first game the design of the internet is heavily disliked. There are no real landmarks or directions or even design, so it feels like a large aimless labyrinth. While likely not intended, it does do a good job of representing what the internet was like during the time this game was made in 2001. The vast majority of big popular websites we have today (Youtube, Twitch, TV Tropes) were not around at the time. Instead there were many more fan pages and small websites/forums scattered about. At the time it did feel like wondering around in a confusing maze.

** Incorrect, due to Full Synchro. When Hub.bat is patched into [=MegaMan=] at the end of the first game, Lan is warned that they'll feel each other's pain, one getting hurt will hurt the other. If so, then when Lan dies, [=MegaMan=] will be deleted as well. That's why he's not still around in Star Force.

** There's also the element ghat they are making cheap enhancements to old tech. For example, in Battle Network 3, que a hotel has outfitted an older model TV with a jack-in port that requires you to jack-in to pay for channels while you're staying there. It's basically like adding in a card reader to a vending machine.

* The scene in 3 when Bubble Man is able to escape Mega Man by jumping over Mayl's security cube. How is he able to bypass the security cube without the corresponding passcode? He is a [=WWW=] navi without an operator, which means he was most likely created by Wily. As someone who hates Net Society, it makes sense Wily would program a hacking ability into Bubble Man.

* In 6, Dr. Hikari is wrongfully arrested for hacking the Judge Tree and subject to 100 hours in prison and electric zapping. He's only proven innocent when a Cyber Academy's security bot films him working in the classroom the same time Judge Tree was hacked. If not for Mick's troublemaking tendencies, Dr. Hikari would've had a criminal record for the rest of his life.
* This version of Mega Man's origin as Hub dying of a heart condition as an infant and reborn as a net navi and outlived by twin brother Lan who wasn't aware for 11 years. The roles will eventually be reversed as Lan will eventually die of old age while Hub will now be the surviving twin. He might not live forever, but he will spend a long time without Lan.

* Lan had a big of an ego in the second and third games, but suddenly becomes not only humble and modest, but appeared to lack confidence in later games. This is all part of his character development. After defeating the Life Virus and saving Net Society from Wily, Lan let the incident go to his head, bragging about it in Network Transmission despite Chaud quickly shooting him down, rightfully (if not harshly) pointing out Lan didn't do it alone. Then in the the third game, Mamoru called him a star for his performance in the [=N1=] Grand Prix and is escalated further when he saved the hospital Mamoru is in from a [=WWW=] attack and gets an award ceremony for his heroic deed. As egotistical as it was, it also made Lan confident. Lan has a change in his attitude in the fifth game when he's reluctant to join Team Protoman/Colonel prompting Chaud/Baryl to remind Lan's accomplishments in past games of defeating [=WWW=], Gospel, and Dr. Regal. He also refuses to take over as team leader after the titular navis are kidnapped by Nebula. Why the sudden lack of confidence? Think back to the third game after the hospital hero incident. Mr. Match used Lan's brave heroics to manipulate his ego and trick him into installing dangerous software data that endangered many humans and programs, including Dr. Hikari, his dad. That particular attack taught Lan (whether or not he knows it) your ego is a weapon people can use to manipulate you into doing their dirty work for them and harm innocent people whether real or digital. Lan has still continued to pull heroic deeds but doesn't let them get to his head so as not to accidentally endanger others again.
