* If you look around Prankster's Paradise, you will notice that neither The Coachman nor his Goons are around, but think about it; if you notice The Coachman's Goons, they do look like Heartless, more specifically Pureblood Heartless (being all black and having yellow eyes do help the look). And according to the lore, only Nightmare Dream Eaters are around the sleeping worlds causing darkness, meaning that when the world was eaten by the darkness; all of the Coachman's Goons returned back to the Realm of Darkness, meaning that until the world was restored, they couldn't enter at anyway to aid the Coachman with his schemes.

* The sleeping Worlds in general... it's been said that most of those worlds were in their middle of their own stuff before being swallowed up by the darkness. Then when that darkness got defeated by Sora after the events of KH1, some of these worlds still ended up asleep... and knowing that the events of KH2 happened a year latter, it wouldn't surprised me that those worlds were still trapped.. and no less than repeating the "fragments" of their own stories over and over again!.. and then there's The Grid, which was already in a bad state, but knowing that "Data cannot dream", it would be hard to imagine that they know they're trapped inside of a nightmare, but can't do anything to escape from it (and going to the "outside world" through the portal wouldn't likely be a safe option either). And then there's also the worlds of Country of the Musketeers and Symphony of Sorcery, aka two worlds based on the memories of King mickey. How can you even trap Memories inside a dream?! Or more likely, how could the heartless devoured the heart of Symphony of Sorcery (since Country of the Musketeers is very much it's own world) since it was a part of Mickey's Memories?

* Prankster's Paradise had Sora muse he had experienced what the world was like as it was falling to darkness (Monstro swallowing Jiminy, Pinnochio, and Gepetto, getting them separated, etc etc), and this isn't the only world to do that. Seeing Frollo falling into the darkness and manipulating the Nightmares to destroy the gypsies brings one to imagining a similar scenario, but with Heartless. Unlike this time though, there were no keyblade users to mitigate the damage and the keyhole was discovered and the world lost.

* Given how Vexen, Lexeus, and Zexion were killed in Chain of Memories, and Xaldin and Axel in 2, why did they reappear as humas together after the events of 2? The most obvious answer is that their hearts got stuck in the Kingdom Hearts that the Organization was building up and once it was destroyed their hearts were finally free to reunite with their bodies and restore them to life.

* This game gives Pete a bit more of a resume when Maleficent recruited him: as Mickey was not from the Country of the Musketeers himself than Pete, who was his boss in Timeless River, certainly wasn't. He'd also traveled to another world before, making him a rare asset. This would also explain his roles behind the scenes with aspects like recruitment we'd see of him in other games as opposed to say having Hook do the recruiting.

* The Link System is similar to Sync System in "The World Ends With You". Like with the Link System, players can raise a bar, the Sync Rate by timing attacks with their partner's and when that bar is full at at least 100%, they can perform a combination attack, Fusion. And similar to the Link System, if a player and partner raise another bar, their Syn Rate another 100% to perform a more powerful combination attack. As such, it makes sense why Neku and Beat would use Dream Eaters in place of their partners and state they don't need their Dream Eater after reuniting with them besides necessity because the Dream Eaters play a similar role to their partners, fighting together with them and being able to perform combo attacks with them.

** That would be funny, [[LostInTranslation if only it were true.]] The Japanese term is 異端の印 (''itan no shirushi,''). The kanji for ''itan'' returns "heresy" (dissent or nonconformity, esp. in a religious context) in several databases, which is distinct from "extremism" and much more in line with "recusancy" (''dissent or nonconformity, esp. in a religious context''). ''Shirushi'' refers to a mark, seal, or symbol, so "sigil" works just fine for that.

*** Sora also failed on technicality. The instructions for the exam were to enter the Sleeping Worlds, unlock the seven Keyholes and get back out, obtaining a new power (it wasn't clear whether obtaining said power was a reward for completing the exam or a byproduct of completing it). While Sora made it to all 7 Sleeping Worlds, he only unlocked 6 of 7 Keyholes and he couldn't get out on his own because of Xehanort's interference and got stuck. Riku ended up have to go and rescue him. Riku, on the other hand, managed to complete all three tasks, and therefore completed the exam.

*** Not just that, for all of Sora's experience fighting Darkness he has little experience in dealing with it. The only Dark-affinity move Sora can use is Shadowbreaker, which attacks with both Light AND Dark (Conversely, Shadowbreaker is the only Light-affinity move Riku can use). Sora also generally just blunders into the bad guys latest plan or is lead there by the nose. Notice that he had ''no idea'' the test had been compromised until it was too late. Also he relies heavily on his friends/allies in combat and for emotional support. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but as a result he's not very good at working through negative emotions on his own. On the other hand, Riku has been dealing with Darkness since day one, first as it's pawn and then learning to master the Darkness based abilities that were his consolation prize for breaking free. Riku is explicitly stated to be [[spoiler: immune to it's corrupting effects because he's grown so accustomed to it.]] Riku notably sensed that something was off at the very beginning of the Mark of Mastery Exam, prompting him to [[spoiler: unconsciously turn himself into a Dream Eater]] in an effort to protect Sora. And Riku spent a lot of ''his'' journey alone and had to learn to deal with his own pain and guilt. Sora and Riku had vastly different experiences that affected and prepared them in different ways. And unfortunately, the lessons Sora took from his previous journeys ended up working against him while the lessons Riku learned were able to help him through.

Just noticed it.

* There's a fairly random scene wherein Riku confronts himself in a black coat during Monstro's level. It doesn't fit in and isn't referenced at all throughout the remainder of the plot. There's theorizing that it's Riku confronting his own inner demons but he doesn't ''fight'' the other or really talk to him. But then keep in mind that Riku's lost his body to Ansem in I and was cast out of it only to reappear in the Door to Darkness, as well as he had a replica made thanks to Organization XIII. It's entirely possible that Xehanort ''did'' possess ''a'' Riku, just not the main one.
