* Fisk's is [[spoiler:stuck in a small cell after losing everything, with only a similarly patterned wall that reminds him of the wall he stared at before he murdered his father for abusing his mother. He's going to have plenty of time to stare at the constant reminder of his deep-seated psychological issues. This is will only worsen his mental state and ruthlessness.]]

Added DiffLines:

* Fisk's partners had it wrong when [[spoiler: they thought Vanessa was a distraction that was compromising Fisk emotionally. This was already happening due to his daily nightmares concerning his father and increasing stress from the inhumanity his goals necessitated. The "Rabbit in the Snow" painting he wakes up to each day resembles the wall his father made him stare at, while abusing his mother and ended in Fisk murdering his further. It serves only as a reminder of his past and loneliness, sinking him deeper. The only time this changes is when Fisk wakes up and looks at Vanessa in bed beside him instead of the wall. He becomes much more stable thanks to her and gets on with business without distraction. In fact, her support gives him the stability and focus he needs during the many times his resolve is shaken during the show. Their interference and attempted poisoning of her marks the point where everything comes crashing down for their venture.]]

That was stated outright (even if they didn\'t use the words \"alien invasion\").

* Hell's Kitchen isn't nearly as hellish these days as it was back in the 80s. The series cleverly undoes much of the gentrification by using the destruction from the alien attack on New York in The Avengers as the reason for the change in the neighborhood.

He has horns because of he\'s the Devil of Hell\'s Kitchen. And he doesn\'t know that Fisk headbutts.

* Why does Matt include such sharp and pronounced horns on his final costume? It might be because Fisk loves using the headbutt.

* Closer to Fridge Squick really, but the scene with Stick and Matt eating ice cream counts when you realize just how much Stick (and Matt after his training) is able to tell about what's in the ice cream. Consider just how much Matt is able to tell about what goes into his food wherever he eats. It makes you wonder if he's ever been able to enjoy a meal ever since learning that little trick.

Adding example under Fridge Logic. Feel free to refine or clean up.

Added DiffLines:

* In the first season, is among those that becomes concerned that Fisk's attachment to Vanessa is clouding his judgment and distracting him, causing him to act illogically. Later, after pressing Fisk's BerserkButton in regards to Vanessa, 's ploy relies on the same 'questionable judgment' Fisk reacting logically to being blackmailed.

* The bright, gaudy billboard outside Matt's apartment does more than just allow him to get a good deal. It also justifies the light needed to film inside the set. Usually, the light in a scene is usually assumed to be coming from lightbulbs and lamps, but Matt, being blind, doesn't have that many.

Not enough context. What details, what inspiration?

* In lieu of the above, if one examines the series in closer detail, it becomes apparent Matt had a LOT of inspiration to adopt the image of a devil for his vigilante career. So much, it seemed just about inevitable.

* In-universe: after Matt reveals the incident that, after years of living in Hell's Kitchen with his powers, finally drove him over the edge and made him turn to vigilantism, Foggy has a moment to process. Matt couldn't have just snapped and gone out on a whim, with his training from Stick having atrophied for years. He would've had to keep it up, for some reason, in anticipation of an event like that. Foggy accuses Matt of deep down knowing that one day he would want to do something like this, and that it was just an excuse to put on a mask and take justice into his own hands.

** How did Melvin know not to cut eyeholes into the mask?
*** Matt probably told him. We never heard his entire conversation with Melvin about the costume.
*** Also , Melvin he could see that Matt original mask had no eye holes. So figured logically that he really didnt need them. Hence no eye holes in the new mask .
