[[Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer The series]] follows one Buffy Summers, the most recent in a long (non-hereditary) line of "Slayers": young women who are empowered with SuperStrength, SuperReflexes and occasionally [[DreamingOfThingsToCome prophetic dreams]] by mysterious higher forces to fight off the supernatural threats that would try to destroy or take over the world. Most of these of course coming from demons, frequently in the form of blood-sucking, undead vampires.
