** Tanto as well as the diplomat Sean Smith are seen playing two different ''VideoGame/CallOfDuty'' games on their consoles during their downtimes; ''VideoGame/CallOfDutyAdvancedWarfare'' (2014) and ''VideoGame/CallOfDutyGhosts'' (2013) respectively. Neither games were released at the time, their latest game then being ''[[VideoGame/ModernWarfare Modern Warfare 3]]'' (2011). To compound on that, the copy of ''Advanced Warfare'' used is played on a UsefulNotes/Playstation4, which wasn't released or even announced until the following year.

False statement. The difficulty in recognizing who is who is because everyone wears civilian clothing, and locals are of the same ethnicity. Several times this is commented and hostile forces are shown not engaging combat to retreat or flee during the first attack on the ambassador.

* FaceHeelRevolvingDoor: The 17-Feb militia or the random vigilantes seem to change allegiances by the ''seconds'' and as such, the American combatants have a hard time determining who is friend and who is foe throughout the battle.

I don't understand how this is a "downplayed" example when it was the American contractors who did the bulk of the fighting. Not to mention the 17 Feb fighters were incredibly unreliable and the Libyan army arrives after several Americans have been killed and the majority of the fighting had already finished.

* AmericaSavesTheDay: Downplayed. It's primarily the efforts of the American GRS that resulted in the safe evacuation of any survivors rather than a complete slaughter. But it's made clear that a friendly militia "17 Feb" do provide some assistance and [[spoiler: it's the arrival of Libyan army reinforcements that confirms they are in the clear and can make it to the airport]].
