Not surprising if that is the point of the movie. Surprising mean audiences expect an established series/narrative cliche only for it to surprise us with something realistic instead. Fails to explain what was expected instead of the realistic outcome.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: The trailer reveals that Mysterio's outing of Peter's identity has a devastating effect on him. Not only has his entire life become public knowledge, but he's not able to get a moments peace or any privacy. Schoolmates are surrounding him, the press is flocking to ask him questions, and the police have taken him into custody on Mysterio's false claims of murder. All of this drives Peter into seeking Dr. Strange for help.

I did a lot of general clean-up: fixing indentation, adding context to (or commenting out) ZCEs, correcting iffy grammar and punctuation, fixing an oversight in the "contains examples of" header, and so on. More specific changes: I changed The Cassandra to Cassandra Truth because the former is a character trope, and it doesn't really apply to Peter outside of this trailer (as far as I'm aware). I outright removed Do Not Do This Cool Thing because it seems like misuse to me - Wong is simply telling Strange not to use a dangerous spell, which Strange ignores. The trope requires unintentional glamorization of the danger in question, and I don't think Wong's short warning really counts. Finally, I'm not sure if Wham Shot can apply to a pre-release trailer, so I simply gave it some more context for now.

Schoolmates are surrounding him, the press is flocking to ask him questions, and the police have taken him into custody on Mysterio's false claims of murder. All of this drives Peter into seeking Dr. Strange for help.
* WhamShot: The teaser ends with a surge of electricity, then a familiar-looking pumpkin bomb, before one of Doc Ock's tentacles collides onto the scene. And the man playing Doc Ock? Creator/AlfredMolina.

!!''Spider-Man: Far From Home'' provides examples of:

* AdaptationDyeJob: The teaser reveals that Flash Thompson has bleached his hair blonde, looking more like his comic book counterpart.
* BigBadEnsemble: An entire multiverse of villains from other ''Spider-Man'' franchises appear following Doctor Strange's spell going horribly wrong. The teaser explicitly confirms that Doctor Octopus from ''Film/SpiderMan2'' will be returning, while heavily hinting at the Green Goblin from ''Film/SpiderMan1'', Sandman from ''Film/SpiderMan3'', Electro from ''Film/TheAmazingSpiderMan2'', and the Lizard from ''Film/TheAmazingSpiderMan'' in a FreezeFrameBonus while Peter is by himself in the dark.
* EvilLaugh: The Green Goblin's signature chuckle can be heard in the teaser, just before a pumpkin bomb blows up a chunk of a highway.
* EldritchLocation: The teaser showcases Spider-Man and Doctor Strange in the Mirror Dimension.
* IntercontinuityCrossover: In a first for the MCU, the franchise crosses over with the ''Film/SpiderManTrilogy'' and ''Film/TheAmazingSpiderManSeries''. The reveal of Doctor Octopus is treated as the money shot of the first teaser.
