* MotorMouth: Hammer babbles ''incessantly'' throughout most of his scenes. It's not entirely clear if it's a case of ObfuscatingStupidity or Hammer just being a schmooze who tries too hard. He's a foil to Tony, who also chatters, but usually has a point to everything he says, or to Vanko, who barely says anything.

** Vanko has [[spoiler:good enough reflexes to hit professional racecars with those whips of his, bisecting several, including Tony's, before engaging him in combat. He never actually gets hit by the Iron Man Mark V's repulsor blasts directly-- the first shot is negated by his destroying the repulsor before it's done charging up. OK, points for creativity. However, when Tony's takes further damage and he backpedals out of range, Ivan has to deal with the repulsors directly, without the aid of armor. What does he do? He uses his whips to ''catch and absorb the repulsor blasts from midair'', twice in a row, before grabbing Tony with the whips and throwing him around for a bit.]]

* TheStoic: Ivan Vanko is extremely calm and collected, even when held in captivity or being scolded by his billionaire employer. When Hammer tells his guards to start taking Ivan's [[MemeticMutation burd]] and other comforts away, you can see when he stops protesting and when he starts just going with it silently. It's like flicking a switch.

*AdaptationDistillation: These films are widely considered to be among the best superhero movies ''ever made'', and do an incredible job of boiling down the essence of the comics into a pair of movies and get Tony Stark ''exactly'' right. ** Iron Man 2: Stark has supposedly contracted Palladium Poisioning, and is looking at a very short life as a result. However, real life palladium isn't considered a toxic substance. It can cause a rash in certain people who are sensitive to it, but that's about it. Even then, allergic reactions to palladium are rare. It's often used in alloys with other precious metals, for example with gold, to make them a bit tougher to everyday wear and tear.
*** Real life palladium also isn't generally burned up as fuel for a Super Science reactor stuck in peoples' chests. It's possible something in that process made it more toxic than it otherwise would be. And it seeping into your bloodstream probably isn't a good thing, toxic or not.

** Tony's [[spoiler:and Obadiah]]'s main means of incapacitating people is hitting them really hard with his arms, fists or stabilizer-weapon thingamajig. He has sedative darts for if he really needs to shoot people, his first suit had flamethrowers, and if he's fighting something mechanical like a plane, tank, or or other suit, he just destroys the equipment. Perhaps the only time blood was shown was right after Tony got hit by the shrapnel of a mortar round (itself a subversion of the BulletProofVest). This doesn't mean he doesn't ''kill'' a lot of people, mind you...
