''Hell House LLC'' is an indie [[FoundFootage found footage]] {{Mockumentary mockumentary}} horror film released in 2016 directly by Stephen Cognetti. On October 8th, 2009 an unexplained malfunction at the haunted house attraction Hell House in upstate New York took the lives of fifteen people, including most of the staff. [[GovernmentConspiracy Authorities have discouraged any further investigation]] about what happened ever since. In 2014 a documentary crew goes back to Abaddon, New York looking for answers. What they find raises even more questions about what happened on Hell House's tragic opening night.

* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: The Abaddon Hotel, allegedly named for one of the demons that guards the entrance to Hell.

** In the YouTube footage at the start of the film a clown doing this is the first sign things are going wrong and brushed off as an opening night slipup. [[spoiler: He was the only person who saw what happened in the basement and survived, was put there to keep another actor safe and is found dead in his room shortly after.]]

* FoundFootageFilms: Consisting of footage shot by one of the Hell House crew, Paul, for posterity, improving future attractions and use on Hell House's website. [[spoiler: Most of the footage from the end of opening night comes from Mac's headcam.]]

* TheUnsolvedMystery: The mystery and coverup of what happened to Hell House on the night of October 9th is what sets the plot in motion.

* DownerEnding: The film starts off saying fifteen people, including most of the Hell House actors and crew, died in an unknown malfunction five years before [[spoiler: [[FromBadToWorse and goes downhill from there.]] The documentary interviewer and cameraman break into the Abaddon Hotel, find Sara waiting for them in Room 2C and suffer an unknown but presumably horrible fate.]]

* DamselInDistress: Initially subverted, one of the actors for Hell House is chained up in the basement and stripped down to her cut-open shirt and underwear to get this effect. Another actor is placed in the basement to make sure none of the Hell House to keep her safe. [[spoiler: Played horrifyingly straight when things go really wrong on opening night.]]

* FanService: One of the actors in the basement is a scantily clad woman who has her shirt cut open to help create a DamselInDistress effect. On opening night it only makes things more horrifying.

* AgentScully: Documentarian Diane Graves [[spoiler: mocks her cameraman, Jonathan, for being afraid of some "g-g-g-g-ghosts!" before going to the hotel.]]

* CreepyBasement: Intended to be the exit and final room of Hell House and is where the mysterious accident happened on opening night. Comes complete with occult symbols already chalked into the walls and ancient Bibles all over the place. It's spooky enough that the photographer who breaks into Hell House gets his pictures by sticking the camera around the corner and taking the shot without looking. [[spoiler: It's also where the first mannequins that move are first set up and where the rest of the crew finds Paul after he gets attacked in his room and disappears.]]

Arguably what happened in the basement as well [[spoiler: as the most the viewer ever sees is the crowd stampeding out, the faces of some of the mannequins moving, the horrified screams of the actress chained up down there begging to be let out and bloodstains on the staircase.]]

* NothingIsScarier: Much of the film runs on this to great effect. The worst of what takes place happens off-camera and many of the scares are very minimalistic in execution.

* ThePianoPlayer: One of the dummies is set up at the hotel's working piano. [[spoiler: The chord progression Paul plays on it is repeated by the piano playing on its own as things start getting worse.]]

* HellHotel: The Abaddon Hotel. Even before the events shown in the film [[spoiler: local legend has it some people, including a mother and daughter, checked in and never checked out. Business dries up and the [[DrivenToSuicide owner hanged himself in the hotel dining room.]]]] It shut down shortly after and has been abandoned for decades.
