* Synopsis: At some point during the [[VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite Pokémon: Best Wishes season]], Cyrus succeeded in [[EndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt remaking the world in his image]]. [[{{God}} Arceus]] did not like that very much, so he chose a champion to go back in time to SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong. Naturally, having already saved the world several times and having great potential with [[KiAttacks Aura]], Ash Ketchum is that champion. After a week in a pocket dimension training to learn Aura, Ash is [[PeggySue returned to the day he started his Pokémon Journey]] with the ability to restore his friends' memories of the other timeline and sets off to solve as many problems as possible...and, of course, have fun on the way.

* ''Comments'': The fact that this doesn't have it's own TV Tropes page is a crime. The main gist of the series is an AU where Serena moved ''from'' Kalos instead of the other way around. The series involves a lot of CanonWelding between the anime, movies, games, and manga (for example, Ash's father is explicitly stated to be Red). The series goes to some very, very dark places at times, with sometimes graphical descriptions (such as what some poachers did to [[spoiler:Lapras' family]]). Ash is much smarter, learns from his past mistakes, and isn't as ObliviousToLove as in canon. With his Aura, he can talk to Pokémon, and each has their own distinct personality (for example, Pikachu is a DeadpanSnarker, Haunter is a CrazyAwesome FourthWallObserver, and Serena's Hitmontop is an ArmouredClosetGay). Many of the more questionable events in the anime are either rewritten or retconned (the author makes it very clear he hates Tracey Sketchit, and reduces him to an obsessed fan of Professor Oak; the Rocket Trio is also DemotedToExtra, eventually becoming ReverseMoles working for Looker). There are some AcceptableBreaksFromCanon, such as Pokémon being able to learn more than four moves, and battles are well-written. There are some grammatical hiccups, and the use of British terminology can get confusing, but overall, if you ever read a Pokémon fanfic, make it this one.

The journey to the top is a path only the strongest can climb, and it doesn't help that Team Rocket seem to be three steps ahead at every turn. A retelling of the Pokemon journey we all know and love, with slightly darker and more horror-focused themes. Features competent Team Rocket and Brock with a purpose!
* ''Comments'': At first glance it looks like a standard pokemon Ash power fantasy, but it's much more than that. The author does a good job setting up multiple plot lines and plot hooks. There is some neat worldbuilding going on the time. And there are some real interesting character backstory ideas in the work, such as Gary and Misty being friends since childhood, and working to investigate the 'accidental' death of their parents. Everyone is still recognizable as themselves, but with some new twists and details.

While the beginning is a bit rough around the edges in terms of grammar and such, it greatly improves as the story progresses and never really drags the story down too much. The way the author handles [[spoiler:Serena after she wakes up from the coma and [[LotusEaterMachine is completely convinced that the real world is a nightmare and the coma-dream world, where Ash and her were happily married and had a family together]], was real]], is incredibly emotional and impactful. The fear and paranoia that consumes [[spoiler:Serena after waking up from the coma]] is very well-written, raw, and heart-breaking, especially with how [[spoiler:Ash reacts to her suddenly being deathly afraid of him]]. While it is unfinished, it’s nevertheless one of the best fics I’ve read in a very long time. Rated T.
