* Comments: Very intense and very good, it is made clear from the beginning that going from Beast to Prince is not going to be easy. Wirt’s transformation into the Beast is horrific in his anguish. No punches are pulled, including when it comes to Wirt dealing with new Beastly urges that he can’t always resist and do pose a legitimate threat to those around him. Despite that, Wirt tries to be a good person while grappling with his new nature. Beatrice and Wirt’s friendship is incredibly compelling, Beatrice’s family has an enjoyable and significant presence, Greg and Wirt’s brotherly love is excellent as both a source of comfort and conflict, and the OC that shows up in later in the series has been highly received by readers. A great depiction of Beast!Wirt.
