First installment features Schlatt backstory and lore that made him [[FreudianExcuse much more sympathetic.sympathetic]], and altogether tones down any and all canonical romance-related plotlines ''a lot''. Extremely long (took me several days to read it all) but definitely worth the ride.

I just really like this fic. Also, Oh, and Dream and Techno are portrayed much more sympathetically than canon-DSMP, so... I guess it's fairly apologist discourse-free in the AU.

Massive trigger warning for abusive relationships (not in the endgame ships) though--I may or may not have cried reading this fic because it gets ''very'' heavy sometimes. ''Never Take My Heart'' is a spin-off set in the same universe based around the extended Sleepy Boys Inc. family. The overall series may warrant a Trope list in the future once I get around to making one, because I listed many Tropes while rereading the fic and there are altogether [[{{Troperiffic}} about 2 pages' worth of them]].
