* UpliftedAnimal: An accidental example. During 2032, it was discovered that the raptors were just as self-aware as humans and were able to hold conversations in sign language. Then, in a more deliberate case, the raptors and other species were given full-blown sentience.

** Obviously, dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurs and Triceratops can't use conventional weapons. So, instead of assault rifles and such, they go straight for missile racks, tank cannons and Gatling railguns.

* BFG: Later codexes show both the TSA and Council races making absolutely ''massive'' guns.

* TheDreaded: Troodons. Nothing inspires more fear than these little horrors, particularly how the reproduce. They render a victim braindead with poison and then tear open the abdomen to lay their eggs, which will later hatch and eat the host. The worst part of this is that ''the victim is still alive and usually aware of what's happening!'' And of course, Cerberus just had to make them even deadlier.
