* ContrivedCoincidence: Kirika only survived because her potential Zanpaktou was of the same type as Kaien's own, a Flowing-Water type, and thus managed to integrate with each other. She even lampshades how her survival was sheer luck.

* ImaginationBasedSuperpower: Sentaro's Shikai allows him to create HardLight constructs like a Green Lantern. The catch is that since it's based off of his artistic abilities, it looks like a three-year old drew them.

* NotSoDifferent: When thinking about how Aizen will probably wait for everyone to be too wounded or tired from the battles before making his move, Kirika notes that it's what ''she'' would do in the same situation. She's more than a little disturbed at how easily she can get inside his decision-making processes.
