** Another common FandomSpecificPlot is that Amity's the result of an affair Alador had with another woman, turning Odalia into a ResentfulGuardian who gives Amity impossibly high standards to make Alador pay. * AdultFear:
** Skara's arc is about dealing with the disappearance of Boscha and being bullied by being in association with her.
** The end of Chapter 6 has Amity seeing [[spoiler:her entire house empty as her parents and older siblings were kidnapped.]]
** Chapter 7 has Amirani exclaiming how she has not seen her daughter in a week, and how she believes the Blights have something to do with this. She does go into a bit of extremes trying to [[spoiler:murder Amity with an axe though...]]
** The Blight parents indirectly and accidentally pissed off the rulers of a DeathWorld not once, but ''twice'', and now have to deal with not only their potential revenge, but Amity becoming their primary target thanks to her history with Boscha.
** The Boiling Underworld is one giant example of this: an EldritchLocation where MightMakesRight reaches its logical conclusion, where people are either "Strong", "Weak", or "Nothing", the latter [[spoiler: even having their deceased corpses harvested for organs to feed the Strong]] And keep in mind, ''Boscha lives here''.
** [[spoiler: The person you've both bullied and been bullied to, which you eventually hurt so badly they decide to cut you out of their life, ''is your own half-sister'', which you only learn while being told AwfulTruth after AwfulTruth about the history of your family.]] This, ladies and gentlemen, sums up Amity and [[spoiler: Amirani's]] talk in Chapter 22.
** Simon and Grace's situation with Zenith Fantasy. Not only do they have to survive losing against a nigh unstoppable monster who could still be out there, but who could ''kill'' them, but they also have to help four kids get their numbers down while not only facing a Train that won't forget what they've done as the Apex, but ''then'' [[spoiler: get the top spot on the Revamped Apex's hit list, all because they refused to split apart from the kids and become slaves to the group.]]
** Persephone's backstory is a massive heap of this. [[spoiler: Imagine not only being raped by a person you legitimately like, which was enforced by someone you thought would leave you alone if you did the same, but then have the shock of it leave you so weak and impotent that you not only give birth to a child you thought was stillborn, but then, once it becomes clear you can't take care of the child, you not only have her adopted by one of your associates, but then ''erase her memory of it'' so she can start anew. And then, to add insult to injury, she eventually returns to her original home anyway, this time ''sporting a bandaged eye caused by the daughter of the woman who hurt you'', '''which was the thing you wanted to prevent in the first place'''.]]
** Boscha's backstory, however, takes the cake. [[spoiler: After getting beaten up by Amity, her mother had her DeniedFoodAsPunishment for not being willing to kill, and then try to drill a dog-eats-dog mentality to ensure it'd never happen again, but her father ''used her as a guinea pig'' in order to test potions and procedures, with both parents ultimately causing their daughter to grow up to be the monster everybody knows today.]]

* OurSoulsAreDifferent: Soul Denizens, as revealed in Act 2, are Denizens made from the soul of a Passenger subjected to [[spoiler: the Heart System]] as an attempt to help them grow properly. There's always at least two: The Nobody, who represents the base person and has their memories, and the Heartless, who represents on of their biggest issues and obstacles, with more Soul Denizens being made depending on how damaged the Passenger is. Finally, they can only be significantly hurt by Keyblades: everything else doesn't hurt as much.

Added DiffLines:

* SoulCuttingBlade: [[Franchise/KingdomHearts Keyblades]] mix this with WeaponOfXSlaying, since not only are they the most effective way to deal with Soul Denizens, but it's also the ''only'' reliable way to hurt them: anything else can hurt them, but the Keyblades are just more effective in general.

Of course, [[GuiltByAssociationGag not only was Skara the ''only'' one sent to detention]], but it doesn't take long before a certain trio of troublemakers catches her...
* DemotedToExtra: If the original title didn't give you a hint, the tenants of "The Owl House" are the main characters of the show. In here, most of them are reduced to background characters.
** [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] with Luz. She plays a role in both canon and this story, but she's the main character in the former, while she's a supporting character in here.

Added DiffLines:

** The story tackles what would happen if the Train picked up a Passenger that wasn't particularly well liked back at their home. Long story short, nobody cares; barely anybody notices Boscha going missing, and those who do only actually care because they want her to pay for what she did. The only people who seem to be legitimately worried for her are Luz, who's an AllLovingHeroine, Skara, who's her OnlyFriend, and her parents, [[AbusiveParents who aren't winning any Parent of the Year awards]].
