Train, where she decides that she's going to prove a point to become something better. Stronger. An Apex.

* CentralTheme: What makes a person "strong"?

* DoubleStandard: In Chapter 6, Skara brings up this point: between Amity, Boscha and Skara, Amity was the only one who gets redeemed whereas Boscha and Skara are looked down as bullies even though Amity herself was a big of a bully in the past [[spoiler:and was the one that made Boscha into the "Apex" she is today]].
* TheDreadedPretendTeaParty: Inverted, Skara assumes that the Cursed Princesses are making her do a 'pretend' tea party...only to be horrified to learn that it's a ''real one''.

* AdaptationExpansion: The way the Cars of the Infinity Train work is explained here: rather than being interconnected, they're connected to what a Passenger ''needs'', so it's entirely possible for two people to arrive in one Car but go on to two different Cars when they leave. It's also stated that if a Denizen goes through a door first, they'll return to their Car of origin; Chris, for example, would return to the Mana Academy Car.

* BattleAmongstTheFlames: Boscha had a perchant for these:
** She sets the room she and the Apex are in on fire to make it clear that there's no backing away from the incoming disaster.
** She tries again when she fights King Lartsa at the Astral Car, but the arena's so wide she only manages to create a RingOfFire around them, and King Lartsa's {{Intangibility}} means he doesn't even need to stay ''within'' the circle; he's only there to humor her.

* BookcasePasssage: Boscha and Chris (And Lapis) go through one of these at the Mana Academy in order to look for Phosphophyllite's shards. [[LampshadeHanging Boscha's humoring the idea of asking how a crystal ball with no hands could possibly activate the passage, but decides to leave it as is for the moment]].

Boscha barely flinches in her battle against the Apex and sends ''them'' packing.packing.
** Boscha gets a taste of her own medicine when she fights King Lartsa, whose {{Intangibility}} means he's impervious to anything she throws at him.

* DuelsDecideEverything: Boscha challenges King Lartsa to a duel when the astral monarch refuses to teach her Astral Magic; if she wins, he teaches her how to do the magic, unworthy status be damned. [[spoiler: Boscha loses.]]

to:

** Simon is actually ''disturbed'' with how Phos is screaming in agony after being crushed into pieces.pieces, to the point he suggests to put the Denizen out of their misery.
* GreatBigLibraryOfEverything: Mana Academy's library is this, having not only books related to magical topics, but also entertainment exclusive to specific works like a compendium of Azura the Good Witch.

Added DiffLines:

** In a more subtle example, the end of Chapter 5 says Phos has Golden arms, implying they still lost and replaced their original arms like in canon.

Added DiffLines:

** Boscha has made quite a name for herself on the Train on the week she's been there. Unfortunately, the stories of her brutality convince Lartsa that she's not worthy of learning Astral Magic, as she's proven herself to be just as unstable as the stories suggested.
** DuelsDecideEverything doesn't apply here: the only reason Lartsa doesn't cancel the duel right then and there is because he wants to see if Boscha's as crazy as the stories make her out to be.
** Astral Magic, as it turns out, requires not only discipline but a great deal of mental stability. So naturally Boscha, who at that point has proven to be a trigger happy psycho, is completely unworthy to learn it.
** Skara refused to break off her friendship with Boscha, even after [[spoiler: Boscha drove every other friend she had away]] out of fear that they would be ostracized. So of course, people not only assume that she's just as bad as Boscha, but that once she's out of the picture, they begin pestering and bullying her.

** During the third chapter, Skara learns that the Luz that promised to show her and her friends "true delinquency" wasn't Luz, but actually King in Luz's body.

Added DiffLines:

** As the author's note on Chapter 4 argue, although Amity's leg wasn't broken in this story, and she was probably around for the season 1 finale, she wouldn't have been of much help because she'd still be facing against Lilith, one of the strongest witches in the Boiling Isles who made quick work of Gus and Willow.
** The Apex's... "fight" with Boscha leaves them in shambles for one simple reason: the idea of seeing Boscha again causes most of the members, who are children, to run away in sheer terror.
** When Luz's turn comes during the Bard track exam, she begins playing a violin... and turns out to be a DreadfulMusician. Learning how to play an instrument is very different from studying for an exam, so it's very unlikely someone would learn how to play it in a single sitting.

The difference being that Phyos was actually destroyed but still conscious, whereas Lexi was found BuriedAlive.

to:

** Both girls end up confronting the Apex, but Chloe is a MartialPacifist who takes a long while before she even meets them in person, while Boscha encounters them shortly after she arrives and is willing to break people's arms and burn their skin to make a point.
** Moreover, both Boscha and Chloe have partners who ended up being critically injured by the Apex (Phos and Lexi). The difference being that Phyos Phos was actually destroyed but still conscious, whereas Lexi was found BuriedAlive.BuriedAlive.
** ''Blossoming Trail'' plays the InsecureProtagonistArrogantAntagonist trope straight, with Chloe having a fair share of insecurities while the Apex act like arrogant assholes. In this story, Boscha's the Arrogant ''Protagonist'', and after her encounter with the Apex, the latter are at their lowest point.
