** During a late night talk with Yamato and Teach, Izuku reveals he's gained another dream during his time in the New World. Just like Luffy telling his dream to the Straw Hats in canon, the exact nature of this dream is hidden from the audience, but both Yamato and Teach think it's a great dream and encourage him to pursue it (unlike Luffy's crew who just laughed at him).

** As a result of the actions in Wano, Kaido steps up his operations outside the country leading Jack to take an island near the far end of the Grand Line. Per WordOfGod, in the canon timeline of ''One Piece'' that island was the one Germa 66 attacked rather than Brew Island in the fic, but Judge chose a different target here so as to avoid getting into conflict with an Emperor ([[MuggingTheMonster and instead getting a fight from Whitebeard instead]]).

* {{Dehumanization}}: One of the biggest factors in Kaido being an AbusiveParent to Yamato. It's clear from his HannibalLecture during their fight that he sees his own daughter as some sort of extension of himself and his legacy and actively devalues any feelings or desires of hers that do not conform to that expectation.

* NormalFishInATinyPond: [[ZigzaggedTrope Zigzagged]] with Izuku; while he was still a rookie in the ''My Hero Academia'' universe, he was getting the hang of the strongest Quirk in that world and would have been its greatest hero had he not been transported to ''One Piece''. Within ''One Piece'', he is at best a mid-level threat, able to hold his own against some dangerous foes with trickery and luck but nowhere near ready to challenge the true powers of the Grand Line, with [[BigBad Kaido]] being so powerful that if he had been transported across dimensions instead of Izuku, he could have conquered that world without breaking a sweat. However, Izuku is only mid-tier in the New World, the most dangerous section of the Grand Line where the biggest and baddest pirates live- in the Blue Seas or early sections of Paradise, he likely would have had nowhere near as great of challenges.

** Izuku helps Yamato escape from Onigashima. The exact ramifications are not shown in full, but it has a major impact on the fate of one character in particular: [[spoiler: Ace. Because Yamato isn't there to dissuade him from attacking the Beast Pirates, Ace goes ahead with his attack on Kaido and the Spade Pirates are brutally stomped by the Emperor and his crew. Ace is captured and enslaved while his crew are lobotomized for Queen's first attempt at the Marys surveillance system, meaning that Ace does not go on to meet Whitebeard and join their crew]].

* ShaggyDogStory: [[spoiler:After the Spade Pirates are wiped out by the Beast Pirates, Ace (the only survivor) becomes determined to save those who were turned into cyborg slaves by Queen... only for the Headliner to cruelly reveal that, due to overzealousness on his part, they eventually starved to death]].

* AdaptationalWimp: Several characters are shown to be weaker than they are in canon due to the story taking place two years before ''One Piece'' officially began- as such, they are younger and less experienced than they are in their official debuts. The two most prominent are Koala (who is on her first mission with the Revolutionary Army and hasn't built enough skill or fortitude to use Fishman Karate's more powerful techniques, contrasting canon where she was a prominent officer who could ''teach'' Fishman Karate) and Doll (who is an ensign with a shaky grasp of the Six Powers compared to the Pacifista-smashing Vice Admiral she is in her debut in the Egghead arc).

* ArchnemesisDad: True to canon, Yamato ''hates'' Kaido with a passion.

* CassandraTruth: Spytand Malice notices Yamato adding odd, spotting her running back to her room with food and not challenging Kaido for nearly two weeks. He thinks something is up, but the other high-ranking Beast Pirates (especially Queen) dismiss his concerns and think Spytand's just a StalkerWithACrush towards Yamato. When Yamato escapes and Spytand explains to Kaido that his warnings were ignored, Kaido is ''not'' pleased.

* CantKillYouStillNeedYou: Though he blames Spytand for letting Yamato and "Deku" escape, Kaido spares his life because the ex-Marine is the only one who has an accurate idea of what Izuku looks like and some knowledge of his powers and fighting style.

** Rather than just escape Wano on his own, Izuku swears to remove Yamato's explosive cuffs and take her with him. [[spoiler: He succeeds.]]

* ManChild: Not unsurprisingly, Izuku has this impression of Oden after Yamato reads Oden's logbook to him. Particularly the shenanigans he got up to before leaving Wano. Izuku still admits that, for all his faults, Oden did become a good man worthy of admiration in the end.

** Invoked in Chapter 62 when Yamato blurts out that Izuku ate the Dark-Dark Fruit so that Law won't poke too deep into their cover stories. Law is confused because he thinks the Dark-Dark Fruit would have even more darkness, but decides against pressing further.

** Law is able to quickly pick apart "En" and "Anna's" cover story by noting a few things: he saw no other ships around when he arrived at Swallow Island, the weather in the direction they were coming from was perfectly calm and not stormy like they said it was, neither of them know anything about one of the most popular comic series in the North Blue despite having travelled around there, and one of the trio is named after the star of that very same series... Fortunately for the heroes, Law doesn't voice any objections and keeps to himself about his concerns.

* MyBiologicalClockIsTicking: A male and played with example. Xebec wants to make Izuku his heir when they first meet. Later, Xebec explicitly states he needs an heir.
* NoNameGiven: As of Part 5's conclusion, neither the Roger Pirates, the surviving Rock Pirates, or the World Government know Izuku's name, with the latter simply dubbing him "the Green Demon".

** Like in the main story, Izuku is knocked into a body of water by an opponent who assumes his powers come from a Devil Fruit, only for him to fly out of the water and slam into said opponent from behind.

** Queen gives a "[[WesternAnimation/KungFuPanda Skadoosh]]!" before pummeling Ace with his gut during their "fight" in chapter 60, and mocks Ace [[spoiler: over the death of his crew]] the same way the Joker laughs at Batman over [[spoiler: him torturing Robin into Joker Junior]] in ''WesternAnimation/BatmanBeyondReturnOfTheJoker''.

Izuku Midoriya manages to defeat All For One, only for the villain to try to take the boy down with him. Though Izuku survives through the [[HeroicSacrifice actions of another]], he is then teleported to the world of ''One Piece'' and crash-lands on Onigashima, the base of the mighty Beast Pirates. He is found by Yamato, the daughter-who-identifies-as-a-boy of the crew's captain, Kaido. The two quickly become friends, and Yamato promises to help Izuku escape while Izuku intends to remove the explosive collar placed on Yamato by [[ArchnemesisDad her father.]]

** Based on a ([[CurbStompBattle bad]]) first impression, the Marines (courtesy of Lieutenant Ratel) assume that Yamato is some kind of genetically engineered war beast that Germa lost control over and is now under Trafalgar Law's control.
