* BrattyHalfPint: Cindy was a variant of this as a Cyndaquil. She grew out of it.

* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Originally, Celebi was just a generic Legendary character created to help out the main group (and also to appease the author's sister). However, as the story went on, she gradually transformed into a CrazyAwesome DeadpanSnarker with a good dose of ReedRichardsIsUseless (probably to keep the others from relying on her all the time). May be justified, since her first appearance involved her hatching from an egg, obviously with a clean slate for the personality department.

Hailey even dons a deadpan expression as she tells Cindy what she figured out. That moment established her as friendly and fun-loving, yet smart and a little snarky.

Luckily, the twins had used Double Team to confuse it, and climbed on for a sneak attack. However, Fearow noticed them and started flying upward to try to shake them off from a great height (since they could not fly), using this trope on Charlie twice in succession. The two managed to stop Fearow's flight and Thunderbolt it, and by the time they fell off, Charlie was up to catch them]].
