* MartyStu : The story is explicitly made that way because the author was disgusted by how poorly the character Xander was treated by the writers and characters of the Buffyverse. It's all about improving Xander and turning him into Marty Stu. The high point of the story is about how time-consuming, difficult and traumatic it would be to turn someone like Xander (or anyone else) into a Marty Stu, completely deconstructing everything about the "incredible journey" the protagonist goes through and how "easy" everything would be from the start !

* TakeThat! : The Author makes clear his disgust with the fact that Buffy's producers have spoiled Xander's character, constantly belittling him and making light of his serious confidence and self-esteem issues, never bothering to actually keep one of the many character developments he went through and most of the time leaving him as the unlucky comic relief of the series and even telling your actor to exercise less so he doesn't look too handsome .

* StrongAsTheyNeedToBee : Just like in Canon, vampires are only as strong as they need to be for plot maintenance. Though Xander throughout the story recognizes the danger level of a common vampire, he has several times dealt with vampires with ease and subsequently got into trouble and died fighting just one vampire. Particularly notable in chapter 19 , where he , furious and unstable at being reset in time again, chose a random vampire to vent to and died multiple times , restarting the time loop several times before managing to kill him , with the narration even mentioning that he looked like he was in a video game , dying multiple times to defeat the "big boss" .
