** Those are the merely "not that attractive" aversions, but closer to the literal definition of the trope the only guys who are androgynous, pretty, and unthreatening-looking are Aoshi, Ryou, D, Sesshoumaru, Kurama, and Rune. The other guys, while attractive, are too masculine or "handsome" or cute[[labelnote:*]]Kenshin and Yukito are unthreatening and possibly effeminate, but they are cute[[/labelnote]] rather than beautiful.

* PerceptionFilter: All kami escape the notice of regular people, sometimes whether they like it or not. Only people with a [[IncorruptiblePurePureness sincerely pure heart]] can normally see them, though they can make an effort to be seen by regular people.

** Originally Seth is Seto's PoisonousFriend, doing what he thinks needs to happen for Seto's goals that Seto's morals won't let him, but not in the normal way; Seto has no compunctions about killing or imprisoning youkai and human sympathizers, but Seth is willing to actually work with some of them, and has youkai agents and will actually walk into their cells on their terms to study them.

** PsychicRadar: Vampires can use their ki sense to locate people in the area and sometimes read more about them.

** Kenshin, Saitou, and Hiko, [[WeaponOfChoice not so much]]. Atem might be that pragmatic but never does it.
