Diverging from the point of Jusenkyo, Ranma discovers Genma's journal where he learned of all the deals he's done in his name and the plans he has in store for him. Needless to say, he wasn't happy Genma planned to live off of his hard work. After getting forcibly taken to the Tendo Dojo, he became adamant against going with the wishes of Genma and Soun's plan to have him married off to a Tendo girl. Ranma is determined to be the exact opposite of what Genma is and to branch off from the Anything Goes branch to form his own branch of fighting. He also isn't afraid to speak his mind and shows respect to those he feels deserves it.
