*** After it gets out that he nearly lost to [[spoiler:[[AdaptationalBadass Sakura]]]] during the Second Round Preliminaries of the Chunin Exams Finals, he learns that the betting pools had placed his odds of beating his first opponent in the Finals as so low that even members of his clan bet against him. ** Due to the Branch House of the Hyuuga Clan not existing in it's canon incarnation in this fic, Neji is equal to or possibly ''stronger'' than his canon counterpart's Chunin Exam Finals strength by the time the Second Round Preliminaries occur.

The story is the first of a planned trilogy under the name of Hyuuga, The Eldest Son. It is updated regularly on Mondays and as of February 9th, 2015 it sits at 39 Chapters and approximately 354,000 words.

* MakesUsEven: This concept is what drives Hinata [[spoiler:to give Naruto's team the scroll they need during the Second Round of the Chunin Exams]] because she's not fully capable of understanding that Naruto's actions during [[spoiler: the First Round]] were entirely altruistic and she wishes to repay her "debt" as quickly as possible.

* PaintTheTownRed: Due to a combination of Naruto's [[HealingFactor healing factor]], [[CrazyPrepared:a fanny pack full of blood replenishing pills]], and his status as a {{Determinator}}, he manages to paint almost the entire floor of the arena for the Chunin Exams Finals ''with his own blood'' during his match with [[spoiler:Hinata]].

* ForWantOfANail: Instead of the Uchiha Clan it's the [[spoiler:Hyuuga Clan]] that the Senju Clan has a blood feud with prior to Konoha's founding in this fic.

Naruto is declared the winner because while Hinata is technically still in near perfect fighting condition, Naruto is the only one who can still move, regardless of his inability to do more than wiggle a finger.]]

** If his reaction to thinking Hinata had been struck blind [[spoiler:the first time he saw her wearing a blindfold]] is any indication, Naruto has no compunctions with brutally murdering anyone who harms her.

* IndyPloy: Contrary to his canon counterpart, Naruto [[AvertedTrope avoids this]] almost as often as he relies on it. Most of his fights rely on the long term goal of getting a powerful seal off on his opponent, than flying by the seat of his pants until a victory condition appears.
