Fanfic / Princess Of Konoha

Go To

Princess of Konoha is a Naruto AU fanfic posted by BloodRed13 and cowritten by his twin brother Kage James.

The summary on is as follows, "AU fanfic: She was the most striking beauty he'd ever seen. Strong, cold, and standoffish. But she'd acknowledged his existence. And he wanted her to do it again…"

Set in an Alternate Universe where the Hyuuga Clan is exponentially more influential in Konoha than it is in canon, the story is kicked off when a six year old Naruto spots Hinata, whom he almost immediately dubs the "Princess of Konoha", exiting the Hyuuga Clan compound with a large portion of the clan during a festival and decides that he's going to be her best friend. Four years later he meets and has a conversation with a ten year old Hinata after being sent to the Hokage's office because of one of his pranks. What at first appears to be an innocuous conversation becomes the ignition point for Naruto's ambition to master his dead clan's fūinjutsu techniques.

The story is the first of a planned trilogy under the name of Hyuuga, The Eldest Son. It was updated on a weekly basis and as of June 21, 2015 it sits complete at 59 Chapters and 536,608 words.

The story, as well as an assortment of supplementary material can also be found at the Hyuuga, The Eldest Son Tumblr

The second part of the trilogy, Seal Master of Konoha, can be read here.

This fanfiction provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass: Several notable characters are noticeably more skilled than their canon counterparts, most notable of which is Hinata, who is far and away considered the strongest of the Konoha 12. Justified in that this serves as one of the major plot points in the fanfic.
    • Subverted by Naruto, in that his incredible skill with fuinjutsu is undermined by his complete disinterest in improving his utterly atrocious taijutsu. This changes after Kakashi makes a point of demonstrating exactly how much that attitude is crippling Naruto's combat effectiveness during the Wave Mission. After that, Naruto begins to rapidly improve to the point that he defeats Neji during the Second Round Preliminaries of the Chunin Exams.
      • Naruto's stealth, infiltration and pursuit evasion skills are good enough that he's successfully pulled a prank on the Hyuuga operated Military Police Towers. Twice. One of those pranks involved hitting four towers simultaneously.
    • Advertisement:
    • Due to the Branch House of the Hyuuga Clan not existing in its canon incarnation, Neji is equal to or possibly stronger than his canon counterpart's Chunin Exam Finals strength by the time the Second Round Preliminaries occur.
    • Driven by Itachi's statement that only the strongest kunoichi could garner Sasuke's interest, Sakura finds the drive to become strong enough to nearly defeat Sasuke in the Second Round Preliminaries of the Chunin Exams.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Due to it being required knowledge, Naruto has a comprehensive understanding of higher level mathematics, to the point that he was studying basic calculus by the age of eleven.
  • All There in the Manual: Aside from the story itself, there are several places where more information on the story can be found.
    • There are two sections that come with almost every chapter that help to further explain/define terms used within the fic.
      • The denshi jisho (review) is used at the start of each chapter to define the various Japanese words/terms the authors use in the fic.
      • KJ's Corner is used at the end of each chapter to further explain or refresh on specific terms and abilities that are used in the chapter.
    • Advertisement:
    • The tumblr page has several kinds of posts/sections that further expand upon certain topics that aren't directly covered in the fanfic.
      • Good Question: Where certain questions asked by the readers are answered for everyone to see.
      • Things you ought to know: Various pieces of information that may not have been picked up on by the readers that are relevant to The Invasion Arc.
      • Dramatis Personae: Is a section dedicated to listing all of the various major and minor characters and a brief mentioning of their position and important relationships they have.
    • There are several Omakes that are on the tumblr page only.
      • The first is a short extension of Interlude Six(Chapter 41)
      • The second is an expansion on a series of flashbacks from Chapter 43
  • Alternate Universe Fic: There are several noticeable differences between canon and this fanfic, the most notable being that the Hyuuga Clan is far more prominent and powerful than they were in canon, being described as Konoha's most powerful clan even with the Uchiha Clan still alive.
    • They also run the Military Police instead of the Uchiha Clan
    • The Uchiha Massacre never takes place in this universe.
  • Anti-Climax: The result of Naruto's fight with Hinata during the final round of the Chunin Exams counts as such. Both fighters are rendered incapable of fighting, Naruto because he's had the crap beaten out of him, and Hinata because she's been rendered completely unresponsive and unmoving by a combination of Naruto's seals. Naruto is declared the winner because while Hinata is technically still in near perfect fighting condition, Naruto is the only one who can still move, regardless of his inability to do more than wiggle a finger.
    • Chapter 40 is effectively a series of anti-climaxes . Lampshaded by the title as well as Sakura near the end of the chapter.
      • Sasuke vs Kankurou ends in Kankuro's immediate forfeit.
      • Shino vs Dosu is over so fast that Ino and Sakura miss the entire fight while talking to each other.
      • Shikamaru vs Temari occurs as it does in canon.
      • Renji vs Gaara ends in Renji's immediate forfeit.
  • Attention Whore: Much like his canon counterpart, Naruto craves the acknowledgement and attention of those around him to the point that he's willing to completely embarrass himself to receive it. Several of his "Pranking Rules" reflect this attitude.
    • As of chapter 28 Naruto has begun to differentiate between "good" and "bad" attention.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Naruto uses several Shadow Clones during the month before the Chunin Exam Finals to observe the Hyuuga fighting style. Come his first match with Hinata, he knows enough about Juuken that despite the differences in Hinata's own rendition of the fighting style, he manages to maneuver her onto his Five Senses Seal even while she believes that she's avoided letting him do so.
  • Badass Boast: Naruto is fond of these, but the clincher is what he says after he successfully activates his Gentle Fist Seal on Neji during their fight in the Second Round Preliminaries of the Chunin Exams.
Naruto: Yeah, that's right. Meet my Gentle Fist!
  • Battle Couple: They haven't quite advanced to that stage, but Naruto and Hinata's fight against Shukaku certainly had these vibes.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Though Naruto's adoration of Hinata started long before they first interacted, the fact that she always treats him with some measure of respect, unlike almost everyone else in Konoha, is one of the main reasons he thinks so highly of her.
  • Berserk Button: Neji's is seeing anyone act what he deems "inappropriately" around Hinata. This of course means that Naruto, being Naruto, pushes this button relentlessly.
    • Honestly, it's gotten to the point that Naruto seems to push Neji's berserk button by simply existing.
    • If Naruto's reaction to thinking Hinata had been struck blind the first time he saw her wearing a blindfold is any indication, he has no compunctions with brutally murdering anyone who harms her.
    • Sasuke's are being looked down on and any reminder of the fact that the Hyuuga are practically revered in the village despite the fact that they weren't even one of the founding clans.
      • After it gets out that he nearly lost to Sakura during the Second Round Preliminaries of the Chunin Exams, he learns that the betting pools had placed his odds of beating his first opponent in the Finals as so low that even members of his clan bet against him. After Kankuro forfeits immediately and denies Sasuke the chance to show his skills, he barely prevents himself from throwing an outraged conniption fit in front of everyone.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Sakura saves Sasuke just as he's about to be gutted by an enemy shinobi during The Invasion Arc by blowing said shinobi's skull apart with a single punch.
  • Blindfolded Vision: Hinata begins training herself to fight without needing to see shortly after becoming a genin on her jonin instructor, Itachi's, suggestion. Hinata goes above and beyond Itachi's suggestion by deciding to wear the blindfold at all times rather than just while training. Her obsession with it screams mental illness at times.
  • Blood Knight: Naruto remarks to himself that he probably comes across as such during his match with Hinata during the Chunin Exams Finals. This is especially prominent during the second half of the fight after Hinata removes her blindfold, wherein he's effectively getting filleted by her but cannot keep the stupid grin off of his face.
  • Blood Magic: Naruto uses his first blood seal during his match with Hinata in the Chunin Exams Finals.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: Hinata has various retainers that escort her from place to place and double as bodyguards for her in the case that she is attacked within Konoha. Of course, her position being what it is, Hinata is an absolute terror in battle as well.
  • Brain Bleach: Kiba wishes he had some after walking in on his sister, and his jonin sensei, Itachi, in bed together.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: Averted in a non-villainous example by Hinata. Although their first conversation was presumably nowhere near as profound or life altering for her as it was for Naruto, Hinata shows recognition of its occurrence during their second conversation two years later.
  • Can't Catch Up: Sasuke begins to feel this after watching Naruto and Hinata's match in the Chunin Exams Finals, before viciously shoving the notion aside.
  • Cassette Craze: Naruto has hundreds of cassettes worth of voice recordings detailing the preparation and execution of all his pranks, as well as the details of his trials in learning and creating new fūinjutsu techniques that he calls his "Super Ninja Notes".
  • Character Filibuster: Shino's main method of discourse, even when there really isn't time to go on about something at length.
    • Hinata expresses visible annoyance at this tendency during the Chunin Exams Invasion and Naruto calls him out on it shortly after that.
  • Character Shilling: Hinata. Just...Hinata. Whoo boy, where to start? Everyone in the world seems to line up to give her the utmost respect, even in their thoughts or when she's not even around. It's pretty jarring when its various ninja of the village. A Chunin at an outpost practically creams himself at the idea that she is coming there on a mission. But when it's the Hokage and even the DAIMYO of all people, it gets extremely jarring. Sasuke mentally compliments her on her incredible power, which the reader has never seen, while in a fight that's she's nowhere near and Naruto worships her on a level that is just plain creepy.
  • Check and Mate: Shino attempts to do this to Naruto during their fight in the Chunin Exams Finals, but ends up being interrupted and defeated by Naruto shortly thereafter.
  • Chekhov's Skill: In Chapter 3, while Naruto is attempting to learn a chakra control exercise that involves sticking a small stone to one's hand by applying chakra to it, he overloads the technique and launches the pebble from his hand at high velocity. Come chapter 28, Naruto uses this trick during his fight with Neji to gain the time needed to summon some Shadow Clones.
    • Several of Naruto's seals, like the Randomizer Seal and a Storage Seal that safely stores living beings, make their appearance earlier in the story or during the (Pranking) Training Session Interludes before they're seen in a combat situation.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: The Hyuuga's First Family, the rough equivalent of canon's Main Family, is divided into the Yin, the family line that leads the clan, and Yang, the family line that leads the Military Police, and wear white and black respectively to indicate their status. The closer one's position in the family is to the highest position in either family line, the closer the color of their attire is to pure white or black. The standard Hyuuga uniform is grey.
    • As the heir to the clan and member of the Yin, Hinata wears a pure white Haori as a part of her combat uniform.
    • As a member of the Yang and the person who'd once been next in line to lead the Hyuuga Military Police before Hanabi was born, Neji has an honorary position in the Military Police and wears a very dark grey uniform to represent this.
    • Before the importance of color in the Hyuuga uniform had been fully explained in the KJ Corner of chapter 31, Naruto makes note of how the darker the grey a Hyuuga Policemen's uniform was, the harder it was to successfully prank them.
      • Naruto exploits this for his prank Operation Fire Festival, part of which involved turning all of the Hyuuga police uniforms bright orange. The darker the uniform, the brighter the shade of orange the uniform became.
  • The Commandments: Naruto has a massive list of rules, called the "Master Pranking Rules", based around how to go about successfully pranking people that he also applies to his day to day activities at times.
Rule 5: Proclaim innocence even when proven guilty.
Rule 7: The first excuse is always the best excuse.
Rule 9: Don't unnecessarily over-complicate things aka Keep it Simple, Stupid.
Rule 10: Stack the deck in your favor.
    Rule 13: Don't get caught.
Rule 15: Weigh your options and either prank or run.
Rule 21: Never stay too long at the scene.
Rule 22: Never let your guard down after a prank.
Rule 24: Wait for everyone to leave an area before setting up a prank.
Rule 28: Don't get upset if you aren't progressing as fast as you'd like.
Rule 32: If a plan is working, don't mess with it.
Rule 35: Temporary pleasures aren't worth the sacrifice of long term goals.
Rule 39: Never proceed with a prank without knowing your target.
Rule 42: Spend more time on the setup if it will make the prank easier.
Rule 43: Never do more prep work than necessary.
Rule 45: Don't out yourself to anyone, even your friends. You never know who'll be listening.
Rule 46: Avoid collateral damage. It just causes more trouble.
Rule 47: Don't make risks you don't have to take.
Rule 48: No life is worth the completion of a prank.
Rule 49: Know who you're targeting before starting a prank.
Rule 50: Never settle for anything less than the perfect prank for the intended target.
Rule 51: Always prank your intended target.
Rule 52: It's not a successful prank if you get caught.
Rule 53: Always assume kunoichi will kill you if caught in a questionable situation.
Rule 54: Prank friend and foe.
Rule 55: Always pull the biggest prank possible no matter the consequences, because the more attention, the better.
Rule 56.5: A Prank is only truly great if there are witnesses to it.
  • Could Have Been Messy: Naruto nearly has his head skewered by one of Gaara's sand spikes during their fight in the Chunin Exams Finals.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Many of Naruto's "Master Pranking Rules" run on this trope.
    • Naruto walks into his fight with Hinata during the Chunin Exams Finals with enough blood replenishing pills on hand to survive dying of blood loss several times over.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Hana's three ninken get a scene from their point of view during chapter 34.
  • Deceased Parents Are the Best: They really, really aren't. Hinata winds up learning this the hard way, and barely stays together under the pressure that followed.
  • Determinator: Naruto, so very much so.
    • His fight with Hinata during the Chunin Exam Finals is a resounding example. He's bled so much all over the arena that it's literally the only thing Hinata can smell anymore, a good portion of his body is rendered numb and unresponsive and he still keeps himself moving on sheer willpower. It gets to the point that several people begin to wonder whether or not he's suicidal.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: It took a whole hell of a lot of work on his part, but there's no denying that Hinata's come to feel closer to Naruto—indeed, closer than anyone else other than Hanabi. No one can behave around her the way she permits Naruto to.
  • Disappointed in You: When Hinata doesn't take Naruto seriously in their fight despite what they had together, Naruto wonders if they were ever even friends if she wouldn't respect him that much. The she finally pulls out the Byakugan...
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Naruto is moments away from attempting to kill Kiba the first time he sees Hinata blindfolded because he assumes Kiba let her get hurt. The situation was resolved before bloodshed, but the killing intent Naruto released was enough to cause Neji to freeze in terror.
  • Don't Make Me Destroy You: Near the end of their match Hinata asks Naruto to stand down, because even though she can't quite spell out to herself why, she really doesn't want to kill him.
Hinata: Stand down, Uzumaki-san. It is not my wish to kill you.
  • Emotionless Girl: Hinata fits the bill perfectly to most observers.
    • It's quickly revealed that extreme emotional control is seen as a necessity within the Hyuuga Clan, especially in the heir. Furthermore, because of the Hyuuga Clan's Byakugan, Hinata has been conditioned to maintain emotional control even when she's physically alone. During the times the story shifts to her point of view it's shown that underneath the stoic facade, Hinata is a lonely girl who adores her little sister and distinctly feels the enormous weight of the responsibilities heaped upon her young shoulders.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: When he first learns about the Uzumaki Clan, Naruto assumes that his father was the Uzumaki in the relationship and that he got his blond hair from his mother. Justified in that standard practice would be to give him his father's last name, but of course, Naruto is a special case.
  • Expy: A large number of the OC's used are Bleach expys.
  • Festival Episode: The prologue of the story takes place during a festival day and is titled Matsuri aka festival.
    • Interlude VI occurs during Konoha's annual Fire Festival.
  • For Want of a Nail: Instead of the Uchiha Clan it's the Hyuuga Clan that the Senju Clan has a blood feud with prior to Konoha's founding in this fic. The Uchiha Clan is still one of the two founding clans of the village though.
  • Genius Slob: Naruto has gained extensive knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry due to his efforts to become a fuinjutsu master, but his apartment is a disaster area.
  • Ice Queen: Hinata keeps tight rein over her emotions, has trained to make decisions for the sake of the clan that may be ruthless, and holds her distance from everyone. But she can still feel, and Naruto's been working on warming up that ice ever since they met.
  • Idiot Ball: Rather than simply knock out Naruto, who is having trouble standing at that point, Shino decides to monologue about how Naruto should give up because he's already drained Naruto of all of his chakra and that Naruto is incapable of beating him with purely taijutsu with the condition his body is in. Naruto proceeds to summon a ring of shadow clones around Shino's wall of flesh eating bugs, replace himself with one of the clones and then set all of the bugs on fire with a fire jutsu, which leads to Shino falling unconscious from the shock.
  • Ignored Epiphany: After being defeated by Naruto in the Second Round Preliminaries of the Chunin Exams, Neji quickly regresses back into his fate complex upon learning that Naruto's first opponent in the Chunin Exam Finals will be Hinata
  • Indy Ploy: Contrary to his canon counterpart, Naruto avoids this almost as often as he relies on it. Most of his fights rely more on the long term goal of getting a powerful seal off on his opponent, than flying by the seat of his pants until a victory condition appears.
  • Jerkass: Even though the Caged Bird Seal doesn't appear to be a thing in this fic's universe (or at the very least it only exists in a different incarnation from it's canon counterpart) and his father is still alive, Neji still manages to be a fate obsessed asshat. He attempts to kill Naruto during their fight in the Second Round Preliminaries of the Chunin Exams, because he views the familiarity with which Naruto treats Hinata as a direct offense against the Hyuuga Clan.
    • Fugaku treats both of his sons with open contempt when they do anything he views as lowering the image of the Uchiha Clan.
  • Lady of War: Naruto makes note of how fluid and graceful Hinata manages to remain even while she's practically cutting him to ribbons during their match in the Chunin Exams Finals.
  • Loads and Loads of Characters: On top of the already large original Naruto cast, there's also a decently sized group of OC's, most of whom are members of the Hyuuga Clan, that have been added to the cast as well.
  • Long-Distance Relationship: When Naruto and Hinata set off on separate ways at the beginning of the sequel, they keep in close, frequent contact with one another. Though not a romantic relationship—yet—what they are maintaining over the long distance is more than just friendship.
  • Long Game: Naruto's execution of Operation Fire Festival took him six months of preparation.
  • Love at First Sight: Naruto becomes infatuated with Hinata after seeing her once during a festival when he's six.
  • Makes Us Even: This concept is what drives Hinata to give Naruto's team the scroll they need during the Second Round of the Chunin Exams because she's not fully capable of understanding that Naruto's actions during the First Round were entirely altruistic and she wishes to repay her "debt" as quickly as possible.
  • Must Make Her Laugh: Naruto makes it one of his goals to make Hinata laugh after his first conversation with her when they're ten.
  • Noodle Incident: There are several references made to a prank Naruto pulled that involved him infiltrating four Hyuuga Military Police Towers, but nobody ever goes into the details of what happened.
    • The prank is finally partially explained during Interlude V(Chapter 32), where it is referred to as Operation Fire Festival, and shown happening during Interlude VI(Chapter 41). note
  • No-Sell: During chapter 42, Tatsuki, Hinata's primary attendant, attempts to dissuade Naruto from approaching Hinata by unleashing a healthy dose of killing intent. Naruto doesn't react in the slightest.
  • No Such Thing as Bad Publicity: Applied In-Universe by Naruto. Until he starts to differentiate between "good" and "bad" attention in chapter 28, Naruto runs on the idea that any attention or form of acknowledgement is worth getting.
  • Oh, Crap!: This is Hiruzen's reaction after giving Naruto a chakra control locked scroll full of sealing techniques and telling him he's only allowed one prank per new seal he learns.
    • Hinata's reaction to being told she's standing in the middle of Naruto's first blood seal during their fight in the Chunin Exams Finals.
    • Naruto's response to discovering that for the first part of their fight Hinata hadn't used the Byakugan at all. Of course, since he wanted her to go all-out on him in the first place...
    • Naruto's reaction to Shukaku taking control after he manages to knock Gaara out during the Championship Round of the Chunin Exams Finals.
  • Ojou: Hinata is a spectacular one, and Naruto's not all that far off when he dubbed her the Princess of Konoha.
  • Only Sane Man: After finding the remains of a team that appears to have clashed with Gaara in the Forest of Death, Kiba feels like he fills this position on his team when Hinata insists that they continue scroll poaching regardless.
  • OOC Is Serious Business: Naruto is completely thrown off by how eager Neji seems to be to fight in his Second Round Preliminary Match, because his actions are far more hasty than any Hyuuga he'd ever met. After Naruto realizes that he's the one Neji is fighting, he's even more confused because he doesn't remember ever pranking him and he's made a habit of not messing with Hyuuga Police with a uniform as dark in color as Neji's
  • Operation: [Blank]: Naruto uses this naming scheme for his pranks.
  • Paint the Town Red: Due to a combination of Naruto's healing factor, a fanny pack full of blood replenishing pills, and his status as a Determinator, he manages to paint almost the entire floor of the arena for the Chunin Exams Finals with his own blood during his match with Hinata. And it's entirely intentional.
  • Power Nullifier: Naruto's Gentle Fist Seal prevents chakra flow through the affected areas of the body. Depending on the strength of the seal, it can affect specific body parts or the body as a whole.
    • Naruto's Vibration Seal completely nullifies Gaara's ability to manipulate sand when it's set to the right pitch/frequency.
  • Precision F-Strike: Sakura uses several of these while she's taking Sasuke to task during the Invasion for completely abandoning the mission they'd been given and going on a bloody rampage to assuage his wounded pride.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Naruto's work to build up the Uzumaki Clan once more is starting to look like this, with it's current members consisting of Naruto himself, Inari and Haku.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Naruto and Hinata are the main example in the fic, with Naruto being the Red and Hinata being the Blue.
    • Less prominent examples include Naruto(Red)/Haku(Blue) and Kiba(Red)/Hinata(Blue)
  • Required Secondary Powers: Naruto's skill in fūinjutsu requires that he excel in mathematics. He's good enough that he easily answers the questions on the test for the First Round of the Chunin Exams with time to spare.
    • He also has a passable knowledge of physics and chemistry.
  • Send in the Clones: All of Team 7 has taken to using various clone jutsu to augment their fighting prowess, though Naruto is still the only one to use Shadow Clones.
  • Sense Loss Sadness: Hinata is nearly overwhelmed by the sudden helplessness she feels after being affected by Naruto's Five Senses Seal, before powering through it on sheer willpower.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Hizashi never dies because the Kumo kidnappers never make it into the Hyuuga Compound before being detained.
    • The Uchiha Massacre never takes place in this universe.
    • Haku survives the Wave Mission due to Naruto sealing him away in a scroll before he could sacrifice his life for Zabuza.
  • Sustained Misunderstanding: Naruto Clone #35 asks Iruka where he can get blood replenishing pills in bulk for cheap. Iruka somehow misconstrues this as Naruto asking for the purpose of entering into a BDSM relationship of some sort and begins a somewhat incoherent tangent on how Naruto "should forget everything the nurses told him, but that it's not a bad thing, only it requires two consenting adults..." To put things into context, Iruka is dating Anko.
  • Teleportation Sickness: Kiba gets this after experiencing Naruto's long range replacement seal.
  • Terrain Sculpting: The final seal Naruto uses during his match with Hinata does this, creating a large, stone, flower-shaped structure at its epicenter as a byproduct of massive seal-based explosion meeting the spinning of the Rotation.
  • Title Drop: If there's a scene from Naruto's point of view, the words "Princess of Konoha" are very likely to appear at some point during it.
  • Underdogs Never Lose: Much like his canon counterpart, Naruto seems to make a habit of playing this straight.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Even after spending most of the month before the Chunin Exams Finals training specifically to face Naruto's unique fighting style, Hinata still ends up drastically underestimating his combat ability.
    • She berates herself for this after being affected by Naruto's Five Senses Seal and resolves to treat him as an equal from that moment on, but still ends up losing by knock out.
    • Even Jiraiya didn't expect him to win, and didn't bother attending the match. It's not much of a surprise that he has so little respect for him when they go training.
  • "Well Done, Daughter" Guy: Much like her canon counterpart, Hinata craves her father's acknowledgement and she inwardly reacts very negatively to the thought of disappointing him.
    • Sasuke also wants his father's acknowledgement, enough so that when his first opponent during the Chunin Exams Finals, Kankuro, forfeits immediately, he sees red and has to bite himself to the point of bleeding to avoid making a scene in outrage.
  • What Beautiful Eyes!: Naruto is incredibly enamored with Hinata's eyes to the point he's transfixed by them to the point of distraction when she takes off her blindfold during their fight in the Chunin Exams Finals.
  • Worthy Opponent: Hinata never thought that Naruto was weak, but eventually she acknowledged him as being her equal, something that no one except Naruto himself ever believed possible.

How well does it match the trope?
