Char clones show up quite often in other HumongousMecha series' as well (see Elzam Branstein's entry in the Games section). Lelouch from ''Anime/CodeGeass'' is a borderline example. Apparently the idea of him wearing a mask came from executives who said something along the lines of "It just wouldn't be a Sunrise show without a mask". Ironically, Char is an Expy himself from Prince Sharkin, TheDragon of ''Anime/{{Raideen}}'', Creator/YoshiyukiTomino's first HumongousMecha anime.
