** The Great Mother is the patron deity and, in some versions, original creator of beholders. Humanoids see her as a constantly shifting beholder. Beholders, being narcissistic to a pathological degree, invariably see her as a godlike version of themselves.

** Even more worrying than the Daelkyr's ability to rework you into a horrifying monster in person is that their RealityWarper powers are not significantly limited by range or logic. Belashyrra, the Lord of Eyes, has been sealed in a demiplane in Khyber for thousands of years, but that doesn't mean that, say, a number of officers of the Sharn City Watch won't wake up next morning with eyes on their palms, discover that some people look like demons when glimpsed through those eyes, and become vigilantes murdering those people. (And given the existence of quori mind seeds, they may not be wrong.) Kyrzin could, at any point, create a new strain of the common cold that causes you to GoMadFromTheRevelation.

** Khyber, the Dragon Below, [[AmbiguousSituation assuming the Progenitors really existed]]. One of the three dragon-gods who created the Eberron setting, Khyber is large enough to form ''the core of the planet''. [[DugTooDeep Digging too deep]] - which can just be expanding the sewer system - can lead you into openings into the demiplanes that make up its body. Said demiplanes include such wonderful places as the Abyssal Forests of Khaar, or the Palace of Sinew, prison of the daelkyr Dyrrn the Corrupter, or even the embodied heart of an Overlord.
** Each of the Overlords spawned from Khyber is a ludicrously powerful, utterly unkillable entity sealed in a LeakingCanOfEvil that exists to express its personal facet of malevolence, from endless war to murderous cold to undeath to the cruel and violent use of magic. The most "eldritch" is probably the Lurker in Shadow, which governs what Lovecraft himself called "the oldest and strongest kind of fear" - fear of the unknown, whether that be the prospect of sudden disaster or the sudden betrayal of a friend. The Lurker's minions include aboleths and shadow demons, and any kind of horrifying aquatic nightmare might be related to it.
