In the 21 century of the MarvelUniverse, more and more reports have talked about the "Mutant Epidemic", with 75% of newborn babies being born a similar mutation in their genes dubbed "The X-Gene". To add to those statistic, more children are expressing the "X-Gene" at earlier parts in their lives then previously thought. Videos have also surface of mutants causing unintentional/intentional damage due to their abilities. People's hatred towards mutants have increased to where they are very reliant on the government
