* ''SoulEater'' has Black?Star. Some may see his personality as something charming or amusing, but all in all he's egocentric and refuses to admit his faults even when he keeps making them. It's made obvious from his very debut when he has little to no respect for his allies and despite being a pretty bad student with lack of keeping up with his quota, he continues to see himself as someone better than God. It truly doesn't help when [[spoiler: after the madness is released]], the main trio are being tutored to synchronise their soul wave lengths but Black?Star channels his too hard and fast and refuses to slow down because he's "too awesome". Maka calls him out on this but [[TheObiWan Stein]], being the [[SarcasmMode smart guy]], tells Maka she should leave the team if she can't handle him being there. This is also after Stein himself thought how Black?Star was going over the top. So not only does Black?Star be a total jerk to his "friends" but he [[KarmaHoudini gets no punishment of the sort for it]]. Over time does go through CharacterDevelopment, it just doesn't show outwardly because he's just the kind of guy, and if he suddenly wasn't so energetic, it'd be ''extremely'' jarring. If anything, he's in denial about it, or alternatively, is just too dense to really notice.

* ''{{Working}}'': Mahiru Inami, and with good reason. In a series focused on an EnsembleCast, she gets far more screentime than any other character, sometimes even surpassing Souta Takanashi, ''TheProtagonist'' and point of view character. Said screentime isn't very varied either, as it only consists of two things: The first is Inami's sole gag of punching things really hard, either breaking stuff or hurting men. You see, Inami has androphobia or [[DoesNotLikeMen fear of men]], and she punches any man that gets anywhere near her. Despite that evident flaw, she works in a ''family restaurant''. The HandWave is the boss doesn't really care, but [[FridgeLogic when you've got a waitress that can't serve most customers and keeps breaking the walls, she should either be fired or the restaurant should be in bankrupcy, but she has no problem keeping her job]]. However, Aoi is called out more when she breaks a plate, which is bad but MUCH less so than Inami's damage. The second thing is her relationship with Souta, the aforementioned protagonist. However, because of her androphobia she can't get close to Souta without hurting him, which obviously he doesn't like since this isn't ''{{MM}}'' and makes the relationship seem weird and awkward, but [[NoSympathy everyone treats him as the bad guy if he gets angry]], [[AbuseIsOkayWhenItsFemaleOnMale while her punching him is excused and expected to be fully accepted]]. Note than at other times she ''does'' get called out for punching people, not that she stops doing it but still, however with Souta, he should grit his teeth for whatever reason. Because of that and the lots of focus the relationship gets, it's considered a RomanticPlotTumor and it shows no signs of doing anything but get worse. No wonder in the second season he TookALevelInJerkass, as dealing with someone like that would drive anyone mad. Even worse, when Takanashi is asked why he doesn't like Inami, he doesn't say "Because she punches me hard when I get close to her, not to mention my job is keeping an eye on her and that's very stressing, so most people in my situation would at least be grumpy, if not outright dislike her", that'd be ''logical''. No, he pulls out his FreudianExcuse of "ALL WOMEN OLDER THAN ME ARE EVIL!", and while it makes sense for him to think like that since he has 4 terrible older sisters that make his life hell, the fact he can't name a reason to dislike Inami that technically is ''her'' fault, when such a reason ''actually exists and is [[AWorldwidePunomenon painfully]] obvious'', is rather jarring and convenient, since it nicely avoids having to deal with Inami's glaring and hard to justify man-punching issue, instead making Souta unable to deal with her being ONE year older. They also introduced a RomanticFalseLead that only exists to [[ShallowLoveInterest love Inami only because she punches hard]] so Takanashi can, for some absurd reason, feel ''jealous'' so he can get shoehorned into loving her, and while said False Lead was introduced as being the possible LongLostSibling of Aoi, the two never met, this was neither confirmed nor denied and the series seems to forget about the topic, making the whole sibling thing feel like a ShaggyDogStory to justify having a new character sing Inami's praises. All of this proves why she belongs here.
** To be fair, she does have some fans, so she might be more of a BaseBreaker. However, some of those fans don't really help Inami one bit as they [[HateDumb hate Takanashi for not liking Inami and being mean to her]], when he has every reason to not stand her, because, well, nobody really wants to be with a person that punches you all the time for no reason. Though they're right he's suddenly a bigger jerk to her in the second season, but still, Inami's flaws can't be easily forgiven or ignored like that!

* ''{{Working}}'': Mahiru Inami, and with good reason. In a series focused on an EnsembleCast, she gets far more screentime than any other character, sometimes even surpassing Souta Takanashi, ''TheProtagonist'' and point of view character. Said screentime isn't very good, varied either, as it only consists of two things: The first is Inami's sole gag of punching things really hard, either breaking stuff or hurting men. You see, Inami has androphobia or [[DoesNotLikeMen fear of men]], and she punches any man that gets anywhere near her. Despite that ''evident'' evident flaw, she works in a ''family restaurant''. The HandWave is the boss doesn't really care, but [[FridgeLogic when you've got a waitress that can't serve most customers and keeps breaking the walls, she should either be fired or the restaurant should be in bankrupcy, [[FridgeLogic but she has no problem keeping her job]]. However, Aoi is called out more when she breaks a plate, which is bad but MUCH less so than Inami's violence.damage. The second thing is her relationship with Souta, the aforementioned protagonist. However, because of her androphobia she can't get close to Souta without hurting him, which obviously he doesn't like since this isn't ''{{MM}}'', ''{{MM}}'' and makes the relationship seem weird and awkward, but [[NoSympathy everyone treats him as the bad guy if he gets angry]], [[AbuseIsOkayWhenItsFemaleOnMale while her punching him is excused and expected to be fully accepted]].accepted]]. No, he pulls out his FreudianExcuse of "ALL WOMEN OLDER THAN ME ARE EVIL!", and while it makes sense for him to think like that since he has 4 terrible older sisters that make his life hell, the fact he can't name a reason to dislike Inami that technically is ''her'' fault, when such a reason ''actually exists and is [[AWorldwidePunomenon painfully]] obvious'', is rather jarring and {{strawman}}-like to say the least. least, since it nicely avoids having to deal with Inami's glaring and hard to justify man-punching issue. They also introduced a RomanticFalseLead that only exists to [[ShallowLoveInterest love Inami only because she punches hard]] so Takanashi can, for some absurd reason, feel ''jealous'' so he can get shoehorned into loving her, when he should you'd expect him to be glad he finally got rid of her, much like he was ''one episode ago'', on what can only be defined as an awkward inversion of DerailingLoveInterests. All of this proves why she belongs here.
** Oh, and in all fairness To be fair, she does have some fans, so she might be more of a BaseBreaker. However, some of those fans don't really help Inami one bit as most of them seem to drive a BiasSteamroller and they [[HateDumb hate Takanashi for not liking Inami and being mean to her]], when he has every reason to not stand her, because, well, nobody really wants to be with a person that punches you all the time for no reason. * ''TheSlayers'' has Pakota, a BrattyHalfPint trapped in a RidiculouslyCuteCritter form and who has an [[{{Angst}} angsty]] backstory. His personality was said to be based on a character who appeared later on in the LightNovels. This might not have been so bad (though he IS still annoying), but Pakota just so happens to be a BlackMage on par with [[TheSlayers Lina Inverse]] and a MagicKnight wielding a replica of the Sword of Light. These two things, plus his bratty behavior and the fact that the plot of Slayers Revolution all but revolves around him definitely makes him a contender for being a Creator's Pet. The worst thing is that while many "guest stars" in the Slayers anime do share similar traits (Filia could be annoying and Xellos has power levels equal to that of a GodModeSue), Pakota largely isn't *funny* in a comedy show and yet gets a lot of screen time, a strong sign of a Creator's Pet.

** To twist the knife more, he's also a ReplacementScrappy to the former third-billed hero Aki, a [[DarkMagicalGirl Dark Magical]] ActionGirl with a much deeper character arc and more interesting backstory. Aki was DemotedToExtra once Crow arrived and her character arc became weaker and lost focus as a result. The end credits are almost mocking of this--in a montage of the heroes Yusei, Jack and Crow are listed as their positions on Team 5Ds (Third Wheeler, First Wheeler, Second Wheeler) while Aki is listed as "Benchwarmer". Furthermore, several of the episodes where Aki got to shine again still somehow involved Crow in their plots.

* ''{{Working}}'': Mahiru Inami, and with good reason. In a series focused on an EnsembleCast, she gets far more screentime than any other character, sometimes even surpassing Souta Takanashi, ''TheProtagonist'' and point of view character. ** Oh, and in all fairness she does have some fans, so she might be a BaseBreaker. However, those fans don't really help Inami one bit as they seem to drive a BiasSteamroller and [[RonTheDeathEater hate Takanashi for not liking Inami and being mean to her]], when he has every reason to not stand her, because, well, nobody really wants to be with a person that punches you all the time for no reason. Though they're right he's suddenly a bigger jerk in the second season, but still, Inami's flaws can't be easily be forgiven or ignored like that!

You see, Inami has androphobia or [[DoesNotLikeMen fear of men]], and she punches any man that gets anywhere near her. Despite that ''evident'' flaw, she works in a ''family restaurant''. The HandWave is the boss doesn't really care, but when you've got a waitress that can't serve most customers and keeps breaking the walls, she should either be fired or the restaurant should be in bankrupcy, [[FridgeLogic but she has no problem keeping her job]]. Even worse because Aoi is called out when she breaks a plate, which is bad but MUCH less than Inami's violence. The second thing is her relationship with Souta, the aforementioned protagonist. However, because of her androphobia she can't get close to him without hurting him, which obviously he doesn't like since this isn't ''{{MM}}'', [[AbuseIsOkayWhenItsFemaleOnMale but everyone in-series treats him as the bad guy if he gets angry, while she never gets called out]]. Because of that and the lots of focus the relationship gets, it's considered a RomanticPlotTumor and it shows no signs of doing anything but get worse. No wonder in the second season he TookALevelInJerkass, as dealing with someone like that would drive anyone mad. Even worse, when Takanashi is asked why he doesn't like Inami, he doesn't say "Because she hurts me hard when I get close to her, anyone would do the same", that'd e be ''logical''. No, he pulls out his FreudianExcuse of "ALL WOMEN OLDER THAN ME ARE EVIL!", and while it makes sense for him to think like that since he has 4 terrible older sisters, the fact he can't name a reason to dislike Inami that technically is her fault, when such a reason ''actually exists and is [[AWorlwidePunomenon painfully]] obvious'', proves why she belongs her.here.

* ''Anime/MacrossFrontier'': Ranka Lee, and to a certain extent Sheryl Nome as well. The show's director Kawamori is notorious for his love of Ranka, but his enthusiasm only seems to make her more and more unlikeable. On the flip side, the writer Yoshino is a self-professed Sheryl fanatic. His bias has been criticized as the cause of the extreme contrast between Sheryl's favorable portrayal against Ranka's not-so-positive image. As the accusation goes, Yoshino wanted to promote his pet character Sheryl, so he makes Ranka a selfish obnoxious brat, and turns Sheryl into a mature and perfect [[MarySue Mary Sue]].

* ''KirbyOfTheStars'': Many of the members of the ''{{Kirby}}'' fandom love the games but absolutely despise the anime, in part because it's only loosely based on the games, and partly because it adds a new character, Fumu (named Tiff in the dub), who essentially steals the spotlight away from Kirby so she can occasionally deliver [[GreenAesop environmentalist messages]], and since Kirby is [[JustAKid only a baby]] in the anime, she practically has to tell him what to do. Had the anime been about ''Kirby'' and not this ridiculous new character from nowhere... well, it'd probably be much better off.

* ''{{Yu-Gi-Oh GX}}'': Johan/Jesse Anderson was the first undisputed CreatorsPet (not to mention MartyStu) of the franchise, stealing the spotlight from Judai's friends and becoming the secondary protagonist during the third season. It was hinted that Johan may have known Judai before, and he was TheChosenOne of something, however neither point was elaborated on. Thus in essence, Johan became Jaden's best friend in only a few episodes, but there was no real reason given why he was so important. A major part of the season revolved around the protagonists getting sent to an alternate dimension and trying to find a way home. And they did...by having Johan get his ultimate monster Rainbow Dragon. Oh yes, and when he and Jaden dueled the BigBad, Johan performed a HeroicSacrifice to send him home. From there on the series focused on Jaden and his friends getting ''back'' to the alternate dimension to save Johan who had been left behind. He would return in the 4th season, where once again teamed up with Jaden to duel the main villain again.
* ''{{Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds}}'': Crow, commonly hated for being a CanonSue due to his CommonMarySueTraits--childhood friend of TheHero and TheRival, GameBreaker deck, a ''flying'' D-Wheel, and is adored by the children of the city. His importance to the series and the hatred he got from the fans would only increase as [[spoiler:he became the Fifth Signer and got a Blackwing-themed Dragon to go with the position]], both events retconning the backstory that is the basis of the entire series. As of the second season Crow was the third-billed hero of the show second only to Yusei and Jack, but his character was nowhere near as explored or developed.

* ''SoulEater'' has Black?Star. Some may see his personality as something charming or amusing, but all in all he's egocentric and refuses to admit his faults even when he keeps making them.

* ''[[{{ptitlej8ixspaskltm}} D.Gray-man]]'' has developed their own Wesley in the form of Johnny. Initially a very minor and forgettable character that would appear among the other members of the Science Department. But clearly through the power of the mangaka's love, Johnny's role in the manga increased tenfold after the arc with Noah's Ark, appearing more in the manga than the second main protagonists Lavi and Lenalee. And while he is supposed to be a normal human, he seems to live through ''several'' near death experiences and injuries that are fatal to more minor characters, much to the chagrin to the fanbase. When he isn't nearly dying, he is crying or thinking about Allen Walker (the main protagonist) in a very obsessive way. We're also supposed to assume that Allen and Johnny are close friends, though this friendship was never seen developed on screen even though 80-90% of the manga focuses on Allen's life and experiences in the Order. To find a fan who loves Johnny is extremely rare in the fanbase, most seem to simply wish for him to go away and for Hoshino to remember she has other characters.

* ''KeroroGunso'': Joriri, an anime exclusive character. An annoying, one note joke, poor role model who apparently taught many lessons to the young Keroro and friends. Did i mention he wasn't mentioned until 150 + episodes in? Fans tolerated his presence in the fan favorite flashback episodes...until he appeared in the present, bumming it in the base. That officially graduated him into Wesley territory.

*** And now more people are beginning to hate him. Mostly because he got [[GodModeSue way too powerful in such a short time]] (in contrast to Sasuke who worked hard for his abilities and, everytime he develops a new technique, [[TheWorfEffect gets beaten up just to show how strong another character is]]), steals the spotlight from other characters, effortlessly beats up everyone who stands in his way, declared himself the savior and told his comrades that they should stay out of this war, because he has to do everything himself. Thankfully Itachi (ironically another CreatorsPet) [[WhatTheHellHero called him out on this.]]
**** Sasuke? Worked hard for his abilities? Seriously, his last couple powerups came by virtue of being of the uchiha bloodline and he gets them just as he is about to get beat down. Then again, sasuke has a bad habit of underestimating his opponants and over estimating his own skills and power to the point that without these coveniant new abilities or an ally or two saving his ass he would have been dead long ago. There is a reason why sasuke is a first wesley listed on this page.
**** He did work hard for his abilities, but his training happens offscreen. His Amaterasu was activated due to memories of Team 7 and his allies risking their lives for him. His Susano'o had proper {{Foreshadowing}} and didn't save his life the moment it was activated the first time. The only [[{{Asspull}} Aspulls]] I can remember happened in his fight against Deidara.
** Despite her status as an EnsembleDarkhorse, the people at Studio Pierrot seem to love [[BaseBreaker Hinata]] to the point that it annoys her haters or people who don't care about her either way. In the fillers, she was given more screen time and actually [[AdaptationalBadass won a few battles]]. This was evident in episode 166. While some fans enjoyed that episode, some were outraged that they expanded her fight with Pein. Her status as a Studio Pierrot Wesley is even [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] in an after-episode omake where Sakura is angry at Hinata for hogging the limelight, and Naruto tells her it's not Hinata's fault, it's the fault of the many fans that are on the anime staff.
* ''Anime/{{Pokemon}}'' often has a problem in balancing the screen time of the titular creatures. Ash used to be criticized for his overuse of Pikachu back in the day but Piplup is the most blatant Wesley, being constantly forced as the secondary mascot of the series while Dawn's other Pokemon rarely get a chance to shine. Still, for what it's worth, Piplup's over-exposure on the show has also cemented him as the very definition of the ButtMonkey when it comes to the Pokemon themselves.

Her status as a Studio Pierrot Wesley Pet is even [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] in an after-episode omake where Sakura is angry at Hinata for hogging the limelight, and Naruto tells her it's not Hinata's fault, it's the fault of the many fans that are on the anime staff.
* ''Anime/{{Pokemon}}'' often has a problem in balancing the screen time of the titular creatures. Ash used to be criticized for his overuse of Pikachu back in the day but Piplup is the most blatant Wesley, Creator's Pet, being constantly forced as the secondary mascot of the series while Dawn's other Pokemon rarely get a chance to shine. Still, for what it's worth, Piplup's over-exposure on the show has also cemented him as the very definition of the ButtMonkey when it comes to the Pokemon themselves.

These two things, plus his bratty behavior and the fact that the plot of Slayers Revolution all but revolves around him definitely makes him a contender for Wesley-dom.

* ''TransformersArmada'': Alexis, Rad and Carlos lived somewhere between DamselScrappy and TheKidWithTheRemoteControl for most of the series, then quickly spiraled into Wesley territory when they used their Super Special Awesome powers of Mini-Con communication to [[spoiler: single-handedly bring down planet-eating BigBad Unicron.]]
