The plan superseded a previously announced international expansion of Disney-controlled American streaming service Creator/{{Hulu}}, which has only expanded outside the United States to Japan[[note]]and the Japanese version of Hulu is now InNameOnly, having been acquired by Nippon TV and featuring dramatically different programming; unlike the US, Star will also be available in Japan.
