Morning Sun (also known as Chao Yang and Morning Sun Animation Group) is a Taiwanese animation studio in Taipei with satellite studios in Hong Kong and Shanghai, China and business offices in the US. It was founded by Ong Ah Chuan in the 1980’s. In 1989, Morning Sun became one of the first Taiwanese animation companies set up on the mainland, which set up a subsidiary in Shanghai; at the time, it was a subcontractor to the state-owned Creator/ShanghaiAnimationFilmStudio along with [[Creator/ShanghaiAnimationFilmStudio Shanghai Yi Li Mei]]. It was also set up a subsidiary in Hong Kong. In 1992, Morning Sun has opened a Los Angeles office in the United States and one of the first Western companies to come in contact with the studio was Prrfect Animation in San Francisco along with the state-owned Creator/ShanghaiAnimationFilmStudio and [[Creator/ShanghaiAnimationFilmStudio Shanghai Yi Li Mei]]. From 1992 to 1999, Alexis Wallrich was the chairman, president, general manager, senior vice-president, executive producer and CEO of Morning Sun. In 1996, Alexis Wallrich promoted to executive vice-president at Morning Sun Animation Group, Inc. Wallrich will continue to oversee all operations, including business affairs, development and production, at the US office of the largest foreign-owned animation studio in Taiwan. Morning Sun Animation Group, Inc. animates shows such as Life With Louie, as well as two upcoming Brave Little Toaster Sequels, The Fantastic Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor and Zorro. Morning Sun also produced TV commercials, promos, and network ID's for clients like MTV USA, MTV Asia and Channel [V]. Other recent work in 1994 by the company includes a series of several ID’s for the launch of Channel [V], a new Asian satellite music television channel part of the STAR TV Network. Since the 1980’s, the company has done animation for both WesternAnimation and {{Anime}} shows.
