María Elena Walsh was the most renown, cherished and popular of the Argentine poets, singers, songwriters and composers. She was known as a cultural hero and LivingLegend until 2011, when she passed away, specially by her songs and books for children, like Song/LaTortugaManuelita (''Manuelita the Turtle''), Song/LaReinaBatata (''the sweet potato queen''), Song/LaMarchaDeOsías (''TheMarchOfOsías''), or Literature/DailanKifki. Almost every child born in {{Argentina}} and LatinAmerica since she started writing and singing holds a very dear place for her in his heart.
