** The back cover of another tape, called "Birthday Bash", states that it has a ''Sheep in the Big City'' bonus toon. It's actually the ''Courage the Cowardly Dog'' episode "Journey to the Center of Nowhere". Maybe the two covers were switched around?

* The ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' Season 1 DVD box set prominently features Princess Cadance on the disc 3 label art. [[EarlyBirdCameo Cadence wasn't introduced until the finale of ''Season 2'']].
** The cover art for the DVD ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'': "Adventures in the Crystal Kingdom" shows the Mane Six all in new crystal forms. Forms that the cast only take at the end of the [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS3E1TheCrystalEmpirePart1 two]] [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS3E2TheCrystalEmpirePart2 parter]], and which only get a minute or two of screen time. Furthermore, the bright colors and smiles on everyone's faces give no indication that "The Crystal Empire" is one of the series' darker adventure episodes.

* ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'': The posters and cover art for the movie ''Across the 2nd Dimension'' solely features the alternate selves of Phineas, Ferb, Candace, Perry and Doofenshmirtz, with the "real" versions nowhere in sight. The first three are only supporting characters who don't play a big part until the ending. Averted with the junior novelization cover which shows both the real and alternate selves together. In the same art, alternate Phineas and Ferb are shown to have the same skin tone as their real selves, when in the animation, alternate Phineas and Ferb have much paler skin that makes them appear to be greyscale.

* The poster and VHS/DVD cover for ''WesternAnimation/TheYearWithoutASantaClaus'' shows Santa riding in a sleigh pulled by [[WesternAnimation/RudolphTheRedNosedReindeer a red-nosed reindeer.]] But in the actual special, Rudolph doesn't appear; the reindeer in the picture is just a recoloring of a regular black-nosed reindeer.

* The back cover of the ''WesternAnimation/RoliePolieOlie: A Zoo Story'' claims that Pappy appears in "What to Be", but he actually doesn't.

** The ''Franchise/FelixTheCat'' video depicts Felix [[https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/21Hhw5UBZOL._AC_UF1000,1000_QL80_.jpg performing on stage with his Magic Bag]] The actual Felix cartoon on the tape, one of the Creator/VanBeurenStudios ''Rainbow Parades'' cartoons, predates the creation of the Magic Bag by a couple decades

** The ''WesternAnimation/{{Droopy]]'' tape depicts [[https://64.media.tumblr.com/e0b896e5bb211fd74b18434d60cb210d/tumblr_mvr9k7oXkR1s29f4ko5_400.jpg Droopy as a matador facing an angry bull]], a scene from "Senor Droopy" (also a copyrighted short). The only cartoon with a dog on the tape isn't even a Droopy cartoon, but the Creator/FamousStudios cartoon "Hector's Hectic Life".

It also quotes a review saying "you'll have the laughs of your life!" which makes the film out to be a comedy.

* When ''WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriends'' moved to RTL Telekids in the Netherlands in 2015, most of the pictures used to promote the show were from the model series. In reality, Telekids only aired series 18.

* Various Franchise/{{Transformers}}-related DVD covers. The Hungarian boxart for the [[WesternAnimation/TransformersTheMovie 1986 animated movie]] and the disk itself showcases screencaps and promo art for Franchise/GIJoe. Meanwhile, a German cover has Optimus Prime from the ''Anime/TransformersArmada'' cartoon on it, with the background being a promo shot from the Creator/MichaelBay [[Film/{{Transformers}} films]], and the back cover showing stills from the Armada video game (!). Another German release just uses stills from the ''Franchise/TransformersGeneration1'' animated series and a sticker album cover. The Family Home Video release of the "Five Faces of Darkness" five-parter is particularly odd in that, aside from an EvilOverlooker Quintesson face, it has almost nothing to do with the episode in question, throwing together a bunch of characters from 1990-contemporary toy lines seemingly without regard for who actually appears in the show (considering the episode was first aired in 1986, almost none do). Most notably, Optimus Prime (in his Powermaster body, which he never assumed in the cartoon continuity) is front and center on the cover even though he's supposed to be ''dead'' when the episode takes place.
