* CorruptedCharacterCopy: The living Captain Fortesque, with none of his skeletal self's noble qualities or character development, is shown to be a such a pompous {{jerkass}} that the future Sir Dan almost doesn't recognize him. [[spoiler:With history altered, Captain Fortesque becomes a fully fledged AlternateSelf of Sir Dan; still a skeleton thanks to a FreakyFridayFlip, but without having participated in the Battle of Gallowmere or any of Dan's following adventures. * ElectronicEyes: [[spoiler:A magical version in the form of an Egyptian artifact left in Princess Kyia's tomb as a romantic gift for Sir Dan, apparently intended as a replacement for the eye he famously lost in the Battle for Gallowmere. In the modern day, the eye is being worn by Dan's skeleton, though with the implication that the past Captain Fortesque is the one who took the eye for himself.]]

* NarratorAllAlong: The framing story features a man in bandages and sunglasses talking to Professor Darrow, an archaeologist in present day Cambridge who has devoted her life to studying Sir Dan, and detailing his ultimate fate after the events of ''[=MediEvil=] 2''. [[spoiler:At the end of the story, Darrow finds the man's story incredible and asks him how he could possibly know what he knows; he replies, "Because I was there", and reveals himself to be none other than Dan, most likely the past version of Dan stuck against his will in the original's skeletal body.]]
