* Moon Ray Vaughoof's entry notes that he's a powerful psychic who specializes in [[{{Seers}} precognition]], and his Ascension enhanced his prophetic dreams to the point where they're more potent than Bossa Nova's. However, training under the Three Deaths led to him manifesting other abilities like [[MindOverMatter psionic telekinesis]], telepathy, and [[TheEmpath empathy]]. His Death domain also gives him [[SpiderSense clairvoyance]] that allows him to sense people's impending deaths.

** Golden Scepter, a surviving antediluvian Alicorn Emperor from the Alicorn Civilization, is an "Antecedent"-type god, meaning that he's ''extremely'' ancient, and ''extremely'' powerful compared to the newly-Ascended Alicorns of current generations, including his nineteen sons, who are Alicorn demigods. He's one of the strongest psychics on Equus, to the point where his entry mentions that even the mightiest Alicorns couldn't hope to match his potent mind. Even one of his mortal Pony generals, General Aurum Lupus, had to rely on divine empowerment to even confront him during the "Aurum Apostasy" conflict after he [[FaceHeelTurn turned traitor]]. As such, any attempt to fight him will almost always result in an extremely one-sided CurbStompBattle. However, it's stated in his own entry that he often takes the form of a rather normal-looking Alicorn when among mortals, and the truth is that, like Queen Mzazi and Isati, he's a benevolent HumanoidAbomination who is ''much'' more powerful in his true form.

While he isn't a "[[TheAce prodigy deity]]" like Blue is, being a Death god automatically makes him powerful, as he can [[SpontaneousWeaponCreation summon weapons out of thin air]], appear in multiple places at once, and has power over spirits of the deceased, including the power to free them from whatever is binding them to the mortal planes. His Music domain gives him control over both MagicMusic and [[MakeSomeNoise sound magic]], and he has almost all the same abilities as Blue, who taught him how to use said abilities. ** Naturally, [[DeityOfHumanOrigin becoming an Alicorn]] (if you don't have wings already) gives you this. However, according to Mzazi, the Mother of All Zebra and a Zebralicorn, once they get old enough Alicorns and their derivatives grow additional sets of wings with age. Luminiferous is at the age when he'll begin to grow his second set (being several hundred thousand), while Mzazi has eight wings due to being 4 million years old. Before that, they get a gradient to them (which both Mzazi and Luminiferous possess), with Cadence's gradient and the one Twilight gets in Rainbow Power being indicators of them having extraordinary potential. Ascending Dawn and Golden Scepter, both older Alicorns, have six wings and are both on their way to develop a fourth pair due to being "[[TheAce prodigy]]" deities, while Equus, the Alicorn progenitor of sapient Equinekind, also has eight like Mizazi.

** Blue Suede Heartstrings is one due to being an [[WingedUnicorn Alicorn]]. It's stated that he has an extremely impressive mastery over music in general, given his origins as a famous musician, and after becoming the god of Music, he's very skilled and creative with it. His domain of Humility gives him telepathy, empathy, and [[{{Seers}} precognition]], and his domain of Performance gives him [[VoluntaryShapeshifting shapeshifting abilities]] and enhanced combat skills thanks to his domain of Performance. Lastly, he is a Love deity who embodies Philia Love, allowing him to see the bonds of friendship that tie mortals and/or divines together. Due to his humble character, though, [[GodInHumanForm he often takes the form of a mortal]], though it's implied that his mortal forms are no slouches, either. His entry notes that he is a "prodigy" deity, which gives him an accelerated rate of physical and magical growth compared to normal deities, and is already showing signs of growing a second pair of wings. And because he was born in the early Second Age, he's ancient enough for people to start making guesses as to what his origins story is.
** Bossa Nova Heartstrings, Blue's older twin brother is one due to being an [[WingedUnicorn Alicorn]]. ** As an "Antecedent"-ranked Zebra goddess, Queen Mzazi is one. As a goddess of Alchemy, she's one of the most powerful alchemists and potion-makers on Equus (and has mentored younger deities who share her domain or partake in the craft). She can generate lightning potent enough to electrocute Giants and Dragons if she chooses, and has created cataclysmic lightning storms for both offense and protection (one imperialistic fleet was wiped out down to its last soldier for trying to invade Zebrica, and Zebrica itself is surrounded by a storm whenever she goes traveling). This comes from being a goddess of Nature, though [=Kendell2=] has stated that she embodies the stormy aspects of it rather than [[GreenThumb plant manipulation]] as Nature-based deities usually have. And due to being extremely ancient, her divine strength is proportionate to her "age" and she is incredibly well-versed in magic in general. As a hallmark of her "age", her true form as a Zebralicorn goddess is a gigantic HumanoidAbomination with a mane and tail composed of lightning storms, wing feathers made of lightning, and a magical wing gradient going from pink to mint-green.
** Prince Healing Song is one, due to being an Alicorn god from the Second Age. Like Blue Suede Heartstrings, his mentor, Healing Song has an incredible mastery over music, which manifested as the Music domain when he Ascended to godhood. Unlike Blue, though, he is skilled in using its healing/empowering aspects and mostly chooses to do that over using music to attack people. His Potential domain gives Healing Song potent [[{{Seers}} precognitive abilities]] and the ability to empower allies with their future potential, and his Teaching domain gives Healing Song a psychic intuition that allows him to adapt to his students' needs and learning developments. His Psionics domain gives him great psychic abilities like telepathy and psionic telekinesis, and coming under the tutelage of Emperor Golden Scepter and his son, Prince Crimson Star, has given Healing Song new psychic abilities and made him even more powerful. Being a "[[TheAce prodigy deity]]" also makes him stronger compared to "normal" deities in overall power and growth. However, because of his [[MartialPacifist pacifistic beliefs]], Healing Song mostly chooses to serve a healing/support role and only uses his offensive abilities when necessary, though this has prevented him from fighting effectively at times.
** As an Alicorn, Prince Sparkling Wing is one, despite being one of the younger members of the Church. Notably, he is skilled with [[WeatherManipulation weather magic]], a powerful [[TheEmpath empath]], and can [[SuperEmpowering empower mortals]] and forge temporary bonds that allow them to share each other's abilities [[ThePowerOfFriendship based on how deep they trust each other]].

** Inverted with Emperor Golden Scepter. His true form is an incredibly ancient, six-winged Alicorn god whose hair is made of black spatial energy, and his wing feathers are made of holy fire. In addition, he has a [[HolyHalo shining halo]] behind his head. It's implied by a Codexverse quote that he only reveals this form when there's no other way or when he's extremely pissed-off, as he doesn't want to cause collateral damage, which means that his "default" form - that of a rather normal-looking, yet still tall black-haired Alicorn - is nothing but a [[GodInHumanForm magical disguise]].

*** Prince Night Shade has telepathy, psionic telekinesis, empathy, and precognition thanks to being one of Golden Scepter's sons and being taught by his father in using psionic magic when he was very young. However, after he was found and healed by Luminiferous and Dazzleglow in the Second Age, Golden Scepter [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone realized the sheer horror of his actions]] and, with Luminiferous's help, atoned for his crimes by [[WalkingTheEarth wandering all over Equus]] to learn from the examples set by both mortals and divines. His journeys, as well as divine therapeutic help from Mentálne, would influence him to become much kinder and benevolent, and he was able to become a proper ruler who truly cares about his subjects and Ponykind in general.
*** ** After becoming a father of many demi-divine sons, however, Golden Scepter naturally became protective of them, even if his sons are threatened by [[CainAndAbel their own brothers]].

** The Deer god Belyolen was intended by his father, High King Irminsul, to become a divine force of good and benevolence. To that end, he attempted to cast a ritual on his then-unborn son to get rid of all his flaws and darker urges, so only compassion would be left. [[GoneHorriblyWrong Unfortunately]], this resulted in the birth of Belyolen's younger twin, Temnobog, the living embodiment of everything Irminsul tried to destroy. While he was favored and respected by his family and fellow gods, Belyolen did not agree with Temnobog's emotional mistreatment, and after he overheard his family considering the option of [[OffingTheOffspring killing Temnobog altogether]], he rebelled by shaming his family for their arrogance and abusive hypocrisy, and left with several of his brothers and sisters to form the Bogolenya pantheon. This in turn makes him a ''true'' paragon, unlike his petty and hypocritical family and peers.

** Much like his parents, Kúzelník has psychic powers as part of his Sorcery domain, such as telekinesis, telepathy, teleportation, and empathy. He can do AstralProjection for certain attacks, though that leaves him vulnerable to threats designed to attack astral beings. He also has Irminsul's precognitive abilities, which he inherited from his father. By his own admission, though, he believes that his friend, Prince Crimson Star, is the better psychic among them due to embodying Psionics and being more adept with his powers. He is also dwarfed by Crimson Star's father, Golden Scepter, who also embodies Psionics but is much more ancient and powerful.
** Kúzelník's older brother, Cernunnos, has telepathic and empathic abilities like his parents, though this is because he inherited his domain of Animals from his father.

** This happened to Blue Suede Heartstrings in one incident. ** It's mentioned in a few entries that Golden Scepter has this kind of relationship with Temnobog, the Dark One. Despite both of them being night and day in terms of personality, beliefs, and abilities, and despite Temnobog being the ''last'' sort of person that someone like Golden Scepter would want to associate with, they were nevertheless able to become good friends. Part of the reason is that, as a highly beloved ruler and [[AnthropomorphicPersonification the living embodiment of Ponykind]], Golden Scepter represents [[ForWantOfANail the god Belyolen and Temnobog could and should have been]]. But a canonized Codexverse quote also reveals that he and Temnobog became friends because, after hearing of the latter's emotionally abusive past, Golden Scepter was incredibly empathetic and treated him kindly, [[YouAreNotAlone even going out of his way to help him and his brother]] despite Temnobog being a GodOfEvil. Some of Golden Scepter's sons see this as rather odd, with Written Word [[GoodCannotComprehendEvil finding it baffling that someone like his own father would befriend an Evil deity like Temnobog]], though he would eventually get over this and befriend (or at least tolerate) Phykti, Temnobog's eldest daughter. Pokhot, Temnobog's youngest daughter, see nothing wrong with it and often plays "[[SecretTestOfCharacter games]]" of temptation with them whenever they visit the Bogolenya pantheon, as her way of being friendly with the children of a god who's friends with her father.

It's revealed in Canteros' entry that Canteros was responsible for Golden Scepter befriending Temnobog in the first place; as Temnobog [[IJustWantToBeLoved only wanted to be loved and respected]], Canteros pulled some strings to ensure the Deer god of Evil's emotional recovery from the Elternteil Deer Pantheon's emotional abuse, "[[TheEmpath nudging]]" empathetic individuals like Upepo, Golden Scepter, and Kaldr to Temnobog so he could receive a steady stream of support.
** Much like Golden Scepter and Temnobog before them, Blue Suede Heartstrings and Prince Stoltur Skjöldur also have this kind of friendship, despite the latter's inner Evil and overall vain nature. As it turned out, they countered and balanced each other at the same time; as the Alicorn god of Humility, Blue decreases pride so he could redeem mortals and help them [[TookALevelInKindness become kinder]], while Stoltur, the Deer god of Evil and Pride, increases pride to weed out the wicked. Blue also serves as a calming influence on Stoltur because he can [[TheEmpath radiate an empathic aura that lessens pride]], something the latter appreciates. In turn, Stoltur has been encouraging Blue to have a little more pride in himself because he often gave himself too little credit for his own accomplishments, even when it's well deserved, and having too little pride is as bad as having too much. Canteros hints that they might become lovers in the future, due to their compatibility and closeness as friends.

Added DiffLines:

** This would happen to High King Irminsul twice.
*** After an ''enraged'' Golden Scepter confronted him in his true divine form and gave him an ''epic'' TheReasonYouSuckSpeech in front of the entire Bogolenya Deer Pantheon, Irminsul was left so terrified that he avoids visiting the Bogolenya Deer Pantheon in general on the off-chance that Golden Scepter might be there as well.
*** After learning that an outsider, Blue Suede Heartstrings, convinced a few Alvslog Deer to abandon their prideful, racist, reactionary, and self-righteous ways, he planned to punish the Alicorn god of Music and Humility for "stealing" away his mortal subjects. However, his son Belyolen pointing out the possibility of facing Golden Scepter's terrible wrath again if Blue were to be harmed quickly nips that plan in the bud, forcing both Irminsul and the Elternteil Deer Pantheon to back off and leave Blue alone.

Added DiffLines:

*** While visiting the Bogolenya Deer Pantheon, he found Belyolen and Temnobog heatedly arguing with their father, High King Irminsul, who was also visiting. The horrible things Irminsul said about Temnobog and the non-Deer/hybrid Bogolenya deities enraged Golden Scepter to the point where he revealed his true divine form, and confronted the High King in front of everyone. What followed next was a [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech dressing-down]] so vicious that Irminsul became deeply terrified of Golden Scepter and now stays far away from the Bogolenya Deer Pantheon on the off-chance that the Alicorn Emperor might be there if he decides to visit again.
*** He would reveal his true divine form again during the "Temptation Unbound" conflict after he discovered that a group of Fallen deities and their worshipers tried engineering the fracturing and downfall of his family, which infuriated him.
** Inverted and justified with Blue Suede Heartstrings. Because of his humility, he often appears as a mortal from various sapient races, not wanting to be treated differently for being divine. He only reveals his true form as an Alicorn god in necessary situations, such as confronting foes that he can't fight while in a mortal form.

However, there do exist male Alicorns in the Codexverse, albeit at a far lower number, and when the infant Alicorn Godling, Prince Léon Blueblood, was officially introduced to the public by Celestia, some saw Léon as a threat to Equestria's existing social hierarchy simply because to his gender. However, it's stated in his own entry that he often takes the world as they know it''.form of a rather normal-looking Alicorn when among mortals, and the truth is that, like Queen Mzazi, he's a benevolent HumanoidAbomination who is ''much'' more powerful in his true form.

** While still an InsufferableGenius at the time it happened, Prince Crimson Star, Golden Scepter's eighth son, was willing to go out of his way to save a classmate from an out-of-control carriage, blinding and horribly injuring himself in the process. This one act of kindness would prove instrumental in [[BreakTheHaughty shattering his inflated ego]], allowing him to become a much better person afterwards.

** The Equestrian Alicorn Princesses are confirmed as such; while they're implied to be younger than the Alicorns still living in the outside world, they're incredibly powerful, and [[AdaptationalBadass much more capable in canon]]. Celestia flash-fried a Kraken attacking Manehattan as soon the opportunity presented itself; and Cadence was able to beat up Fik'iri despite the latter being older than her, since Fik'iri is now her equal in power following her loss and de-powering in the "Abyssinian Divine Coup" event.
** Golden Scepter, a surviving antediluvian Alicorn Emperor, is an "Antecedent"-type god, meaning that he's ''extremely'' ancient, and ''extremely'' powerful compared to the newly-Ascended Alicorns of current generations, including his nineteen sons, who are Alicorn demigods. In addition, he's one of the strongest psychics on Equus, to the point where his entry mentions that even the mightiest Alicorns couldn't hope to match his potent mind.

** Golden Scepter is stated by his entry to be a very skilled fire mage. Unlike most mortals and divines, he wields [[HolyBurnsEvil holy fire]], which is capable of healing by burning away impurities and accelerate physical healing through heat, and purging targets of corrupt influences. This power proved incredibly handy in saving the Void Traveler's victims from DemonicPossession, and helped free various people from the thrall of Ispita the Deceiver and her various children/allies. He is famous for channeling this power through his trusty [[CoolSword divine sword]], which would be named ''[[NamedWeapon Fireslayer]], and passing on a portion of his power onto it so anyone else, divine or mortal, could wield it during a time of need.

* PseudocanonicalFic: ''Codex Equus'' is essentially this, with a heavy dose of WorldBuilding and FixFic. While it's set in the world of ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'', it combines various elements from both the entire ''My Little Pony'' franchise itself and other media, creating a greatly-expanded universe. It also deconstructs, reconstructs, and subverts certain tropes from canon to make the overall story and setting seem believable.
* PsychicPowers: Various individuals, both mortal and divine, wield this brand of magic, with varying degrees of power.
** Emperor Golden Scepter is the Alicorn god of Psionics, so naturally he's a master at this. Some of his powers include [[MindOverMatter telekinesis]], teleportation, telepathy, [[BarrierWarrior psychic barriers]], [[TheEmpath empathy]], precognition and retrocognition. It's noted that he's so powerful that one of his Imperium-era Generals, Aurum Lupus, was rumored to have relied on divine empowerment in order to beat and nearly kill him at all, and it was rumored that even the mightiest of Alicorns couldn't match his potent mind. The Imperium of Ponykind also had the largest numbers of psychic ponies thanks to his influence, and he intends to do it again in the Fourth Age. Many of his SemiDivine sons inherited some facet of his power from him, such as telepathy and/or empathy, but Prince Crimson Star, his eighth son, inherited and (supposedly) embodied all of his vast psychic powers, which he used to [[DisabilitySuperpower make up for his blindness]] after he [[EyeScream lost his sight]] saving a classmate in a horrible carriage accident.
** While the full scope of her powers are currently unknown due to her very young age, Mentálne, the Bogolenya Deer goddess of Psychology, has telepathy and telekinesis, the latter which is purely mental unlike the typical kind used by Deerkind and Draconequui. She also has the impressive ability to create a psychic realm that serves as an impromptu counselor's office, in which her patients can talk things out and even vent their repressed feelings on psychic dummies created out of psychic energy.

* OddFriendship:
** Crystal Prism would befriend Katastrofa, Ispita's youngest son, during the "Temptation Unbound" event. Katastrofa is an older deity and a apathetic nihilist whose [[{{Seers}} catastrophic foresight]] made him believe that [[BecauseDestinySaysSo he's only good at destroying things and making people miserable with his catastrophes]], even though he is very intelligent and kind and also embodies Creation. Crystal Prism is a young Alicorn demigod who has empathetic precognition, but actively helps people deal with stressful changes despite the incredible trauma he suffered in the past. Despite their differences and beliefs, they would hit it off easily, and it is believed in-universe that Katastrofa's Creation domain is quite similar to Crystal Prism's Rebirth domain.
** It's mentioned Golden Scepter has this kind of relationship with Temnobog, the Dark One. Golden Scepter's sons see this as rather odd, with Written Word [[GoodCannotComprehendEvil finding it baffling that someone like his own father would befriend an Evil deity like Temnobog]], though he would eventually get over this and befriend (or at least tolerate) Phykti, Temnobog's eldest daughter. Pokhot, Temnobog's youngest daughter, see nothing wrong with it and often plays "[[SecretTestOfCharacter games]]" of temptation with them whenever they visit the Bogolenya pantheon, as her way of being friendly with the children of a god who's friends with her father.

* OhCrap: During his talk with Temnobog, it slowly dawns on Crystal Prism that Queen Dazzleglow would likely not react well to hearing that Evil has a constructive place in Equus, and that her goal of breaking the Cycle might be foolish all along. Thankfully, Dazzleglow takes it in stride and privately clears up everything with Temnobog, leading to a better understanding of her motives on the dark god's part.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Generally justified, especially with divines, whose immortality stops them from aging at all, only getting StrongerWithAge, unless there are special circumstances that nullify it.
** It's noted in Noble Grace's entry that she's skilled in age-manipulation magic, an extremely difficult yet heavily-coveted skill among unicorns, making herself look far younger than her actual age and allowing her to continue staying in her prime. When a corrupted Page Wheel made her one of his first victims and drained all of her magic, she was reduced to her true age: An elderly and completely powerless unicorn mare.

* OneGenderRace: Subverted with the Alicorns; it's popularly believed that due to the abundance of female Alicorns, Alicorns in general are primarily female, and as a consequence, it is also believed that fillies and mares are more "worthy" and "capable" of Ascending, with proof lying in the fact that powerful mares like Princess Twilight Sparkle have often been chosen to Ascend. Luminiferous would firmly and soundly disprove this notion, stating that he has mentored both mares and stallions alike, and not all of them Ascended. The Equestrian Princesses agreed with him, adding that anyone becoming an Alicorn is a cause for celebration. It is also speculated by [=BrutalityInc=] that even before its fall, the Alicorn civilization did have males, but at a very low number as did their mortal counterparts.

** Prince Blazing Hoof, Golden Scepter's eldest son, wanted to give some Pony Autorists "a harsh yet just punishment" for attacking the Terran Empire and their subjects. However, his father, Golden Scepter, decided to pick a more merciful option by [[EmotionBomb personally showing the Pony Autorists the consequences of their hateful bigotry]], allowing him to weed out the unrepentant from those who displayed genuine remorse. When Blazing Hoof [[CallingTheOldManOut confronted Golden Scepter about it]], assuming the Pony Autorists were EasilyForgiven, Golden Scepter would explain that being harsh to everyone would only beget more hatred, and that it is sometimes best to show mercy to those who were simply misled, as all the Pony Autorists (save their leader, an genuinely unrepentant bigot until the end) were motivated to atone for their horrible actions because of the incident.
** Fanged Paw hated his younger brother, Crimson Star for being an InsufferableGenius, and would get into violent fights with him. After Crimson Star was blinded and fell into depression from both his crippling and his JerkassRealization, Fanged Paw would continue bullying and beating him up as to punish his brother for his actions. It's deconstructed in that his hatred is portrayed as disproportionate and petty, made even worse by the fact that Crimson Star himself believed being injured even further was "well-deserved", [[PayEvilUntoEvil and let those he wronged retaliate against him as they saw fit]]. If Blazing Hoof and Golden Scepter had not intervened, Crimson Star would have ended up dying from sustained injuries.
** After being blinded and having a JerkassRealization over his actions, Crimson Star became so depressed that he was willing to atone for his actions by becoming a SilentScapegoat, and letting everyone he had wronged, including his own brothers, retaliate against him as they saw fit. This is because he believed that further injury to himself was "well-deserved" and [[DeathSeeker not caring if he would end up dying or not]]. It would be deconstructed in that Golden Scepter saw this as excessive self-torture that wouldn't really solve anything except encourage people to [[NeverMyFault put blame on someone else rather than take responsibility for their own mistakes]]. After taking Crimson Star to the royal infirmary to recover from wounds given by [[BigBrotherBully Fanged Paw]], Golden Scepter would call out his son for forsaking everything, including his own life, for the sake of atonement while not caring about how his death might affect those who love him, and points out that there are ''better'' ways for him to make amends.

** Yarost, Temnobog's eldest son and child, is a skilled and powerful fire mage, which is rather appropriate [[PersonalityPowers since he embodies Deerkind's Fury and Hatred]]. Among his capabilities are {{Fireballs}}, [[BreathWeapon fire breath]], surrounding himself with heat, and summoning pillars of flame. When extremely angry, he [[BurningWithAnger covers himself in flames]]. It's noted by his entry that [[EmotionalPowers his fire magic is tied to his emotions]], so by constantly repressing his emotions, Yarost can control it better.

* ProperlyParanoid: Scarlet Bell feared the idea of Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker retaliating against her for ruining their work as a filly, which became one of the reasons why she moved to the Grittish Isles and settled down for a quiet life. Years later, after her grandniece, Midnight Bell, ran off alone to save Page Wheel, she quickly learned that she was right to be fearful, as [[AdultFear Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker were also in the same country]] ''by sheer coincidence''.

* PyrrhicVillainy: In the Codexverse, the inherent self-destructive nature of all things Evil and Villainous meant that no evil or villainy is sustainable in the long run, no matter how robust or how successful they are. The inverse however is also true for all things Good and Heroic, as they'll eventually fall to complacency and stagnation that makes them vulnerable to corruption and destruction, although it'll take much longer since they're not as inherently self-destructive. The only examples of evil AND good that does not fall to this is when both heroism and villainy exists in a [[BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil harmonious balance]].

** Noble Grace would lose everything twice because of interference from the Bell family, specifically Scarlet Bell and her grandniece, Midnight Bell, because they opposed her well-meaning yet horrific actions - she lost the resources and notes to continue her experiments, lost the magic that kept her young and was also one of her greatest assets, and would end up being exposed as an untrustworthy and villainous adult in the eyes of the public because of the harm she had caused. And while her experiments did result in Page Wheel becoming an Alicorn, she would never be able to enjoy the fruits of her labors with her arrest, and her intentions of heralding a "new age" for Ponykind will ultimately be for naught as Page Wheel, now Crystal Prism, [[ScrewDestiny was encouraged to forge his own path]] and now encourages Rebirth and Change through helping people deal with stressful situations and improving themselves.

To note, he ruined his Underhold in his brief tenures as an incompetent and reactionary royal official, triggered wars and worsened international crises just by being at diplomatic conferences for five minutes, and insulted Dragon Queen Tiamat so badly he nearly caused a world-wrecking conflict between the Dragon and the Diamond Dog races. * OurGiantsAreBigger: Prominently mentioned, with the Codex going into extensive detail in explaining their various behaviors and cultures, revealing they have considerable HiddenDepths than most small races assume they have other than just being violent, over-sized brutes.
** Cyclops in the Codexverse are complete opposites of what they are depicted both in-universe and in real-life, being a highly civilized race of artisans, scholars and BadassPacifist individuals who prefer not to use violence to solve problems unlike most other Giants. They're very disappointed that the actions of their exiles had tainted outsiders' perception of them to be nothing more than pony-eating savages.
** Nature Giants, among some of the biggest Giants on Equus, are a race of druids attuned to nature ruled over by a theocratic matriarchal monarchy. They use to be more friendly to Tinies, but a terrible experience with Grogar and Tambelon's desecration of their domains in the First Age irrevocably ruined their relationship with Tinies outsiders and promptly lead to their continued isolationism to this day.
** The Grand Griffons are a demigod race of giant Griffons who are directly or indirectly descended from the gods of Griffonkind, specifically Boreas and Astra of the Northern Griffon Pantheon. Honorable and noble, they go out of their way to protect innocent Tinies and serve as allies, guides and teachers of many great heroes of the Tauren Peninsula where they are primarily based, next to Griffonnia.
** Queen Colossos' Empire is a Giant civilization of nomadic warriors who conquered much of the continent of Terra Equus at its height which eventually went to war against the Crystal Empire after a disastrous FirstContact.
** The Gigantes of the Taurus Peninsula Giant Lands are mentioned as one of the most prominent on Equus, with a warrior culture based around honour. Their chief deity is Terraton, the god of earth, battle and honour.
** The Giants of Light are this among the [[SufficientlyAdvancedAliens 'Visitors']], with a culture which sees it a duty for them to battle evil monsters and threats and be benevolent defenders of Tinies and other races. Due to their small numbers, this makes evil individuals among them extremely rare. There's implication that he had no intent to survive this himself, making him [[PutThemAllOutOfMyMisery far more sympathetic]] than Ahuizotl, who kills because he sees death as a natural part of "The Cycle", and that [[ForTheEvulz it amuses him]].
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: Dr. Toxikon is one, with his plan thus far involving an in depth knowledge of psychology, biotechnology, and chemistry, and also has invented machines for construction. Justified, as he's a Dragon and thus had 5,000 years to learn and pursue degrees.
* OneManArmy: 'Visitors' have attacked both a Cloven base and Hive Brachion to [[RoaringRampageOfRescue save a Sparkle Ponies]] that were [[PapaWolf believed to be their offspring]]. Both did so alone and were effectively unstoppable. This is justified, as Visitors are implied to be aliens with power and technology that exceeds those of Equus.
* OneWingedAngel:
** Dreadmares possess the ability to do this if they gather enough fear, [[FusionDance fusing with their Terror]] to become a living storm shaped like a serpent. The first example of this was the mutant Dread.
** Zinabi, the previous TopGod of the Abyssinian Pantheon, does this after his opponent Jegina, the Abyssinian God of Courage and Heroism, managed to knock him off his feet and wound him in their duel for the throne of their pantheon. Zinabi sheds his AFormYouAreComfortableWith for his pure divine form, a titanic, Abyssinian-shaped storm singularity of cataclysmic power. Jegina follows suit shortly there after (after luring the battle to an area were mortals wouldn't be harmed), becoming a being of pure golden, heroic energy.
** Bolezn, Temnobog's second-youngest son and the embodiment of Gluttony, Greed, and Pestilence, has the ability to turn into a gigantic version of himself that's made of both fleshly and gem-plated insects/vermin. In this form, his powers are increased tenfold, and he's extremely hard to hit since parts of him can fly away to avoid attacks. Once he's done, however, he takes a while to rest and recover. Bolezn thinks that "One-Winged Angel" isn't an accurate way to describe his form, though, [[ComicallyMissingThePoint because if he really did go one-winged, he wouldn't be able to fly at all]].
** Yarost's ultimate form is an enormous, hulking, bloodthirsty dragon-like monster with black and red scales; rows of teeth literally made of sharp swords; long, spiraling horns; a spiky clubbed tail; two pairs of wings; and spikes made of flames. In this form, Yarost's physical strength and endurance are both enhanced tenfold, and his proficiency with fire magic increases, making him an absolutely devastating powerhouse that could potentially bathe Equus in blood and fire if he chooses to. However, he sees it more as a ClippedWingAngel form since it makes him more prone to rage and is ''incredibly'' destructive, and using that much power would only repeat the death and destruction he had previously caused in his grief, and only saves it for absolutely dire situations.
---> '''Yarost:''' I would rather fight my enemies in my weakest form first, than go all out and devastate the Deer realms with just a few strikes.
* OnlyTheChosenMayWield: A common enchantment for magical artifacts of enormous power.
** The Elements of Harmony, as in canon, are this, as are the Lights of the Seven Royals of Friendship Gardens. These are implied to be very similar powers.
** The Enchanted Throne of Friendship Gardens contains the Majestic Power, the magical power of [[WorldsStrongestMan the strongest mortal pony to ever live]] (heavily implied to be Queen Majesty), but will only give it (and thus the throne of Friendship Gardens) to one worthy. It's given it to heroes throughout history in times of great need, most recently Fluttershy, but most return it due to having no interest in ruling. Only Queen Sunsparkle has ever claimed it for any length of time, though she gave it up for a worthy successor to use so she could help those pony colonists who got stranded in space.
* OppositesAttract: Taken UpToEleven with Válka and his wife Mier, who are a WarGod and Goddess of ''Peace'' respectively. Mier balancing out Válka is one reason why he's the only one of his three siblings to ''not'' fall to evil. They're also SickeningSweethearts and deeply in love with each other.
* OrderVsChaos: Many conflicts between beings, factions and powers carries vibes of this.
** On top of it being [[ForTheEvulz amusing]], Discord's destruction of '[[{{Precursors}} The Ones Before]]' in Amorea and many other civilizations is described as especially beneficial to the Draconequus as they are bastions of order and stability whose existence is quite anathema to a Spirit of Chaos.
** The 500-years long "War Against Chaos" around 2,500 years before the present day of Equestria is essentially one, where a 'Celestial Alliance' of deities, immortals and races fought to contain the then-villainous Discord, his accomplices and their 'Disorder Lords' who had taken over the Equestrian subcontinent and wanted to takeover/remake the rest of the world. No guesses for who stands for Order and Chaos in this fight.
** The Progenitors of Changelingkind, personal animosity to Discord aside, are more or less foils to Discord in similar ways, both being the parents, originators and overarching rulers of [WIP]
* OriginsEpisode: The Storm King Crisis features one for the title villain.
* {{Orochi}}: A major villain in Neighpon's history, and his return is a major focus of many stories set there.
They have also sired hybrid giant demigods such as Lysets Far and Legate Anela, who would become heroes in their own right.

* TheParagon:
** Jegina, the Abyssinian God of Heroism and Courage, is this, seeking to be an ideal hero and inspiration for his kind. He's compared to a comic book superhero, even more so after becoming his Pantheon's TopGod.
** Luminiferous, despite being created to be the AntiChrist, ultimately chose to be this: he's God of Perfection, and unlike his father sees this as a call to be an ideal for others to be inspired by and strive to be rather than to lord over everything that's not him. He's regarded by others to be his father, as he should have been.
** Gleaming Shield and his various mortal incarnations are often lionized in-universe as this, being the Eternal Hero who will always rise up to rescue his Princess/Queen, Radiant Primrose, and defeat his Eternal Foe, Blood Fang. However, while he is a noble hero, the truth is that he's a flawed individual who had to work to become the celebrated paragon he is today, something that is accepted by the morally tolerant Erobreseg Deer herds. Others try to make him "perfect" by editing out his flaws altogether from their stories of him.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: Many deities, especially those with Karma as their domains, tend to dish this out to punish evildoers.
** Temnobog and his children, the Four Terrors, are very big on this, due to their views on the [[GoodNeedsEvil nature]] of [[BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil evil]]. Even before his reconciliation with his brother, Temnobog would curse those who he thought deserved it, bringing opposition from his good-hearted twin brother, Belyolen.
** Pakak, being a trickster god who embodies Karma, can be pretty brutal when he's punishing the wicked for their crimes, but never more than is deserved by their evil deeds. Just ask [[VideoGame/StoryOfTheBlanks Sunnytown.]]
** Being the in-universe embodiment of the CatharsisFactor, Katharsis likes to deliver humiliating LaserGuidedKarma to those who angered her. This does not mean she's a goddess of revenge, as she humiliates villains and other evildoers as a way to bring closure to situations and make them look pathetic in front of their victims.
** Changeling King Brachion of the Summer Court utterly destroyed an Alvslog Deer kingdom with an army of Changeling soldiers and biologically-engineered monsters on it, all to pay the royal family back for leaving him in a dangerous forest to die because he was a dormant Royal Changeling. The rumored things he did to his family were the stuff of nightmares, from subjecting his surrogate parents to horrific experiments to hunting, ravishing and eating his own surrogate siblings in forms of predatory beasts.
** Polistes did this twice.
*** After Blackthorn offered a chance to get revenge against the pegasi fanatics who tried to lynch him and his mother, he launched a plan where he secretly warned and evacuating the villagers who had nothing to do with their neighbor's crimes under the guise of "scouting" the place. When Blackthorn's raiders arrived to burn the village to the ground, they found that the place was deserted, save for the pegasi fanatics who were tied and blindfolded.
*** After learning that director Colton Marentino ([[NoCelebritiesWereHarmed a pony verison of]] Creator/QuentinTarantino) was abusing famed Griffon actress, Helga Greywing, and essentially holding her prisoner within her own trailer, Polisties launched the incredibly daring "Stolen Starlet Caper", rescuing Helga under the pretense of a kidnapping while he and his Wild Cards crew were disguised as cameramen. Then, after treating Helga to the celebration of her life on his airship, he helped her stage a dramatic escape that would not only increase her public standing as a hero, but also disgrace and blacklist Marentino after Helga exposed him for the abusive brute he is.
* PersonalitySwap: As in G1, Frazzits do this to those they effect.
* PetTheDog:
** Despite being an OmnicidalManiac who hates his own people and wants them destroyed, Xestobium shows some degree of kindness to both Polistes and Metamorphosis for being the only two of his brothers he ever actually liked due to being much more noble than their kin.
** Dr. Toxikon chose to spare Thorax and his New Changelings his genocide because of Ember and Thorax's friendship.
** King Brachion was so impressed by Fluttershy's refusal to break from learning the horrible truth about nature that he was willing to sponsor her animal sanctuary, being a Royal Changeling who is rich in bits. He also kept Fluttershy's thank-you letter as a treasured keepsake (as well as one of many closely-guarded secrets).
* PhysicalGod: An entire section of the codex is devoted to cataloging these. The Alicorn Princesses are confirmed as such. Deities in the Codexverse are defined by being composed and wielding Primordial Quintessence - magic in its basest, purest form as a primal force of nature.
* ThePigPen: The Changeling Queen Pentatomidae and her ''entire hive'' are this. Pentatomidae told her mother that when she was queen, she'd never make her hive take baths. [[ExactWords She wasn't joking]]. They smell so bad they can make an unprepared pony pass out, and Moufette couldn't stand her despite being a skunk.
* PintsizedPowerhouse:
** Queen Mab II, the Mother Goddess of the Breezies, isn't much bigger, being as big compared to them as Celestia is to a normal pony. A Yak king assumed her small size meant she was weak. He was promptly suplexed straight through the floor. Tiny or not, she's still a Goddess.
** King Sefyr, Mab II's husband and Father God of the Breezies, is also as small as his wife, but he's a powerful wind deity who at his strongest can create devastating wind-based storms, and is fast enough to ''run through people''. However, [[MoreDeadlyThanTheMale he considers Mab II to be more powerful as her flower magic is more useful and versatile in any given situation]].
** Queen Mab I, the mother of Mab II, is a small Fae goddess who not only had a nature-based portfolio, she could also wield Chaos magic like Discord. Her insanity makes her an extremely dangerous foe, using her powers to inflict [[BalefulPolymorph horrific transformations]], [[RealityWarper warp reality to her whims]], and cause [[ButterflyOfDoom "domino effects"]] that lead to utterly catastrophic disasters for anyone who tries to go after her. It took ''every'' Fae to seal her the first time, and it took ''even more'' people to defeat her the second time.
* PowerGivesYouWings:
** Naturally, becoming an Alicorn (if you don't have wings already) gives you this. However, according to Mzazi, the Mother of All Zebra and a Zebralicorn, once they get old enough Alicorns and their derivatives grow additional sets of wings with age. Luminiferous is at the age when he'll begin to grow his second set (being several hundred thousand), while Mzazi has eight sets due to being 4 million years old. Before that they get a gradient to them (which both Mzazi and Luminiferous possess), with Cadence's gradient and the one Twilight gets in Rainbow Power being indicators of them having extraordinary potential.
** In an inversion, the villainous unicorn trio Decepticolt, Zappityhoof, and Goldencap believed that ''wings'' would give them power, and to fulfill their goal of becoming Alicorns, they stole Rainbow Dash's wings by secretly amputating them for their own use. This ''enraged'' Princess Twilight Sparkle into sealing/stripping their magic indefinitely as punishment for their actions.
* PrinceOfPranksters:
** Arlequin is the literal Goddess of Pranks, and plays lighthearted pranks constantly, even on other gods. She gets it from her father Pakak, the God of Mischief and Discord's brother, who loves her pranks just as much.
** Prince Puck, Empress Blackrose's eldest son, is a literal Prince due to being a First-Spawn son of the Changeling goddess, Empress Blackrose. He's also a lover of pranks and is usually good-natured about it... but he'll resort to meaner pranks if someone has managed to incur his wrath.
* PrincessesRule:
** A double-subversion with the Crystal Empire, back when it was actually an empire. The official title was "Empress/Emperor", but in recent history it switched to a Princess system, which explains why Princess Cadence rules over the empire despite being... well, a Princess.
** The Equestrian Princesses, Celestia and her younger sister Luna, and Twilight all officially rule Equestria. Justified in that "Princess" is the highest official title in Equestria.
* PseudocanonicalFic: ''Codex Equus'' is essentially this, with a heavy dose of WorldBuilding and FixFic.
* PyrrhicVictory: The Crystal Empire managed to win victories against the Giants during their war with Queen Colossos' Empire 1,500 years ago, but many of them were wrought at a heavy cost. And it is all but stated at the start that they didn't even ''win'' it, merely surviving the onslaught, and the fallout of which would [[VestigialEmpire lead to their downfall]].
