Per TRS, Jerkass Facade is deprecated, primarily in favor of Hidden Heart Of Gold.

* HiddenHeartOfGold: Given how he softens up after being in the student council for some time, it’s clear that some of his initial {{Jerkass}} behavior was to mask his insecurity and wasn’t really genuine.

!! Midori Arisugawa
[[quoteright:156:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yamada-arisugawa_6710.png]]

One of the two new vice-presidents of the student council. Known as the "big-boobed airhead".

[[spoiler: When Miyamura is ousted at the end of her first year, she becomes a part of the new president Tamaki's student council, as vice-president again.]]

Apart from the student council, she is not a member of any clubs.

Ten years later, in the epilogue, she attends Yamada and Shiraishi's wedding, showing that she still keeps in touch with them, though it isn't known what she's otherwise up to.
----
* {{Adorkable}}: She acts a bit awkward during her initial time with the student council, but it's obviously played for cuteness. Later on, she often proves herself to have more refined social skills than most of the other members.
* AintTooProudToBeg: She drops to her knees and begs for forgiveness when Miyamura catches her and Kurosaki hatching secret plans about taking over the student council.
* BlindWithoutEm: Unlike most examples, she usually wears contacts instead of glasses, but she is still blind enough without them to not recognize Yamada on a close distance.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: She is silly, but she is smart, and she has proved herself to be very efficient at doing research - when the student council needs data about certain students, she's usually the one who collects it.
* BuxomIsBetter: Has ''huge'' breasts which makes her popular among some boys, though she claims to not like them herself.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Some of her initial major traits, like clumsiness/awkwardness and airheadedness, have practically disappeared in her later appearances. Granted, the latter was mostly an act, but she has still stopped playing dumb.
* CharacterTics: She has a strong tendency to pull out a DeclarativeFinger when telling people something. Of course, she's not the only character to do that, but she does it more often than the others.
* TheChick: Her role in the student council, being the girly and talkative member.
* ChildProdigy: She was one six years ago when she didn't only have really good grades and attended cram school, but also had plenty of other talents, like karate and playing the violin.
* CloudCuckooLander: She's not entirely there, so she's usually good for a weird idea or silly comment.
* CoolLoser: In the case of most characters with a FriendlessBackground, it's established that there is a clear reason why they don't have friends even though they are sympathetic people when you get to know them. In Arisugawa's case, there's no logical reason: She's friendly, outgoing, cheerful and humorous. She comes off as a person that at least some others would want to befriend...
* CovertPervert:
** She seems quite innocent most of the time (at least in the sexual way, since she is still a cunning schemer), but what's the first thing she does after [[spoiler: swapping bodies with Yamada]]? [[spoiler: Zipping down his pants and commenting that his penis looks different than Miyamura's.]]
** Even earlier on, she covers her eyes with her hands like a shy schoolgirl when Kurosaki strips down to his boxers, but allows herself to peek at him through her fingers.
* CramSchool: She attended one in elementary school. It's not known if she still does.
* TheCutie: She's sweet, [[CuteClumsyGirl a bit clumsy]], somewhat childish at times, and even has a teddy bear purse as her signature item.
* ADayInTheLimelight: [[spoiler: Chapter 113 which features Yamada swapping bodies with her.]]
* DCupDistress: She mentions in one of her early chapters that she never wanted her breasts to grow this big. She hasn't complained about it since and [[IHaveBoobsYouMustObey has even taken advantage of their size at one point]], so maybe she simply didn't want Odagiri to make fun of them.
* DeadpanSnarker: When she's not acting wacky, she can have a dry sense of humor. When her and Odagiri talked about [[spoiler: switching bodies with Yamada]], and Odagiri mentions that [[spoiler: "an innocent high school girl shouldn't just kiss a boy"]], Arisugawa instantly retorts "you're one to talk".
* DeclarativeFinger: She does this so often when telling people something that it's practically her CharacterTic.
* DemotedToExtra: [[spoiler: After the student council is dissolved and she starts helping Tamaki in the new student council instead of hanging out with Yamada.]]
* TheDitz: Subverted. She is introduced as a rather dense girl but it later becomes apparent that she is actually pretty damn smart - a bit absent-minded and [[CloudCuckooLander weird]], granted, but not stupid at all. In a flashback, she is said to have been a brilliant student before Suzaku.
* EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference: Her hair was not as thick when she first appeared and it was much more neatly combed compared to the spiky look it later takes. Her already big breasts also looked even bigger in her initial appearances.
* EroticEating: Not in the story proper, but on the not-very-subtle cover page of chapter 214, she can be seen drinking milk while wearing only a ModestyTowel, with milk dripping from her mouth and from the bottle onto her boobs.
* FilleFatale: Seems to have been this in her elementary school days as she mentions how she would kiss the boys in her class to make them happy.
* FriendlessBackground: Despite being very outgoing, she doesn't have any friends when she joins the student council.
* GagBoobs: Frequent source of comedy, though mostly in her earlier chapters.
* TheGadfly: She likes teasing others for fun, especially Yamada, Kurosaki and Odagiri.
* {{Gainaxing}}: Often, especially in her earlier chapters when her GagBoobs aspect was exaggerated more.
* GenkiGirl: She is very cheery and flighty.
* GirlsWithMoustaches: She puts on a fake moustache and calls herself Lincoln (and sits down in an armchair) whenever she wants to say something wise. (UsefulNotes/AbrahamLincoln had [[CriticalResearchFailure a beard but no moustache]], but this might just be [[TheDitz her being herself]].)
* GuileHero: For someone who was introduced as an airhead, she is incredibly cunning. She has shown to be very much aware of her own body language when she tries to charm people, and she manages to manipulate Yamada into [[spoiler: playing a body-swap game against his will, after which she easily fools people into thinking she's the real Yamada.]]
* HairAntennae: She has them, and per the trope description, she comes off as an [[TheDitz airhead]]... [[SubvertedTrope At the start]].
* IHaveBoobsYouMustObey: She tries to make Yamada look at her boobs from the right angle when she wants to curry favor. He does, but it doesn't quite work because he read her thoughts.
* JerkassBall: PlayedForLaughs, but she still seems uncharacteristically arrogant when she refuses to join the Supernatural Studies Club because it would be below her "social strata".
* ManipulativeBitch: Usually, her manipulation is fairly harmless and funny, but when she's at her worst, she can be this, most notably when she thinks up a plan that will make her and Kurosaki more popular with Miyamura, but with the end goal of taking over the school and making Kurosaki do the grunt work.
* MasterActress: [[spoiler: She is almost uncannily good at pretending to be Yamada when she has swapped bodies with him. The only one she cannot fool is Shiraishi who seems to pick up even the most subtle of Yamada's manners by pure instinct.]]
* MsFanservice: One of the most blatant {{Fanservice}} girls in the series. She has regular underwear shots (and even wears a G-string at one occasion) and is seen naked a couple of times. Her ginormous boobs certainly help her case.
* {{Muggle}}: She doesn't have any powers.
* NiceGirl: She's generally very good-natured (especially compared to the general JerkWithAHeartOfGold tendency of the series), though she can also be slightly mischievous and is a skilled manipulator.
* NiceToTheWaiter: Treated [[spoiler: Yamada, the unpopulary secretary,]] no different from the other student council members when she was being interviewed for the vice-president spot.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: [[spoiler: Yamada's mind-reading]] and various other scenes prove that a lot of her ditzy behavior is just to look cute so that people will like her. However, she is a bit confusing in that she seems to have a genuinely ditzy side to her that appears from time to time.
* PintSizedKid: While of average height in the present, she was pretty tiny as a 10-year-old, not even reaching to [[spoiler: present-day Kurosaki's waist.]]
* PluckyComicRelief: She rarely does anything really plot-relevant ([[spoiler: her "swap bodies with Yamada and praise us in front of Miyamura" scheme]] may be the only example), but she provides a lot of comedy.
* ThePollyanna: Despite having a FriendlessBackground, she is very cheerful and optimistic, trying her best to be a good vice-president and make friends with the other members.
* RoseHairedSweetie: She has pink hair and is mostly a very lively and nice person.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Although briefly covering up out of surprise, she didn't exactly make a big deal out of Yamada seeing her naked, neither when she thought he was the janitor, or when he landed on her in a SuggestiveCollision.
* SmarterThanYouLook: See TheDitz entry and how it's subverted. Her stereotypical "blonde, buxom bombshell" look (though a color spread proves she isn't actually a blonde) isn't something most would associate with smartness over all things.
* StepfordSmiler: Chapter 113 implies that this ''may'' be the case, going by her reaction when Yamada takes her workload and encourages her to go make friends. Or she's simply an optimistic [[ThePollyanna Pollyanna]].
* TheSmartGirl: She tends to play this role along with being TheChick in the student council, since she is often the one doing research.
* TaremeEyes: Fits with her friendly demeanor.
* TheTease: She does have some fun seeing others' reactions to her physical attributes, whether it's placing Yamada's hand on her chest or [[spoiler: hugging Kurosaki from behind while in Miyamura's body]].
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Kurosaki. They are always hanging out together, are (at least at first) the "normal" newcomers in the world of witches, and often pop up to say funny things.
* TooSmartForStrangers: Parodied when [[spoiler: Kurosaki travels back in time and meets her 10-year-old self. One gaze from him is enough for her to be convinced that he’s a creepy old man and that everything he does is an attempt to kidnap her.]]
* YouGetMeCoffee: She had hoped to do lots of useful stuff for the student council as a vice-president, so she is quite disappointed when the only task for her to do is making tea. Apparently, the purpose of the vice-presidents is not as much to do actual work as it is to simply be around so the president can judge if one of them is a fit successor.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: She has pink hair.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Jin Kurosaki]]
!! Jin Kurosaki
[[quoteright:166:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yamada-kurozaki_6859.png]]

The other new student council vice-president. Known as the "jerk assassin". [[spoiler: When Miyamura is ousted at the end of his first year, he becomes a part of the new president Tamaki's student council, as vice-president again.]]

[[spoiler: After some time, he becomes one of the new seven witches that have arisen after the original seven witch powers were erased, gaining the power of time-traveling.]]

Apart from the student council, he is not a member of any clubs.

Ten years later, in the epilogue, he has opened a curry shop.
----
* {{Adorkable}}: When he's around Miyamura, he becomes really awkward, but is also nicer than he otherwise tends to be. He can also seem a bit awkward when he hangs out with others, but that's due to bad social skills in general.
* AintTooProudToBeg: He drops to his knees and begs for forgiveness when Miyamura catches him and Arisugawa hatching secret plans about taking over the student council.
* BlessedWithSuck: [[spoiler:Even though his wish of getting a wish power comes true, it hasn’t proved be to a good thing for him yet. Indeed, the time travel power has the very annoying effect of forcing him to travel back in time every time he kisses, and in order to return to the present, he has to kiss the past self of the kissee which isn’t always very easy. While Yamada has made good use of the power a few times, Kurosaki himself seemingly hasn’t.]]
* BroughtDownToNormal: [[spoiler:Along with all other witches, he loses his power after Shiraishi, the "original witch", leaves the school.]]
* ButNotTooGay: He does have a crush on Miyamura, but it is (with the exception of a few {{Imagine Spot}}s here and there) treated more like very strong admiration instead of the sexual and romantic attraction seen with the heterosexual infatuations of the series.
* ButtMonkey: He is often teased by Arisugawa and can't make Miyamura notice him no matter what he does.
* ChekhovsGunman: [[spoiler: Like Asuka and Odagiri, he is a fairly unnoteworthy student council member (part of the main cast, granted, but not terribly important) until it is revealed that he's a witch. Unlike them, he wasn't a witch all along, but becomes one and probably wouldn't have become more important if that hadn't happened.]]
* TheComicallySerious: He often goes along with Arisugawa's wacky ideas while remaining completely serious or even angry. Examples are randomly stripping to attract a peeper, hiding under cardboard boxes to be on a "stake-out", and taking selfies with her while they're supposed to be working (though since [[spoiler:Arisugawa was in Miyamura's body]] when they were taking selfies, it may have been Kurosaki's own idea).
* ADayInTheLimelight: In chapter 123 when [[spoiler: it's revealed that he's a witch, and he uses his power to travel to Arisugawa's past.]]
* {{Delinquent}}: Subverted. He definitely gives off this vibe at the start, but he hasn't done anything outright bad - he's just not good with people.
* DemotedToExtra: [[spoiler: After the student council is dissolved and he starts helping Tamaki in the new student council instead of hanging out with Yamada.]]
* DivergentCharacterEvolution: Initially, he just seems to be a SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute of Inose due to his irritable demeanor and hoodie. When his crush on Miyamura is implied, it's clear that they're at least somewhat different, and he soon gets enough development and characterization to be much different from her.
* {{Flanderization}}: His infatuation with Miyamura has went from being fairly subtle at his introduction to being his defining character trait.
* FriendlessBackground: Due to being a loner by nature (and extremely awkward in his early high school days), he never had any friends before joining the student council.
* GayBestFriend: To Arisugawa, though it isn't emphasized a whole lot since he's a StraightGay. She just seems to be the only one who is actually aware of his crush on Miyamura.
* GetBackToTheFuture: His big problem when [[spoiler:he travels to the past the first time. At first, he has no idea how to return to the present, and when he finds out that he has to kiss Arisugawa again, it causes him many difficulties when he needs to kiss her without causing a stir]].
* HopelessSuitor: Since Miyamura doesn't notice his affections and has his own mind occupied with people like Yamada and Leona, it indeed seems like Kurosaki is fighting a hopeless battle.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: [[spoiler: He wishes he had a witch power so that he could be useful to Miyamura. Guess what he gets...?]]
* InTheHood: His trademark is that he wears a hoodie instead of the usual shirt or sweater of the school uniform. He's called an "assassin" as a probable ShoutOut to the ''Franchise/AssassinsCreed'' costumes resembling his hoodie.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: As revealed by [[spoiler: Yamada's mind-reading]], he actually has a certain amount of self-doubt because he thinks Miyamura doesn't care about/notice him. This manifests in him demeaning others instead.
* InformedAttractiveness: He is supposedly very attractive with all the girls swooning over him, and it's not like he's bad-looking, but he doesn't look like noteworthily different in terms of attractiveness than for example Yamada and Tamaki.
* {{Jerkass}}: At the start, he - while not completely obnoxious - does act somewhat antisocial and impolite and doesn't have many redeeming moments. Yamada considers him a jerk, hence the nickname.
* JerkassFacade: Given how he softens up after being in the student council for some time, it’s clear that some of his initial {{Jerkass}} behavior was to mask his insecurity and wasn’t really genuine.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: With time, he shows a softer side, managing to befriend at least Arisugawa and Yamada.
* LastNameBasis: One of the few characters who have never been referred to by their first names (he also never calls others by their first names).
* LovableCoward: Despite the slightly scary appearance he gives off at first, he's actually a bit of a scaredy-cat, given his comical fear of [[spoiler: Takuma]].
* MentalTimeTravel: [[spoiler: His witch power. He enters the past of the person he kisses and has to kiss their past self to return to the present. His body stays in the present while his mind travels to the past, though he gets a new body in the past. As a rule, the power makes him time-travel to the point in the past where his presence would cheer up the kissee the most. However, he can decide the point of time on his own if he can make the kissee think of something connected to that memory. He dubs this ability "Memory Dive". It's suggested that he can change the kissee's future retroactively by using the power, but not the general future of the world.]]
* MistakenForPedophile: [[spoiler: When he meets a six years younger Arisugawa in the past and has to kiss her to get back to the present. He doesn't know how to talk to children so he tries out various ''very'' stupid things, like randomly offering her candy. At least he's smart enough to not outright demand her to kiss him. Actually, she uses the word "kidnapper", but the implications are the same as if she said "pedophile".]]
* NewspaperDating: [[spoiler: It's only after checking the year on a newspaper that he fully realizes that he's traveled back in time.]]
* NiceToTheWaiter: Technically, even though he is the opposite of Arisugawa: Arisugawa is friendly towards [[spoiler: Yamada]] from the start despite [[spoiler: his low student council rank and terrible reputation]]. Kurosaki is a jerk towards him, just like the other vice-president applicants, but we soon find out that the other applicants acted perfectly nice in the company of Miyamura, [[spoiler: Tamaki]] and [[spoiler: Odagiri]], while Kurosaki continued being a jerk. As such, he isn't ''nice'' against the waiter, but he doesn't see him as lower than other people, either.
* NonActionGuy: Despite his size and attitude, he isn't strong and usually not rowdy, and he would probably have been beaten up by some thugs if Yamada, Chikushi and Miyamura hadn't come to his rescue.
* NonUniformUniform: He wears a hoodie instead of the standard shirt/sweater/vest of the Suzaku school uniform.
* NoSell: [[spoiler: As a witch, he is immune to other witch powers except for the seventh witch's powers and his own if someone with the copy power uses it against him.]]
* OriginsEpisode: Chapter 124 sheds light on how his aloof personality came to be.
* PerpetualFrowner: Is usually seen looking somewhat angry. Except when he's around/talking about Miyamura.
* PluckyComicRelief: Except for his initial stint of [[spoiler: using the time travel power]], he is not that important to the plot, but is kept around for comedy because of his crush on Miyamura and interactions with Arisugawa.
* RememberThatYouTrustMe: Even after spending a few months in the student council, he apparently doesn't fully trust the members (except Miyamura), which is [[spoiler: one of the reasons he becomes a witch]]. After being given a peptalk and a display of loyalty from Yamada, he develops his own UndyingLoyalty towards the whole council.
* ShamelessFanserviceGuy: He had absolutely no problem stripping in front of Arisugawa and Yamada (though he did keep his underwear on) to attract a peeper, making you wonder why he made a fuss out of someone watching him change clothes in the first place.
* SheIsTheKing: [[spoiler: Gender inverted. Despite being a guy, he’s still called a "witch" ("majo" in Japanese which literally means "magical woman").]]
* SingleTargetSexuality: He hasn't shown much of an attraction to anyone who isn't Miyamura.
* StraightGay: You wouldn't guess it from his general characterization or appearance, but the facts that he has a crush on Miyamura (which becomes more obvious with time) and finds it disgusting to kiss Arisugawa make it more or less clear that he is gay.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: Is tall, has black hair, and the girls seem to find him attractive.
* TallDarkAndSnarky: He's TallDarkAndHandsome, and he shows a snarky side when he appears and demeans Yamada for being the irrelevant errand boy.
* ThirdWheel: To Yamada and Odagiri on their outing. Odagiri concerns herself with obsessing over Yamada, and Yamada concerns himself with being encouraged by her, leaving Kurosaki mostly to his own devices. They even make and eat dinner without him.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Arisugawa. They are always hanging out together, are (at least at first) the "normal" newcomers in the world of witches, and often pop up to say funny things.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Of the [[spoiler: male witches revealed before Ushio's mind-wipe]], Kurosaki is the only one [[spoiler:who isn't abusing his power for evil or has ambiguous status.]]
* TookALevelInCheerfulness: In the series proper, he's quite gloomy and serious, but in the epilogue he smiles a lot and seems more outgoing. He also doesn't wear a concealing hoodie anymore.
* TroubledButCute: The girls like him, and he seems to be not too bad deep down, but it doesn't change that he is a loner who has always had trust problems and often acts like a jerk. [[spoiler: This trope is the exact reason he became a witch]].
* UndyingLoyalty: Despite how he often acts, he is incredibly loyal to the student council in general (not only Miyamura). [[spoiler: The reason he's afraid of Takuma is that he fears he may turn against the student council if he loses his memories.]]
* [[WellDoneSonGuy "Well Done, Vice President" Guy]]: His greatest wish is to have Miyamura notice him and acknowledge him as a useful student council member. It rarely happens.
* YourSizeMayVary: He looks very tall in his first appearance, to the point that Yamada calls him huge. In his following appearances, he's still not short, but doesn't seem noteworthily tall either; at most he's around Miyamura's height.

A member of the Japanese chess club. She's a first year girl in Noa's class who initially seems simple and ditzy but has [[HiddenDepths a more complex life than she lets on]].
----
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Not only is she [[spoiler: TheFriendNobodyLikes in her club]] - she is also wildly unpopular to the rest of the school, [[spoiler: with her classmates making fun of her, and her (ex) boyfriend humiliating her and cheating on her]].
* AntiVillain: She did bully Noa, but [[spoiler: she is a bullying victim herself, and she generally doesn't have a very easy life]]. She's also considerably nicer to those she does care about than the other chess club members are.
* ArcVillain: She is the only member of the Japanese chess club to get her own mini-arc dedicated to her.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Her initial "let's be friends" greeting to Noa was just a ruse to mess with her. The fact that she kisses Yamada just to hurt her makes her even worse.
* BookDumb: She gets an absolutely terrible score on a math test. And like any other BookDumb character in the series, she is not really that dumb outside of her test scores.
* BookEnds: Her character arc starts and ends up with her overhearing two bullies in the girls' bathroom and not knowing what to do. [[spoiler: The main difference is that the first time, she manages to make them start bullying an innocent girl, and she becomes friendless in the process. The second time, she manages to stop the bullying of an innocent girl and makes a friend in the process.]]
* TheBully: She was one of the people who bullied Noa, so her actions technically led to the events of one of the series' early arcs.
* BullyHunter: [[spoiler: When Yamada controls her, she loses her shit over two girls bullying a third girl, defending the victim, and making friends with her in the process. It is implied, but not outright stated, that she actually chose to do this herself, and it wasn't part of Yamada's mind control.]]
* BuxomIsBetter: She has very big breasts (almost Arisugawa-sized), and the first thing Miyamura suggests when she offers to do one thing for Yamada is to have him rub them.
* TheChick: Of the Japanese chess club. She is the most normal girl in the club, and she tries to mediate between the others.
* ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike: When Yamada [[spoiler:kicks her now ex-boyfriend, who dumped her because his other girlfriend found out about her and he planned to leave her to two of his friends for some fun,]] she promptly starts yelling at him saying he was getting involved in something that doesn't concern him.
* CoolLoser: [[spoiler: When in the Japanese chess club. She is very considerate and helpful towards the other members, yet almost all of them scorn her to some degree. Unless they're simply big jerks and think of her as a pawn, not an actual person, it's hard to tell why they dislike her so much.]]
* DisproportionateRetribution: [[spoiler: Her LaserGuidedKarma. She didn't start the bullying of Noa truly on purpose, but simply wasn't able to foresee the consequences of her actions, so you could say she didn't deserve the terrible life she was given in return.]]
* TheDitz: Zigzagged. She gives off a rather air-headed ValleyGirl vibe from the start, complaining more about the cold draft from an open door instead of worrying about the student council's appearance. She also gets a score of mere 18 on a test and [[spoiler: is not aware of the going-ons in the Japanese chess club]]. However, she also feigns ignorance about bullying Noa to Noa's face and convinces her that she forgot, and even manages to act as the OnlySaneWoman to Yamada and Miyamura.
* DontYouDarePityMe: Being saved and having her troubles pointed out by Yamada really pisses her off, especially because she is now forced to face reality. [[spoiler: However, she ends up becoming grateful to him when she realizes that it's no good to live in denial.]]
* FirstNameBasis: More people than usual for this series refer to her by her first name, including Yamada, Noa, and her bullying classmates.
* FreudianExcuse: [[spoiler: She didn't really mean to bully Noa, but when she first started high school, the other girls in her class started a popularity contest between her and Noa. One day, she [[BathroomStallOfOverheardInsults overheard]] some classmates talk about that she was annoying because she tried too hard to be noticed. Afraid that she would become a bully victim, she tried turning their attention to Noa instead, but it all spiraled out of hand, and Noa became the bully victim instead.]]
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: [[spoiler: None of the other chess club members enjoy her company - a fact she has realized but won't admit openly.]]
* GirlishPigtails: She has them and has a girly TheChick personality.
* HairDecorations: Ribbons (first black, then striped) used to keep her pigtails in place.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler: She has expressed that [[ThisIsUnforgivable she cannot forgive]] the chess club for what they did to her, she has made friends with another unpopular girl by lashing out at her bullies, and she has apologized to Noa, so it's safe to say that she's not an enemy anymore.]]
* HeroAntagonist: [[spoiler: Even after pulling a HeelFaceTurn, she has decided to remain a member of the Japanese chess club, so she's still officially part of the enemy group. Later, the chess club is dissolved, presumably removing the last amount of villainy she had.]]
* HiddenDepths: She initially seems to be an empty-headed girl with no bigger worries than a draft from an open door. As the other tropes show, she is a lot more conflicted than that. Also, since she chose to join a Japanese chess club of all things without knowing about the SchoolClubFront, [[SmartPeoplePlayChess she's clearly more intellectual than she seems]] (compare with Noa who's pretty smart, but knows nothing about Japanese chess).
* HumiliationConga: Her day proceeds like this when Yamada is using [[spoiler: the manipulation power]] on her: [[spoiler: She starts being completely ignored by her fellow club members, then she gets bullied and humiliated by her classmates, then her boyfriend reveals he has been two-timing her, and finally she is grabbed by two thugs and would possibly have been raped, hadn't Yamada saved her.]]
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: She isn't at all as self-confident as she initially seems - [[spoiler:it's hard to be when you're hated and humiliated by the entire school.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While quite spiteful towards Yamada and Noa, she [[spoiler: has a sense of honor (wanting to repay her debt to Yamada), is able to swallow her pride and apologize, and manages to turn from a bully to a BullyHunter]].
* LaserGuidedKarma: [[spoiler: She inadvertently makes Noa a bully victim, and that is not something she gets away from easily; she becomes a bully victim herself, and the whole school starts to hate her.]]
* MsFanservice: She is very buxom, has visible cleavage and (at least according to her classmates) wears her skirt much shorter than the standard.
* [[SirSwearsALot Ms. Swears-a-Lot]]: The swearing in the official translation is very mild, but she is still shown to have a slightly more foul language than many other characters when she gets mad.
* {{Muggle}}: Unlike [[spoiler: Ushio and Yuri]], she has no powers.
* NonUniformUniform: Instead of the standard ribbon of the Suzaku girls' school uniform, she wears a necktie. Though she switches to the ribbon for [[spoiler: the student council election]].
* NotSoDifferent: Lampshaded by Yamada in an attempt to help her: [[spoiler: he says that he was actually just like her, lonely and hated, until an unexpected person appeared and saved him]].
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Yamada believes she is this, knowing [[spoiler: she is the victim of bullying but feigns stupidity to still try and be accepted.]]
* ThePollyanna: [[spoiler: A notable darker interpretation of her actions is that she tries to ignore all the bullying and torment around her in an attempt to still be happy. This gets [[{{Deconstruction}} deconstructed]], as not only is the bullying intensified, she would also have gotten abused by her ex-boyfriend's goons had Yamada not rescued and knocked some sense into her.]]
* PutOnABus: Her role in the story ends with the resolution of her own mini-arc, and as such she doesn't appear in the rest of story except for a brief appearance at the election.
* TheRival: To Noa, initially bordering on ArchEnemy. To the degree that she suddenly wants to kiss Yamada to upset Noa just because she finds out that she likes him (that fact was part of [[BatmanGambit Noa's plan]], however).
* SelectiveObliviousness: [[spoiler: Her definite main flaw is that instead of trying to do something about her sucky life as a bully victim and pariah - or at least ask someone for help - she pretends to both herself and others that everything is perfectly well.]]
* SillyMeGesture: She does it when she tries to apologize for not making Asuka black tea.
* SillyWalk: [[spoiler: When put under the mind control power by Yamada, she adopts the same aggressive and not very ladylike stomping walk as him.]]
* ThisIsUnforgivable: She utters the words "it's inexcusable" when she finds out [[spoiler: what the chess club did to her]].
* TokenGoodTeammate: Of the Japanese chess club. She's generally sweeter and more sociable than the other members (though not necessarily to enemies of the club), doesn't have any villainous goals on her own, and is [[spoiler: the first one to do a HeelFaceTurn]].
* UnknownRival: Subverted. Initially, we were led to believe that she has forgotten about how she bullied Noa, so that the hate was one-sided - but she hadn't, and after a quarrel they now seem to be official rivals.
* UnwittingPawn: [[spoiler: She doesn't initially know about the witches or about the fact that [[SchoolClubFront the Japanese chess club isn't just a regular school club]], so the others take advantage of her by using their witch powers on her.]]
* YouWouldntLikeMeWhenImAngry: Because she tends to be submissive to the bad things happening around her, and because she often dumbs herself down, she can pretty scary when she actually gets angry, making Yamada shake when he witnessed her verbal fight with Noa – and easily scaring bullies away.

One of the three rookie members of the Japanese chess club along with Kaori and Yuri. He [[spoiler: isn't a witch]], but otherwise his purpose and goals are never revealed.
----
* TheBrute: Seemingly his role in the Japanese chess club. He doesn't have an obvious purpose, but he isn't one of the leaders, he isn't [[EvilGenius smart]] like Yuri, and he isn't [[TheChick girly and mediating]] like Kaori.
* CombatParkour: He uses this when he is escaping from others.
* TheHyena: He is seen laughing and/or grinning in most of his appearances.
* InASingleBound: He has some quite neat jumping skills as he uses in his CombatParkour.
* {{Jerkass}}: He generally comes off as very rude and annoying.
* {{Muggle}}: He doesn't have powers unlike [[spoiler: some of his fellow club members]].
* OutOfFocus: He gets barely any focus compared to the other Japanese chess club members - only one scene that shows he's a fast and agile runner - and his personality never gets fleshed out.
* PunnyName: "Hagi" sounds like "hage" which means bald, and he has very short hair. Yamada actually calls him "Baldywara" ("Hagewara") as a nickname.
* SoreLoser: He [[FlippingTheTable flips the board]] and shouts angrily when he loses a game of Japanese chess.
* TsurimeEyes: Fits with how he seems to be arrogant and smug.
* TheUnfought: He's the only member of the Japanese chess club who doesn't get a major confrontation with Yamada that makes him change his ways, making him the same person at the club's dissolution as he was when the club was founded.

Nancy's sidekick [[spoiler: and spotter who helps her keep track on the witches]]. He's in the light music club with her.
----
* AbsenteeActor: He mysteriously disappears from the story after chapter 114 and first appears again in chapter 152. Nancy still makes frequent appearances in the chapters inbetween, but it's not explained why she doesn't have Sid by her side.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: [[spoiler: Nancy's power allows her to detect the number of people under a specific Witch's power. She periodically collects and delivers this data to Sid, who organizes it in a computer and compares it against its historical values, looking for anomalies in the time series that would betray a change in the use a Witch gives to her power and thus a potential problem. Yamada was suitably impressed by this.]]
* BunnyEarsLawyer: He's a [[TheQuincyPunk punker]] with a FaceOfAThug and mad book-keeping skills.
* CustomUniform: He has modified his school uniform to rebel and to fit with his desired punk look.
* DoggedNiceGuy: He has a crush on Nancy and will as such do anything to please her so that he can get noticed.
* EnemyScan: [[spoiler: As a spotter, he can tell which people are witches and witch-killers, and their location, by seeing them as dots on a map in his brain.]]
* FaceOfAThug: Spiky hair, narrow sharp-edged eyes and pointy teeth often exposed in a SlasherSmile... Yeah, he isn't too friendly to look at. [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold He's softer than he seems, though]].
* {{Familiar}}: [[spoiler: Being Nancy's spotter, he functions as a human version of this, since he is the only one who is able to remember her after she uses her amnesia ability.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Like Nancy, he can be kind of a prick at times, but a well-intentioned prick. But unlike [[HiddenHeartOfGold her]], he isn't afraid to show his soft side.
* LoveConfessor: Implied. He admits to Yamada that he loves Nancy in an attempt to sympathize with Yamada's love for Shiraishi, but it doesn't seem like he has told Nancy herself, given that she seems oblivious to any DoggedNiceGuy actions of his.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: The feminine boy to Nancy's masculine girl. He is softer and more submissive than her and shows his feelings more openly.
* MrExposition: He explains [[spoiler: the concept of "spotters"]] to Yamada.
* {{Muggle}}: He doesn't have any powers. [[spoiler: Around his introduction, he was suspected to be a witch-killer because he could still remember Nancy after she used her power, but he is later revealed to be her designated spotter.]]
* NoSell: [[spoiler: As Nancy's spotter, her memory wipe power has no effect on him. His memory can probably be wiped by other seventh witches, though.]]
* OddNameOut: He is (presumably) Japanese like the others, yet Sid is a very non-Japanese-sounding name.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: It was implied that "Sid" wasn't his real name with how he joined in on Nancy saying "a name is simply a decoration". Actually it's subverted: Sid really is his name, at least according to Nancy. It must just have been a ContrivedCoincidence that the girl who nicknames herself Nancy meets a guy called Sid. Due to the way the words are phrased, it is also possible that his name is "Shido", a normal Japanese name with the same pronunciation as "Sid".
* OnlyOneName: His last name isn't known.
* TheQuincyPunk: Like Nancy, he has the style and is something of a rebellious punk.
* SatelliteCharacter: His role in the story is supporting and helping Nancy, and we don't really know anything else about him.
* ShoutOut: To Sid Vicious from the Music/SexPistols, thought to have been an InvokedTrope but just a coincidence in-universe.
* SlasherSmile: He is often seen with one.
* SpikyHair: And appropriately enough, he ''is'' within the punk rock subculture. His hairstyle is quite similar to the one Sid Vicious was known for.
* TenderTears: While played more for comedy than sympathy, he is among the characters who are most prone to tear up, like when he's hearing a touching story, when he's observing something cool, or when he's talking about his feelings.
* TsurimeEyes: He has them mostly to give him a FaceOfAThug. His personality is often more like someone with TaremeEyes, though he can show some arrogance.
* YesMan: He will obey anything Nancy says, partially out of loyalty, partially to fall in better favor with her.

She is not known to be a member of any clubs [[spoiler:in the present time, but she used to be part of a volunteer club when Miyamura was student council president]].
----
* ArcVillain: Of the mini-arc that [[spoiler:brings Yamada back to the Supernatural Studies Club after the second memory wipe]].
* AttentionWhore: Given how she never stood out in school, Kotori and Shiraishi theorize that she is simply leaking the notebook info to get some attention. [[spoiler: They are both wrong and right - she did want some attention, but only from Miyamura.]]
* BoyishShortHair: She has the exact same hairstyle as Itou (just a lighter hair color) and is a bit tomboyish like her.
* DrivenToSuicide: She threatens to kill herself after [[spoiler:killing Miyamura for ignoring her]], though it's not clear if she was serious or just being overdramatic.
* EvilCounterpart: As mentioned above, she is initially established to be a more obnoxious verson of Itou - though it's subverted when they prove to be NotSoSimilar.
* InformedDeformity: Yamada describes her as "the small girl with the slanted eyes", which doesn't make sense as she has [[OnlySixFaces the exact same eyes]] as everybody else.
* {{Jerkass}}: She is introduced as annoying, petty and attention-whoring. At the end, she gets a couple of PetTheDog moments that show that she at least isn't made of up pure jerkassery.
* LoveConfession: [[spoiler: At the end of her arc, she gives one to Miyamura as per Yamada's advice because she was hurt from being ignored by him. He declines, but it still helps her move on.]]
* LoveLetterLunacy: [[spoiler: She constantly sent love letters to Miyamura when he was president. Yamada, the secretary saw them as suspicious and threw them in the paper shredder, [[NiceJobBreakingItHero only adding fuel to the fire]].]]
* LoveMakesYouCrazy: [[spoiler: She is in love with Miyamura, and her petty actions are derived from her unrequited feelings.]]
* MotiveRant: She goes through one, including strangling attempts, when [[spoiler:Miyamura corners her and tells her that he's aware of what she did]].
* {{Muggle}}: She doesn’t have any powers.
* NotGoodWithRejection: [[spoiler: She outright tries to strangle Miyamura and claims she wants to commit suicide afterwards, just because he didn’t reciprocate her feelings.]]
* NotSoSimilar: She is introduced as a carbon copy of Itou, and while many of their superficial quirks are indeed very similar, their lives prove to be different. Ando, unlike Itou, has plenty of friends and started rattling about secrets for entirely different reasons.
* ObsessiveLoveLetter: [[spoiler: Signed her love letters as "The Suzaku Angel, Crimson Seraphim" and wrote rather weird poetry which was seen as creepy by at least Yamada.]]
* PetTheDog: In her last chapter, she apologizes to Kotori and promises to not tell anyone about the witches, showing that she isn't all bad.
* RememberTheNewGuy: [[spoiler: She was a member of a volunteer club who helped the student council, meaning that a lot of the main cast probably have seen her or even talked to her before her actual introduction. Though for the sake of plot convenience, Miyamura is the only one who actually remembers her.]]
* SmittenTeenageGirl: [[spoiler: One of many girls who have a huge crush on Miyamura for no obvious reason. This one’s just a tad more crazy about it than the others.]]
* TheStoolPigeon: Initially seems to be of the Obnoxious Olivia variety. She has absolutely no problem with stealing a notebook and leaking sensitive information as long as it can get people talking. [[spoiler: She is revealed to be the Innocent Ingrid, if still somewhat obnoxious, instead – she just wanted Miyamura to notice her and didn’t think about the consequences of telling people’s secrets out loud.]]
* TearfulSmile: She gives Miyamura one after [[spoiler:he says no to her asking him out]] to show that she still [[spoiler:likes him]] and is glad she managed to do it.
* {{Yandere}}: [[spoiler:Her freaky love letters and her willingless to kill herself and Miyamura when being ignored by him brings her into this territory.]]

----
* AgeIsRelative: He's presumably the same age as Hikaru (15), but he looks much younger than that. In his case, it's not only that he's OlderThanHeLooks, but also a device to convey that he's two years younger than the rest of the main cast and thus may look like a child to them.
* BoisterousWeakling: Despite not having much in the way of physical strength, he'll gladly pick fights with anyone he wants to victimize. It may be explained by his InferioritySuperiorityComplex since he knows deep down that he's a weakling.
* TheBully: He picks on Hikaru, beats him up and humiliates him.
* FatBastard: He seems mildly obese, and being a bully clearly makes him a bastard.
* FireForgedFriends: After being beaten up by Ryu, Ushio and Noa, he became friends with Hikaru by confessing that he is really weak.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: He acts obnoxious and egoistical, but he really considers himself a weakling and tries to compensate for it with a brash attitude.
* {{Jerkass}}: He's an annoying prick who bullies Hikaru and makes him do ridiculous things, even laughing at him while doing so.
* {{Muggle}}: He doesn't have powers.
* TheNapoleon: He's very short (even shorter than Hikaru) and acts all high and mighty while he thinks the world of himself.
* OlderThanTheyLook: To an even stronger degree than the Suzuhara twins - his extremely short stature and baby fat makes him look much more like an elementary schooler than a high school freshman.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Has only been referred to as Tacchan.
* SmugSnake: In his debut, he is very arrogant towards Hikaru.

* NerdsAreVirgins: Well, all characters in this series are virgins, but Nakamura is one big step behind Yamada, Miyamura and the others by virtue of not even having seen a girl's ''room'' before.
* {{Nerdgasm}}: His panting and blushing when he gets to see some American combat planes in real life is a clear nod to this trope.
* OpaqueLenses: His eyes cannot be seen through his glasses.

* GenderMisdirection: She writes in a way you would associate with a guy, using very blunt phrasings and expressions like "dude" - so Yamada thinks she's a guy when reading her mails and gets a surprise when he actually meets her.
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: She's generally meek and feminine, but as mentioned under GenderMisdirection and SophisticatedAsHell, her writing style is very masculine.
* HypocriticalHumor: She blames Yamada and Miyamura for being filthy and wanting to get in her pants even though the thought hadn't even occurred to them - showing that she's a bigger pervert than either of them, at least in that occasion.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: [[spoiler: She was in love with Yamada during their first year, but out of gratefulness for his friendship, she set him up with Shiraishi, his true love, instead.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She's shown to have a bit of an attitude, like [[spoiler:when she replied to Yamada's mails, and when she didn't want to meet up with him in the classroom during their first year]], but she's an overall good person.
* JustFriends: [[spoiler: Despite not actually having any way of knowing, Yamada's GutFeeling makes him insists that he and Hino weren't going out, but were just close friends.]]
* {{Muggle}}: She doesn't have any powers.
* MysteriousPast: [[spoiler: Except that she knew Yamada at the end of their first year, was close to him, and helped him get together with Shiraishi, very little is known about her background or their shared past. Given that she wasn't mentioned when Yamada and Shiraishi recounted the lost memories, she probably didn't play a bigger role than simply being a friend, but how she met Yamada will always remain a mystery.]]
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: One of the few female characters who has hair covering her ears instead of the signature Yoshikawa hairstyle of "exposed ears, hair locks in front of ears".
* OnlyOneName: Her first name isn't known.
* ShrinkingViolet: She is quite shy and nervous.
* SophisticatedAsHell: For someone who is a shy girl and generally talks like a shy girl, she sure has no problem switching to a blunt, masculine writing style on mail.
* TakeThatKiss: [[spoiler:Her past self gives one to present!Yamada to show that she's so infuriated with him that he isn't even worth fighting over a kiss with.]]
* UsedToBeMoreSocial: [[spoiler: It’s justified since she and her friends lost their memories of each other, but it’s noteworthy that she is shy and mostly alone in the present day even though she had several friends and seemed quite outgoing in her first year.]]
* WistfulAmnesia: [[spoiler: Despite not actually remembering Yamada, she spends all day looking at her phone on which she has a lot of photos of him, and in a similar way to [[ImCryingButIDontKnowWhy Shiraishi and Yamazaki]], she starts crying when he wants to kiss her - because she used to be in love with him and felt scorned by him.]]
* WomanScorned: [[spoiler: A milder case than many, but she still goes mental when she thinks that Yamada is playing her feelings by having her set him up with Shiraishi and then apparently cheating on Shiraishi afterwards, slapping him and calling him all sorts of names.]]
* [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair You Gotta Have Green Hair]]: She has olive green hair.

[[folder:Amamiya]]
!! Amamiya
[[quoteright:210:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amamiya.PNG]]
The student council president when Yamada started Suzaku (though she was replaced by Yamazaki at the middle of the school year), Amamiya was [[spoiler:the one behind wiping the memories of every student at school who tried to start a witch ceremony, as well as the one who turned Shiraishi into "the original witch".]]
----

* AntiVillain: While coming off as evil when she first appears, she isn't really, though she is still antagonistic because [[spoiler:she is behind the memory wipe.]]
* BigBad: [[spoiler:Of both Yamada's and Leona's flashbacks, given that she was the one who noticed that Yamada, Himekawa, Nancy, Leona, and Yamazaki all were trying to start a ceremony, and sent Rika to wipe the memories.]]
* CustomUniform: She wears tights instead of knee socks, and she doesn't wear the obligatory ribbon of the girls' uniform. Justified since the student council president is the highest authority of the school, so no-one can object to her not following the dress code.
* FingerLickinEvil: She has long, dark-painted fingernails, and she can be seen licking them at her first appearance while giving off an evil glare.
* GenderMisdirection: Before her first appearance, she's only ever mentioned as "the former president" with no gendered pronouns attached, but since all of the other known student council presidents were or are male, it's a bit surprise that she turns out to be a girl.
* {{Meganekko}}: Subverted. She wears glasses, but doesn't at all have a typical Meganekko personality.
* {{Muggle}}: She doesn't have any powers, though as the student council president, she can [[spoiler:designate a new original witch.]]
* NotSoStoic: [[spoiler:She acts like a typical stoic villain during Yamada's flashback, but in Shiraishi's flashback she is shown to be fully able of having comical reactions.]]
* OnlyOneName: Her first name isn't known.
* PeekABangs: Her bangs cover her left eye most of the time.
* ProperTightsWithASkirt: In what may be an attempt to look refined as a student council president, she wears tights instead of the standard knee socks of the Suzaku girls' uniform.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: She only appears in maybe a dozen panels, but [[spoiler:she pretty much instigates the plot of the series by designating Shiraishi as the original witch]], and she [[spoiler:plays a similar instigator role in the second witch war by having Rika wipe the memories of the witch researchers]].
* StudentCouncilPresident: Another one of these and the first one during Yamada's high school life to boot.
* YoungerThanSheLooks: As a third year student, she is 17 or 18 at her introduction, but looks older than that because of her dress style and her authoritarian demeanor.
