This is inaccurate. Alonzo proves to have the upper hand against the younger cop because he's more experienced and much more physically imposing than Hoyt. Jake wins by jumping ON TOP OF Alonzo's car from a single storey height, and the collision inflicts a nasty whiplash that stuns Alonzo, which is how Jake finally manages to turn the tables on him.
