Afterwards, he spends years planning to escape with Wangwang, but then Wangwang meets and falls for Nen Neya, leaving Yasratcha seething in jealous fury and brooding about Wangwang's heat being stolen. Finally, his plans to free only himself and Wangwang ends in complete and utter tragedy where Traumerei easily outsmarts him and shows up himself. The only reason he is alive is because Wangwang pleaded for his, the Canines, and his children's lives, which Traumerei grants.... But not before giving him a sad but ultimately well-deserved kick by forcing him to kill Wangwang himself and then leaving him alone with a hardly subtle verbal condemnation of his actions by taunting him to enjoy his freedom and fulfill Wangwang's last wish himself. His freedom was granted at the cause of his friend's death and the man who he hated as his master letting him live in more of a CruelMercy and outright flaunting it in his face. It doesn't justify his actions and the even crueler person he became, given that he brought it on himself and clearly hasn't changed in any positive way, instead falling even deeper into depravity, but you can't help but at least be a little sorry about it.

* JurisdictionFriction: RED’s authority relative to Princesses is a bit ambiguous and they may openly clash with Princesses in pursuit of their objectives. As such, jurisdiction seems to come down to who is the stronger between the RED operative and the acting Princess (e.g. Ren v. Yuri when compared to Ren v. Endorsi).

The Princesses of Jahad are adopted females that have, through arduous exams, proven themselves worthy of receiving Jahad's blood, giving them more power. They represent Jahad. They are the only one's allowed to carry the name of Jahad, as he has no children of his own[[note]]though there is the rumored Prince of Jahad[[/note]]. * BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: One reason he worships Jahad and hates Bam is because Bam is willing to risk everyone to save everyone, letting his personal feelings get in the way of his cause, while Jahad sees everyone outside the Great Family leaders completely equally. Jahad's army turns out to see all of their underlings as equally ''[[WeHaveReserves disposable]]'' and orders Kallavan to sacrifice all of his men as a loyalty test.
* BrokenSystemDogmatist: Despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary, Kallavan is completely certain that the only thing preventing the Tower from becoming a complete utopia are the foolish challengers to Jahad’s ultimate authority.

* UnderestimatingBadassery: When fighting Lyborick, he initially believes that even drained, he would still be able to easily defeat him as he isn't known for his combat prowess. Unfortunately for him, Lyborick turns out to be a genuine AuthorityEqualsAsskicking and he pays for his beliefs by being man-handled by the man in close-range combat.

* WorfHadTheFlu: Although Lyborick ''is'' a genuine badass who's a veteran from Genesis, part of the reason why Kallavan is losing to him is because he has been worn down from all the fights. Not to mention that he is also unfamiliar with Lyborick's fighting abilities, leaving him unprepared.

* TheResenter: Cheonhee's Last Station fight shows that she has long held some animosity that someone as irreverent as Yuri has received such honor and respect. The fact that, despite all Cheonhee's effort, the far less disciplined Yuri is both a Jahad Princess and Ha Yurin's favorite, makes her quite bitter.

* WhatTheHellAreYou: Frog's assessment of White's threat level varies rapidly throughout their fight. Specifically, every time White has time to build up his strength, an ominous vibe begins pouring out of him. However, because White keeps wasting his power on showy attacks, he keeps regressing to a barely-Ranker level pushover. It takes until White pulls out a WaveMotionGun SwordBeam that nearly one-shots him before Frog finally believes it.

Division Commander is the fourth-highest rank in the Jahad Army, tasked with leadership of one of the four Divisions of a Squadron. Each Division Commander is a High Ranker that was elected to the position by their Squadron Commander. * TheAgeless: Climbing The Tower gave them eternal youth, with the exception of Hendrock.
* CompleteImmortality: With the exception of Hendrock Bloodmadder, who struck a special deal, all of them have been granted immortality by the 100th Floor Guardian.
* TheDreaded: Considering they are the strongest inhabitants of the Tower, they are widely feared. Thus far, whenever a Family Head is put in the picture, the characters tend to panic and desperately try to find a way to survive while avoiding an encounter with them.
* DrunkWithPower: Most of them didn't start out as the jerks they are now. The data version of Khun Edahn notes that the stronger they grew, the less and less they cared about other people. Gustang dismisses regular people as irrelevant bugs. Traumerei calls even his strongest descendants with creature-like names and believes if he can't control, he can just kill a person and be done it. Jahad took it to the extreme, betraying and tyrannizing everyone to gratify his own ego. The only exception was V, who grew closer to other people instead.
* FeudingFamilies: For all that their founders are companions who climbed the Tower together, they certainly like their feuds. When one of them finds a reason to hold a grudge, you can be certain they will hold the damn thing for as long as they can: for instance, the Khun and Ha families do not get along, and neither do the Eurasia and Po Bidau families. There are hints that the competition among the Princesses of Jahad devolved into an undeclared proxy war among the Great Families and that it drove them apart.
* TheGhost: The majority of the Family Heads are residing in their residences and are not active in the public; SIU has noted it is a very, very rare occurrence for one of them to speak directly to their family members.
* ImmuneToFate: Mortal {{Seers}} are unable to predict the futures of Jahad and the Ten Great Warriors. They are still subject to any destiny set by {{God}}, but King Jahad is starting to become powerful enough to resist even that.
* LargeAndInCharge: Jahad and his Ten Warriors are all said to be very large and bulky; this is best seen when the real Jahad appears in the Hidden Floor, towering over his younger self and Bam.
* MythicalMotifs: According to WordOfGod, the Great Warriors are broadly based on the Greek Pantheon. Several of the Family Heads seem direct counterparts to those gods under Jahad as Zeus:
** Dionysus to Khun Edahn. According to SIU, Edahn's hedonistic, excessive, and womanizing ways were directly inspired by Dionysus.
** Hestia to Yeon Hana. Hestia is a celibate goddess of the hearth, fire, and domesticity. Hana is considered the greatest [[PlayingWithFire Hwayeonsa]] in the Tower, is a virgin that eschews all romantic relationships, and is known for being an extremely kind & gentle person.
** Ares to Arie Hon. Ares, the Greek god of war is also the god of brutality and bloodlust. Arie Hon similarly is driven by the love of fighting and killing as the BloodKnight of the Family Heads.
** Hephaestus to Tu Perie Tperie. Hephaestus is the god of blacksmiths and craftsmen who, among other things, made the chariot that Helios uses to bring the Sun across the sky. Meanwhile, of all the Great Warriors, Tperie is the one that works alongside the blacksmiths of the [[{{Scienceville}} Workshop]] and in fact personally crafted Opera, the three most powerful [[{{Magitek}} Lighthouses]] in the Tower.
** Artemis to Lo Po Bia Traumerei. Artemis is the goddess of wild animals and the hunt. Traumerei is the greatest Anima in the Tower, with the ability to control all [[FiendishFish Shinheuh]] and animals within. Moreover, the hunting dog is a symbol of Artemis, while the [[OurWerebeastsAreDifferent Canine]] people are strongly tied to the Lo Po Bia family.
* MightMakesRight: Although the Tower has never been a happy, pain-free place of easy choices and quick rewards, there are more than a few elephant-sized hints that the really sucky dog-eat-dog, power-based pyramid scam of a society we come to know through Bam and company is entirely down to them and their choices, rather than being intrinsic to the structure. Considering they made the system...
* NighInvulnerable: Per their contracts with the Floor Guardians, none of them can be harmed by inhabitants of the Tower.[[note]]This actually only applies to Jahad. * SuperpowerfulGenetics: Physical similarities vary, but there's a recurring pattern of Great Family members inheriting the skills of the Family Heads. The Ha family has Yurin's physical strength, the Khun family has Edahn's cunning, electricity, and sometimes ice skills, the Yeon family has Hana's flames (they ''are'' born from her kin, after all), the Lo Po Bias and their Animas...
* VillainTakesAnInterest: As revealed in the recent arc, the Family Heads have been aware of Bam as the new Irregular and his capabilities. Currently, most of them are all on the side of letting Bam continue, some even wishing to protect him.

Jahad is the famed "King of the Tower" and the most famous and greatest being within, akin to a god to the Tower's inhabitants. Long ago, he entered the Tower with his Ten Great Warriors and built the Jahad Empire, gaining control of the 134 Floors from the Guardians. He is the first to form a contract with a Guardian, and became King through these contracts. This conquest is known as "The Great Journey". He is lord of the Jahad family, whose [[Characters/TowerOfGodPrincessesOfJahad Princesses]] are powerful females endowed with his blood and are among "the most powerful kind" in the Tower. It must be noted, however, that none of them are related to him by blood, as Jahad has no spouse or heir[[note]]however, more and more people await the birth of his "only son"[[/note]].

Jahad is currently resting, leaving the affairs of ruling to the Three Lords and his daughters, although it is believed that when Jahad is on the move again, the 135th Floor will be conquered.

His death is the longed-for wish of the famed criminal syndicate FUG, however, none chosen by the Tower can harm him.

His younger self was the ruler of the Hidden Floor, entrusted with a bracelet that was the key to defeating him. At the climax of the arc, before the floor is deleted, Jahad attempts to retrieve it, but it is stolen by Gustang's invisible manta ray given to Rachel. Perhaps as a consequence of seeing evidence that Gustang is plotting against him, Jahad issues an order to kill the entire Poe Bidau family.

* TheAce: Jahad's name is associated with power and prestige across the Tower. He pioneered most of the Tower's present culture, and he is currently the most powerful active Ranker.
* AGodAmI: He prefers the word, "King", but the way he brags about and emphasizes it amounts to the same attitude.

He won every single time, which is why Hon follows him. He was firmly #1 in the Rankings, and it was only after an Irregular killed a [[PhysicalGod Floor Guardian]] and his own inactivity that has put him in third. Even still, a mere fragment of his power is still capable of freezing the data versions of his younger self, the ruler of the Hidden Floor, and Khun Edahn, as well as rendering Bam completely immobile.

* DeadpanSnarker: The few appearances he's made in the story has him surprisingly show some darkly dry humor unexpected for someone of his status, notably mocking his data for not knowing he was imperfect and controlled by him the entire time and also Hwang for never knowing he was opening the way for him to enter the Hidden Floor, and taunting Khel Hellam for his arrogance over his ability to see fate, calling him a blind fool.
* DeepSleep: Said to be "hibernating". However, it's unclear whether or not he was really sleeping or just keeping a low profile, as it is rumored he interfered in the Anne Jahad incident and he has been stated to have ordered Anak's execution, along with being quick to interfere with Bam's escapades in the Hidden Floor.

The data version of Yu Hansung mentions that the Jahad on the outside has turned his back on loyalty and justice, and Edahn, one of his companions, thinks the data Jahad is fake because of how out of character he is acting. The God of Guardians also stated that the reason Jahad wanted power and the mantle of king was to make the Tower a place where everyone can be happy. On his "becoming a king", he also states that it is his destiny, whether he likes it or not. All of this implies that originally, Jahad was someone who genuinely could be called a hero, a worthy chosen of the Tower, but something happened to him that changed his personality.

Even his regular self already shows this, mixing up both incredible hand-to-hand combat skills and strong shinsu techniques, and it's good enough to put Bam on the ropes for much of their fight.

* MagicKnight: He wouldn't be the greatest Fisherman in the Tower if he isn't this big time. Back in his Regular days, he uses Lecalicus and, in addition to his aforementioned incredible shinsu skills, he also uses Lecalicus to channel powerful shinsu attacks and can even wield it like a blade normally with ease, matching Bam's shinsu with the needle. If his adult-self carrying blade-like weapons is of any indication, he's kept that skill and it's probably gotten a lot stronger, though we haven't seen his blade skills as the King yet.

One of the warriors who accompanied Jahad during his conquest of the Tower, and founder of the noble Arie Family, the strongest family in the Tower. Not counting Jahad and the top Irregulars, he is the strongest High Ranker in the Tower and seen as the strongest of Jahad's Ten Great Warriors. His sobriquet White Sword refers to the White Oar, his sword that doesn't get hindered by dense Shinsu.

Hon is known to give special tests to Regulars who reach his floor, the 100th; only two known people have succeeded in passing one. Urek Mazino, whose task was to endure his attacks for 10 minutes although Urek went above and beyond by fighting Hon evenly, and his daughter, Arie Hagipherione Jahad who wields the Red October. Since fighting Urek, he has not fought a battle.

Perhaps ironically, he indirectly assisted in the founding of Wolhaiksong. Urek's reward for matching him in battle was the control of one of the Floors he owned, and Urek later used the floor as the group's headquarters.

This guy fathered so many children that there are deadly competitions and factionalism among the siblings, and that's without mentioning the vicious competition among his army of wives. * BrilliantButLazy: She is described as somewhat lazy. Although she is one of the best Wave Controllers of the Tower, she has no idea how she does it, so learning from her is useless. This pretty much drives Gustang insane.

* DespairEventHorizon: Eurasia and Po Bidau Gustang had a daughter named Eurasia Anne, who grew up to become TheAce, one of the strongest Princesses of Jahad ''ever'', who went insane after learning the cruel truth behind Jahad'S schemes and was imprisoned. Anne's condition led to her parents splitting, and apparently hit Blossom hard enough that she gave up on the Princess of Jahad system entirely.

Head of the Poe Bidau Family and the first living being to systematically record Shinsu. Poe Bidau Gustang is the Tower’s most famous Wave Controller and writer. Excluding the eccentrics within The Workshop, he probably knows the most about The Tower. He was also the lover of Eurasia Blossom for a brief period, and is the father of the famous Princess Eurasia Anne Jahad.

Gustang is the founder of the Research Association, and all males of the family are required to become a member. If they do not succeed, they are kicked out of the family. However, because it is a very powerful and exclusive group, his family enjoys a great reputation and substantial power, on par with the Khun family. He is rumored to know a way out of the Tower.

While he was loyal to Jahad for some time, the modern era has seen him quietly working against him, eventually resulting in Jahad declaring war on his family.

* AmicableExes: Oh ho ho, ''not at all''. Apparently, the end of his relationship with Blossom was acrimonious; she had been strongly opposed to Anne becoming a princess in the first place. Ever since the incident with their daughter, Blossom forbade any sort of marriage alliance between the Eurasias and the Po Bidaus.

The head of the Hendrock Family and the first person to hold the special position of Defender in the Tower. As a reward for passing its test, the Guardian of the 100th Floor offered Jahad and the Ten Great Warriors the gift of immortality. However, Hendrock Bloodmadder was the only one excluded from this gift. The reasons behind this exclusion are still a mystery.

* AbusiveParent: He ''uses his kids' lives as fuel to keep himself immortal''. It is said that he sires numerous children '''in order''' to do so. Edahn almost seems nice in comparison.
* BashBrothers: His position is "Defender", a position that specializes in protecting Light and/or Spear Bearers in battle. It is said that when Bloodmadder teamed up with Edahn, they were unstoppable.
* CastFromLifespan: Not his - his children's. In order for Bloodmadder to keep his immortality, those who inherit his blood are cursed with short lifespans. This is why the Hendrock family has so many adopted members, as the true-blooded kids don't live long.
* FourIsDeath: He is ranked 16 (4x4), and his direct descendants are cursed with short lifespans in order for Bloodmadder to keep on living.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Not Bloodmadder himself, as far as it is known, but his direct descendants. While they are one of the Ten Great Families and receive all the respect that comes with the title, the curse of their short lifespans is well-known, and thus they are avoided as marriage partners. They often have to hide their backgrounds in order to get married. In the family, this is so common that it has a name: "deceptive marriage".
* InTheBlood: Same deal as the other families, but only applying to the blood-related descendants: those who carry his blood are said to have high Shinsoo resistance. As a whole, the Hendrock family boasts the highest defensive power of the Ten.
* IronicName: His sobriquet is "Long-Life Turtle". He was the only one of the Ten who was not granted absolute immortality by the 100th Floor Guardian, and thus has to steal the lifespans of his children to keep on living.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Despite being one of the gentlest of the Ten Warriors, she's ''scary'' when pissed; supposedly she is even worse than famously temperamental [[HotBlooded Ha Yurin]] when truly angered.
** There's also the fact that the Yeon family is responsible for artificially manufacturing the rarity of the Zygaena flowers so they can profit. While it's not known if Hana is personally behind such an operation or even aware of it, she's still the head of the family, with no indication of a higher authority than her among them. The leader of the Lo Po Bia Family. Known as the best Anima in the Tower and said to be capable of controlling every kind of creature, even humans. Out of the Ten Family Leaders, he is noted to be the most enthusiastically loyal to Jahad.

* AllPowerfulBystander: He is stated to have the ability to destroy the FUG army attacking the Nest, but when he arrives, he doesn't get involved immediately and simply tells his subjects to bring Bam to him and kill the enemies.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: Granted, the Tower's definition of "human" is flexible, but when seen in a flashback, he appears to have animal ears.
* AnimalMotifs: The Lo Po Bia family has twenty branch families, each named after one of the Family Head's personal beasts. Kaiser, for instance, belongs to the Grey Wolf branch.
* ArcVillain: Of The Nest arc.
* TheBeastmaster: The specialty of him and his family. This guy is ''the'' Anima in the Tower. He commands 7 almighty beasts himself.
* BerserkButton: His is betrayal of any kind. Indeed, he actually breaks his professional and standoffish attitude to be angry when Wangwang shows hints of considering it, and any consideration he may have had to spare Wangwang vanished when Wangwang activated his power. Later on, he makes it clear that he was angered by Yasratcha lying to him about Wangwang's sons being alive as being more that he is furious that Yasratcha committed a betrayal rather than the fact they are still alive.
* BullyingTheDragon: He is subjected to this by Yasratcha, who doesn't hesitate to mock and blame him for everything that happened with Wangwang and spares no effort in making clear how he hated Traumerei and wants to defy him. Needless to say, it irritates him, and when he ''does'' attack Yasratcha, he makes sure to repay the bullying part by not even standing up in handling Yasratcha as if saying he's not even worth it. In fact, he ends their ''fight'' by tricking Yasratcha into an illusion to display Yasratcha isn't nearly as safe from Traumerei as he expected, giving him a slight mockery about how he failed, and then coldly leaving him near death.
* ControlFreak: This appears to be his primary thought process. He is utterly convinced that the native beings of the Tower should be under his control. If they resist him, he will not hesitate to kill them, even if at certain times he may display some emotion towards them, as Wangwang and Yasratcha find out the hard way.
* CruelMercy: He lets Yasratcha live despite his betrayal and costing him Wangwang and even grants him his family name and transfer into Jahad's Army.... But as it turns out, those things were no gifts at all. Rather, the reason he lets Yasratcha live is more because he decides killing him wouldn't do anything and wouldn't let him have his loyal pet dog back and doing that would just release Yasratcha from the heartbreak and pain he felt, so he grants him "freedom", but that "gift" is, in the end, a not so subtle final punishment and kick from him, forcing him into living forever haunted by the fact he lead his friend to death and that he failed to obtain his greatest desire.
* CurbStompBattle: He very swiftly ends his fight with Nen Neya by summoning a beast far stronger than her Ancient can possibly beat and then just fires a single green spear to kill her quite brutally.
* TheDreaded: [[spoiler:The moment it's revealed that the Lo Po Bia Battleship is connected to the Nest via a portal, Evankhell's main concern isn't about the other powerful Lo Po Bia warriors on the ship. It's the idea of Traumerei directly fighting FUG himself that makes her so wary that she is willing to trust someone who can very well be lying just because she knows his arrival will mean there will be no hope for FUG to win the battle and believes telling anyone about it would immediately demoralize them into retreating. Lefav also believes the idea of a confrontation with him would make anyone lose their spirit and indeed Yu Hansung stated he came prepared for everything, only to instantly lose his calm and start silently panicking and getting grim when he realizes the strongest warrior of the Lo Po Bia Family can enter the Nest any time he likes. Likewise, Nen Neya with an Ancient able to take an entire army on is visibly afraid of him]].

** Apparently, he genuinely cared for and loved his direct kids at least, to where he was noted to be enraged and saddened over the loss of one of his youngest children and went as far as to send some of his strongest beasts after the Hidden Grove after they killed one of his, which is even verbally acknowledged by the Hidden Grove to be a sign of serious rage.
** Traumerei at least cares enough for his friend to spare and capture Hansung when he indicates his connection to Bloodmadder.
* TheFirstCutIsTheDeepest: Apparently, part of his jerkass and lack of trust and empathy for lesser beings, especially those who fall in love, is caused by Arlen betraying Zahard and leaving with V because she loved him, as well as Zahard becoming so obsessed with Arlen that he distanced himself from all his companions. He repeatedly states with bitterness that he has already suffered betrayal from people in love and ever since that he regularly dominates his loyal subordinates to ensure what he believed to be a great tragedy never happens again and make sure they remain loyal.
* TheFogOfAges: Apparently, immortality and the countless years he's spend has left his memory rather hazy. Yasratcha seems to believe it's more of a self-serving distortion, but it's clearly untrue. That said, it doesn't exactly mean his memories are at all gone and he just has a harder time remembering. He is able to faintly recall Yama and Doom's names because he was the one who named them and instantly remembers when Yama activates his power. He is also able to at least recall Yasratcha's betrayal of Wangwang and clearly retains his apprehension of him for his NeverMyFault attitude.
* {{Foil}}: To Edahn. Both are absolute [[TheAce Aces]] considered to be among the very best in their areas of expertise, both lead large families with numerous branches. But that's it. While Edahn never gave a damn for his kids, Traumerei once cared enough to be enraged when Hidden Grove killed one of his and sought revenge. Even in the present, his attitude is still more attentive than Edahn's in that while Edahn is indicated to never give his kids anything and hardly involves himself in matters, with how Khun had to steal from him and his specific disinterest with his family, Traumerei at least willingly gives his descendants super-strong equipments and creatures, is fully willing to intervene with matters if necessary, and he does at least relate to a few of his closest subordinates and seem to have some modicum of mercy that Edahn never showed. Edahn doesn't get along with Jahad, while Traumerei is the most loyal out of his peers.
* ItsPersonal: Implied. He ''absolutely hated'' that Hidden Grove killed one of his kids and even sent some of his strongest beasts to intimidate and if possible kill them. As Hidden Grove is affiliated with FUG, not to mention Lo Po Bia's loyalty to Jahad meant he absolutely would have a particular dislike for them, it was probable he jumped at the chance to kick FUG by having Ha Jinsung sealed in the Nest and thus having FUG send in soldiers so the Lo Po Bias can destroy them, and in fact it's even revealed that the Lo Po Bia Family Head himself is more than willing to dirty his hands and destroy the FUG forces himself, being that he is on the battleship connected to the Nest.
* KickTheSonOfABitch: Although it's surprisingly sad, him forcing Yasratcha to kill Wangwang definitely counts. At that point, Yasratcha ''still''' refuses to let go of his obsession and wanted to just turn away and when he was forced, rather than fulfilling his friend's wish, he instead kills all the Canines and spares only Wangwang's children. In fact, Traumerei's glare makes it evident he was giving Yasratcha his right due rather than any sadistic attempt to increase Wangwang's suffering.
* KnightOfCerebus: Even though he is the weakest Family Head, the battle on the Nest's stakes becomes ever grimmer when it's revealed that he can enter the Nest anytime he likes and while he may be on the bottom of the ladder among the Great Warriors, he is still deemed fully capable of single-handedly deciding the outcome of the battle, which gives a rather terrifying thought of how powerful the other stronger Family Heads would be.
* MomentOfSilence: He gives it to Wangwang after having Yasratcha kill him, acknowledging he used to be a fully loyal servant and taking no pleasure in killing him, not even responding to Yasratcha's TranquilFury and looking ahead in somewhat lament.
* NoFullNameGiven: Unlike the other Family Heads, their given name wasn't revealed until recently.
* OlderIsBetter: He's the oldest and first person known to be an Anima as well as the best. When he appears, he quickly displays completely unseen levels of skill with such techniques before. His creatures are all insanely strong and able to easily beat down the likes of Ancients and even more nightmarishly rule-breaking is that he can seemingly spawn them freely without a Fishbowl like it's natural for him.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: His first appearance and the flashback at first depicts him as a superior cold being in a way rather similar to Gustang, though at least he calls people creatures rather than bugs, and the flashback displays him being seemingly utterly callous towards Wangwang and approving of Yasratcha's ways, but as it gets unfolded further, he starts expressing more emotions than what you would expect from him, displaying beneath his god-like attitude there still lies some, albeit twisted, humanity, beginning from being somewhat contemplative and even in a way somber about Wangwang's attraction to Nen Neya, which actually made him threw a bone at his loyal dog for once, to being quickly riled up whenever Wangwang expresses doubt, and even coming himself to see whether or not Wangwang really betrayed him, all which surprise Yasratcha and even his representative, indicating he isn't as unaffected and dismissive of his dog's loyalty as he shows at first.
* PapaWolf: A rarity among his peers, if Edahn is part of a pattern, but he is this. One of the flashbacks of Genesis has one of his sons declaring he was heartbroken over the death of one of his youngest children at the hands of Hidden Grove. Enough to send a giant snake to kill them. This is verbally compared to Edahn's response: absolute indifference.
* ParentalSubstitute: Raised Doom, Yama and Paul's father after he was created by the Workshop. Nice of him, right? Well, no. Instead of treating the guy like a member, the Lo Po Bia family used him to do their dirty work and wanted nothing more than a blindly loyal, well, dog. [[spoiler: How Traumerei himself views Wangwang is a little unclear. He is more than willing to let Wangwang be put through numerous harsh trials, but Wangwang seems to genuinely believe Traumerei cared for him. That said, he was willing to [[ThrowtheDogaBone give him some measure of freedom and time to enjoy developing a real romance with Nen Neya]] and appears to at least appreciate Wangwang's loyalty and didn't really wish to get rid of him. While Kallavan gives in, his soldiers end up sacrificing their lives for nothing, much to the amusement of his superiors.

* AffablyEvil: While faux when dealing with enemies, around with his allies on the Empire, Yasratcha is shown to be actually a pretty nice guy. He speaks to Kallavan after his fall from grace with politeness and formal respect even as the latter adheres to him as a superior and refers to Maschenny with the proper respect any other member of the Empire would show. He also treats his subordinates well, even saving them when he could.
* AmbiguousSituation: Apparently, according to Doom, he is the one who framed Baylord Wang Wang of treason and lead the Canines to kill him because he wanted Wang Wang's Fang. However, when Yama experiences a vision upon acquiring another of Wang Wang's fang, Yasratcha is shown to have instead actually been reluctant to do so and even offered Wang Wang a chance to work again with the Lo Po Bia Family. This combined with Yasratcha's previous hesitation to outright murder Doom and Yama make it ambiguous whether or not Yasratcha was really completely at fault or if he was just following orders. When confronted again with Yama, Yasratcha states that while he is the one who killed Wangwang, the real culprit behind his demise is Traumerei.
** It's later revealed that he is in fact the real culprit behind Nen Neya's death, being jealous of her relationship with Wangwang, but he did that because he wanted Wangwang to escape with him.
* TheCorruptor: Two of the Division Commanders of his Squadron who was at first against him became loyal to him because he managed to corrupt them. Haratcha was at first only following him to ensure the safety of the Rashangs, which Yasratcha knew of and patiently waited until the Rashangs turned against Haratcha to then reveal he had never been fooled and make it clear remaining conflicted will only cause him a lifetime of suffering. It worked wonders and Haratcha ultimately killed the Rashangs after realizing that they have become too power-hungry because of him. Kendrick Diel adamantly opposed his callousness in dealing with beasts until Yasratcha then shoved the cold truth that his ways may be more benevolent than Yasratcha's, but Yasratcha's ruthless ways are actually way more effective in securing the safety of civilians and took advantage of his crippled pride and disillusionment to tempt him into wanting to rule over all creatures.
* CurbStompBattle: His first fight with Yama's weakened state has him easily badly injure him with physical attacks.
* DidntSeeThatComing: He ''never'' thought Traumerei would personally intervene with the Wangwang problem, assuming Traumerei would just send Branch Heads after him and Wangwang due to believing he didn't really care about Wangwang. Turns out Traumerei cares more than Yasratcha ever knew. The only reason he is still alive after he gets caught betraying him is because Wangwang asked Yasratcha to kill him and Traumerei either decided to turn a blind eye to his betrayal or chose to let him leave the family and enter Zahard's Army but disassociating himself from him.

** Yasratcha may be sadistic with his enemies, but in the face of Lyborick's callousness in sacrificing the 4th Army Corp soldiers of Kallavan just to rebuild it entirely with stronger soldiers, even he is visibly uncomfortable and disgusted, calling him a psycho. He is also reluctant to fight Kallavan when he came just to get revenge on Lyborick and even offers to give him a chance to kill Lyborick.
** When a leader of the Rashangs came to him and revealed Haratcha's betrayal just so he can become a Feline, Yasratcha makes his disgust of their ungratefulness for Haratcha's loyalty clear and then cuts off his tongue at the spot. He doesn't kill Haratcha and gives him the chance to choose.
** Lazy as he may be, Yasratcha disapproves of Kendrick Diel's superiority beliefs that he can stay on a chair and make others fight for him just because he has power.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Yasratcha constantly portrays himself with a giddy smile and polite demeanor, even when he is ruthlessly beating up his enemies or playing mind games on them. He also shows shades of this around Lyborick, which is actually quite justified. His arrogant attitude was already annoying him, even if he did try to keep a polite attitude around him, and by the time he learns of Lyborick's ruthless and power-grabbing scheme, he drops most affability around him and starts by being clearly angered and then coldly brushes his arrogant confidence to take responsibility before showing he is more than willing to sick Kallavan on him.
* JerkassHasAPoint:
** When called in to deal with a powerful beast who Kendrick Diel failed to handle, Yasratcha proceeded to easily defeat the beast and then cruelly tell the civilians to kill the giant rabbits that they were using as pets. When confronted by the devastated Kendrick Diel over this, Yasratcha simply found it amusing and revealed his actions may be callous but it was really for the sake of the village: The beasts that attacked the city was only targeting the rabbits as they were the prey and that normally they would never have attacked the civilians. Just dealing with the beasts won't be enough, as their hunger meant any suppression would only be temporary and no matter how Kendrick tries, had he been allowed to continue, the whole village would have been either destroyed by the beasts or damaged in the crossfire between the Army and the beasts. It breaks Kendrick so badly he goes from a creature-loving and well-meaning anima into a tyrannical controlling one.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Surprisingly, Yasratcha can be this. He is notably not discriminating or distasteful of Kallavan's failure and subsequent demotion, even telling him to not be formal and encouraging him to regain his position. When Kallavan briefly joins with FUG, Yasratcha was the only one who sympathized with him and offers him the chance to get revenge on Lyborick without having to fight. He is also willing to forgive Haratcha's betrayal of transferring the money he acquired fighting under Yasratcha to the Rashangs and give him a chance to fully dedicate himself to the Felines.
* UnderestimatingBadassery:
** Yasratcha was at first dismissive of Bam and the FUG forces attacking the Nest, still in a good mood after his crushing defeat of Yama, only for Bam to make him eat his words when he single-handedly stops Lyborick's plan that Yasratcha found crazy by using teleportation, a skill that Yasratcha himself claims is unique even among High Rankers. Afterward, he stops taking him lightly and acknowledges him as an Irregular.
** Yasratcha dismisses Mc Cage's concerns of Evankhell. That said, as it turns out Evankhell is heading out to find a place that connects the Nest to a whole battleship of Lo Po Bia's strongest Rankers, including the Family Head himself and Yasratcha knows it, this time he actually has a pretty solid reason to brush her off, as Evankhell herself is aware how grim the situation is.
** Most arrogantly and suicidally, Yasratcha fatally underestimated Traumerei, believing that as he had been acting like a lazy, callous OrcusonHisThrone, he wouldn't bother to directly intervene in Wangwang's extermination. Traumerei proves him wrong in the worst way possible. Even years later, while he still acknowledges that Traumerei is fully capable of killing him, he believes that he can at least resist his mind control. This ends up being fatal for him, as Traumerei may or may not be capable of controlling him, but it turns out that he can still influence his mind and create illusions, and he pays for it by being summarily cut in half and reverted back to normal from his Full Transformation.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness:
** The usually sadistic and sarcastic Yasratcha loses his usual demeanor when Lyborick callously declares his intention to get rid of Kallavan's soldiers, being rather solemn and even frustrated by such a dirty-handed and cruel order.
** When Yama demonstrates that he has truly integrated the powers of the fang that Doom inherited from their father, Yasratcha's usual mocking demeanor is lost, being clearly grim and furious as he realizes his third fight with Yama will be much harder than ever.
* NeverMyFault: He states that Traumerei is completely responsible for Wangwang's death and that he was just forced. That was despite the fact Yasratcha ''was'' the real reason Wangwang and Nen Neya were killed due to his jealousy and desire to have Wangwang all to himself. Even Kirin states that Yasratcha was the reason why Traumerei even had to kill the Canines. In fact, even Traumerei himself seems displeased to an extent by this, glancing away and frowning when Yasratcha sarcastically kept saying Traumerei was the real killer.
* TranquilFury: When Yama and Doom finally reached him, Yasratcha keeps a composed facade but his tone and dark face made it clear he was ''pissed''.
* TraumaCongaLine: The entire arc displaying his past with Wangwang is very clearly a huge form of this. He starts off as a cat-human hybrid created by experiment and while the experiences he had climbing the Tower and being experimented on by the Workshop didn't break him, his friendship and perhaps even gay love for Wangwang swiftly ends in tragedy, and in a rather painful, prolonged way, and most of it is his fault. First, he loses Wangwang after failing to take him away from his master, then he gets introduced quite rudely to Lo Po Bia Traumerei who takes him a pet. Afterwards, he spends years planning to escape with Wangwang, but then Wangwang meets and falls for Nen Neya, leaving Yasratcha seething in jealous fury and brooding about Wangwang's heat being stolen. Finally, his plans to free only himself and Wangwang ends in complete and utter tragedy where Traumerei easily outsmarts him and shows up himself. The only reason he is alive is because Wangwang pleaded for his, the Canines, and his children's lives, which Traumerei grants.... But not before giving him a sad but ultimately well-deserved kick by forcing him to kill Wangwang himself and then leaving him alone with a hardly subtle verbal condemnation of his actions by taunting him to enjoy his freedom and fulfill Wangwang's last wish himself. His freedom was granted at the cause of his friend's death and the man who he hated as his master letting him live in more of a CruelMercy and outright flaunting it in his face. It doesn't justify his actions and the even crueler person he became, given that he brought it on himself and clearly hasn't changed in any positive way, instead falling even deeper into depravity, but you can't help but at least be a little sorry about it.
* TheWorfEffect:
** To show that Doom's fear of Yasratcha and warning to Yama and Paul not to tangle with him as being correct, Yasratcha utterly dominates a weakened Yama the first time they fight, and Doom's belief that Yama would not have the strength to defeat Yasratcha alone even at full strength was later proven correct when Yasratcha defeated Yama once more, though with a fair more amount of effort. While this was aided by the fear Yasratcha placed on Yama before, even Yama acknowledged Yasratcha was much stronger than he had expected, meaning he did feel that Yasratcha would have been stronger than him even without that setback.
** Yasratcha gets on the receiving end when he challenges ''Traumerei'' of all people. He activates his Full Transformation that utterly wrecked Yama, but despite the fact he is immune to mind-control, all it does against Traumerei is make him bluntly declare Yasratcha is unworthy and he simply sicks two of his beasts. Just when he finally bypasses the two, which is more because he avoids and counters them rather than being able to overpower them, Traumerei responds by nonchalantly spawning an octopus that easily pins him down and the only reason he doesn't lose is because Yama rescues him. Then a ''dragon'' appears just when he again gets close to Traumerei and simply appearing and letting out an attack in a sense kills him. He only survives because he has a HealingFactor and said trait gets weakened because the dragon is just that powerful. He and Yama working together can't make a dent against the two of them, and Traumerei is not even controlling them directly, just spawning them and having them fight automatically. The fact that Traumerei is literally JustToyingWithThem the entire time makes it clear even a Squadron Commander and a Slayer can't even remotely compare to a Family Head and displays just how overwhelmingly strong the Great Warriors are.
* {{Yandere}}: Whether he was in love with Wangwang or is just possessive, Yasratcha surely spent most of his time in the flashback seeking simply to have Wangwang all for himself, even killing Wangwang's wife just to make him betray Traumerei and not caring about his children. It takes having to kill Wangwang himself for Yasratcha to have a change of heart.

* ParentalSubstitute: Raised Doom, Yama and Paul's father after he was created by the Workshop. Nice of him, right? Well, no. Instead of treating the guy like a member, the Lo Po Bia family used him to do their dirty work and wanted nothing more than a blindly loyal, well, dog. [[spoiler: How Traumerei himself views Wangwang is a little unclear. He is more than willing to let Wangwang be put through numerous harsh trials, but Wangwang seems to genunely believe Traumerei cared for him. That said, he was willing to [[ThrowtheDogaBone give him some measure of freedom and time to enjoy developing a real romance with Nen Neya]] and appears to at least appreciate Wangwang's loyalty and didn't really wish to get rid of him. In fact, he even appears personally to confirm whether or not Wangwang really betrayed him and admits he couldn't kill him himself after all the years Wangwang served him. While he ultimately displays his LackofEmpathy towards Wangwang's anger that he killed Nen Neya, he at least promised to grant Wangwang's children mercy although it came at a very painful way]].

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: His first appearance and the flashback at first depicts him as a superior cold being in a way rather similar to Gustang, though at least he calls people creatures rather than bugs, and the flashback displays him being seemingly utterly callous towards Wangwang and approving of Yasratcha's ways, but as it gets unfolded further, he starts expressing more emotions than what you would expect from him, displaying beneath his god-like attitude there still lies some, albeit twisted, humanity, beginning from being somewhat contemplative and even in a way somber about Wangwang's attraction to Nen Neya, which actually made him threw a bone at his loyal dog for once, to being quickly riled up whenever Wangwang expresses doubt, and even coming himself to see whether or not Wangwang really betrayed him, all which surprise Yasratcha and even his representative, indicating he isn't as unaffected and dismissive of his dog's loyalty as he shows at first.
* OlderIsBetter: He's the oldest and first person known to be an Anima as well as the best. When he appears, he quickly displays completely unseen levels of skill with such techniques before. His creatures are all insanely strong and able to easily beat down the likes of Ancients and even more nightmarishly rule-breaking is that he can seemingly spawn them freely without a Fishbowl like it's natural for him.

* TheWorfEffect: Demonstrating exactly just how powerful a Family Head is, it takes an entire army to beat Akrinak to the point of exhaustion, but Traumerei alone easily [[NoSell shrugs off]] it's time-stopping abilities and then summons a much bigger creature to very quickly pummel the Ancient. Afterwards, all that it takes is a single thin green spear to kill Nen Neya quite brutally.
* TranquilFury: Whenever his "pets" start displaying rebellious tendencies, he shifts into this. He coldly asks Wangwang about his loyalty whenever he starts slipping due to Nen Neya. Then, when he is asked about the progress of dealing with the sealed creature in the Nest, he actually grips his sleeves as he admits it still won't listen to him. When Nen Neya arrives to take her sons away, he calmly but condescendingly asks why she was in his territory, while making his anger clear with a DeathGlare that actually makes his green eyes shine. Likewise, when he finds out Yasratcha lied to him, all that he does is stand up and command his creatures to attack him, but he makes it clear he is pissed with Yasratcha's deception by his voice being cold and his eyes shining when he realizes the truth.
* VillainTakesAnInterest: Apparently, Traumerei's interested in Bam, apparently due to his Irregular status, enough that he actually arrives in person to confront him and makes it evident he isn't here to annahilate FUG but rather to get his hands on Bam. Whether or not he is aware that Bam is the son of his friends and wants to see him in person or he is just intrigued by Bam's potential is still uncertain.

* MasterOfAll: Played With. According to SIU, in wielding his giant halberd, “it was not that he performed the role of every Position, but rather he fought without any regards to what a Position was.”

* MouthOfSauron: As HighPriest of an Altar, his job is to inform the Jahad military and administration of Jahad's will

* TheScapegoat: He's the scapegoat for the Altar conspiracy. Lucky for him, after his failure to capture Bam at the Last Station, he decides to join the Army until he can make up for it instead of returning to work
* SensoryOverload: White Light Noise allows Charlie to negate his enemy's senses. Although it doesn't work on Ranker-level opponents, its perfect for a GlassCannon Regular like Bam.

** Also a downplayed version on Bam's end. While Charlie isn't an especially powerful Ranker, he's still a Ranker. Admittedly, by the time of the Last Station, Bam has offensive abilities that exceed his opponent's. However, Bam is nearly defeated by attempting to rely on this, as Charlie is well rounded enough to be a threat, but not arrogant enough to just stand still and attempt to NoSell Bam's strongest attack.

* YouAreNumber6: Its implied that each member of RED is identified by a number

Squadron Commander (or Army Corps Commander) is the second highest rank of the Jahad Army, with a Commander having total control over one of the Five Corps of the Jahad Army. To reach this rank a soldier would have to be at least within the top-300 High Rankers, while every Corps Commander can exceed the combined strength of all their subordinates. Over millennia of existence, the army has never failed in any operation carried out directly by a Squadron Commander [[spoiler:until Kallavan, Squadron Commander of the 4th Army Corps, failed to capture FUG Slayer candidate Jue Viole Grace at the Hell Train Last Station.]]

* WorfHadTheFlu: Although Lyborick ''is'' a genuine badass who's a veteran from Genesis, part of the reason why Kallavan is losing to him is because he has been worned down from all the fights. Not to mention that he is also unfamiliar with Lyborick's fighting abilities, leaving him unprepared.

* AmbiguousSituation: Apparently, according to Doom, he is the one who framed Baylord Wang Wang of treason and lead the Canines to kill him because he wanted Wang Wang's Fang. However, when Yama experiences a vision upon acquiring another of Wang Wang's fang, Yasratcha is shown to have instead actually been reluctant to do so and even offered Wang Wang a chance to work again with the Lo Po Bia Family. This combined with Yasratcha's previous hesitation to outright murder Doom and Yama makes ambiguous whether or not Yasratcha was really completely at fault or if he was just following orders. When confronted again with Yama, Yasratcha states that while he is the one who killed Wangwang, the real culprit behind his demise is Traumerei.

** Yasratcha may be sadistic with his enemies, but in the face of Lyborick's callousness in sacrificing the 4th Army Corp soldiers of Kallavan just to rebuilt it entirely with stronger soldiers, even he is visibly uncomfortable and disgusted, calling him a psycho. He is also reluctant to fight Kallavan when he came just to get revenge on Lyborick and even offers to give him a chance to kill Lyborick.

* TraumaCongaLine: The entire arc displaying his past with Wangwang is very clearly a huge form of this. He starts off as a cat-human hybrid created by experiment and while the experiences he had climbing the Tower and being experimented on by the Workshop didn't break him, his friendship and perhaps even gay love for Wangwang swiftly ends in tragedy, and in a rather painful, prolonged way, and most of it is his fault. First, he loses Wangwang after failing to take him away from his master, then he gets introduced quite rudely to Lo Po Bia Traumerei who takes him a pet. Afterwards, he spends years planning to escape with Wangwang, but then Wangwang meets and falls for Nen Neya, leaving Yasratcha seething in jealous fury and brooding about Wangwang's heat being stolen. Finally, his plans to free only himself and Wangwang ends in complete and utter tragedy where Traumerei easily outsmarts him and shows up himself. The only reason he is alive is because Wangwang pleaded for his, the Canines, and his children's life, which Traumerei grants.... But not before giving him a sad but ultimately well-deserved kick by forcing him to kill Wangwang himself and then leaving him alone with a hardly subtle verbal condemnation of his actions by taunting him to enjoy his freedom and fulfill Wangwang's last wish himself. His freedom was granted at the cause of his friend's death and the man who he hated as his master letting him live in more of a CruelMercy and outright flaunting it in his face. It doesn't justify his actions and the even more crueler person he became, given that he brought it on himself and clearly hasn't changed in any positive way, instead falling even deeper into depravity, but you can't help but at least be a little sorry about it.

* SensoryOverload: White Light Noise allows Charlie to negate his enemy's sense. Although it doesn't work on Ranker-level opponents, its perfect for a GlassCannon Regular like Bam.
