* AmbiguouslyRelated: To the other Sanjou swords, at least in the browser game. Despite being the only other Sanjou besides Mikazuki Munechika and Kogitsunemaru with a confirmed existence, he doesn't have any interactions with them and never alludes to them in his dialogue. Hanamaru, the musicals, and some of the anthology comics compensate for this by treating the Sanjou like a close-knit group.

Just a correcting myself. Ishikirimaru’ a newer official profile on the official website states that he was forged by Sanjou Munechika, while the real sword was forged by Arinari.

A holy sword believed to have the power to "cut" away diseases. He dresses and acts like a Shinto priest and acts somewhat sheltered due to not having left his shrine for a long time.

A holy sword believed
An oodachi said
to have been made by Sanjou Munechika, a swordsmith from the power Heian period. He is somewhat unfamiliar with the outside world, having been enshrined for a long time. Rather than his cutting ability, his powers are expected to "cut" away treat tumors and heal diseases. He dresses and acts like a Shinto priest and acts somewhat sheltered due to not having left his shrine for a long time.watches over everyone with kind eyes.

* AmbiguousSituation: Like Mikazuki Munechika, Ishikirimaru is a Sanjou sword with a confirmed existence. However, who forged him in the browser game remains unclear, as his profile makes no mention of his origins other than that he is a Sanjou school sword, and even supplemental official materials only vaguely state that he was forged by "Munechika".
** To begin with, Ishikirimaru is a character based on various anecdotes about swords with the same name, with the majority of his character being inspired by the sword currently held at Ishikiri-Tsurugiya Shrine. However, that sword is stated to be a tachi forged by Arinari Sanjou, the son of Sanjou Munechika, which contradicts the statements that Ishikirimaru was forged by Munechika. It also raises the question of why Ishikirimaru was implemented into the game as an oodachi rather than a tachi, given that every account of swords named Ishikirimaru are described as being a tachi, including the one at the shrine.
*** If he was forged by Arinari rather than Munechika, it could explain why Ishikirimaru as a character is rarely shown as being particularly close to his fellow genuine article Sanjou, instead being paired off with Nikkari Aoe from the Aoe school, despite their lack of historical ties.

Added DiffLines:

* CompositeCharacter: Unlike his fellow Sanjou, who derive their characters from a single historical (or legendary) sword of the same name, his character is inspired by multiple swords bearing the name Ishikirimaru, with the majority of the inspiration coming from the sword enshrined at Osaka's Ishikiri-Tsurugiya Shrine. Some artistic license is taken with his portrayal in ''Touken Ranbu'', though, as not only were all of the swords his character draws inspiration from tachi, not oodachi, but the primary sword he draws inspiration from was identified as having been the work of Arinari Sanjou, the son of Sanjou Munechika, not Sanjou Munechika himself, as his profile on the official website misstates.

Added DiffLines:

* NiceGuy: By far the calmest, most polite, and supportive Touken Danshi of his fellow Sanjou. His profile even says that he watches over everyone with kind eyes.

* AmbiguousSituation: Like Mikazuki Munechika, Ishikirimaru is a Sanjou sword with a confirmed existence. However, the question of who forged him remains open, as he is attributed as a sword from the Sanjou school in the browser game, but his profile doesn't specify who forged him. In the first place, he is a sword made up of many anecdotes about swords called Ishikirimaru, with the most influence coming from the tachi kept at Ishikiri-Tsurugiya Shrine, which is said to have been forged by Sanjou Munechika's son Arinari Sanjou. However, other official materials tend to be ambiguous on the matter, simply stating that he was forged by Munechika, which could refer to Sanjou Munechika himself or Arinari under his fathers name. If it's the latter, it could explain why he's not as close to the other genuine article Sanjou, who are depicted as being friendly due to being forged by Sanjou Munechika, whereas he tends to be paired off with Nikkari Aoe despite their lack of historical ties.
