* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Enies Lobby, which is even worse than it is in canon. In canon, all the Straw Hats did was completely wreck the judicial island trying to get Robin back (with some not-so-inconsiderate help from the Marines). In ''This Bites!'', they did that, '''and aired it live''', for the ''entire world'' to hear. That act sparked a massive crime spree all across the Grand Line, spearheaded by the other Supernovas, who were trying to one-up the Straw Hats and/or draw away some of the impending heat. It even caused some of the Four Emperors to act up, which distracted every single Marine on that side of the Red Line, plus half of the Warlords. But they didn't end there -- no, they fanned the flames by airing a ''shit-ton'' of the World Government's dirty laundry, permanently ruining their reputation and precipitating civil unrest on a global scale, with numerous countries world-wide going revolutionary, including ''Water 7''. Their escape, an unprecedented ''victory'' by a single rookie pirate crew, over one of the three major superpowers no less, is the final nail in the coffin, and by the time they're done, they've made the World Government and the Marines assuredly regret the day they screwed with the Straw Hat Pirates.

That act sparked a massive crime spree all across the Grand Line, spearheaded by the other Supernovas, who were trying to one-up the Straw Hats and/or draw away some of the impending heat. But they didn't end there -- no, they fanned the flames by airing a ''shit-ton'' of the World Government's dirty laundry, permanently ruining their reputation and precipitating civil unrest on a global scale. Their escape, an unprecedented ''victory'' by a single rookie pirate crew, over one of the three major superpowers no less, is the final nail in the coffin, and by the time they're done, they've made the World Government and the Marines assuredly regret the day they screwed with the Straw Hat Pirates.

* ItsPersonal: Shiki seems intent on pissing off the entire crew as much as he can. First he kidnaps Nami and dumps them on his personal, ''hellacious'' floating archipelago, separating them all for a week and forcing them to jump from island to island trying to survive the very dangerous mutated animals that live there. Then, they find out that ''he'' was the one attacking their home sea of East Blue, which they had just been planning to take a detour to from their Grand Line journey. However, the absolute last straw for all of them [[spoiler:is when he shows up to take Nami back after she managed to escape from him, and starts ''scolding them '''for taking away his property'''''. * AdaptationExpansion: While this version contains all the canon members, it also consists of characters that didn't originally join (or in Merry's case, didn't stay with the crew) as well as fic-exclusive characters.
* BadassCrew: As in canon, the Straw Hats are an extremely powerful crew, with this version having many more members than originally.
* BerserkButton: There are a lot of things that this piss this crew off, both individually and collectively. [[spoiler:However, hearing Shiki address Nami as "property" drives every single member of the crew present into a ''murderous rage'']].
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Unlike in canon, everyone is now perfectly aware of how insane the Straw Hats are thanks [[spoiler: to the SBS]]. They are also aware that their insanity doesn't make them any less dangerous.
* TheDreaded: Everyone in the crew is this to some extent for the average mook.
* FamedInStory: The [[spoiler: SBS]] has made the Straw Hats the most famous crew in history. ''Everyone'' knows who they are.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: The Straw Hats went from a rookie crew from the weakest sea to the gold standard of their generation, who are directly responsible for what was outright declared '''the darkest day in the entire history of the World Government'''.
* MookHorrorShow: Four of the ''weaker'' Straw Hats (Nami, Chopper, Cross, and Soundbite) instill such terror into the Marines they fight at Enies Lobby that the one calling for reinforcements is reduced to simply repeating "Oh god" over and over.
* PowerTrio: The crew includes ''three'' of these, two of which overlap with the third; Cross even remarks on it:
** Monster Trio - Luffy, Zoro and Sanji, the top three fighters of the crew.
** Demon Trio - Chopper, Nami, Cross and Soundbite (who are treated as one), the ones who look and act normal until they take off the mask of normalcy and show what lies beneath.
** Kiddy Trio (AKA Dumbass Trio or Idiot Trio) - Luffy, Usopp, Chopper, the three least mature of the crew.
* TookALevelInBadass: Nearly every member of the canon crew has become even more dangerous than they were in the original story.
** This happens gradually offscreen during Strong World, with the crew slowly getting absorbed into Shiki’s evolution game by eating the chemical-laced animals.
* TrueCompanions: They might be silly and VitriolicBestBuds three quarters of the time, but when one of them is threatened, be assured they ''will'' go to war with the world itself for their crewmate, and the world ''is going to '''lose'''.''
* WeaponOfChoice: Of the crew's 25 members (as of the "Little East Blue" arc), nearly all of them carry (or have started to carry), have some access to or ''are'' weapons, on top of their inherent abilities. The only exceptions are Soundbite and Perona, both of whom rely on their Devil Fruit's powers (justified for Soundbite since, being a snail, he ''can't'' carry a weapon), and Su (who, being a fox, has no real powers [[spoiler:yet]] or ability to use weapons).

* BeyondTheImpossible: Luffy shows that his stupidity transcends space and time when he mistakes Coby for '''''[[Manga/FairyTail Natsu Dragneel]]'''''.
* CompellingVoice: [[spoiler:He unlocks Conqueror's Haki by accident when he's finally tired of being chased by mutant creatures once reunited with some of his crew aboard the Sunny in Merveille and shouts at them to go away. It affects not only the monsters but the crew members present as well.]]
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: He's a D., it comes naturally for him. ''Especially'' when the so-called superior being is threatening his crewmates. Just ask [[spoiler: [[JerkassGod B.R.O.B.]] how well it went when they gloated about ripping Cross from his home and marooning him on a strange world]]. Or Eneru when he kidnapped Nami and Cross.
* DumbassHasAPoint:
** Upon hearing that [[spoiler: Merry can never return to her ship form without tearing herself apart, Luffy comments that it doesn't matter, saying that the important thing is that Merry is still alive and can continue traveling with the Straw Hats]]. Everyone is dumbstruck by how much sense he made.
** During ''Strong World'', [[spoiler:he's the first one to figure out that the mutated animals [[BatmanGambit have been playing them]]]].
* IdiotHero: And how, though he's started taking Cross's encouragement to be less so. It's had some success, but not enough to count as DumbassNoMore.
** For example: At the Accino Family wedding, Luffy, instead of his usual ''modus operandi'' of stealing food, decides to use one of Franky's contraptions to procure it all instead. While smart on the surface, one has to remember that A) he's not an engineer, and B) he was telling this to Vivi, who, being in proxy-{{Bridezilla}} mode at the time, promptly ties him up with the rope he was about to use to trigger the machine. Thus, after he finally manages to escape his bonds, he triggers the machine to see if it would work -- and watches as ''[[EpicFail it cuts every support beam in the church in half]]'', causing the building to collapse in on itself.
* MagneticHero: And not even the SelfInsert himself is immune.
* NiceHat: His treasure and trademark is the straw hat he got from his mentor.
* PapaWolf:
** Do not EVEN think to harm Luffy's crewmates if breathing is an activity you enjoy. Seriously, don't. When Lucci [[spoiler: beat Luffy the first time, Roger's voice was able to get him back on his feet by pointing out that if Lucci wasn't stopped he would murder every member of his crew]]. Needless to say, an ass-kicking ensued with Lucci on the receiving end.
** He even stands up to his grandpa, the one guy he's absolutely terrified of, for the sake of his crew.
* PipePain: In his childhood, before he developed his powers, this was Luffy's WeaponOfChoice. At Cross's recommendation, he begins using one again, and he's fully integrated it into his fighting style since then, using it as a [[HomeRunHitter bat]], [[BlowGun blowgun]], and anchor.
** Chapter 53 has Usopp add [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]] caps to the ends.
* RageBreakingPoint: After an entire week of running around, jumping from flying island to flying island, separated from his ship and most of his crew, all while fighting off mutated animal after mutated animal, Luffy has finally reached his absolute ''limit''. [[spoiler:When the animals show up to attack him and his friends ''again'' during the first bright spot they've had in days, he outright '''snaps''' and all but ''roars'' at them to leave, awakening his Conqueror's Haki in the process]].
* RubberMan: Courtesy of the Gum-Gum Fruit.
* StrongFamilyResemblance:
** To his grandfather Garp. Two people have noted this thus far: Aokiji, as in canon, and Jabra, who noticed after pushing Luffy's BerserkButton. Especially notable in the fact that Jabra doesn't know that the two are related.
*** Then, after Jabra unwisely ''smashed'' Luffy's Berserk Button in order to get the fight of his life, he realized he was wrong. Luffy was ''much'' worse.
** He also resembles his father Dragon enough that [[spoiler: Cross would have probably figured out their relationship after meeting Dragon had he not already known]].
* TookALevelInBadass: Most likely due to Cross's advice, Luffy intensified his training, to the point where he developed his Gear Second technique ''three arcs early,'' albeit only an incomplete version that he called "Gear 1.5".
** Then, in Navarone, we see that he developed Gear 2.5 as well.
** As of Chapter 35, Chopper worked out a way to decrease (or eliminate) the canon [[CastFromLifespan consequences]] of using his gears.
** Even better as of Chapter 42. [[spoiler: He used ''Armament Haki'']] five arcs earlier than canon.
* VillainRespect: Due to the actions of [[spoiler: the SBS]], Luffy is [[FamedInStory far more well-known]]. Because of this, coupled with his MagneticHero tendencies and the sheer craziness he gets himself, several villains have developed a great respect for Luffy, normally coupled with an interest in fighting him:
** First there was Lucci and Jabra who, after the fight with Foxy, [[WorthyOpponent both wished to fight him one-on-one]].
** While an ally later on, Hancock's position as of now makes her liable for this, as thanks to [[spoiler: the SBS]] she clearly has become a fan of his.
** Then there is [[spoiler: Sengoku after the whole business with Lily Carnation; he developed a similar respect towards Luffy for ridding the world of Lily]].
** During the assault of Enies Lobby '''Doflamingo himself''' wants to see, more than anything, the sheer madness that will arrive from the Era of the Straw Hat Pirates.
** Finally, pretty much all of his Supernova rivals hold him in incredibly high esteem. Kid outright calls him the gold standard for every pirate of their generation since he beat Crocodile, and Capone Bege declares that due to Luffy inspiring him to rob the Marines' gold stockpile, he owes Luffy a debt that will take years to repay.
* WorthyOpponent: The narrative outright states that Luffy is the only opponent Lucci will ever see as an equal, for giving him "the fight of his life".
* WrittenByTheWinners: [[HiddenDepths Part of his plan when he finally takes the Pirate King's crown]]: to redefine the whole idea of 'pirate' so that adventurous pirates like him will be the ''real'' pirates and the RapePillageAndBurn assholes will be the wannabe fakes.

* DrillSergeantNasty: Cross began training under him after the crew entered the Grand Line, and considering how hard Zoro trains himself, it's not surprising that he's like this. And after TheReveal, it only gets worse for him; he barely considers it worth it.
* SecretKeeper: Shortly after Cross's promotion to third mate, he and Nami begin serving as confidants for sensitive information.
* TheLancer: All of the crew is loyal to Luffy, but none more than Zoro.
* TookALevelInBadass: To a lesser degree due to how badass he is normally, but by Enies Lobby, he manages to OneHitKO Vice Admiral Momonga, and cut through ''his ship, the sea and the sky behind him'' in the process. [[WorfHadTheFlu Momonga wasn't using his Haki for offense]] (at first), but even he admits Zoro has him beat in traditional swordsmanship.
* WillfullyWeak: In the "don't want to use an advantage" sense; Zoro is too much of a swordsman purist to lace his blades with [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]], even after the crew obtains a sizeable supply. Though sea prism stone caps on the pommels are just fine with him.
** One-time advantages are fine with him, like putting salt paste on his swords for Thriller Bark.
* WreckedWeapon: Yubashiri, as in canon. Though it isn't completely destroyed, the Water 7 blacksmith can't fix it in time before the crew leaves, and so Zoro leaves it behind.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: He fully intends to sacrifice his dream to Kuma for Luffy [[spoiler: and Cross]].
* ZorroMark: Done via his Three-Sword Style Burst - Five Sense Ravager attack.

[[folder: Nami]]
!! "Weather Witch" Nami - Bounty: ฿125,000,000

Second Mate, Navigator, and Treasurer of the Straw Hat Pirates, a treasure-loving master of meteorology who dreams of drawing a map of the entire world.
----

* AchievementsInIgnorance: When she saw a glint from a far-off battleship, Nami assumed it was a sniper, and threw up a mirage to throw off said sniper's aim. What it actually was, was [[spoiler: [[LightTheWay Admiral Kizaru]] attempting to warp over to the Bridge and slaughter them all. Bottom line? Nami not only accidentally defeated Kizaru without even realizing it, she sent him flying so hard and far that he crashed into the Red Line.]]
* AintTooProudToBeg: [[spoiler: Upon hearing that Kuma will release only Luffy ''or'' Cross with Zoro's sacrifice, she offers up her own head and dream to save the two.]]
* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: Subverted. [[spoiler: The aftermath of taking Cross's pain onto herself really beats her up, and leaves left arm badly scarred on account of her clawing at it in an attempt to escape the pain.]]
* ChekhovsSkill: When she starts wondering if her skills as a thief would be able to help the crew in the future, Cross brings up a few pertinent ones, including lock picking. Said lock picking comes in handy when they end up in Crocodile's cage under Rain Dinners.
* CheshireCatGrin: She's quite adept with these (to the point where Cross once wonders if she ate the Cat-Cat Fruit, Model Cheshire while he was unconscious). Notable instances:
** When she's gloating to Kureha about Cross getting out of her medical bills.
** When fighting Kalifa, who is already peeved, while taunting her. She goes berserk.
* CodeName: As a Straw Hat confidante and thus privy to the New World Masons, she is given the codename Callie (short for California Mountain Snake).
* CoolBike: Her Waver, which Pagaya modified to be a one-man portable affair.
** Said Waver is strong enough to allow her to drive through the whirlpools and massive waves around Enies Lobby, allowing her to reach the gate controls and slam the Gates of Justice in Sengoku's (and the Marine fleet's) face.
* DefiantToTheEnd: Is this to the [[spoiler: "Golden Lion" Shiki]].
-->'''Nami''': Fulfill my wish first and then I'll join. And don't worry, it's an easy one.\\
'''[[spoiler: Shiki]]''': Deal! What is it?\\\\
'''Nami''': ''(smiling beatifically)'' Kill yourself.\\
''({{Beat}})''\\
'''[[spoiler: Shiki]]''': ''(laughs for eight seconds, and then grabs Nami by the throat)'' Alright, listen here, ''baby''—! ''(pauses as [[spoiler: he]] sees the defiance in her eyes)'' ...You really ''aren't'' afraid of me, are you?
-->'''Nami''': I...grew up... with evil... and I've... faced death... with a ''smile''... you're... nothing... new...
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: As detailed in AchievementsInIgnorance above, she [[spoiler: ''accidentally defeated a Marine Admiral'']].
* GreenLanternRing: [[spoiler: The Eisen Dial]] embedded into her Clima-Tact allows her to create solid constructs [[spoiler: out of Iron Cloud]].
* HadToBeSharp: Living a life as a thief working under an oppressive Fishman pirate has led to her developing quite a few skills just to survive, including lock picking, stealth, acting, and observation. In particular, the last one includes looking out for telltale glints of light, which could indicate gold to be snatched up or snipers homing in on her (which almost got her killed one time).
* HairpinLockpick: In lieu of using Mr. 3's powers to open the Straw Hats' cage under Rain Dinners, Nami used this to get them out. She scoffed at the fact that Crocodile would use such a common lock.
* IShallTauntYou: She enjoys tormenting her opponents when she has the upper hand. No surprise, since she's been on the sidelines for so long. Notable instance: she deliberately taunts an already incensed Kalifa despite knowing how dangerous she is, utilizing Cross's prophetic taunt:
-->'''Nami''': Maybe Conis misinformed me. But I thought you said that you'd sooner kiss Cross than take his advice? Because from my point of view... You're looking really bubbly right now.
* ImpossibleThief: Cross Lampshades this when she, somehow, manages to locate and steal all of the Accino family treasure in a couple minutes.
* MoneyFetish: She's the one in the picture on the trope page, enough said.
** In Chapter 31, she actually dry humps a pillar of gold.
* NeverGetsDrunk: Openly admits that her tolerance has gotten so high that she simply ''can't'' get drunk anymore, courtesy of her DarkAndTroubledPast.
* OnlySaneMan: Frequently falls into this role.
* PsychoactivePowers: The first time she uses [[spoiler: the Eisen Dial]] in an actual fight, the clouds generated are shown to react to her subconscious thoughts (like strangling Cross) unless she actively gets a hold on them.
* SecretKeeper: Shortly after Luffy promotes Cross to being the third mate, she and Zoro begin serving as confidants for sensitive information.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Besides her "Happiness Punch", she also changes on the Rocketman in full view of everyone.
* SimpleStaff: Before obtaining the Clima-Tact, Nami's only method of defense was bojutsu with a three-piece staff. After Boss and his students join, Nami has Donny give her help in reestablishing that skill.
* SuperSenses: Nami can detect Yoko spying on her due to the change in air currents.
* TemptingFate: She really shouldn't have kept opening her mouth when Cross said he wanted to get the heck out of Enies Lobby before the Marines (including Sengoku) broke through the Gates she just slammed shut in their faces. As it turns out, the top two brass there (Garp and Sengoku) are fully capable of smashing through them if they have enough time.
* TookALevelInBadass: Due to both her training and Cross telling her Kalifa's abilities in advance, Nami effortlessly takes the assassin down in Water 7.
** Also applies when she integrates [[spoiler: Ohm's [[GreenLanternRing Eisen Dial]]]] into her Clima-Tact.
*** Her aforementioned warping Kizaru into the Red Line.
*** Frying ''ten battleships'' during the escape from Enies Lobby.
** All of this eventually culminates in her [[spoiler: becoming one of the Supernovas]].
* WeakButSkilled: After gaining [[spoiler: Ohm's Iron Cloud-filled sword]] she shows far greater mastery of it in just a few minutes than its previous wielder ever did.
* WeatherControlMachine: The Clima-Tact, one of these in the form of a staff, is Nami's weapon of choice. Chapter 53 has Usopp reinforce the orbs with [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]].
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: [[spoiler: When she learns that Kuma only will release either Luffy or Cross and not both due to Zoro's sacrifice, she too intends to sacrifice her own dream alongside Zoro to get the two captured allies released.]]

[[folder: Usopp]]
!! "Sniper King" Usopp - Bounty: ฿40,000,000

Sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates, a coward and a liar with unequaled marksmanship skills who dreams of becoming as great a pirate as his father.
----

* BadLiar[=/=]ConsummateLiar: It depends on the circumstances which one he is; his tall tales are typically outrageous enough to be unbelievable, but at the same time, he's pulled off a lot with his bluffs.
* TheBlacksmith: An atypical example, but he is responsible for many of the crews' weapons and armor, be it building, repairing or upgrading them.
* BratsWithSlingshots: His WeaponOfChoice. Unassuming at first glance, but in Usopp's hands, it's as threatening as a gun, especially with the variety of {{Trick Bullet}}s he has on hand.
* DepletedPhlebotinumShells: Chapter 53 has him mentioning some special [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]] ammunition for him and Conis.
* GadgeteerGenius: As the weakest member of the crew, he leans heavily on these skills to keep up with the rest of the Straw Hats. And considering the fact that apart from his versatile arsenal he built and upgraded Nami's Clima-Tact, Vivi's Lion Cutters, and Cross and Carue's armor, ''and'' that said weapons have a reputation for being extremely durable, it's clear that said skills are a force to be reckoned with.
* ILikeThoseOdds: Usopp's thoughts on facing roughly 2500 enemy Marines with at most 70 people on his sides?
-->[[TookALevelInBadass These poor bastards don't even stand a chance.]]
* LovableCoward: The basis of his personality.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: Cross reassures Usopp that while he'll always be the weakest member of the crew, that only means he's the weakest out of the world's strongest crew, and one day he'd have the epithets of "Sniper King" and "God".
* TookALevelInBadass: After Boss and TDWS join the crew, Usopp steps up on his training, to the point that he takes out 1/3 of an army that tries to storm the Merry in Mock Town.
** And during the Enies Lobby Arc, he manages to utilize [[FlashStep Shave]].
* WakeUpFighting: Once sniped down the Unluckies with a single shot within milliseconds of being roused from unconsciousness.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sanji]]
!! "Black Leg" Sanji - Bounty: ฿90,000,000

Chef of the Straw Hat Pirates, a lady-loving man with unparalleled culinary skills and kicks stronger than cannons. He dreams of finding the All Blue, a legendary sea that is a home to all species of fish in the world.
----

* AgeGapAlgebra:
-->"Shirahoshi might forever be out of my reach by way of half-plus-seven, but surely there must be other women who I can grasp!"
* ArmedLegs: In Chapter 53, Usopp makes special soles out of [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]] for his shoes.
* BerserkButton: Never insult or hurt a lady in front of him, ''especially'' not a lady on his crew. And even more importantly, never, ''ever'' waste food in front of him.
* BurningWithAnger: Upon learning what Absalom did to Robin and Nami in canon, he spontaneously bursts into flames and takes multiple crew members to hold down.
* ChefOfIron: One of the main bases of his personality.
* ChivalrousPervert: One of the main bases of his personality.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: His reaction after [[spoiler:running into Blueno's pocket dimension]] to prevent him from using it.
* ExtremityExtremist: Since a chef's hands are his life, he relies exclusively on his feet to attack. And as stated above, he's trained enough that his kicks are stronger than cannons.
* GenreSavvy: At end of the Little East Blue arc, Sanji remarks that he knows enough about comic plotlines to know they're going to be in the thick of whatever scares Boss Kabuto so much.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Cross unleashes him on the Marines by telling him that they scarred Vivi. The results are predictably vicious and fiery.
* PlayingWithFire: his ''Diable Jambe'' is this, especially when he combines it with his version of the Tempest Kick.
* RazorWind: ''Apéritif'', his version of the Tempest Kick.
* SpitTake: Sometimes he starts choking on his cigarette whenever Cross makes a seemingly-innocuous remark. [[spoiler: Usually whenever he mentions secret agents and family.]]
* SupremeChef: Dude manages to make ''cloth and oil'' smell and look delicious when he prepares something for Merry.
* TookALevelInBadass: He was already one in canon, but by Enies Lobby, he is fully capable of combining the aforementioned ''Apéritif'' with his ''Diable Jambe'' flames to send out flaming air blades that can cut through pretty much anything.
** And during Thriller Bark, his finishing move against Absalom is Hell Memories, [[spoiler:[[DarkAndTroubledPast fueled by his memories of an iron mask]]]], an attack he only used previously post-time skip.

[[folder: Jeremiah Cross]]
!! "Voice of Anarchy" Jeremiah Cross a.k.a. [[CodeName Ophiuchus]] - Bounty: Unknown, more than ฿500,000,000 (shared with Soundbite)

The story's AuthorAvatar, third mate, tactician, and co-communications officer of the Straw Hat Pirates.
----

* ActionSurvivor: In comparison to his crewmates, Cross isn't really a fighter. All of the battles he gets that aren't against Mooks into generally devolve to running from his enemy until he finds a way to either lose them or knock them out safely. Even then, he gets pretty injured, as attested by his many scars. The true reason as to why he qualifies for this is the fact that he ''doesn't'' really need to put himself in danger - as attested by Smoker - but he does so anyway for the sake of his friends and beliefs.
* ArchEnemy:
** The Unluckies, who despise him so much that they refuse to retire until he's dead.
** Sengoku, who calls him the biggest aggravation of his career, if not his ''life''. It's ultimately one-sided though, as while Cross has lost a lot of respect for him, there is no personal animosity on his side of the equation.
* BandageBoy: [[spoiler: Thanks to Enel's ElectricTorture,]] his forearms and lower legs were flash-cooked inside his armor, [[BodyHorror leaving them looking like melted wax]]. Although he can still use his limbs and hands, they are now perpetually bandaged to preserve his exposed nerves.
** [[spoiler: Hattori]] slashing open his face means he'll be keeping his face bandaged as well.
** Given that [[spoiler: his future-self]] was covered in enough bandages to resemble a mummy, it's likely this trend will continue.
* BerserkButton: Do not call him any variation of Jeremiah, and do not mess with Soundbite.
** [[HateSink Spandam's]] entire existence. Cross absolutely and completely loathes him, to the point of telling the crew point blank that he would have no issues in killing him.
** Out-of-series references are the final button. It grates heavily on his sanity whenever Soundbite (or by extension B.R.O.B) gives any animal a voice from a different series, and even more so when their names happen to match. To the point where he wonders if they're intentionally trying to drive him insane at some points.
* BrassBalls: Lampshaded when he asks why Nami is always attacking his head or his groin, she yells back that they're both such large targets.
* BreakThemByTalking: It's practically his WeaponOfChoice, and undoubtedly his most dangerous; every time someone allows him to open his mouth, it proves to be more than they can handle. Vivi's masquerade as Miss Wednesday? Broken. Smoker and Tashigi's faith in the Navy's justice? Broken. Aokiji's unflappably nonchalant demeanor? Broken. Kaku and Kalifa's flawless masquerades? Broken. Hogback's intention not to tell the world about Thriller Bark? Broken. And those are just the ones he did on purpose.
* TheChewToy: Between bites to the ear, strangulation, broken noses, {{Groin Attack}}s (usually from Vivi) and Zoro's TrainingFromHell, Cross is very well acquainted with physical abuse.
* CodeName: As the warden for the New World Masons, he has the codename Ophiuchus, the unofficial thirteenth member of the Western Zodiac.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: When Tashigi informs him that Shiki used the Snail Transceiver to broadcast visual projections of the Straw Hats' struggles, he is far more concerned over Shiki getting more viewers than he has listeners on the SBS.
-->'''Tashigi''': ''(emotionlessly)'' …Please tell me someone else is listening to you right now, Cross. Because I need to hear someone punching you for getting your priorities out of line. I ''need'' to hear you in pain.
* DoubleMeaning: Sometimes Cross's future info comes out like this; either because there are things he really does not want particular people to know, or simply because [[RuleOfFunny he wants a laugh.]]
* DisproportionateRetribution: Cross's bounty was not specified by the narrative because it was ''ridiculously'' high -- Sengoku asked for a perfectly reasonable ฿500,000,000, but ''somebody'' (*coughcoughGarpcoughcough*) forged his signature for a much higher bounty request.
* TheFaceless: Subverted; for the first twenty-one chapters and the ChristmasEpisode, the author gives no description what Cross looks like aside from his clothes, but [[http://nouin.deviantart.com/art/Cross-and-Soundbite-Commission-587057354 he did have a picture]] before the story gave a few details, and eventually a full description in Chapter 32.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: For the World Government, he was initially an annoying pirate kid unable to shut his mouth, even when imperiled. Then he started waving their dirty laundry for ''everyone'' to see by using the SBS, and he's scarily well-informed about what's really going about. After Enies Lobby -- well, he's one of the most wanted men in the world.
* TheGadfly: Though not to as big a degree as his partner, Cross really enjoys a good prank. One particular example is encouraging (a tethered) Usopp to go cloud-swimming, knowing what is at the bottom (or lack thereof).
* GoodOldFisticuffs: Cross's fighting style is straight up brawling and his teachers agree the only way for him to get better is [[TaughtByExperience by fighting]].
* GrapplingHookPistol: Makes use of the Usopp [=AAaaaAAAaaaAA=]! (a grappling hook belt) long after the Skypiea Arc is over, perfected so that it can detach.
* GuileHero: Only somewhat stronger than everyday {{Mooks}}, and does the majority of damage through his silver tongue, unorthodox strategies, future knowledge, and penchant for tap-dancing on {{Berserk Button}}s.
* HeroicBSOD: Cross has a brief one in Chapter 19 when he realizes that it was his presence and intervention that resulted in Mr. 3 getting a second chance and killing countless civilians and Marines in Rainbase. It doesn't last long, however, before he refocuses his attention on the one who's ''more'' to blame.
* HyperventilationBag: Required one after seeing his ridiculously high bounty.
* InHarmsWay: On a day-to-day basis, Cross is an adrenaline junkie that goes LaughingMad whenever he's in a dangerous situation, like tow-skiing on a tightrope or having a galleon fall on his head. A bet was even won on the fact that Cross is actively trying to get himself killed.
* InsistentTerminology: For the first dozen and a half chapters, he objects to being called a brat or a kid, being eighteen. He still insists on it now and then, but it's less frequent.
* InSpiteOfANail: Despite his foreknowledge and subsequent actions to change the future, things rarely turn out very differently than before in a beneficial way. This is actually his greatest fear: that despite his best efforts, he'll fail to stop the War of the Best and Ace's death.
* LastNameBasis: Everyone calls him Cross, initially because they don't realize Cross is his family name, but later because it's simply his preferred nickname.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: Has this relationship with Robin, who returns the sentiment. It's very sweet.
* MadeOfIron: Thanks to Kureha's miracle vitamins and local food, this is what Cross becomes, enough to [[spoiler: survive 100,000,000-volt ElectricTorture]]. But originally, he was...
* MadeOfPlasticine: When the baseline of the world is being MadeOfIron, this applies to an outsider like Cross; one of ''Nami's Idiot Punches'' knocks him out for ten minutes. Fortunately, Kureha's vitamin supplements fix that problem for the most part when they get to Drum.
* NewJobAsThePlotDemands: Cross doesn't lose his old jobs, but he goes from being the communications officer of the Straw Hats to also being the third mate, tactician, and public relations officer.
* NiceHat: He obtained a Marine cap from a random grunt in Chapter 18, which Tashigi allowed him to keep in Chapter 19. In Chapter 26, Usopp finishes the redesign of the cap, coloring it black with white crossbones and a cross moline. And in Chapter 38, Usopp upgrades it into an inconspicuous [[TheHardHat Hard Hat]].
* NotSoOmniscientAfterAll: As much as Cross knows ''One Piece'' inside and out, he was inserted 9/19/2015, and thus has read up to [[http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Chapter_800 chapter 800]] of the manga at ''best.'' He also has some glaring blind spots because [[spoiler:he never saw any of the movies. That one puts him through all kinds of hell as he only saw the ''[[CoversAlwaysLie poster]]'' for ''Anime/BaronOmatsuriAndTheSecretIsland'']].
* OnlySaneMan: The threshold for sanity on this crew is so low that the adrenaline-addicted gadfly is a model of rationality.
* PlotAllergy: Eating biscuits, for a reason that not even he knows, causes him an instantaneous and excruciating case of diarrhea that lasts for a half hour.
* ScarsAreForever: Cross's forearms and legs are permanently scarred from his [[spoiler:ElectricTorture at Eneru's hands]]. Chopper says he could have fixed them but didn't have time as he first had to make sure Cross's internal organs weren't going to fail.
** At Enies Lobby, his face is slashed open, leaving his nasal cavity exposed unless he keeps it bandaged.
* SignatureLaugh: "''Pfffhahahahahaha!''"
* TheSmartGuy: Explicitly acknowledged as such by Luffy when he decides to make Cross the Third Mate and tactician, as our straw-hatted glutton fully knows he's [[HeroicSelfDeprecation not that smart]].
* SwordAndGun: Due to taking ownership of Lasso and Funkfreed. He's still working on using them simultaneously.
* StunnedSilence: When he and Soundbite see their new bounty.
* ThouShaltNotKill: Cross has a notable aversion to actually killing anyone (except Spandam). He panics initially taking down a Baroque Works Mook in Whiskey Peak, and a Marine Mook in Alabasta, until he confirms that they're alive. It's solidified, however, when he has Mr. 13 at his mercy, the assassin having just tried to kill ''him''. Even considering the fact that he's [[WhatMeasureIsANonHuman just an otter]] ultimately isn't enough, and he settles for simply knocking him out... albeit brutally.
** In Water 7, Cross admits that he knows he'll have to kill eventually, but he wants to delay it as long as possible.
* TookALevelInBadass: As of Chapter 54, he has gotten strong enough to face an entire pirate crew all by himself '''and win'''.
* TheUnreveal: His new bounty, which is so large that Robin can only name Dragon and the Four Emperors as having bounties higher than his. [[note]]the authors state that his bounty will be named when Dragon's and the Four Emperors' are[[/note]] One he's bumped down a rank is [[http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Jack Jack]] - a PersonOfMassDestruction worth '''''฿1,000,000,000.'''''
* WeakButSkilled: Even with Zoro's TrainingFromHell to increase his stamina, Kureha's miracle vitamins to increase his durability to the standard of a WorldOfBadass, and Usopp's custom-made armor to increase his hitting power, Cross's strength is enough to stand up to {{Mooks}} and not much else. He makes up for that, however, with his cleverness, to the point where Luffy named him the crew's tactician and third mate shortly after they entered the Grand Line.
* WeaponOfChoice:
** LawmanBaton: Smoker gave him one in Loguetown. In Chapter 35, Usopp upgrades it with a Thunder Dial, turning it into a [[StaticStunGun Taser Baton]]. Unfortunately, it's [[WreckedWeapon destroyed]] in Chapter 42.
** PowerFist + ArmedLegs + TheHardHat: Usopp originally created the gauntlets and greaves to help with Cross's last-ditch brawler fighting, but once he has access to Dials, he upgrades his gauntlets with a [[BlindedByTheLight Flash Dial]] and an [[AttackReflector Impact Dial]]. In Chapter 38, his cap is added, padding and metal plating changing it from accessory to armor. In Chapter 53, it is upgraded with [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]] knuckles and reinforcement.
** EquippableAlly: Soundbite can amplify and disguise his voice, giving him an even greater ability to screw with people. [[spoiler:The trope is played a bit straighter with [[{{BFG}} Lassoo]], and later [[CoolSword Funkfreed]]. [[SwordAndGun And even later, both]].]]
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: [[spoiler: Enel's ElectricTorture]] has left him with a case of astraphobia, making him flinch whenever he sees as much as a flash of lightning. Chapter 37 reveals that Chopper's therapy has almost completely eroded it.

[[folder: Soundbite]]
!! "Voice of Anarchy" Soundbite - Bounty: Unknown (shared with Jeremiah Cross)

Co-communications officer of the Straw Hat Pirates, a Baby Transponder Snail that ate the Noise-Noise Fruit. Cross's partner and best friend.
----

* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: He constantly snarks at Cross and never hesitates to bite him, but genuinely cares about his well-being, becoming utterly distraught when Enel inflicts ElectricTorture upon Cross and plotting a way to [[CurbStompBattle Curb-Stomp]] the Foxy Pirates in order to retrieve Cross from them. Most notably, when Cross is about to be killed in the Enies Lobby arc, he [[spoiler: Awakens his Devil Fruit]] to save him.
* BerserkButton: For all the snark, Soundbite still considers Cross his best friend; threaten his partner, and you'll pay. [[spoiler: He '''Awakened''' his powers solely because of this.]]
* CallingYourAttacks: Cross and Soundbite begin doing this in Chapter 21, basing them off of the root "Gastro" as in gastropod.
** '''[[MakeMeWannaShout Gastro-Blast]]''': Soundbite's primary offensive technique. While in physical contact with a victim, Soundbite lets out a loud noise along the same frequency as his or her bones, shattering them. Initially lethal, he manages to tone it down enough to leave the victims alive after practicing. Also capable of shattering wood, stone and metal and flash-cooking and liquefying food.
*** '''[[UpToEleven Gastro-Blast: Stereo Edition]]''': A remote version of Gastro-Blast, requiring physical proximity but not contact. [[spoiler: One of his new [[EnlightenmentSuperpowers Awakened abilities]]]].
** '''[[BrownNote Gastro-Phony]]''': Soundbite's secondary offensive technique. Taken from "cacophony," Soundbite fills the air with noise to mask the underlying tones that tickle the inner ears of anyone in the vicinity, causing extreme dizziness and nausea.
*** '''[[SensoryAbuse Gastro-Nation]]''': An improved version of Gastro-Phony [[spoiler: thanks to his Awakening]], Soundbite [[QuieterThanSilence mutes the area around his enemy]], uses [[BrownNote Gastro-Phony to induce nausea]], and vibrates their brain and skull at just the right frequency that it feels like [[MySkullRunnethOver their brain is grinding itself apart]].
** '''[[NoIndoorVoice Gastro-Amp]]''': Soundbite amplifies the volume of someone's voice within his range so that anyone in said range can hear that voice.
** '''[[VoiceChangeling Gastro-Clone]]''': Soundbite speaks while flawlessly imitating a voice he's heard, typically for either deception or entertainment.
*** '''Gastro-Blur''': Soundbite masks someone's voice with a distorted male and female voice speaking in unison, for the purpose of protecting their identity.
** '''[[SensoryOverload Gastro-Flash]]''': Soundbite lets out an earsplitting siren while Cross activates a modified Flash Dial, resulting in a flashbang effect.
** '''[[PokeInTheThirdEye Gastro-Scramble]]''': Soundbite fills the air with white noise to prevent anyone from eavesdropping on their conversation. [[spoiler: Unfortunately, it can't affect the ghosts made by the Hollow-Hollow Fruit, and can be neutralized with sufficiently strong Observation Haki.]]
** '''[[SuperSenses Gastro-Sonar]]''': Like a bat, Soundbite bounces sound off objects to get a visual map of the immediate location. [[spoiler: One of his new [[EnlightenmentSuperpowers Awakened abilities]]]].
** '''[[BarrierWarrior Gastro-Barrier]]''': Soundbite wraps himself in a sphere of polarized sound, which diverts away most damage directed at him.
* CodeName: As Ophiuchus's partner, he chooses the codename Knucker.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Even after Robin joins the crew, Soundbite maintains his enmity towards her from their encounter in Whiskey Peak... up until Cross gives him a peek at her DarkAndTroubledPast.
-->'''Cross''': Ever see an entire island, people and all, perish in fire in less than an ''hour?''...She has; that's what happened to her home when she was eight. She was the only survivor, and the World Government's been hunting her ever since.
** Despite being practically the poster child for TheGadfly, even Soundbite finds nothing funny about people dying.
* FantasticRacism: Has this towards birds due to their place in the food chain compared to snails. The only exceptions are Isaiah and Terry, though Coo has earned some respect.
* TheGadfly: He'll do anything for a good laugh, often at others' expense.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: As Nami put it, he can hear everything within a mile of him and make anyone in that range hear anything he wants. Plus, as of Chapter 31, "hear anything" apparently extends to [[spoiler:''the Voice of All Things''. The same power that enabled Roger to read Poneglyphs and him and Luffy to understand Sea King speech]]. If that's not enough, by Chapter 40, [[spoiler:'''Awakening''' his Devil Fruit can even make his opponents hear ''[[QuieterThanSilence silence]]''.]]
* HeyThatsMyLine: Doesn't like it when other people steal his 'Start the SBS' RunningGag.
* InsistentTerminology: Soundbite always objects to being treated or designated as [[WhatMeasureIsANonHuman less than a genuine sentient being]]; he's a true member of the Straw Hats, not their pet.
* LogicalWeakness: If his mouth or throat are obstructed, he can't use his Noise-Noise powers. [[spoiler: This changes once his power Awakens.]]
* SecretKeeper:[[spoiler: He overhears Zoro and Nami's WhatYouAreInTheDark sacrifices to Kuma in order to save both Luffy and Cross from being taken by him. Soundbite knows if anyone were to learn this, it would be catastrophic for the morale of the Straw Hats. He eventually tells Lassoo and Funkfreed this since he couldn't hold it in.]]
* SignatureLaugh: Some combination of "''Hoohoohoo''", "''Heeheehee''", "''Hohoho''" and/or "''Hahaha''". The order varies.
* ToiletHumor: Cross specifically prohibits him from playing the Wedding March at the Accino/Hiruno wedding to avoid this, since he probably would have done it entirely out of fart noises. Soundbite concedes the point.
* TookALevelInBadass:
** When overuse of his Devil Fruit in Skypiea unlocks the ability to [[spoiler: hear ''the Voice of All Things''.]]
** And again in Enies Lobby, when Cross about to be killed [[spoiler: causes his Devil Fruit to '''[[EnlightenmentSuperpowers Awaken]]'''.]]
* {{Ventriloquism}}: The basis of the Noise-Noise Fruit; it enables the user to emit any sound that they've ever heard, forward or reversed, at any volume, anywhere within range of the user's senses. Soundbite had a naturally extended range of a quarter mile already due to being a Transponder Snail, but once he's fitted with a standard rig for a Transponder Snail, that range extends to a full mile.
* VerbalTic: As he has no voice of his own, he speaks with a randomized combination of other people's voices, like a spliced recording.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Mostly he and Cross; while they're seamless in battle, they love snarking at each other more than anything. But Soundbite has this relationship with many of the other members of the crew as well due to his prankster tendencies, most notably Usopp, who usually serves as his ButtMonkey.
* VoiceChangeling: Soundbite can mimic any sound he's ever heard, backwards, forwards, or any other way you can think of. This is, however, the only way that he can speak, which results in him using an amalgamation of different voices for his sentences. Chapter 17 reveals that he's fully capable of picking one voice and sticking with it, and he explains his reasoning for doing otherwise. One aspect of his powers that he uses often is giving animals the ability to speak. Vivi's pet duck Carue speaks in WesternAnimation/DonaldDuck's voice, Eyelashes the camel in Alabasta speaks in [[Creator/JeffDunham Achmed the Dead Terrorist's voice]], Scissors the moving crab from Alabasta speaks with GratuitousSpanish...and so on. The point is that when he gives [[TalkingAnimal animals the ability]] to speak with his powers, he determines their voices based on what/who they are. The voices he gives them suit them, but his own voice is all of the voices.
* WeakButSkilled: Soundbite's powers make him amazing at listening in on enemies, bluffing out his opponents and mustering reinforcements in seconds, plus he's managed to work out some genuine attacks. But without his powers, he's just a snail.
** Applies especially after his [[spoiler: Awakening: his control over his powers is boosted by several orders of magnitude, but a snail just doesn't have enough energy to throw around that sort of power for very long]].
* WeaksauceWeakness: Salt. He is a snail, after all; this has mostly been PlayedForLaughs. Chapter 34 reveals that due to Transponder Snails as a species building up a resistance over years at sea, saltwater isn't outright deadly, but does give him extreme nausea.

!!Joined in Paradise!!

[[folder: Tony Tony Chopper]]
!! "Spark of Genius" Tony Tony Chopper - Bounty: ฿66,000,000

Doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates, a reindeer empowered with intelligence thanks to the Human-Human Fruit who dreams of finding a cure for all illnesses.
----

* AdaptationalBadass: Due to Cross's advice and his subsequent experimentation, Chopper... well, let's just say he grows a lot more capable of channeling his foster mother and teacher, Kureha.
* BerserkButton: Don't disregard DoctorsOrders, and don't perform any medical "malpractice" in front of him.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique:
** [[TheBerserker Monster Point]], his dangerous eighth form that he can access by consuming three Rumble Balls. [[spoiler: Though thanks to his enhanced intelligence, he doesn't lose ''all'' of his mental faculties when he enters this form; he keeps enough to be able to learn and adapt to attacks... [[ItCanThink which makes it even more dangerous]]]].
** In another way, he has developed [[SuperSerum serums]] and [[KlatchianCoffee stimulants]] that can keep him running long past exhaustion, but will knock him out for hours when they wear off. One's even labeled "Last Resort".
* FateWorseThanDeath: One of the Marines at Enies Lobby tells his comrades to make sure Chopper doesn't take him alive, even if they have to shoot him themselves.
* ForScience: The mentality of Chopper's Mr. Hyde-esque alter-ego, created by using a serum to access his Devil Fruit's human intelligence. The only way to snap him out of it is [[GetAHoldOfYourselfMan a strong conk to the noggin]].
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: When sufficiently angered, Chopper's eyes flash a glowing cyan like his berserker Monster Point.
* KnifeNut: After analyzing all the times Kureha chucked scalpels at him (and traumatizing himself in the process), Chopper has managed to replicate her throwing technique. In Chapter 53, Usopp helps with it by making some scalpels out of [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]].
* MadDoctor: After experimenting with his powers at Cross's suggestion, he soon finds himself capable of increasing his intelligence at the cost of entering a Mr. Hyde-like state with a propensity [[AC:ForScience!]]
* MultiformBalance: His method of combat revolves around the speed, strength, and intelligence granted by his Devil Fruit's three forms, as well as expanding those forms into seven with his Rumble Ball.
* ScienceHero: Between his trick compounds and serums to boost his stamina, he's definitely this with a focus on chemistry.
* TranquilFury: Learning the truth about Hogback gives Chopper the means to control his Mr. Hyde-like personality: by focusing all his psychosis on a single target.
* TrickBomb: His experience with chemistry has produced some interesting compounds, such as:
** '''[[StuffBlowingUp Cherry Blossom Blast]]''': Essentially nitroglycerine's older brother; Chopper throws scalpels with pinpoint accuracy to strike test tubes filled with the stuff and detonate it.
*** '''Cherry Blossom Blast Blizzard''': A much more volatile form of Cherry Blossom Blast, used very sparingly.
** '''[[SmokeScreen Cherry Blossom Haze]]:''' A smoke bomb; a single test tube of the stuff creates a pink cloud capable of covering a football field.
** '''[[ForcedSleep Cherry Blossom Slumber]]:''' A chemical used to make combatants fall asleep; first used offscreen.

[[folder: Nefertari Vivi]]
!! "Corsair Princess" Nefertari Vivi - Bounty: ฿80,000,000

The kindhearted princess of the desert kingdom Alabasta who allied with the Straw Hat Pirates to save her country from the criminal syndicate Baroque Works. The World Government unjustly assigned her a bounty following the Alabasta arc, and she subsequently joined the Straw Hats as the negotiator.
----
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Pacifist though she is, when she gets mad, she's capable of scaring the likes of Smoker.
* {{Bridezilla}}: By proxy. During the Lovely Land arc, she uses the arranged marriage between the Accino and Hiruno famiglias to arrange what would've been her dream wedding. As a result, she is intent on making sure everything goes as perfectly as possible, much to ''everyone's'' consternation.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: See ShipTease. It's implied that Vivi and Kohza are aware their feelings for each other are mutual, but obviously, circumstances currently prevent them from having a relationship right now. There is, however, an understanding that they will be together when they get the chance.
* CodeName: As a Straw Hat confidante and thus privy to the New World Masons, she is given the codename Copperhead.
* CompellingVoice: [[spoiler: As of Chapter 41, she's unlocked an ability that lets her order people to do whatever she says for a given period of time. Garp later identifies it as the Sovereign's Will, a variation of ''Conqueror's Haki''.]]
* CovertPervert: According to Carue, she has ''quite'' the {{Hentai}} collection.
* FateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler: Her bounty specifies that she is to be taken alive, as opposed to 'Dead or'. Her father and Cross suspect that this is due to the World Nobles wanting to handle her punishment personally, which would effectively serve to punish her friends and family as much as her herself.]]
* IChooseToStay: Averted. Instead of staying in Alabasta, Vivi leaves with the Straw Hats [[spoiler:due to the World Nobles having the Government issue her a bounty for working with the Straw Hats, meaning she can't become queen eventually, and the trip to either Impel Down or Mariejois that would result from her being caught]].
* OhMyGods: Frequently invokes the Alabastan (read: Egyptian) pantheon.
* {{Polyglot}}: In Chapter 14, she states that she knows twelve different languages.
* PrecisionFStrike: Vivi expresses her sentiments on being accused of treason by the World Government as.
--> ''"Fuck every last one of those bastards who banished me from my home, hard."''
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: As stated above, she's a pacifist. Despite that, she left her royal lifestyle and infiltrated in a criminal organization that was trying to destroy her country, portraying herself effectively as a bounty hunter. For two years. Starting when she was ''14''.
* SecretWeapon: Her Sirocco charm-container, given to her by her father to be used in the direst of emergencies. [[spoiler: It contains the pomegranate seed of an active Devil Fruit - the [[BlowYouAway Logia-type Gust-Gust Fruit]], the Storm of Alabasta.]]
* ShipTease: With Kohza. Cross outright admits he won't pursue her because Kohza would kill him if he did, Soundbite idly notes that Kohza would enjoy Vivi's new bounty picture, and Vivi states she started planning her dream wedding when she realized she had feelings for a certain ''someone''. At this point, they're the closest the story has to an OfficialCouple, even if Kohza's already minimal screen time went down drastically after the Alabasta arc ended.
* TheDitz: She has a tendency to act before [[NowYouTellMe remembering, considering, or displaying all available information]]. It doesn't happen much, though; she tends to only do that ''when it involves something potentially deadly.''
* TechnicalPacifist: She hates hurting people, but she is perfectly willing to fight for her friends. She also likes to break Cross's nose when he gets on her nerves.
* TookALevelInBadass: In canon, she admits that she was probably the weakest of the Straw Hats when they left Alabasta. Here, by the time of Enies Lobby, thanks to her [[spoiler:[[CompellingVoice Sovereign's Will]]]] and her Lion Cutters, she manages to defeat a Marine Captain.
* WeaponOfChoice: Her Peacock Slashers when they first meet her, but this changes to the Lion Cutters, a pair of [[EpicFlail chain-linked]] [[SinisterScythe crescent-blade kusarigama]], when [[spoiler: she joins the crew full-time.]] Chapter 53 has Usopp temper them with [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Carue]]
!! Carue "the Duck"

A Supersonic Duck, a species of duck native to Alabasta as big as humans and capable of moving at great speeds. Vivi's pet, bodyguard, and best friend, who joined the Straw Hats alongside her.
----

* {{Angrish}}: Soundbite gave him WesternAnimation/DonaldDuck's voice.
* BerserkButton: He has a lot of pride in his captaincy in the Alabastan Military and as Vivi's lifelong bodyguard; mock his capabilities in either at your peril.
* LovableCoward: Not as much as Usopp, but it's noticeable enough.
* LoyalAnimalCompanion: Emphasis on loyal; fear aside, he'll gladly give his life to protect Vivi.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: [[spoiler:When Robin is about to give Vivi her first lesson in reading Poneglyphs]], Carue ran off because his bodyguard duty does not extend to ''tutors''.
* SuperReflexes: As a Supersonic Duck, his brain can [[BulletTime process visual information]] a lot faster than normal to prevent him from crashing into things no matter how fast he goes. It goes into overdrive when he gets an adrenaline rush.
* SuperSpeed: He's a ''Supersonic'' Duck; it's ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin.
** And when he starts Shaving, he starts throwing around ''sonic booms''.
* TookALevelInBadass: Masters [[FlashStep Shave]] to safely get him and his passengers past Rob Lucci.
** And then he starts [[UpToEleven kicking the ground more times per second]] to go ''even faster''.
* WeaponizedAnimal: Has taken to wearing armor with [[RazorWings bladed wings]] and talons after joining the Straw Hats full time. It's tempered with [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]] in Chapter 53.

[[folder:Lassoo]]
!! Lassoo

A bazooka granted life by the Mutt-Mutt Fruit, Model: Dachshund. Formerly the pet/weapon of Baroque Works' Mr. 4 pair, they gave him to Cross following the events in Alabasta.
----

* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Can accurately guesstimate distances, trajectories, and fuse times in the space of a few minutes, all to ensure his shots land their mark.
* {{BFG}}: His original form.
* BloodKnight: The whole reason that Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas gave Lassoo to Cross in the first place; they were planning on retiring, but Lassoo is a weapon, literally born for battle, [[InHarmsWay and would never be satisfied with retired life]].
* BottomlessMagazines: Stated to be part of his Devil Fruit abilities; just as a living body can produce blood, bile, and mucus, his ammo chamber can perpetually reproduce any ammo he uses without ever having to reload.
* CallingYourAttacks: 4 and Christmas didn't give his attacks names, so Cross remedies that.
** '''[[StuffBlowingUp Cani-Cannon]]''': His basic technique, shooting bombs shaped like baseballs.
** '''[[OilSlick Cani-Slick]]''': Courtesy of Usopp's upgrades, he shoots a spray of slippery octopus ink at his targets.
** '''[[StickySituation Cani-Plaster]]''': Another of his upgraded ammo shots, he fires a glob of adhesive tar at his targets.
** '''[[SmokeBomb Cani-Screen]]''': Another of his upgraded ammo shots, he produces a smokescreen, either for discombobulation or distraction to run away.
** '''[[PlayingWithFire Cani-Palm]]''': Taken from 'napalm', Lassoo shoots fire courtesy of a Flame Dial. Exceptionally deadly when combined with Cani-Plaster.
** '''[[FrickinLaserBeams Cani-Blast]]''': An upgraded shot courtesy of Conis, Lassoo fires a pillar of superheated air, like a Burn Bazooka.
** '''[[BlowYouAway Cani-Blank]]''': A shell with compressed air that [[BlownAcrossTheRoom knocks back opponents]].
* CombinationAttack: Has two.
** With Soundbite, he can perform the '''[[MakeMeWannaShout Gastro-Cani Combo: Bass Cannon and Bass Mortar]]''', where Soundbite [[QuieterThanSilence polarizes]] the volume of his bombs' explosion to make the sound hit like a physical force.
** With Funkfreed, he can perform the '''[[SmokeOut Pachy-Cani Combo: Superhot Hell Riot]]''', where the two fire their respective elemental Dial attacks (Cani-Palm and [[MakingASplash Pachy-Riot]]) to create a blinding cloud of steam vapor.
* EquippableAlly: Technically, he's Cross's weapon, but don't call him anything other than his partner.
* GunNut: He was extremely grateful when Conis provided them with a massive arsenal. Not surprising, considering that he's a gun himself.
* IAmBigBoned: When Soundbite and Funkfreed claim he's gotten fat while he's gorging on a steak, he vehemently claims that he's hefty. In truth, the reason he weighs more is putting back on the weight he had when he first joined Cross that Chopper and Usopp trimmed off.
* LazyBum: He seems to be this whenever he's not in combat, even if it's in the midst of another sort of life-or-death situation.
* LivingWeapon: Of course.
* MorphicResonance: Modifications to his gun body show up in his dog form too; after Usopp upgraded his revolver chamber, it shows up as a patch of discolored fur around his midsection.
* SecretKeeper: [[spoiler: Keeps Soundbite's secret regarding Zoro, Nami and Kuma safe]]
* SignatureLaugh: Soundbite gave him the "''Hweehweehwee''" wheeze-laugh of [[WesternAnimation/WackyRaces Muttley]].
* TrickBullet: Usopp integrated some of his trick ammo into Lassoo's upgraded revolver chamber.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Boss Dugong]]
!! "Man of the Sea" Boss Dugong - Bounty: ฿80,000,000

Chief Ship Guard of the Straw Hat Pirates, a seasoned and powerful Kung Fu Dugong that joins the crew at the end of the Alabasta arc. He dreams of learning every martial art in the world, to one day find and surpass his own traveling master, Sifu Dugong.
----

* AlmightyJanitor: As a mere ship guard, he is technically not very high on the crew's pecking order, even if you take his bounty into account. But that hasn't prevented his strength from being compared to that of the Monster Trio's.
* CatchPhrase: Boss has one whenever he exults about the glory of doing something awesome being "A Man's Romance". Lately, it has expanded into "A Man's Pride", "A Man's Duty" and "A Man's Dream".
* CallingYourAttacks: Boss and his 'Half-Shell Style', another blatant TMNT reference.
** This also applies to his 'Full-Shell Style', his version of [[spoiler: the Six Powers: [[FlashStep Rip Tide]], [[DoubleJump Tidal Swim]], [[FingerPokeOfDoom Squall Pistol]], [[MadeOfIron Shell Body]], [[RagdollPhysics Nori Arts]], [[RazorWind Typhoon Lash]] and [[AllYourPowersCombined Six Oceans Gun]]]].
* CigarChomper: Is very rarely seen without one.
* EpicFlail: Boss' preferred weapon is a rope dart, [[ImprovisedWeapon with the rope made of seaweed and the dart made of both metal and coral]]. When it begins to wear out, he finds a new weapon in Mock Town: a [[HooksAndCrooks cargo hook on a rope]]. He can even use it as a [[SufferTheSlings sling for long-range attacks]].
** This is upgraded to a Thermal Dart once Usopp gets his hands on a Heat Dial. And later with [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]].
* FantasticFightingStyle: His Half-Shell Style and later Full-Shell Style, the latter of which is [[spoiler:a renamed version of [=CP9=]'s Six Powers]]), and which he's also teaching to the TDWS.
* HeroicBuild: Is absolutely '''ripped''' underneath his shell.
* HiddenDepths: Boss apparently knows Grand Line standard Sign Language, such that he can communicate without Soundbite (at least to those that know it as well).
* InstantExpert: Boss claims he's devoted himself to learning how to learn, and it SHOWS. 10 minutes with a [[spoiler: Six Powers cheat sheet]], and he can replicate the entire martial art [[spoiler: as well as its ultimate attack.]]
* MadeOfIron: Boss Dugong has been hardening his fists for so long that he can take cigar burns without even feeling them. [[spoiler: Even more so when he gets the hang of Iron Body]].
* MeaningfulRename: Boss' original name was Apprentice, but he took the name Disciple while learning under Sifu Dugong, and just before joining the Straw Hats, Chief Dugong renamed him Boss, a name reserved for the strongest of all Kung Fu Dugongs.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: Let's not forget that for all his manliness, fighting prowess and ''rock-cracking strength'', he's still only a few feet tall.
* RatedMForManly: Enamored that he is with "a Man's Romance", testosterone is his lifeblood. When he witnesses [[AfroAsskicker Afro Luffy]] during the Davy Back Fight, [[TestosteronePoisoning it starts poisoning him]].
* SergeantRock: Has the voice of a drill sergeant, if not the [[DrillSergeantNasty temperament]] (that only shows up when disciplining the TDWS).
* SubmissiveBadass: Turns out, Boss was lying about his name being reserved for the second strongest Kung-Fu Dugong. It's reserved for the strongest one period. He always [[ILetYouWin threw his fights]] against Chief and Lancer because he didn't want to be a leader.
* ToBeAMaster: Boss's dream is to learn every martial art there is, for the sole purpose of following in the footsteps of his own master.
* TookALevelInBadass: When his Half-Shell Style no longer becomes sufficient, Boss kicks it up a notch to the Full-Shell Style, [[spoiler: his version of the Six Powers]].
* TrainingFromHell: Both a recipient and arbiter of such.

[[folder: TDWS]]
!! "Disciples of the Sea" Teenage Dugong Warrior Squad - Bounty: ฿45,000,000 ("Half-Shell Blade" Leo - ฿15,000,000; Mikey, Raphey, and Donny - ฿10,000,000)

Ship Guards of the Straw Hat Pirates, Boss's four Kung Fu Dugong apprentices that join the crew alongside their mentor at the end of the Alabasta arc. They consist of Mikey, the funny one; Donny, the smart one; Raphey, the tough one; and Leo, the leader.
----

* AmbiguousGender: Even Soundbite couldn't tell that Raphey was short for Raphaella until she corrected him.
* CatchPhrase: TDWS has the group one of "GO, BOSS, GO!" whenever Boss does or says something awesome.
* CallingYourAttacks: The four students seem to [[ShoutOut name their attacks]] after the artists that they took their names from.
** Leo's named attacks: [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitruvian_Man Vitruvian Vindication]], [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._John_the_Baptist_(Leonardo) Cross of the Baptist]], and [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medusa_(Leonardo_da_Vinci_painting) Medusa Mitigation]].
** Raphey's sole named attack: [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_George_and_the_Dragon_(Raphael) Spear of St. George]].
** Mikey's sole named attack: [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_(Michelangelo) Might of David]].
** Donny's sole named attack: [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Feast_of_Herod_(Donatello) Herod's Wrath]].
* {{Expy}}: The acronym alone should be enough to draw the links to ''Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles''. If it's not, we have the names (Mikey, Donny, Raphey, and Leo, references to Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, and Leonardo), the weapons ([[FightingWithChucks twin nunchucks]], [[SimpleStaff bo staff]], [[SaiGuy twin sai]], and [[KatanasAreJustBetter twin katana]], respectively) and the headbands (orange, purple, pink, and blue).
* FourTemperamentEnsemble:
** Phlegmatic: [[TheLancer Leo]]
** Melancholic: [[TheSmartGuy Donny]]
** Choleric: [[TheChick Raphey]]
** Sanguine: [[TheHeart Mikey]]
* GotVolunteered: As the only other swordsman on the crew (at the time), Leo is quickly co-opted as Zoro's training partner (or sparring dummy). Chapter 53 has Mikey and Donny join him in getting volun-told as Sanji's sous-chef and Chopper's assistant respectively.
* HoldTheLine: Said word for word by Leo when the TDWS decides to hold off the Just Eleven Jurymen to give the rest of the Straw Hats time to reach Robin.
* InspirationalInsult: Donny motivates Leo to learn to cut steel by suggesting that Mikey be his replacement. The student rivalry is what kicks him into high gear.
* TheLadette: Raphey to a degree. She likes fighting and training just as much as her teammates and does not consider herself a lady. But she will not let you forget she's female, either.
* LostInTranslation: Apparently, there's difficulty translating from water-based animal language to land-based animal language, enough so that Soundbite couldn't tell that Raphey was a girl.
* OnlySaneMan: The female Straw Hats frequently fall into this role, and Raphey seems to be no exception. But let it not be forgotten that she supports Boss's "Man's Romance" just as much as Mikey, Donny, and Leo.
** When she loses her temper though, Donny, as TheSmartGuy, usually fills the role instead.
* PinkIsFeminine: Just about the only reason the female Raphey's bandanna is pink and not red like her namesake.
* RangedEmergencyWeapon: The TDWS begins developing their longer ranges as they travel, and pick up secondary weapons to use as such:
** Mikey goes GunsAkimbo with a couple of pistols.
** Raphey uses a FuumaShuriken [[EpicFlail on a chain]].
** Donny goes with [[KnifeNut kunai]].
** Leo eschews other weapons and chooses to practice [[RazorWind flying blade slashes]] as his ranged option.
* TeenageMutantSamuraiWombats: Maybe not "mutant", but they definitely qualify.
* TrainingFromHell: Boss's own training aside, Leo has found himself his own personal hell on account of being the only other swordsman on the crew, cementing his unwanted position as Zoro's daily sparring partner.
** This changes when Brook shows up.
* WreckedWeapon: Leo pulls off the flying slash for the first time when he manages to defeat "Long" John "Silverteeth", but his blades shatter from the force. Though John offers up his swords in replacement.
* YouAreAlreadyDead: Raphey and Leo's first demonstration with their weapons is reminiscent of either Zoro's Lion Song technique or Brook's preferred style.

[[folder: Nico Robin]]
!! "Devil Child" Nico Robin - Bounty: ฿99,000,000

Archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates, formerly the second-in-command of Baroque Works who Luffy allowed a place on the crew after Alabasta, who dreams of learning the true history of the world.
----

* BadassBookworm: She loves nothing more than learning about history.
* TheComicallySerious: After her defrosting, a lot of humor comes from her ''trying'' to remain stoic in the face of the wacky antics of the Straw Hats. Especially since the crew (especially Cross) are less afraid of getting physical with her.
* DefrostingIceQueen: Thanks to Cross's foreknowledge, the crew has no doubts about Robin, and that combined with Cross actively attempting to make her happy results in her seeing the crew as the place where she belongs by the end of the Skypiea saga.
* KnifeNut: She's shown to be quite handy with a ButterflyKnife, even a [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]] one. Robin justifies it as being from the West Blue.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: She and Cross have this relationship post-rescue.
* NiceHat: In canon, she wore cowboy(ish) hats through the Skypiea arc but stopped when they got to Water 7. [[HiddenDepths Said hats are a reminder of her friend Saul and help her remain strong in times of stress.]] Thanks to a talk with Cross, they remain part of her signature look starting after Enies Lobby.
* SelfDuplication: Courtesy of the Flower-Flower Fruit, allowing her to bloom her body parts like flowers anywhere she sees.
* {{Squee}}: If there's anything that can elicit this response from her, it's the chance of finally finding someone to teach her wealth of knowledge to, such as [[spoiler: Vivi and Conis asking to learn the Void Language]].
* TemptingFate: Has done this twice, when she says that things are returning to normal right as galleons start falling from the sky, and saying that they're home free when escaping from Enies Lobby only for Vice-Admiral Momonga to block them.
* TheStoic: She starts off this way. [[NotSoStoic Then the Straw Hats start getting to her.]]
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Eh, sorta. Her talk with Lil is what ultimately dooms the Accino wedding, sparking it into a massive brawl. However, the Accino kids wanted the Straw Hats to sabotage the wedding anyway; the only reason why it was going so well in the first place is that Vivi went into {{Bridezilla}} mode and tried to live her dream wedding vicariously through Lil's.

[[folder: Going Merry]]
!! "White Menace" Going Merry - Bounty: ฿50,000,000

First ship of the Straw Hat Pirates, considered an honorary crewmate, her love for the crew was strong enough that she developed a life of her own. To save her life, she ate the Human-Human Fruit, Model: Child, allowing her to heal from all of the accumulated damage and still travel with the Straw Hat crew, to fulfill her dream of traveling to the end of the Grand Line with them. When the Thousand Sunny is built, her connection with him makes her the perfect choice for the Straw Hat Pirates' helmsgirl.
----

* AstralProjection: Her Klabautermann, a ship spirit, manifests itself in the form of a ghostly child wearing a raincoat and carrying a hammer in her hand. This is how she speaks with the crew prior to her transformation, and how she repaired herself in Chapter 29.
* CodeName: As a Straw Hat confidante and thus privy to the New World Masons, she is given the codename Cottonmouth.
* CuteBruiser: Apparently, a girl with "the proportionate strength of a caravel" makes her strong enough to hammer people into stone walls.
* DidNotThinkThisThrough: When she was prepping the bathhouse doors for the girls' fight with Absalom, she reinforced it to take blasts from wrist-mounted {{Hand Cannon}}s. What she ''didn't'' remember was that they were dealing with a guy who had an extra '''600 pounds''' of muscle willingly grafted onto him—meaning that said hand cannons were much heavier artillery than expected—and that he'd only need to blast the door halfway off its hinges and let the water pressure do the rest.
* ExtremeOmniGoat: Given her AnimalMotif and her nature as a Zoan ship, she can consume a lot of inorganic matter. Her favorite food is ''cloth''.
* {{Hammerspace}}: Merry still has all the storage room she normally does, even while still a little girl.
* HiddenDepths: Merry longs to be with her crew and dreams of sailing the world with them. However, when Cross manages to get a one-on-one talk with her, it's revealed that she's angry at herself for not being as strong as she feels she should be for them.
* HumanityEnsues: Manages to survive her damages by consuming the Human-Human Fruit, Model: Child and [[BecomeARealBoy becoming a real girl.]]
* ItsAllMyFault: Due to the insults of other ships in Jaya, Merry has a HeroicBSOD along these lines at how she's not pulling her weight with the rest of the crew.
* KillerRabbit: A tiny cute innocent-looking girl at first glance... until she starts cussing like a sailor, talking like a buccaneer, and tearing your ass off at the seams.
* [[SirSwearsALot Lady Swears-A-Lot]]: Merry swears a lot more than Usopp was expecting, though Mekao says it's only natural given that a Klabautermann is always surrounded by sailors.
* MachineEmpathy: She has this in spades with Sunny. She helped build him, she put in many hidden supplies and secret switches that she can navigate by heart, she can operate Sunny's very complicated, un-labeled control system with ease, and she's a ship herself, so she can really connect with her big brother in a way few others can.
* MorphicResonance: Her human form has clothes the same color as her deck. And her hair is white except for two brown locks that resemble rams horns. [[ScarsAreForever Merry also has several large scars from the damage she took in the Grand Line]].
* PowerCopying: With how a ship's crew is its heart, Merry's connection with the Straw Hat crew means that she can potentially mimic [[AllYourPowersCombined all of their skills and/or fighting styles through muscle memory]]. Borrowing Franky's skills are how she helped build Sunny after all.
* SecretKeeper: After becoming human, she joins in as a confidant to Cross alongside Zoro, Nami, and Vivi. She justifies this as she already knew everything, seeing as how the meetings had been taking place on her.
* ShapeshifterModeLock: By necessity. Although she still has the power to transform, her ship body is so badly damaged that if she tries, her weight will tear her to pieces in a heartbeat.
* SignatureLaugh: "''Mwahahahaha!''"
* SomethingOnlyTheyWouldSay: When Usopp comes aboard and sees her Klabautermann for the first time, Merry reveals her identity by saying that she was the only one who knew that Usopp dropped pieces of Nami's Clima-Tact in her bilge and had to dive in to retrieve them.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: Thanks to Cross's efforts, she managed to escape her VikingFuneral fate.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: Due to carrying Chopper, Soundbite, and the dugongs for months, she learned how to understand animals even without Soundbite's translating powers.
* SuperStrength: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. The amount of weight she could support transferred with her to her new body, giving her "strength proportionate to a caravel." This doesn't mean much in [[WorldOfBadass One Piece]], but Chopper thinks she can at least handle the mooks.
* TalkLikeAPirate: When her true nature as a pirate ship comes out.
* WalkingSpoiler: The fact that she's even still around post-Enies Lobby makes her a very big one.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Conis]]
!! "Angel of Destruction" Conis - Bounty: ฿77,000,000

Gunner of the Straw Hat Pirates, a former citizen of Skypiea who befriended the crew upon their arrival. Their strength and their easygoing nature, as well as Cross's courage and tales of the Blue Sea, inspired her to set out to sea herself.
----

* AdaptationalBadass: In canon, she could wield a {{BFG}}. In this 'verse, she can do it on the level of the White Beret's ''Captain''.
* AlliterativeName: Having received a formal rank from the White Berets before leaving, she is officially Commander Conis.
* AscendedExtra: A supporting character during the Skypiea Arc, she became a full-fledged member of the crew.
* {{BFG}}: Conis wields one that's literally half her size and weight.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: For all that she is a nice, demure, sweet girl, she is still the one carrying guns big enough to melt your face off.
* CuteBruiser: Living 10,000 meters above the ground naturally makes one stronger due to the thinness of the air. During the G-8 arc, we see this in the form of Conis' physical strength having apparently multiplied by four due to the increased oxygen on the level of the Blue Sea.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: Wiper gives her his Reject Dial after the Skypiea Arc. Even mounted into a bazooka, one use of it just about dislocates her shoulder.
* DepletedPhlebotinumShells: Chapter 53 has Usopp mentioning some special [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]] ammunition for him and Conis.
* GratuitousLatin: How she [[CallingYourAttacks Calls]] her Sky Warfare attacks, specifically the dial-enhanced ones.
** '''[[BlindedByTheLight Pistol Lux]]''': Flash Dial-mounted pistols.
** '''[[KillItWithFire Rifle Incendium]]''': Flame Dial-mounted rifles.
** '''[[StickySituation Shotgun Palus]]''': Swamp Dial-mounted HandCannon.
* GrowingWings: In Merveille, her vestigial Skypiean wings suddenly grow to enormous size in response to Su's suffering. However, due to her unfamiliarity in using them, her flying is cut short.
* NiceHat: As a parting gift from Captain [=McKinley=], Conis is deemed the commander of the White Berets: Straw Hat Pirates division, and receives a white beret as signification of that.
* PistolWhipping: With some training from Boss, she can do this with a ''[[{{BFG}} bazooka]]''.
* PrecisionFStrike: Her reaction to Soundbite's quote saying '''"How about… today is a good day to die?"'''
-->'''Conis''': ''Fuck'' that. It's a good day for ''someone else'' to die.
* SecretLegacy: Her mother, unmentioned in canon, apparently [[spoiler: sailed on the Oro Jackson]].
* {{Tomboy}}: Upon leaving with the Straw Hats, she quickly discovers that she prefers masculine attire to feminine, not to mention the fact that she is, after all, their gunner.
* WalkingArmory: When you're the crew's gunner, are four times as strong as a regular human, and have access to a ''very'' large amount of firepower, this is the logical conclusion.

[[folder:Su]]
!! "Cottontail" Su - Bounty: ฿100,000

A Cloud Fox, a species of fox native to the Sky Islands. Conis' pet and best friend, who joined the Straw Hats alongside her. Although the World Government considers her the crew's pet, her role is more of powder-monkey/fox, with how she helps Conis with her weapons.
----

* [[AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents Amazingly Embarrassing Best Friend]]: As Conis's childhood friend, she has a million embarrassing stories about the Skypiean, and loves to share them at every opportunity.
* BreakThemByTalking: to the Marines during the Enies Lobby arc.
--> '''Su:''' Attention, Marine dipshits! To clarify your current situation, the reason you are fighting against a crew that your bosses know you have little to no chance of defeating is that you are what is commonly referred to in the business as ''fodder''! For those of you who find the truth of your lot in life too disturbing to contemplate, I suggest that your next course of action be to curl up and kiss your asses goodbye!
* CantCatchUp: Has this air after Thriller Bark, when she sees how much weaker she is compared to everyone else, even Soundbite. [[spoiler: To this end, she asks Coo and his fellow gulls to look up something called "the Children of Inari".]]
* LittleMissSnarker: Arguably the most dominant part of her personality. But then, she IS a fox.
* LoyalAnimalCompanion: She's been this for Conis since the day she was born.
* SignatureLaugh: "''Tseeheeheeheehee!''"
* TheSneakyGal: She uses her small size and speed to great effect, whether it be for infiltration, retrieval or sabotage.
* UnorthodoxReload: In battle, she runs around Conis's body, reloading her holstered weapons.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Funkfreed]]
!! Funkfreed

A saber granted life by the Elephant-Elephant Fruit. Formerly owned by Spandam, Cross acquired him by accident during the final fight on Enies Lobby, and with Lassoo's help, persuaded him to join him.
----

* BloodKnight: Just like Lassoo, Funkfreed is a weapon, literally born for battle, and was very unsatisfied with a coward like Spandam for a wielder, which made him more pet than weapon. Cross's emergency use of him on the Bridge of Hesitation was the first real sword fight he'd had in a long time.
* CallingYourAttacks: Thanks to Cross:
** '''[[SpontaneousWeaponCreation Pachy-Charge]]''': Funkfreed goes from sword to hybrid form in a flash as Cross stabs with him, extending his range by a massive amount. Basically the quick version of his canon ''Ivory Dart'' attack.
*** '''[[BladeSpam Pachy-Pede]]''': Pachy-Charge performed as fast as Cross can thrust him, resulting in a storm of stabs from tusks and sword-trunk.
** '''[[MakingASplash Pachy-Riot]]''': Thanks to some Dial modifications, Funkfreed sprays water from his trunk with the force of a riot hose.
** '''[[LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe Pachy-Shield]]''': Funkfreed encircles Cross in his hybrid form which protects him from all ranged attacks.
* CombinationAttack: Has two.
** With Soundbite, he can perform the '''[[VibroWeapon Gastro-Pachy Combo: Treble Blade]]''' move, where Soundbite makes his extending blade vibrate enough to allow him to cut through anything.
** With Lassoo, he can perform the '''[[SmokeOut Pachy-Cani Combo: Superhot Hell Riot]]''', where the two fire their respective elemental Dial attacks (Pachy-Riot and [[PlayingWithFire Cani-Palm]]) to create a blinding cloud of steam vapor.
* CoolSword: His original form.
* EquippableAlly: Just like Lassoo, he technically belongs to Cross.
* LivingWeapon: Of course.
* MightyGlacier: Besides the raw power that comes from being an elephant, his hybrid form is made of steel just like his sword form. When he starts rapidly transforming in the blink of an eye, he goes into LightningBruiser levels.
* MorphicResonance: Any sort of attire he possesses is from his sheath. When he got a new one, his old harness is replaced with plate mail armor.
* NiceGuy: He's very personable and polite, and given the voice he has only reinforces this.
* SecretKeeper: [[spoiler: Keeps Soundbite's secret regarding Zoro, Nami and Kuma safe]]
* {{Vibroweapon}}: Placing Soundbite on his sword form turns him into this.
* VocalDissonance: He's an elephant that sounds like a mouse. And given [[WesternAnimation/DonaldDuck Carue]] and [[{{WesternAnimation/Goofy}} Lassoo's]] voices, [[WesternAnimation/MickeyMouse there's only one mouse it could be]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Franky]]
!! "Cyborg" Franky - Bounty: ฿70,000,000

The shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates, an [[NinjaPirateZombieRobot unholy cyborg fusion]] of ''ComicStrip/{{Popeye}}'' and ''Film/AceVentura'' from Water 7 and the head of the city's underworld, leading the bounty hunters and ship dismantlers known as the Franky Family. Formerly known as Cutty Flam, apprentice to the legendary shipwright Tom, he discarded his real name in order to remain incognito from the World Government. He became a fan of the Straw Hats long before they reached Water 7 [[spoiler: thanks to the SBS.]] His dream is to build the greatest ship in the world and sail it to the end of the Grand Line.
--------

* CloudCuckoolander: With his eccentricity and his tendency to shout "SUPER!" whenever he can, there's no denying he's an ''odd'' man.
** Especially when you factor in all the personality changes caused by improper drink fuels.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite how he usually behaves, you really, really don't want to get into a fight with him, as Spandam (twice, even!) and assorted Marines found out the hard way.
* {{Cyborg}}: Obviously.
* TheEngineer: He's the one keeping Sunny in shipshape after all.
* MadeOfIron: Both literally (due to being a cyborg) and metaphorically. Seriously, the guy was able to survive long enough to modify himself into a cyborg even after being hit by a sea train.
* MyGreatestFailure: Franky failing to save Tom from the World Government.
* PowerFist: His right hand is mainly used for punching, especially when he reveals its metal skeleton. He later adds some [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]] brass knuckles to it.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: His ''Strong Left-Right Combo'', an upgrade he applied to himself mid-Enies Lobby that turns his arms into a piston-powered punching machine.
* TheDogBitesBack: Spandam was responsible for his mentor's death ten years ago. Present day Franky repays the favor during the Enies Lobby arc, with extensive interest.

[[folder: Thousand Sunny]]
!! Thousand Sunny

The second ship of the Straw Hat Pirates, a three-masted barque built by Iceburg, Franky, Galley-La and Merry to be the King of the Seas, the throne for the King of the Pirates.
----

* AnimalMotifs: The Lion, of course.
* CrazyPrepared: What else would you call installed switches that drop specifically-placed pulleys for the sole purpose of delivering {{Dope Slap}}s?
* HiddenSupplies: During construction, Merry secretly installed a lot of hidden switches and spots around Sunny's body that activate a lot of concealable features, including ropes that can pull crew members all over the ship, a collapsible hibachi grill for Sanji and a WallOfWeapons for Conis, Lassoo and Funkfreed.
* RazorWind: The Leo Fangs, a series of Axe Dials mounted in Sunny's figurehead that can chop through anything directly ahead of it.
* SapientShip: Only just built, and already has developed a personality enough to communicate to a ship-whisperer like Merry.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: Was a brig sloop in canon, but is now a three-masted barque thanks to Merry's involvement in the design process and Cross's intervention on Skypiea getting them enough gold to double the canon budget to ฿400 million. Cross goes over the differences when he first sees him.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Brook]]
!! "Humming" Brook - Bounty: ฿33,000,000

Musician of the Straw Hat Pirates, a [[DemBones skeleton]] reanimated by the Revive-Revive Fruit, he was originally the acting captain of the Rumbar Pirates until they were wiped out and left for dead in the Florian Triangle 50 years ago. He dreams of meeting up with the Island Whale Laboon and playing to him his crew's last song. The Straw Hats met up with him when they entered the Florian Triangle and revealed their connection to Laboon.
--------

* AstralProjection: Is something he can do thanks to the Revive-Revive Fruit. This time, he figures out how to do it before the time skip instead of after.
* DirtyOldMan: Considering how much he's obsessed with ladies' underwear...
* SequenceBreaking: In canon, he joined the crew when the arc ended. Here, he joined the crew when the arc ''began''.
* SharpDressedMan: This is Brook before the time-skip; so he's dressed in a three piece suit and a top hat. They were tattered from over fifty years of wear and tear, but Nami fixed them after he joined the crew.
* SheathStrike: Usopp plans to temper his cane sheath with [[PowerNullifier sea prism stone]] to give him an option.
* SwordCane: His WeaponOfChoice.
* TearsOfJoy: His reaction when Cross reveals the SBS transmitted his music to the whole world, which means Laboon and Crocus heard him and ''know he's alive and coming back''.

!!Unofficial/Temporary Members!!

[[folder: Isaiah and Terry]]

!! Isaiah Swagger and Terry Bear Glove

Two South Birds recruited in Jaya to help the Straw Hats navigate to the Knock-Up Stream, who stick around with the crew for the rest of the Skypiea saga due to their enjoyment of being able to speak.

They choose to remain at [=G8=] following the Straw Hats' escape.
----

* ComicRelief: They were valuable allies for the Straw Hats in Skypiea and Navarone, but this was undoubtedly their biggest role.
* {{Expy}}: They're blatant references to Terry Crews and Isaiah "Advertising/TheManYourManCouldSmellLike" Mustafa, two muscular and hammy spokesmen for Old Spice who more than doubled the company's revenue with their advertisements. At one point, the two of them starred in the same commercials, Isaiah promoting the Swagger scent (and Timber, but that's not important here) and Terry promoting the Bear Glove scent.
** ColdHam: Mustafa's trademark is being cool, calm, and suave, primarily speaking to the ladies while promoting his own attractiveness. Isaiah of the Swagger tribe is much the same.
** LargeHam: Crews' trademark is having NoIndoorVoice and doing over-the-top and very impossible stunts that typically involve him shouting out "POWER!" Terry of the Bear Glove tribe is much the same.
* HamToHamCombat: Virtually every time the two open their beaks.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere:
** The birds ultimately are unable to cope with the Straw Hats' insanity, and choose to stay in Navarone at the end of the G-8 Arc.
** They left Skypiea for a similar reason, as according to Soundbite, the South Birds up there didn't really care about the "power" of their tribes, due to simply being much bigger than them.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Perona]]
!! "Ghost Princess" Perona - Bounty: Unknown
A gothic lolita, one of Gecko Moria's Mysterious Four, and denizen of Thriller Bark. She stowed away on the Thousand Sunny after the Straw Hats beat Moria to get passage to another island.
--------

* AstralProjection: Can leave her body at will.
* BlackSheep: [[spoiler: According to her, her family was very rich and she was the youngest of their many children. However, because of her NightmareFetishist-mindset, she was shunned and bullied by them, causing her to further delve into her mindset to escape them until Moria showed up.]]
* DefrostingIceQueen: She started her stay on Sunny being very aloof to the entire crew, but Nami managed to get her to open up a little.
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: Her room back at Thriller Bark was full of them (which was used to the Straw Hats' advantage to disable her) and then there's her TragicKeepsake Kumacy/Bearsy.
* EmotionBomb:
** Negative Hollows cause despair in their victims.
** In Merveille, she shows off a different version, Positive Hollows, which cause joy instead.
* HiddenDepths: As a former member of a crew specializing in tricks, she's a lot smarter than her bratty exterior would make her seem, such as tanning herself on the Sunny knowing the Marines are looking for a {{Goth}}. After showing off her Positive Hollows, however, Cross deduces her abilities can be further manipulated through "hollowing" things.
* NightmareFetishist: She finds zombie stuffed animals adorable, [[spoiler: which got her bullied by her family.]]
* PowerIncontinence: Unless you are very in tune with your own mind, AstralProjection can cause your [[AndIMustScream spirit (and mind) to slowly drift apart,]] causing forgetfulness, and eventually death.
* RedBaron: Calls herself the "Ghost Princess", which irritates Vivi (an actual princess).
* SupernaturalFearInducer: Her "Horror Hollow", which she uses against Absalom during the Christmas special.
* SuperpowerLottery: With her fruit she can take down almost anybody with one Negative Hollow: not to mention its [[HavingABlast other]] [[AstralProjection powers]].
* TragicKeepsake: Her stuffed bear, Kumacy/Bearsy. (Both names have been used. Kumacy during the Christmas special, Bearsy in Chapter 53.)
* WhenSheSmiles: She is shockingly surprised over Xiao calling her cute and stops short of using a Negative Hollow, opting to use a Positive one on her to make her happier.
