* NotInThisForYourRevolution: The mage who summoned Jeongsu to the Spear World following his death at the hands of Minsu Kim muses that Jeongsu was not the least bit invested in saving their world from the Demon Lord. The only reason he became the Spear Warrior was so he could become strong enough to take revenge on the Sword Warrior before returning home.

* JoustingLance: Jeongsu is able to send word back to the Spear World requesting new and more powerful weapons to help him fight Minsu Kim. The first spear they send back is Heukto, a lance that generates a mechanical horse for him to ride upon. In addition to solving Jeongsu's relatively slow movement speed compared to the other Warriors, the lance itself posseses incredible penetration power thanks to its ability to [[ThisIsADrill rotate rapidly as it thrusts]].
* KnightInSourArmor: Jeongsu goes on and on about how he's only fighting for vengeance for his family and nothing else. But he pays his respects to all of the fallen sailors who sacrificed themselves to help him reach and defeat the Sea Dragon Warrior and is enraged when innocent lives are killed. Minsu notes that for all of Jeongsu's hatred, there's still a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

* HeWhoFightsMonsters: In his efforts to become strong enough to kill Minsu, Jeongsu becomes cruel, bloodthirsty, and single-mindedly focused on inflicting every manner of torture on the man who ruined his life. He winds up becoming even more terrifying than the Demon Lord, whom he revives over and over to use as a training dummy. It's not until the people of the Spear World beg him to stop and promise to help him achieve his vengeance that he relents, leaving him a KnightInSourArmor with a little bit of humanity left instead of an out-an-out monster.

* NotTheIntendedUse: His spears are kept in the Spear World until he summons them, which gives Jeongsu the unique ability among the Warriors to be able to communicate with the Spear World even after he returned to Earth. This ability allows Jeongsu to request the Spear World for more powerful weapons after his original ones fail to do the job.

* ThisIsADrill: Jeongsu gets a new spear called Heukto, a lance designed for frontal assaults via mounted combat. In addition to providing a mechanical horse for him to ride, it's able to spin to penetrate through durable objects like an electric drill. The speed of Heukto's rotation is enormous, to the point of [[spoiler:twisting Uiho's arm until it break and piercing straight through him when all of Jeongsu's previous attacks failed.]]

* BeenThereShapedHistory: It's heavily implied that figures of legend and many other historical figures were past Warriors who returned home and who used their abilities to shape history. Saint Damien, the Faith Warrior of of the 14th century, ended the Black Plague, [[Literature/DonQuixote Don Quixote]] is revealed to have not only been real but was also the Time Warrior of his generation, and many of the Warriors from the 20th century fought for both the Allies and the Axis Powers during UsefulNotes/WorldWarII.

* UnskilledButStrong: His powers make him a nightmarish PersonOfMassDestruction who can cause damage on a scale beyond any other Warrior, [[spoiler: but when he's forced into a fistfight with the Combination Warrior at the end of their battle, it becomes clear that he has no idea how to actually fight without his powers. Cue a brutal NoHoldsBarredBeatdown at the hands of Taeil.]]

* AnArmAndALeg: Jeongsu slices off his limbs when Seungu doesn’t give him the answers he wants.

* StarterVillain: He is the first Warrior Jeongsu Park faces when he returns from the Spear World.

* NighInvulnerability: So long as she has believers willing to sacrifice themselves for her and has faith in her powers, Hana cannot be killed. Even when bound in chains that seal the powers of monsters and Warriors with a stake hammered into her forehead, Hana still will not die.

* SmugSuper: she's absolutely confident in the defensive capabilities of the Giant Shield of Atlas, as even the Demon Lord failed to penetrate it. So she's alarmed when four layers of the shield are quickly shsattered by a single spear toss from Jeongsu and she has to use everything she has to stop it from piercing the final layer.

* PosthumousCharacter: He's no longer active by the events of Season 1, meaning that it's a ForegoneConclusion that he's defeated in Season 2.

* SoleSurvivor: Out of all the Korean Warriors who fought the Fallen Warriors before Jeongsu came back, Junho is the only one who came out alive without life threatening injuries. [[spoiler:In the original timeline, however, the he was one of the three Warriors who lost their lives in the Warrior Crisis, the other two being Dohun Lim and the Taeil Choi.]]

* DespairEventHorizon: After his foster brother Minjae is placed into a coma as RevengeByProxy for Taeil antagonizing the local gangs, Taeil lost all hope in himself and murdered said gangs before committing suicide. Even after being transported to the Combination World, he refused to do anything but sit on a remote island and let himself starve to death until the key convinces him to seek [[RedemptionEqualsDeath to "even the scales"]] by dying for the sake of others.

* UltimateLifeform: [[spoiler:Although he's called the Plague Warrior, his true title is the Perfection Warrior, as his goal is to gather enough resources from the people he's killing to become a "perfect being" capable of wiping out humanity. This turns him into a HumanoidAbomination with {{Kaiju}}-like proportions.]]

The Warrior of the Exorcist World and [[spoiler:the real Hwarang Hong]]. The Exorcist Warrior is a dark brooding hero who resisted the temptations to become a monster in the Exorcist World and defeated its Demon Lord whilst remaining fully human. After coming back to Earth, he chooses to fight against the fallen Warriors terrorizing South Korea.

* FreudianExcuse: He was abandoned at an orphanage by his parents, leaving him with a spiteful grudge against them and the kind of world he lives in where something like that could happen. If he was abandoned in a CrapsackWorld, then he was going to act like someone who deserved to be abandoned. This is his way of coping with his feelings of abandonment.

The Warrior of the Verdant World. Thanks to never having harmed a single life, the Junho was summoned to the Verdant World by its god Yggdrasil and given its powers under the condition that he continues to never harm another life. Once he returns to Earth, he finds himself thrown into the fight again when Minsu rampages and later joins Jeongsu’s team to stop the Sword Warrior.

* ActualPacifist: Never harming another life is what made the Junho qualified to gain Yggdrasil's powers. After receiving it, the he is forced to continue being a pacifist thanks to the rule where he will lose his powers if he harms a life.

* DrivenToSuicide: After his enemies paralyze his foster brother as RevengeByProxy, Taeil murders several of the people responsible before driving a stolen motorcycle into an uncoming train out of guilt.

* FromNobodyToNightmare: The Mareumr started out as a kid living in extreme poverty and became a human-hating sociopath whose disease-related powers are so dangerous, the rest of the world refuses to send aid to South Korea so long as the Mareum is alive. [[spoiler:In one timeline, he almost became a Demon Lord thanks to Seongjun’s help but was beheaded by Minsu before the transformation was complete.]]

* MisanthropeSupreme: The Mareum utterly hates other humans and sees his mass murders as cleaning up a mess. In fact, he was summoned to the Perfection World specifically because of his ability to massacre all of them without hesitation, as [[WhoWantsToLiveForever the denizens of that world had grown tired of their endless lives]].

* SquishyWizard: Subverted. Due to Mareum's tendency to hide unless he's actively spreading his plagues, the Korean military assumes that Mareum's ability to fight directed is limited and try to kill him with ordinary soldiers. Unfortunately for South Korea, Mareum is far from helpless and can use the life force of the people he kills to continually regenerate and retaliate with poisonous and explosive attacks.

* ForWantOfANail: [[spoiler: In several timelines, it’s shown that all the fallen Warriors wouldn’t have fell if they had somebody who empathized with them and gave them a helping hand when they needed it. Like Jiseong handling his grief over his grandmother’s passing in a healthier way because he had Seongjun to lean on during his time of need. Or Hana becoming a better more altruistic person because she had Seongjun by her side, helping her conquer her fears and giving her an opportunity to do real good for others. This goes to show that all the tragedy and destruction they caused could have been avoided if only somebody gave them a chance.]]

* LogicalWeakness: Since his powers revolve around disease, he’s extremely weak to someone who can heal any affliction like the Verdure Warrior.

* TakeUpMySword: [[spoiler:Upon his death, Jiwon tosses away the Metamorphosis Belt to his sister, preventing it from burning up with him and allowing another chosen Warrior to take it up in his place once it's repaired.Seongjun convinces the Belt to choose Jeongsu as its next wielder, giving Jeongsu the edge he needs the defeat the Iron Arm Warrior.]]

The Warrior of the Perfection World. After committing suicide, the Mareum Yoon found himself in the Perfection World where he was tasked with the goal of killing everyone there. Once he accomplished that goal, he returned to Earth to fulfill his own desire to spread misery across the world.

* {{Foil}}: To the Plague Warrior. Both of them are Warriors who lack martial skill and fighting prowess compared to the other Warriors. But the Junho was chosen for his unwillingness to harm others and used his powers to heal the scars of damaged world. The Plague Warrior was chosen specifically for his lack of compunctions about hurting others so he can massacre an entire world. Junho is a true OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent with a loving family, friends, and teachers, the Plague Warrior was destitute and alone with no one to care for but himself.

* SoleSurvivor: Out of all the Korean Warriors who fought the Fallen Warriors before Jeongsu came back, Junho is the only one who came out alive without life threatening injuries. [[spoiler:In the original timeline, however, the he was one of the three Warriors who lost their lives in the Warrior Crisis, the other two being Dohun Lim and the Combination Warrior.]]

Once an orphaned delinquent taking out his anger at being abandoned the other dregs of society, the Combination Warrior committed suicide to atone for his actions that led to his brother becoming crippled by a biker gang he angered. Instead of dying, however, he found himself in the Combination World and became its Warrior. After returning to Earth, he turns a new leaf and is desperate for a way to make up for his past crimes, finding it when the military needs a Warrior to defeat the Plague Warrior.

* DrivenToSuicide: After his enemies paralyze his foster brother as RevengeByProxy, the Combination Warrior murders several of the people responsible before driving a stolen motorcycle into an uncoming train out of guilt.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: The Combination Warrior is hot-headed, rude, and spiteful. He became a delinquent specifically to spite what he sees as a CrapsackWorld. But even at his lowest, he cares for other orphans and steals money specifically to let them buy better food.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: He expected to live a life as a delinquent until the day he died. But the Combination Warrior is horrified when his foster brother is targeted as RevengeByProxy. As revenge, he beats the entire gang senseless and murders several of them with his bare hands. Then he commits suicide out of guilt, sending him to the Combination World.
* ReformedCriminal: Once a delinquent who regularly stole and assaulted people, the Combination Warrior turns over a new leaf when he came back to Earth.

The Warrior of the Perfection World. After committing suicide, the Plague Warrior found himself in the Perfection World where he was tasked with the goal of killing everyone there. Once he accomplished that goal, he returned to Earth to fulfill his own desire to spread misery across the world.

* BadPeopleAbuseAnimals: When he was a child and before he became the Plague Warrior, he killed a cat just for nuzzling against his leg. And from his expression, it was likely done out of anger rather than starvation.
* TheBeastMaster: He can control animals that are usually known to carry diseases such as crows and any animal he controls can spread his diseases.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: He lived in such extreme poverty to the point he had to rummage through trash for food and was ostracized by his peers for it as well, leading to the Plague Warrior's budding hatred of humanity.

* ForcedIntoEvil: WordOfGod states his powers ensured he was destined to a life of evil. [[spoiler:He was also Seongjun’s first near successful attempt at creating a Demon Lord but was killed by Minsu before the transformation was complete. Later chapters, however, have shown the Plague Warrior always had the seed of evil in him and becoming the Plague Warrior simply allowed him to follow through on his desire to eradicate humanity.]]
