History Characters / TheRedGreenShow

The title character of the show. He's a deadpan, gravelly-voiced everyman who's faced with all the concerns of a middle-aged man in rural Canada. Besides keeping the audience informed on what's going on at the lodge he's the head of, he offers advice to any middle-agers just like him. Played by comedian Steve Smith, who also does comedy tours as the Red Green character.

* RealMenHateAffection: He once failed to guess "Love" in the Possum Lodge Word Game, then implied he knew what the word was all along, but nobody will ever be able get him to say it for as long as he lives.

A motorhead whose biggest love in life is his monster truck.

* {{Eagleland}}: A very patriotic American... except that he's a Canadian living in Canada. Not that's he's aware of this.

* AgonyOfTheFeet: Notably incidents include Bill chopping his own foot with an axe while trying to cut firewood and dropping a large caber log on his foot during the Possum Lodge Highland Games. He's occasionally injured Red's feet too.

* ChronicallyCrashedCar: A RunningGag with the "Adventures with Bill" has Bill constantly damaging Red's Possum Van with his clumsiness. He usually knocks a side mirror off, but he's also done everything from breaking the door windows to pop the tires.

* TrouserSpace: He fits ''everything'' in his overalls.

* UncertainDoom: In the WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue, Red states that he attempted to make a self-heating recliner out of C4 and nobody has seen or heard from him since.

* {{Fingore}}: His hands are missing a couple of fingers thanks to his explosive hobby[[note]]This is applied a bit inconistently, however, as Graham Greene occasionally forgets to keep his fingers folded[[/note]].
* ICantHearYou: Thanks to the fact that he doesn't seem to wear his headphones correctly, he can barely hear anything. Whenever he plays the Possum Lodge Word Game, they don't bother to have him cover up his ears.

* BeastialityIsDepraved: Implied in the setup to one his educational cartoons. Red asks in a worried tone if it's a video of Gord and small animals. Gord simply says "those aren't for company" with no further elaboration.

* DiscoDan: Gord was posted to his ranger station in the late 1970s and doesn't realize how much pop culture changed since then. He thinks musical acts like Music/CaptainAndTennille are still popular and TV shows like Series/WelcomeBackKotter are still on the air.

* NeverLiveItDown: An InUniverse example. People keep bringing up his criminal past...usually because he's still committing petty crimes like stealing their wallets.

* AmbiguousDisorder: He has a number of {{Verbal Tic}}s, occasionally has strange twitches, becomes a blubbering mess when talking about sexual matters, constantly repeats the same phrases several times in a row and occasionally becomes a MotorMouth until Red tells him to shut up.

A not-too-with-it forest ranger assigned to a tower, in which he has been cooped up for 12 years by the time Red finds him.
