* PassingTheTorch: Something Goku tried to do in the original series to no avail, in the ''Erased Chronicles'', he very much succeeds; Gohan takes up his position as the protector of Earth and Goku couldn't be prouder of his son.

Added DiffLines:

*HeroicLineage: As far as Earth is concerned, Goku is the founder of one. His eldest son, Gohan, would go on to become the greatest protector of Earth after Goku's passing, with his second son, Goten, becoming a powerful fighter in his own right. Even his granddaughter shows no signs of being a slacker.

* DotingGrandparent: While Goku hasn't had much time to interact with his only grandchild, his second stint in the living world made it clear he's already quite fond of Pen, referring to himself as her "Grandpa Goku" and promising to spend a large portion of his remaining time on Earth with the child.

Added DiffLines:

* DeadAlternateCounterpart: Goku is this to main timeline Goku. Unlike in the main timeline, where he was revived as a complete cop-out, Goku stays dead in the Erased Chronicles.
* DemotedToExtra: Goku was the protagonist of the original ''Dragon Ball'' series. As the ''Erased Chronicles'' focuses on his eldest son, and Goku is ''dead'' during the entire run of the series, he qualifies. The elder Saiyan does show up and has involvement in the story, but the focus never strays from Gohan and his growing group of companions.

* CostumeEvolution: [[spoiler: Ten years after the events of Majin Buu, Goku manages this while dead. He adopts an entirely new ''gi''; it is primarily green and white, with red boots, black armbands, and white armbands worn just a bit higher up his biceps. It calls to mind both his outfits from the end of the original series as well as Revival of 'F' in the original series.]]

Added DiffLines:

* CommutingOnABus: The author's love of Goku, even though the man is ''dead'' and therefore can't participate in the story, is evident. Whenever Goku can feasibly appear, even as an observer, he does. He has also returned, temporarily, ''twice'' in the story to participate in current events.

* {{Xenafication}}: In the original series, Videl started out as a https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Muggles Muggle]] who learned basic ''ki'' control. This was the extent of her training in the series, and she was an otherwise "stronger-than-average" Earthling. Like Erasa, in the Erased Chronicles, she becomes an incredibly powerful and creative fighter.

Added DiffLines:

The brains behind the brawn that is Majin Bū, Babidi is a wizard from the reaches of outer space who has arrived on Earth with the intention of reviving the aforementioned Djinn. Despite his incredible magical power, he prefers to stay back and leave the heavy lifting to others, and was responsible for the plot from the "Tenka-Ichi Budōkai" Arc until the end of the first half of the series.
----
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: Babidi's existence is no secret, as he is mentioned in the ''story description'', despite the fact that he doesn't appear for a full ''twenty-four'' chapters into the story.
*AliensAreBastards: Babidi is, without a doubt, an absolute asshole. Personality-wise, he's far worse than Bū and only Dābura matches him in callous ruthlessness.
*ArcVillain: Babidi lasted approximately the same length of time as his canon counterpart, but is ultimately responsible for moving the plot of the ''Erased Chronicles'' forward from its more laid back nature into something truly resembling ''Dragon Ball Z''.
*AxCrazy: Babidi is absolutely insane, and the author takes full advantage of this, openly admitting to channeling ''Yzma'' of all people in his portrayal. ''And it works''.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Babidi's earliest scene has him blowing up Spopovich and Yamu without a care in the world, all the while playing it as casually as a superior terminating their subordinate. It sets the tone for how he'll be portrayed in the rest of the fanfic while staying true to the original intention all at once.
*SmugSnake: Babidi takes this and ''runs'' with it, yet his constant sarcasm and condescension may play a role in making him more appealing than his canon counterpart.
*WizardsFromOuterSpace: Quite literally, actually.

* AbsurdlyYouthfulMother: Mother ''and'' grandmother; perks of a Saiyan DNA and a mix being dead for a few decades, Gine still appears to be a young woman.

Added DiffLines:

* OlderThanTheyLook: Gine, despite being old enough to have been a mother of two — with her youngest son having been three years old and her other son at least seven or eight — was young even while she was alive. Due to the dead not aging, her body was restored to its original youthfulness, meaning, despite being a grandmother of three and ''great-grandmother'' of one.

Added DiffLines:

* IntergenerationalFriendship: It works both ways, as Gine as chronologically older than Chi-Chi, yet physically younger, but Gine quickly struck up a close friendship with her daughter-in-law. Being the only female companion Chi-Chi actively has — due to how distant Bulma has been over the past decade — it's certainly healthy for both parties.

Added DiffLines:

*ActualPacifist: Unlike her grandson, who ''will'' fight if its necessary, Gine is unable to fight, lacking the constitution entirely. Due to having to be saved by her mate, she retired from the frontlines.
*BarrierWarrior: Due to her inability to hurt other people, and the fact that she lacks proper combat strength for fighting, Gine developed a penchant for powerful ''ki'' barriers.

Added DiffLines:

Gine is one of the few established female Saiyans, and is the (formerly late) mother of Kakarrot and Raditz. She used to be a member of Bardock's squad, but due to being unfit for battle, retired from the main field of combat. She, alongside the vast majority of the Saiyan race, staged an assault against Freeza in and effort to win their freedom; when their efforts proved futile, she was killed with the rest of her race.

Decades later, however, Gine was revived by Shénlóng,in order to fulfill the quota to make her grandson into a Super Saiyan God, and currently lives with her extended family.
