* TimeAbyss: Several of the Vampires were among the first to be made by Molag Bal. When Serana came out of her tomb, she had no knowledge of the Cyrodiilic Empires, meaning the last she was free was early First Era predating the fall of the Ayleids at the ''latest''. And considering the fact that she implies having been a vampire for some time before, it means Serana, Harkon, and Valerica are Aedra know how old.
** It ''is'' possible to interpret her statement in a less strict manner (as having no knowledge of a new empire out of Cyrodiil after the last one thoroughly collapsed), but that would still put Serana's sealing during the Interregnum in the Second Era -- more than six hundred years before ''Skyrim''.

* TimeAbyss: Even more so than the Vohikar vampires, as he dates from before the fall of the Falmer at Ysgrammor's hand and their taking refuge with the Dwemer. That happened in the ''Merethic'' era.

** Though to be fair, none of that is really criterion for abandoning the ways of the Nords in their eyes and they hold no ill-will towards their fellows for doing it. So it's debatable whether or not that counts as 'hypocrisy'. And also it is a given that the Stormcloaks do in fact revere Shor (as they would naturally do, as he presides over their afterlife). To he Stormcloaks, 'abandoning Nordic tradition' is putting aside worship of Talos and serving the Empire and by extension, their Thalmor allies. And while there ''are'' indeed many Nords who worship the Cyrodilic Nine Divines, there are just as many who worship the Old Nordic pantheon, such as Ulfric himself (given that he was once a Greybeard-in-training).

The leader of an ancient [[spoiler:Snow Elf]] chantry that worships Auri-El, and believed to be enthralled somehow by the Falmer. [[spoiler:Actually, he is the vampire who created the prophecy Lord Harkon is trying to fulfill.]]

* [[spoiler:LastOfHisKind: Well, he is one of the last two who has not become a sightless, feral monster as the Falmer have. After his brother dies, he acknowledges that he may now indeed be the very last, but reassures the Dovahkiin that s/he did not further a genocide - there may be others like him, or the Falmer may one day regain their sentience]].

Yes, [[{{Morrowind}} that Jiub]]. [[spoiler:You encounter him as a soul in the Soul Cairn, not even knowing that he has died until he was specifically told by the Dovahkiin.]] He has finished with his opus but has lost all his pages and requests the Dovahkiin's help for finding them.

* {{Badass}}: Without a doubt, he acknowledges that killing all those cliff racers seemed impossible at the time but did it anyway.

* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: Double Subverted, [[spoiler:while he claims that the Snow Elves were never liked how the Nords portrayed them before they became the Betrayed, he makes it very clear that he does not want to be grouped with Betrayed and would prefer to be called a Snow Elf.]]

* HeelFaceTurn: He finally reveals the reason he was on the prisoner boat in Morrowind. [[He was once a skooma addict who hated himself for killing people just to get his fix. After he was released from prison, he has decided to turn his life around by killing all the cliff racers.]]

* AnticlimaxBoss: By the time you face him at the end of the Legion quest line, he's been hyped up as extremely dangerous and skilled in the Way of the Voice, but he goes down with a solid hit or two from a battle axe. His [[TheDragon Dragon]] is the real threat, though if Ulfric can hit you with his Thu'um, things get real complicated, ''real'' fast. The way the game is set up all levelable [=NPCs=] (which includes Followers and most major characters) are locked at the level at which they first spawn, unlike in ''Oblivion'' or ''Fallout 3'' where they dynamically level up as the player does. Since Ulfric shows up during the introductory cutscene, he's locked at ''level 1'' for the entire game. Galmar, in contrast, puts up more of fight because he doesn't show up until later, and thus is generated at a higher level.

* GoodOldWays: From his point of view, anyway. Like all Forsworn, he keeps to unidentified "old gods" rather than the Nine Divines.

* MushroomSamba: He always has Skooma on his person, which might explain his bizarre, if fairly accurate view of the world.

* IHaveManyNames: Aside from the name you give your character in CharGen, you have the title "Dragonborn" (obviously), "Dovahkiin" (Dragonborn in dragon language), the title "Stormcrown" given by the Graybeards, "Ysmir, the Dragon of The North", also given by the Graybeards, and "Qahnaarin" ("Vanquisher"), given by [[spoiler:Durnehviir]].

* PoirotSpeak: Like Paarthurnax. It seems that Paarthurnax has a better command of the mortals' tongue, because Odie's speech sounds kinda stilted. Of course, Paarthurnax has been interacting with the various Graybeards over the millennia, while Odahviing has been a pile of bones entombed in a dragon burial mound and probably didn't interact with mortals much beyond domination before the Dragon War.

* ArbitrarySkepticism: Some new person in the hall just killed a dragon then suddenly learned how to make weird stuff happen just by shouting, shortly followed by the Graybeards letting all of Skyrim know they expect the Dragonborn to drop by, and what does he do?

* HumanoidAbomination: Is viewed as one by the Dragons, being a mortal who somehow possesses the soul of a Dragon and is able to permanently kill them, then proceed to use their souls as ''fuel''.
* HornyVikings: A Nordic Dragonborn will find himself embracing many beloved Viking cliches.
* IHaveManyNames: Aside from the name you give your character in CharGen, you have the title "Dragonborn" (obviously), "Dovahkiin" (Dragonborn in dragon language), the title "Stormcrown" given by the Graybeards, "Ysmir, the Dragon of The North", also given by the Graybeards, and "Qahnaarin" ("Vanquisher"), given by [[spoiler:Durnehviir]].

Wife of Harkon, mother of Serana, she is the one who sealed Serana away so Harkon would never find her and complete his ritual. She is so obsessed with her hatred for Harkon, she has lost sight of the well being of her daughter.
