During the Digimon Civil War, Ajax served as one of the rebellion's greatest assets. He was the "Ultimate Dragon Slayer": he was an incredibly skilled fighter, a great tactician, and had tremendous power while in his higher forms. In the closing months of the Civil War, Ajax took command of a group of rebel warriors that became known as the Avengers. He led them on many missions in an attempt to thwart the Dramon Empire's plans and recruit allies. Ajax was the first of the rebels to push Imego's Paladin Mode to its limit, and prove to all that the Imperialdramon wasn't invincible, as he fought him nearly to a standstill.

Ajax is focused and determined; in his methodology, he’s absolutely brutal, though he takes no pleasure from his brutal deeds. In fact, Ajax is a far more reluctant killer than one would think. He has built himself up as the ultimate dragon-slayer and has refused to acknowledge his own past as a dragon; a concept derived from his belief that the Dramon Empire has betrayed him. Nevertheless, Ajax is truly a kind and noble soul, and while he is indeed brutal and merciless, he remains honorable and refuses to be cruel.

The heroic, awesome leader... kinda. He's only that because Ajax said {{Big No}}. Idealistic, fond of speeches, inspirational to a degree and something of a {{Warrior Poet}}, Osiris tries to be a decent guy in a {{Crapsack World}} and gets dragged down constantly by it. Ultimately, his idealism and habit of inspiration speeches only earn him {{What The Hell Hero}}, he suffers with numerous deaths caused under his watch, and this is all on top of his existing dark backstory. When he breaks... it is not good. [[spoiler: And it gets worse.]]

* {{Berserk Button}}: Balion stumbles into this one when he inadvertantly insults Ragna. Osiris chews him out for it to the third degree. [[spoiler: Also, killing Tytania in front of Osiris is a sure way to have him go completely mad and loses every scrap of decency, as Azazel discovers.]]
* CartwrightCurse: [[spoiler:First Isis, then Tytania.]]
* {{Catch Phrase}}: 'Towards our Future!' It's inherited from Ragna and is representive of how Osiris tries to hold up the ideals Ragna established. [[spoiler: He fails. Though {{Your Mileage May Vary}}.]]
* {{Cats Are Mean}}: All of his evolutions are at least feline-themed and are much nastier than his base form. This is why he never fights as Anubismon.

He has the Ancient of Darkness as an evolution and all his evolutions bar one are predominantly black in color, but Osiris is pretty much the most heroic Avenger in Dark Reign (to the point when the name shift to Warbound happens, he still uses Avengers).
* {{Ironic Echo}}: 'The names will be the worst'. Not so much ironic as prophetic... but given what happens between the mentions... they can only be considered ironic for their effect on Osiris.

A psychotic, mutilated Rosemon who wants bloody revenge on Samhain and all who follow him for what was done to her hometown and the wounds she suffered during her fight to try and save that home, Tytania is ax crazy and more. Thanks to Osiris sharing his own experiences with revenge and pain, Tytania begins to balance out and there are hints of chemistry between the two. A charismatic, well-known war hero known for holding fast in the face of overwhelming odds, Bedivere is a heroic, noble knight, accustomed to pulling acts of extreme heroics under the orders of others. However, when thrust into command of the Peacemakers, he is also forced to face his own heroes, the Royal Knights, and initially proves poor against them. Over time he becomes more of a heroic figure able to face up to the knights alongside his fellows, and turns out able to match even Artorius himself. Once he achieves his Examon form Bedivere becomes even stronger, and by the end of the Crusade, is able to face Artorius on fairly even footing. However things take unexpected turns as [[spoiler: Amatsu-Mikaboshi is unleashed, forcing Bedivere to take up the Black Sword and face the terror with his allies. Ultimately they prevail, ushering in a new era of peace with Bedivere the new Lord of the Empty Seat]].

Later he serves as a secondary hero to Bedivere, having established a love interest in the form of Guinier, and a new motivation of a {{Roaring Rampage of Revenge}} against the Royal Knights. This is added to with the addition of a new form, [[spoiler: Dynasmon X, bestowed on him by Galahad when the Knight got his {{Redemption Equals Death}}.]]
Ultimately he is able to atone the shame driving him on throughout, by [[spoiler: helping to defeat Amatsu-Mikaboshi]].

* {{The Atoner}}: Very much Caradoc's motivation and signature point. He wants to atone for the shame his father commited. This motivation, however, weakens as he comes to realize that sins of the fathers don't need to become those of the son.

Since the horizon was where night becomes day, Aker is sometimes said to guard the entrance and exit to the underworld, opening the gates to allow the sun to pass through and for the dead to enter. This also ties in with [[spoiler: his brother]] Kheprius' meaningful name, which is derived from Khepri, who was a solar diety that was said to continually push the sun into and out of the underworld, to explain where the sun goes at night. The two started to form a friendship and they even began working together... just in time for Ragna to die. And to boot, Strom wasn't able to tell Ragna that he was sorry.]]

More recently, when Barachiel stayed behind to protect his mission after [[spoiler: Constantine]] attacked it, [[spoiler: it was attacked again by Nebiros and Sabnock. He was brutally beaten down and, as he lay half-dead and helpless to do anything, the two Beetlemon abducted his mentor and adoptive father, Hadrael, and slaughtered the rest of the missionaries and acolytes, all within Barachiel's earshot. Then later, after the rest of the Peacemakers found him, Michael discovered that the mission had been desecrated with the seven Enochian names of the demon lords, so he was forced to "purify it" (i.e. incinerating the whole mission). As a result, Barachiel was forced to bear witness to his home burning and his family being killed for the second time. His Woobie status was recently amped up to whole new levels. His best friend Caradoc made a [[DealWithTheDevil deal with a demon]]: Caradoc's soul in exchange for Hadrael's location. Barachiel feels responsible for the fact that Caradoc only has one year left due to the fact that he blames himself for letting Hadrael be captured in the first place. When they finally find Hadrael, Dracula horrifically wounds him, leaving mortal injuries. Barachiel tries to help him, but Hadrael dies in his arms after reassuring him that everything was going to be okay, leaving him absolutely devastated.]]
