!Kaiju

[[folder: Tropes Shared by All Kaiju]]
* AcceptableBreaksFromReality: The monsters are able to function because of Yamaneon.
* AppliedPhlebotinum: Yamaneon is a mineral that can manipulate and defy gravity, promote the growth of cells through self-replication, creates and amplifies energy, and creates Kaiju. [[spoiler: It is also an intelligent sentient life form with its own will.]]
* BadassNormal: Most Kaiju only have physical abilities, lacking super powers.
* BloodKnight: Kaiju seem to enjoy fighting, friendly or not.
* EatingOptional: The monsters don't have to eat or drink once they reach maximum size, being able to get all the energy they need from Yamaneon.
* GemTissue: Their cells contain Yamaneon, as detailed above.
* HealingFactor: Most of the creatures can regrow limbs, and it takes just a few hours for a Kaiju to fully recover from injuries.
* InterspeciesFriendship: Too many to list off, but most of the kaiju get along well.
* ImmortalProcreationClause: Because of atomic sterility, Kaiju tend to have trouble procreating.
* LightningBruiser: All Kaiju Are this due to the extreme durability, strength, and ability to move faster than is possible for their size. Once again, the Yamaneon is responsible for this.
* NonMaliciousMonster: The vast majority of the kaiju are perfectly content to stay away from humanity, and some even befriend the humans without any trouble. Sure, they're all dangerous in their own right, but at least they don't all attack everything on instinct.
* MakeMyMonsterGrow: The creatures are able to grow through atomic fossilization, which can either take thousands of years or be triggered by a massive energy source such as a nuclear bomb.
* PapaWolf: If you bring harm to any kaiju's offspring, chances of survival are slim.
* TheSymbiote: [[spoiler:To the Yamaneon, the sentient ApploiedPhlebotinum that gave them their power and size.]]
* TakenForGranite: Upon death, the monsters turn into Yamaneon.

!Kaiju debuting in Volume 1

[[folder:Tyrantis]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1_tyrantis_7.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Lord of Leviathans, King of Typhon Island, Big Green]]

A Retrosaur that resembles the fictional ''Manospondylus Gigas'', albeit much bigger. Despite his intimidating size and appearance, he's one of the most curious and most affable kaiju around. Eager to explore and perhaps make new friends, Tyrantis is trailed by Lerna and company as they all bear witness to the rise of the atomic age of monsters.
----
* BerserkButton: Harming his friends (particularly his human ones), hurting those who cannot fight back in general, and being an all-around jerk in general is enough to get Tyrantis riled up.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Friendly as he is, if you cross any lines with him, you're really in for it.
* BigGood: The defacto hero kaiju of the story, hence the title.
* BlitheSpirit: Of a sort. A lot of the kaiju he meets/faces off against end up friendlier, or at the very least tamer, than they were when he met them. This includes Tyranta, Tricerak, and even the Martian aliens.
* BreathWeapon: He can breathe fire.
* DisneyDeath: Several, particularly at the end of Volume 1, the middle of Volume 2, and the climactic battle against Pathogen.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[NotZilla Godzilla]]. Though his friendliness to humans and more anthropomorphic traits call to mind Film/{{Gamera}}.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Regards almost every being he meets as a potential friend, even humans!
* FurryReminder: Every so often, he'll roll his arms in a circular motion to communicate in a mostly friendly manner, similar to how some lizards do.
* GentleGiant: His first instinct upon seeing a human for the first time? Immediately try to figure out how to calm her down (with little success). In fact, of all the kaiju, Tyrantis is one of the friendliest.
* HappilyMarried: With Tyranta, his mate.
* NotZilla: Comes with being a big fire-breathing lizard.
* OddFriendship: Every single friendship he forms can be considered this, especially the connection he has with Lerna.
* ShipTease: Canon relationship with Tyranta notwithstanding, there are several scenes of him and Bobo getting along exceptionally well. To give you an idea, he met her while she was tending to his wounds and refusing to let him leave until he was patched up. Also, he allows her to babysit Tyrantor.
* ShoutOut: [[NotZilla Take a guess.]] More specifically, he seems to have a lot of the mannerisms of the late Showa-era Godzilla, albeit with the anthropomorphic traits taken up to eleven. WordOfGod has stated that, in terms of personality, Tyrantis takes several cues from [[Franchise/{{Transformers}} Grimlock]], [[Creator/MarvelComics Devil Dinosaur]], Manga/{{Gon}}, and even [[Franchise/DragonBall Son Goku]]. His fighting style, meanwhile, is partially inspired by [[Anime/YouAreUmasou Heart]].
* SuperMode: [[spoiler:He gets super powers from Yamaneon, allowing him to breathe white-hot fire freely, as well as heal, invigorate, and resurrect Kaiju with Yamaneon energy pulses. All his spikes, talons and horns become pure Yamaneon crystal. Doubles as an EleventhHourSuperpower and a HeroicSecondWind.]]
* TRexpy: He's a giant, spiky take on archaic depictions of tripodal tyrannosaurs.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ahuul]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2_ahuul.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350: The Menace of Makeout Point, the Generiton Slasher]]

A vicious pterosaur-like Retrosaur, Ahuul rose from the Underground Valley around the same time Tyrantis did. Unlike him, however, he reveled in terrorizing the humans and trying to eat as many as possible. He is a frequent menace to both man and kaiju thanks to his sadistic streak and ravenous appetite.
----
* DirtyCoward: He will immediately fold if a fight isn't in his favor.
* {{Expy}}: Of Rodan. Though his mannerisms are more akin to the Gyaos. His HeelFaceTurn in Volume 2 is inspired by Kumonga (both worked with former foes to fight aliens).
* FatalFlaw: His sadism. If he weren't such a bloodthirsty monster, he wouldn't keep getting into fights he has no hope of winning.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Despite being a resident of Typhon Island, nobody can stand Ahuul due to his horrible disposition.
* HeelFaceTurn: In Volume 2, Ahuul joins the forces of good, presumably to avoid Tyranta's wrath.
* ThePrankster: A rather mean-spirited variant. WordOfGod states that Ahuul likes to mess with the other kaiju and start conflicts.
* PteroSoarer: Ahuul is a gigantic, aggressive pterosaur-like monster with a toothy beak, clawed wings, eagle-like talons, and both a crest and a long tail.
* {{Sadist}}: His entire combat style. He relishes in causing as much pain as possible for both opponent and prey.
* SmugSnake: Confident and monstrous until he's backed into a corner.
* StarterVillain: The first kaiju that Tyrantis faces.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Although he lives on Typhon Island with the rest of the good kaiju, he's not particularly liked by anyone due to his voracious appetite and sadistic personality.
* ToServeMan: His first scene in Volume 1 is him trying to eat as many humans as he can.
* WouldHurtaChild: Tried to Inflict this Tyrantor. The little one's parents made sure he regretted the attempt.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3a_myrmidant_6.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Myrmidant, The Things, Those Big Goddamn Ants, Them, Asset Myrmidons]]

[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Herant]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3d_herant.png[softreturn]''Herant'']][[/labelnote]]

A horde of ants mutated by the Yamaneon located within the deserts of Yucca Flats, Nevada that got caught in a nuclear blasat. As they did before, they follow a strict caste system in which there are the soldiers (Myrmidants), warriors (Achillants and Ajaxants), and the queen (Herant).
----
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Achillants can observe their foes for any potential weaknesses. Rather fitting for ants named after [[AchillesHeel a warrior undone by a keen eye himself.]]
* BigCreepyCrawlies: Big creepy ants, to be exact.
* EliteMook: Ajaxants and Achillants make up the warrior caste, and are much more heavily built than the cannon fodder Myrmidants.
* {{Expy}}: Of the giant ants from ''Film/{{Them}}''.
* HeelfaceTurn: In Volume 2, after most of them escape Area 51 alongside the other major arthropod kaiju.
* InsectQueen: The Herant. Befitting her inspiration, she's enormous compared to her subjects.
* ThemeNaming: The different ant types are named after figures in Homer's Literature/TheIliad. In order:
** Myrmidants -> Myrmidons, the warriors led by the legendary general Achilles.
** Achillants -> Achilles, the aforementioned great general.
** Ajaxants -> Ajax the Great, a warrior often considered Achilles' equal.
** Herant -> Hera, Queen of the Gods and the biggest supporter of the aforementioned warriors.
* TheSwarm: You see one, odds are many more are behind it.

[[folder:Girtabane]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4_girtabane.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:The Black Scorpion, Asset Girtab]]

A scorpion-like arthropod from Yucca Flats, Nevada, Girtabane menaced the humans around the same time the Myrmidants did, albeit her presence was far more concerning. She is not particularly nice, and will often bully weaker creatures into submission. But despite her arrogance, she holds few grudges, and admires those who have bested her.
----
* BewareMyStingerTail: Like any scorpion, she has a giant venemous barbed tail.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: She's a giant scorpion-like monster.
* TheBully: She likes to attack kaiju it perceives as weaker.
* {{Expy}}: Of ''Film/TheBlackScorpion'', right down to having the same nickname and a NightmareFace similar to the one her inspiration did. Unlike that one though, it's less humanoid. WordOfGod states that another inspiration was Sasori, a scorpion-like kaiju featured only in the young adult Godzilla books by Scott Ciencin.
%%* HeelFaceTurn: In Book 2, after escaping Area 51 alongside most of the other arthropod kaiju.
* MultipleChoicePast: It is unknown if Girtabane was mutated by radiation like the Myrmidants or was living in the Yamaneon tunnels.
* OddFriendship: After an initial scuffle, she has formed a sort of friendship circle with Chlorespa and Mantiresia.
* PoisonousPerson: Has a venemous sting.
* ShockAndAwe: She can channel electricity through her claws.
* StellarName: She's named after a star in the Scorpio constellation.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tyranta]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/5_tyranta1.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:The Bride of Tyrantis, Queen of Typhon Island, Tyrant Lizard Queen]]

Living in the Underground Valley much like Tyrantis, Tyranta is a female member of his species. However, she is twice as aggressive, and will often resort to violence if she's pushed too far. Despite this, Tyrantis fell head-over-claws in love with her, and, eventually, the feelings were reciprocated.
----
* ActionGirl: Not only is she good at standing her ground, she's absolutely brutal when she wants to be.
* BreathWeapon: She can breathe fire.
* DistaffCounterpart: Looks a lot like Tyrantis, is a part of his species, and becomes his mate.
* {{Expy}}: Of Ogra, the mother monster that wrecks London to save her son, Film/{{Gorgo}}.
* MoreDeadlyThanTheMale: She's generally more aggressive and less friendly than her mate.
* MamaBear: Harm Tyrantor at your own risk. Ahuul can tell you all about it.
* MonsterIsAMommy: She's the mother of Tyrantor.
* RedIsHeroic: Unlike Tyrantis, she's mostly colored blood-red, another indicator of her HotBlooded nature.
* NotZilla: Just like her mate.
* TRexpy: She's a giant, spiky take on archaic depictions of tripodal tyrannosaurs.

[[folder:The Terror, [=MechaTyrantis=]]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/6a_the_terror.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Tyrantis' Rival, the Blue Tyrantis]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:MechaTyrantis]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/6b_mecha_tyrantis.png[softreturn]''Mecha Tyrantis, Mechantis, Project Thunderchild Mk 1'']][[/labelnote]]

Another member of Tyrantis' species. But this one is everything our green hero isn't. Violent, sadistic, and prone to hurting everyone in his path, the Terror is an appropriate name for the one kaiju Tyrantis can barely stand. But circumstances led to the Terror being nearly killed, captured by humans, and turned into the cybernetic abomination known as [=MechaTyrantis=], which was designed to kill kaiju. After that failed, he was upgraded into Super [=MechaTyrantis=], now more machine than beast.
----
* BackFromTheDead: After coming back as [=MechaTyrantis=].
* BreathWeapon: He can breathe fire.
* {{Expy}}: Of the various incarnations of [=MechaGodzilla=]. In particular, Cyber Godzilla from WesternAnimation/GodzillaTheSeries.
* NotZilla: Same as Tyrantis, before becoming a Not-MECHA-Zilla.
* TheRival: To Tyrantis, being his nastier, more violent equal.
* TakingYouWithMe: Attempts to drag Tyrantis into the ocean as they plummet out of the sky. Neither die from this.
* TRexpy: He starts out as a giant, spiky take on archaic depictions of tripodal tyrannosaurs, before becoming a cyborg version of this.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tricerak]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7_tricerak_0.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350: The Drunken Kaiju]]

A belligerent herbivorous mutant Retrosaur belonging to the species ''Agathaumasaurus sylvestris''. Tricerak is the way he is mostly due to being the only one of his kind, a fact that causes him no end of grief. To cope with this, he often eats potent Soma berries that cause him to become disoriented and rather irritable. Despite this, Tyrantis still attempts to reach out to him.
----
* DefrostingIceQueen: After a while, Tricerak warms up to his newfound kaiju neighbors, to the point where Tyrantor can ride on his back without any trouble.
* DontYouDarePityMe: He's quick to reject Tyrantis' attempts at comforting him at first.
* DrowningMySorrows: He consumes berries to achieve a drunken state.
* DrunkenMaster: Sort of. His excess berry consumption results in an unpredicable fighting style, but smarter opponents can work around this by letting him tire himself out.
* {{Expy}}: Of Anguirus, particularly how his relationship with Tyrantis mirrors the former's with Godzilla (enemies at first, friends later).
* LastOfHisKind: More pronounced than usual with this one. Tricerak's kind is of a herd mentality. Without a herd, he's consistently stressed and lonely.
* MeaningfulName: His species name is based explicitly of Agathaumus, the first ceratopsian to be fully described, though it is now considred a dubious species to the point of pushing it into obscurity. It was very popular in old paleo-media.
* SourOutsideSadInside: His fierce temper and drunken fighting is the result of years of being the only one of his kind, with the emotional toll that entails.
* TemperCeratops: A ceratopsian kaiju that often gets into fights due to his grumpy and drunken nature.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gorgolisk]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_po29devyby1r6c2kwo9_1280.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:The Serpent Queen, Hypnosnake]]

A serpentine kaiju found at the Serpent Temple, a remote place built almost explicitly for her. Like Tyrantis, she is very friendly to most creatures, and is remarkably intelligent to boot. Sure enough, this makes her a good confidant for the Retrosaur kaiju.
----
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: She's smart enough to figure out a foe's strengths and weaknesses with no trouble at all most of the time.
* {{Expy}}: Of Manda. Personality-wise, she combines elements of Mothra and King Caesar.
* GeniusBruiser: Gorgolisk is equal parts calculating and battle-ready, rarely retreating from a fight.
* GentleGiant: One of the few "safe" kaiju.
* HypnoticCreature: Her frill can change colors to a near-psychedelic degree. This is often used to her advantage.
* PoisonousPerson: Her fangs are packed with potent venom.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mothmanud]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_inline_ogt7agx2ta1r2mmlv_1280.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:The Conquerworm, The Wings of Grim Portent]]

A mysterious kaiju that starts out as a huge grub before turning into a beast that stretches the definition of arthropod. [[spoiler: As it turns out, it is in fact a monster sent by the Beyonder Alliance.]]
----
* CompellingVoice: It can emit a soothing sound to lull targets into a false sense of security.
* {{Gasshole}}: Its larval stage can emit a gas that greatly irritates foes.
* EarlyBirdCameo: [[spoiler: Mothmanud is in truth the first taste of the Beyonder threat that takes centerstage in Volume 2.]]
* HumansAreBastards: A possible explanation for why it goes after humans but not kaiju. [[spoiler: A better explanation is that it was made to be hostile by the Beyonders.]]
* TheMothman: A very clear homage to the cryptid, this one is.
* PsychicPowers: Several, particularly the "terror Vision" attack, in which it's piercing red gaze sends humans into a blind panic. It can also manipulate foes into attacking each other.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bobo]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_po29devyby1r6c2kwo10_1280.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Asset Arachne]]

A giant tarantula-like kaiju found on the jungle island of Green Hell, Bobo at first looks quite intimidating. But in truth, she is among the most caring of kaiju, and will not hesitate to offer assistance to any being that she considers a friend, no matter how big or small. To this extent, the friendship between her and Tyrantis is instantaneous.
----
* BigCreepyCrawlies: A giant tarantula kaiju. Though "creepy" doesn't factor in here at all.
* {{Expy}}: In appearance, one of Kumonga (a GiantSpider), though WordOfGod states that she's mostly based off the titular monster from Film/{{Tarantula}}. In personality, one of Mothra (an explicitly good arthropod kaiju).
* {{Foil}}: To Chlorespa and Mantiresia, the other arthropod kaiju within Green Hell. While they play the deadly BigCreepyCrawlies trope mostly straight, she's a complete aversion in terms of personality.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Cares for injured kaiju and regards humans with nothing but patience and curiosity.
* GentleGiant: Only Tyrantis compares to her caring attitude when it comes to most beings.
* GiantSpider: And a surprisingly benevolent one too.
* MartialPacifist: Although she loathes to fight, she will not hesitate to use her sticky webs to subdue rogue kaiju.
* TheMedic: If a fellow kaiju is injured, she will rush to try and tend to them.
* NiceGirl: She's the gentlest kaiju around.
* OddNameOut: Out of all the kaiju in the first volume, "Bobo" stands out as somewhat mundane and comical at the same time. Fittingly, it was Gwen who named her.
* PinkIsFeminine
* ReluctantWarrior: She's pacifistic to the point where she'll explicitly avoid combat whenever she can. That's not to say she can't stand her ground at times.
* ShipTease: A very minor case with Tyrantis. Although he's mated to Tyranta, Bobo is one of the few other kaiju that has been intimate with him, particularly their first meeting in which she tended to his wounds while in Green Hell.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Chlorespa]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_po29devyby1r6c2kwo8_1280.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Asset Chloris]]

A giant wasp-like kaiju found on the jungle island of Green Hell. Alongside Mantiresia, she is predatory by nature, and will not hesitate to prey on other kaiju. However, she's fairly middle of the road in terms of aggression, and is largely content with being alone and keeping herself prim and proper.
----
* BewareMyStingerTail: A stinger filled with poison jacked with alkaline, we may add.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: A giant wasp.
* {{Expy}}: Of the giant wasps of Film/MonsterFromGreenHell.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: She and Mantiresia are rarely seen apart from one another. That being said, WordOfGod has stated (jokingly or not) that both she, Girtabane, and Mantiresia are lesbian in nature. Take that however you like.
* PunnyName: Her name is a portmanteau of Chlorion (a genus of wasps) and Vespa (the Greek word for wasp).
* WickedWasps: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. She's certainly aggressive when she wants to be, but other than that, she poses little threat to anything that doesn't provoke her.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mantiresia]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_po29devyby1r6c2kwo7_1280.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:The Deadly Mantis, Asset Tiresias]]

A giant mantis-like kaiju found on the jungle island of Green Hell. Although paired with Chlorespa, she takes a very different approach to hunting, preferring total silence before going in for the kill. Outside of combat, many kaiju are put off by her dour disposition, with the exception of some other arthropod kaiju.
----
* BigCreepyCrawlies: A giant mantis.
* {{Expy}}: Of both Kamacuras and, as one of her nicknames plainly states, ''Film/TheDeadlyMantis''.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Chlorespa. Though WordOfGod has put the heterosexual part into question.
* PunnyName: Her name is a portmanteau of mantis and Tiresias (the blind prophet of Apollo in Greek mythology).
* SlayingMantis: Befitting her natural inspiration, this kaiju is a deadly ambush predator. Though she isn't too overtly aggressive.
* StealthyColossus: Surprisingly, she can ambush foes undetected, and is practically defined by her silence.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Crustakra]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/13_crustakra.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Asset Cancer]]

A crab-like kaiju first seen not too far from Green Hell. Krustaka only ever attacks if things come too close to its turf, where it likes to build large sandy structures. Thankfully, it rarely leaves that which it considers its territory, so any savage beating it has in mind can be easily averted.
----
* TheAloner: By kaiju standards, Crustaka is very anti-social.
* {{Expy}}: Of Destoroyah's Aggregate form.
* HiddenDepths: Crustaka's sand sculptures seem to serve no other purpose than as a hobby for the kaiju. Whatever the case, it seems to take great pride in its constructions, and will attack anything that harms them.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Seems to be some odd combination of crustacean and reptile.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tyrantor]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/14_tyrantor.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Tyrantis Junior, Son of Tyrantis, Prince of Typhon Island]]

The son of Tyrantis and Tyranta. The little guy takes a lot from his old man, particularly his friendliness and curiosity. And sure enough, there's a little fighter in him just waiting to cut loose.
----
* BlitheSpirit: Much like Tyrantis, he tends to bring out the best in the other kaiju (except Ahuul, of course).
* CheerfulChild: Like his father, he's eternally optimistic, perhaps even moreso.
* {{Expy}}: Of all of Godzilla's children, like Minya and Godzilla Junior.
* FearlessFool: Tyrantor is not one to back down from a fight nor deny a potential friendship. This puts him at risk of being hurt or even killed.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Inherits his father's physical appearence, as well as his friendly disposition and love of figthing.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Crocogon]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/15_crocogon1.png]]

A crocodilian Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.
----
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Although he doesn't start fights, he WILL end them. He'll make sure nobody thinks of jumping him twice with his powerful jaws and solar powers.
* FaceOfAThug: Despite looking rather vicious, he's one of the nicer Retrosaurs.
* GentleGiant: A kaiju of rather even temperment.
* NeverSmileAtACrocodile: Surprisingly, he's a much tamer example than most would think.
* ThePowerOfTheSun: Crocogon's fins can absorb solar energy to either help him heat up or produce bursts of thermal radiation.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bronton]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_inline_oidiakym1s1r2mmlv_1280.png]]

A sauropod-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.
----
* BigEater: Bronton's only conerns are eating and sleeping.
* BreathWeapon: It can emit thunderbolt breath.
* DumbDinos: One of the few Retrosaur kaiju to play this straight. Goes hand-in-hand with DumbMuscle.
* GentleGiantSauropod: Plays this mostly straight, though his friendliness is more apathy to everything happening around him.
* GiantEqualsInvincible: To give you an idea, his kind was the largest species on Earth without any mutations. Very few creatures pick a fight with this one. And if they do, he hardly pays them any mind while thrashing them.
* {{Sleepyhead}}: Due to his size, he often dozes off to harness more radiation.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Pachydon]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/17_pachydon.png]]

An ornithopod-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.
----
* GracefulInTheirElement: Despite being a lousy fighter, Pachydon is a very good swimmer, and he knows this.
* LethalKlutz: Due to being spooked easily, he might end up running through civilized areas in a panic.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Looks like a combination of outdated depictions of Ornithopod dinosaurs like Parasaurolophus, Hadrosaurus, and Iguanodon. He also has a hardened helmet-like head a la Pachycephelosaurus.
* NervousWreck: Compared to most kaiju, Pachydon is rather anxious and prone to wanting to avoid fights.
* SocialOrnithopod: Like many Ornithopods, his horn is used for communicating and emmiting loud noises. Not only that, but the lack of his own kind makes him rather clingy to other kaiju.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Stegronox]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/18_stegronox.png]]

An ankylosaur-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.
----
* BoisterousWeakling: Sort of. He has very tough armor, and he uses it to scare off potential aggressors, but he's so unskilled in fighting that he uses his intimidating looks as a bluff.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Desires to be a part of what he considers a herd, but his irritating bluster and overly defensive disposition prevent this.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Combines elements of an ankylosaur and a stegosaur.
* PaperTiger: Despite looking and acting fierce, Stegronox is all bark and very little bite.
* ToughArmoredDinosaur: An ankylosaur-like kaiju notable for its extremely tough defenses despite its middling combat skill.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Metringar]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/19_metringar.png]]

A plesiosaur-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.
----
* BizarreAlienBiology: Its "horns" are actually its nostrils, which it utilizes like a snorkel while swimming.
* {{Foil}}: To Tyloton. Both are aquatic predators, but Metringar only attacks out of necesity while the other hunts for both food and pleasure. Also, Metringar is more equipped for amphibious living.
* GentleGiant: A very docile Retrosaur kaiju. However, it may mistake people for prey, so it's best to keep one's distance.
* StockNessMonster: Explicitly based off of a popular depiction of Nessie having odd horn-like structures. Here, they're Metringar's nostrils. Sure enough, non-kaiju varients of this one were found in the Loch in-universe.
* TeamSwitzerland: The most neutral when it comes to regular kaiju conflicts, though it is explictily benevolent.

[[folder:Tyloton]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20_tyloton.png]]

A tylosaur-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.
----
* BloodKnight: The most bloodthirsty of Typhon Island's inhabitants. More times than not, it finds underwater predation not just fulfilling, but pleasure-inducing.
* {{Foil}}: To Metrigar, another aquatic Retrosaur. Both are predatory and GracefulInTheirElement, but Tyloton is far more ravenous and less inclined for moving on land. Metrigar took advantage of this, and subjected the other kaiju to a CurbStompBattle, ensuring Tyloton gives it a wide berth.
* GracefulInTheirElement: Tyloton is one of the most aquatic Retrosaurs around. In the water, it's an unmatched apex predator. Outside, it's rather sluggish and awkward.
* SuperPersistentPredator: If it starts a hunt, it will end it. Most likely in a violent manner.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Allotor]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/21_allotor.png]]

An ''Allosaurus''-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.
----
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: It works out potential weakenesses in foes so that Cerator can act out her strategies.
* BrainsAndBrawn: The brains to Cerator's brawn.
* {{Expy}}: In terms of appearence, to Gorosaurus.
* GeniusBruiser: A kaiju that prefers strategy.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Cerator.

[[folder:Cerator]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/22_cerator.png]]

* BrainsAndBrawn: The brawn to Allotor's brains.
* DumbMuscle
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Allotor.

[[folder:Collosaraptor]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_inline_oj2w9efep51r2mmlv_1280.png]]

A raptor-like Retrosaur that resides on Typhon Island.
----
* FriendlyEnemy: Despite constantly pranking Allotor and Certator, their scuffles never become too violent, and it seems like they're all in on the joke.
* LightningBruiser: Her nimble build and sharp claws make her both quick and strong.
* ThePrankster: Frequently pulls jokes on every kaiju she comes across, especially Allotor and Cerator, to get a rise out of them.
* PunnyName: Her name is a portmanteau of colossus and raptor. It also almost sounds like velociraptor.
* RaptorAttack: Very much intentional. Collosaraptor is, like every other Retrosaur, based off inaccurate depictions of prehistoric reptiles. This means no feathers, pronated hands, etc. That being said, her kind is said to be closely related to birds.

[[folder:Old Meg]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/24_old_meg.png]]

An ocean-bound kaiju that resembles a sort of primitive placoderm fish. Old Meg is a nomadic sort, patrolling the oceans for potential prey. And for her, almost anything that crosses her path is on the menu.
----
* HairTriggerTemper: She's just as violent and bloodthirsty as the sea monsters she most likely inspired.
* MightyGlacier: She has a bite that can shred through steel, though she is not the fastest swimmer around.
* MixAndMatchCritters: She combines elements of sharks and Dunkleosteus, an apex predator of the Devonian period.
* SeaMonster
* SuperPersistentPredator: If she wants something dead or hurt badly, she won't let her slowness get in the way.
* ThreateningShark: She certainly acts the part, though she's actually a placoderm.
* TimeAbyss: She's often considered to be one of the oldest kaiju on Earth.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kutulusca]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/25_kutulusca.png]]

A giant cephelopod kaiju. Despite coming from an aquatic ancestry, it is very much an amphibious sort. Not only that, but it is rather intelligent, and reacts to almost everything with curiosity. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to realize how strong it is, and ends up making more enemies than friends as a result.
-----
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Will never hesitate to check new things out, even in the middle of a fight.
* BioluminescenceIsCool: Communicates through bioluminescent bulbs on its back.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Film/SpaceAmoeba Gezora]].
* ItCanThink: As detailed everywhere else here, this isn't necessarily a good thing.
* KrakenAndLeviathan: More kraken really.
* MakingASplash: Its main weapon is the ability to shoot scalding pressurized water from its mouth.
* ObliviouslyEvil: Reacts to everything with a sort of intelligent curiosity. However, much like a child takes apart insects to see how they work, its means of figuring things out are almost totally destructive and violent.
* WildCard: Kutulusca's curiosity means that it could either leave a fight or turn on its allies unexpectedly.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Burodon]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/26_burodon.png]]

A subterarrean kaiju that may or may not be a Retrosaur. Burodon, as the name would imply, lives to tunnel through the ground, and in the second story proper, he ends up in Tokyo. Should anyone tamper with his merticulous tunneling, they will find that he holds nasty grudges.
-----
* BerserkButton: Disrupt his tunneling and/or his tunnels, and he'll get really mad.
* {{Expy}}: Of Baragon, as well as every other monster that has been conceived utilizing his suit, according to WordOfGod.
* GrumpyBear: A rather tempermental kaiju.
* PunnyName: His name is a portmanteau of "burrow" and "don". In other words, "burrowing tooth".
* SeriousBusiness: His underground dwellings. Any cave-ins caused by people or kaiju will send him into a frenzy.
* TunnelKing: All this kaiju can think about is burrowing and creating elaborate highways beneath the ground. He's so good at it, he can cause the Earth around enemies to turn against them.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kurokame]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/27_kurokame.png]]

A huge tortoise-like kaiju residing in Fujisawa, Japan. Many are still wondering if this thing is a prehistoric creature, as there is nothing in the fossil record that suggests giant tortoises. Nevertheless, Kurokame is a peaceful herbivore, so there is little to fear from him... but be warned. If he wants to go somewhere, nothing can stop him, and his stubborness makes him a threat to civilization at times.
----
* GentleGiant: A calm and herbivorous kaiju that doesn't mind either company or solitude.
* MellowFellow: Most of the time, he's content with his lot in life.
* MixAndMatchCritters: As his name would imply, he combines features of a Galapagos tortoise and a crocodile (though more emphasis on the former).
* MrViceGuy: Unmistakably friendly, but his raw stubbornness when he wants to get from point A to point B makes him a threat to anyone underfoot.
* PunnyName: His name is a combination of the japanese words for crocodile (Kurokodairu) and turtle (kami).
* ShoutOut: WordOfGod states that his roar is identical to that of Film/{{Gamera}}.
* SuperDrowningSkills: A noted poor swimmer, which makes it all the more perplexing that he was first seen rising from Igami Bay.
* TurtlePower: A colossal juggernaut of a tortoise.

A beetle-like kaiju that resides in Japan. In fact, he was the first one found there, and since then, he has become something of a hero to the populace. Indeed, despite his intimidating appearence and unmatched combat prowess, Nastadyne is unquestionably heroic in nature, and will fight the enemies of his land to the end.
----
* BloodKnight: Sort of. He absolutely loves fighting other kaiju, but he will never attack anyone weaker than him.
* AllAsiansKnowMartialArts: Fights less like a kaiju and more like a human martial artist.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: A giant bipedal hercules beetle.
* ChallengeSeeker: Nastadyne's favorite pasttime is searching for worthy foes to square off against.
* CreepyGood: A monster beetle on two legs, yes, but also one of Japan's most beloved kaiju.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: The only kaiju he considers friends are those who have either beaten him or proved to be his equal.
* {{Expy}}: Of Megalon, although in personality he's more like Jet Jaguar.
* {{Irony}}: In the {{Sentai}} shows he's based off of, most monsters like him are villains for the hero to defeat. Here, he's a true hero.
* ShoutOut: His entire character is one to the {{Sentai}} genre, particularly his martial arts-like fighting style, SuperMode, and heroic nature.
* SuperMode: His Burning Justice form, in which he increases his body temperature to make his moves both hit hard and burn foes. However, it is also quite draining for him.

[[folder:Karamtor]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/29_58.png]]

A truly bizarre and huge alien resembling a gastropod that heralds from Venus. It is the first of many aliens that visit Earth in Volume 2, and it's not a very good start. Being a being from another world, Karamtor reacts to many things with hostility and fear, and that's bad when the panicking creature has acid spit and silicon limbs that function like chainsaws.
----
* BizarreAlienBiology: This monster has a hide that's tougher than most kaiju, only breathes sulfuric air, prefers extreme heat, has silicon-like elements in its body that give it its chainsaw-arms, and it can possibly self-fertilize.
* ChainsawGood: Its main weapons are a pair of chainsaw-like limbs made from something like silicon. And they are indeed rotary.
* {{Expy}}: Of Gigan.
* ExtraEyes: Six of them.
* FishOutOfWater: As one might guess, it is far from prepared to handle being on a totally different planet from Venus.
* HollywoodAcid: It can spit digestive juices the same way a fly does.
* MonsterIsAMommy: As it turns out, Karamtor is pregnant when it comes to Earth.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mastemuth]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/30_mastemuth.png]]

A large kaiju that resembles a glyptodont. He was found in Russia, along with other mamalian kaiju. Due to being built like a fortress, and with the size to match, very few creatures can harm him, though he sure loves to harm them all the same.
----
* BloodKnight: Loves to show his supperiority through force, and will often draw fights out just to keep beating his foes up.
* TheJuggernaut: His hard shell makes him hard to hurt, and he's a lot faster than he looks.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Looks like a cross between a glyptodont, a wooly rhino, and, as the name would imply, mastadons and mammoths.
* {{Sadist}}: Seems to delight in bringing the hurt, and dragging out fights just to prove that he's better.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Glypton]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/31_glypton.png]]

A large glyptodont-like kaiju smaller than Mastemuth, and nowhere near as powerful. Despite this, she has her own ways of staying alive, mainly by being completely unpredicatble in both fighting ability and disposition.
----
* InnocentlyInsensitive: It doesn't seem to notice that most of her fights are rather rough, mainly because she views them as simple fun most of the time.
* MixAndMatchCritters: It looks like a cross between an armadillo and a Doedicurus.
* MoodSwinger: It can go from mild-mannered to manic and fight-happy at the drop of a hat.
* RollingAttack: It can curl up into a ball and spin towards foes.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gorale]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/32_gorale.png]]

A rather pitiful-looking kaiju born from Russian nuclear bombing that looks like a cross between a baleen whale and an ape. Gorale looks outlandish even by the standards of most kaiju, and it's easy to assume that it's hopeless in a fight.
-----
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Gorale looks like something made as some kind of sick joke, but [[spoiler: he's also one of the most powerful kaiju on Typhon Island.]]
* BlowYouAway: Can utilize its blowhole to fire a concentrated beam of scalding steam. [[spoiler: This is only its most mundane power.]]
* CowardlyLion: Despite being afraid of just about everything, it will not hesitate to jump into battle if others are in peril.
* FrickinLaserBeams: [[spoiler:It can fire laser beams from his eyes.]]
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Left to its own devices, it has been seen by itself and singing out to companions that are not there.
* TheKlutz: Mostly just runs around flapping its useless flippers and tripping over itself.
* LethalJokeCharacter: [[spoiler:Ends up causing major damage to the Beyonder invasion during the FianlBattle on Typhon Island.]]
* MixAndMatchCritters: A combination of whale and yeti.
* SuperpowerLottery: The atomic bomb that gave it life may have turned it into a comical abomination, but [[spoiler:it also somehow gave it the ability to fly telekenetically and fire laser beams]].
* ShoutOut: It's name and concept stems from [[Franchise/{{Godzilla}} Gojira himself.]]. More specifically, how the big G's name translates to "Gorilla Whale". Turns out, an actual gorilla whale would be a sorry sight.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: It seems to fear things like explosions and bright lights the most. It's more than likely that these trigger memories of the atom bombs that gave it life in the first place.

[[caption-width-right:350:Cuddles]]

A positively awful-looking MESS of a lifeform that was actually several different kaiju once. Then they were caught in nulcear blasts (the first and ONLY time A-bombs were used against kaiju), their collective regeneration spiraled out of control due to all the radiation, and gave rise to a mass appropriately titled what it was: Writhing Flesh. Despite it's horrific look though, it's surprisingly sedimental in disposition, and can be tame if not provoked.
----
* AcidAttack: It can spit acid.
* BodyHorror: It's easily the most disgusting and warped-looking kaiju on the planet.
* BodyOfBodies: It was formed from different kaiju being caught in nuclear bombing.
* DiscardAndDraw: It has no eyes, but it has really good hearing, mainly through sensing vibrations in the Earth.
* FluffyTheTerrible: Due to its mostly benign nature, this living horror show was nicknamed "cuddles".
* ItCanThink: Despite being so utterly alien and malformed, there is a degree of sapient thought going through the Writhing Flesh. It seems to desire companionship, fights to protect other kaiju, and seems almost aware of how messed up it is.
* PoisonousPerson: The barbs on one of its limbs are laced with both haemotoxin and neurotoxin.
* ShoutOut: To the various BodyHorror-laden bosses of the ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil'' franchise.

[[folder:Pathogen]]

[[caption-width-right:350:The Ultimate Pathogen, the Omega Virus, the Eater of the World]]

An absolutely horrible result of mad science, this monster was the result of The Terror's remaining cells being subjected to the Omega strain of the Langsuir, a virus that can reanimate the dead, and seems to have some degree of sapience. While it cannot infect much of anything non-human, the mutated Omega strain managed to possess the Terror's corpse after undergoing several nightmarish mutations. The resulting kaiju Pathogen now exists only to eat all that dare cross its path.
----
* BellyMouth: It has a tendril-filled mouth on its belly.
* BloodyMurder: Can vomit gallons of noxious tainted blood as a weapon.
* BodyHorror: Not as bad as the Writhing Flesh, but its still a mishmashed horror that gets uglier with each appearance.
* DiscardAndDraw: In taking over the Terror's body, the virus lost its ability to spread to other life forms, but it now had the form of one of the most powerful kaiju around.
* {{Expy}}: Of Destoroyah, though WordOfGod states that his horrible personality and violent acts are based off those of Showa Mechagodzilla.
* FeelNoPain: Due to its HealingFactor, it's senses are so muted that pain is no object.
* {{Foil}}: To the Writhing Flesh. Both are BodyHorror-laden abominations found in Russia and brought into the world by human error. However, the Writhing Flesh is mostly benign and can think for itself. Pathogen is just a shell of a kaiju being paraded around by a mindlessly hungry virus.
* HealingFactor: What makes Pathogen so deadly is its ability to heal from almost every wound. [[spoiler: It takes Tyrantis going into his SuperMode to completely annihilate it.]]
* MetamorphosisMonster: Its the way it is because the Omega Langsuir virus had to alter the body just enough for it to be a host.
* NonHumanUndead: The Terror's unsightly mutated corpse being used by the Langsuir virus.
* PuppeteerParasite: The mutated Langsuir virus is calling the shots. The monster is just a corpse at this point.

[[folder:Kraydi]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/35_kraydi.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Asset Pythos]]

A large monitor lizard kaiju living in Yucca Flat, Kraydi was captured and imprisoned in Area 51 to be experimented on. As it turned out, he had latent psychic powers that were only made all the more powerful by the humans' tampering. And with this change came a much more inquisitive and calculating personality to match.
----
* ConstantlyCurious: Due to his heightened intelligence and mind-reading abilities, Kraydi will spend hours observing other beings. It is considered to be somewhat unsettling by humans.
* TheEmpath: Can sense the emotions of others by reading their minds.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: In a sense. He was once a rather peaceful, inoffensive kaiju before Area 51 awakened his potent psychic powers.
* IntriguedByHumanity: Finds humans to be the most interesting to observe, though he doensn't quite grasp how frail they are.
* MindOverMatter: Can lift both himself and other objects with his psychic powers.
* PoisonousPerson: Has a rather weak haemotoxic bite.
* PowerFloats: Kraydi refuses to walk. Instead, he levitates and swims through the air. On occasion though, he has to walk to recharge his abilities.
* TookALevelInJerkass: After getting his powers, he went from mellow and relaxed to antisocial and not too caring of what others think.
* {{Telekinesis}}: Can move things with his mind.
* {{Teleportation}}: Can transport himself to another location, or at the very least the closest approximate to where he'd rather be. [[spoiler: He manages to achieve MassTeleportation with all the kaiju stuck in Area 51, though he [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments ends up transporting them all the way in the sky above Typhon Island.]]]]

[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Click to see her without her helmet]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/36b_minerva_face.png[softreturn]]][[/labelnote]]

A huge human clone created in Area 51 in secret via Yamaneon radiation. Minerva is in fact the result of a nefarious plot to recreate Dr. Mina Lerna with her DNA so that there would be a more subservient version of her for people to control. Thankfully, she turned out to be just as independent on her predecessor, and with the original Lerna's encouragement, foiled her creator's plans.
----
* BladeOnAStick: She wields a double-ended spear made from parts broken off from Mantiresia and Girtabane.
* BornAsAnAdult: She was artificially brought to maturity, with the intellect to match.
* BrawnHilda: Unlike Lerna, she's got a lot more emphasis on muscle.
* CloningBlues: Surprisingly averted. While the reveal of her origins is certainly shocking for all parties, she took it mostly in stride, seeing herself as a completely different person. After a while, Lerna accepted this as well.
* {{Expy}}: Of Nancy Archer from Film/AttackOfThe50FootWoman, as well as all other giant human movies from the 50s/60s. Difference is she's 100 feet instead.
* GeniusBruiser: Minerva was trained to fight like a warrior, but she is also remarkably observant and verbose.
* HumansAreFlawed: Her ultimate view on mankind is that they are ultimately worth protecting, but they fly too close to the sun for their own good at times, and often cause catastrophes in trying to prevent them.
* ItCanThink: Granted, most kaiju can think, but this is the only one capable of speech. Not surprising, as she is a human.
* ShoutOut: Her weapon made from monster parts bears a resemblance to the Insect Glaive of the VideoGame/MonsterHunter franchise.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/37_86.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Asset Prometheus, the Pyromaniac Ape, the Sinister Sasquatch]]

A mutated sasquatch, and one of the captive kaiju in Area 51. The constant experiments run on him have warped him in both body and mind. Now many times bigger than he used to be, Promythigor has also gained a much more insane disposition, as well as an unsettling urge to burn everything around him. And with his newly aquired pyrokenetic powers, he can do just that.
----
* AttackAttackAttack: There is no logic or reason to how he fights. Just "burn and punch and bite until there's nothing left of anything".
* AxCrazy: It's one of the few kaiju who is legitamately mad.
* BeingTorturedMakesYouEvil: The time in Area 51 was not kind to him at all.
* BigfootSasquatchAndYeti: A sasquatch, specifically. And a mutated one at that.
* BloodKnight: Loves to beat his foes into oblivion.
* {{Expy}}: Of King Kong.
* KillerGorilla: Killer giant sasquatch in any case.
* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: Most sasquatches are very shy and gentle creatures. Area 51 turned Promythigor into...something else.
* PlayingWithFire: Has the ability of pyrokenesis. In other words, he can ignite most of what he can see. And he ''loves'' it. So much so that he'll light himself on fire by accident when burning others, and still keep doing it out of sheer euphoria.
* {{Sadist}}: All this guy cares about anymore is fire and pain, especially inflicting all two.
* PrimateVersusReptile: Naturally gets into a brutal fight with Tyrantis. In a unique twist, it's the ape who's the antagonist instead of the other way around. WordOfGod has said that this role-reversal is very much intentional, as he has voiced in the past his dislike of the usual trope.
* PsychopathicManchild: Completely mentally unstable to the point where fire puts him in a state of almost child-like wonder. More fire makes him happy, and that's not good for anybody else.
* {{Pyromaniac}}: This guy loves fire with a capital 'L'. He loves starting fires, setting things on fire, setting living things on fire, and even setting himself on fire.
* ShoutOut: He's one to all giant apes in media, from Film/KingKong to Film/{{Konga}} to [[VideoGame/WarOfTheMonsters Congar]], and so on.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Perhaps even moreso than Ahuul when he becomes a part of Typhon Island.
* TragicMonster: For all of his insanity and sadism, there's still a part of him that wishes for companionship like his sasquatch brethren, but he's since written it off as hopeless. All he has left is the literal fires of hate and destruction.

[[folder:Ullawdra]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/38_2.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:The Red Weed, the Mean Red Weed from Outer Space, "God Mother", Sweet Red Mother of Mars]]

One of the four Martian monsters to arrive on Earth. Ullawdra is very plant-like in both biology and appearance, but it's very clear that this is an animal, albeit a very strange one. Yet despite looking like a plant straight out of Hell, she is considered by the Martians to be one of the most benevolent kaiju on their planet. Then again, that kindness does not quite apply to humans...
----
* AHeroToHisHometown: On Mars, Ullawdra is considered to be a noble and heroic goddess due to how she nurtures the planet and fights off rogue kaiju. Sadly, she's more of a hostile force on Earth, but not enough to be a bad guy.
* CombatTentacles: Her tendrils can lash out rather quickly.
* {{Expy}}: Of Biollante and [[Film/LittleShopOfHorrors Audrey 2]].
* CreepyGood: Despite looking like a nightmarish plant monster, she was revered the most amongst the Martian kaiju.
* GentleGiant: To all Martiankind. To mankind, not so much.
* HealItWithBlood: Not really blood, but her sap has extremely nutritous healing properties.
* MiracleGroMonster: Water causes her to start growing at an exponential rate. Even the smallest pond causes her vines to grow by the bucketload.
* {{Planimal}}: Looks like a sort of plant, but her sapience and other biological oddities constitute her as another creature as well.

[[folder:Kemlasulla]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/39_kemlasulla.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:The Tripod Cyclops, the Whirling Destruction, "Beast God"]]

One of the four Martian monsters to arrive on Earth. Kemlasulla is by far one of the most combat-ready of them, as he has a heavily-armored head and is able to move a lot quicker than he lets on with his unusual shape. Yet despite looking and acting so vicious, he's actually not all that fond of fights to the death, and will often settle for simple sparring matches.
----
* BizarreAlienBiology: For one thing, he's shaped like a tripod with boneless tentacles in-between legs. Also, pretty much all of his major organs are located where his head is. And to reproduce, like all Martian fauna, his kind release spores onto one another.
* HeadBlast: Can fire a blast of kinetic energy from his eye.
* HeelFaceTurn: Long ago, during the great kaiju war on Mars, he found it was a lot more enjoyable to fight other monsters instead of wrecking the weaker Martians. After a while, the Martians attempted to make peace with him, and it worked out.
* TheLeader: Seems to be this unofficially to the Martian kaiju that arrive on Earth.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Described as looking like some kind of cross between a reptile and a cephelopod.
* NoBiologicalSex: Almost all Martian lifeforms are genderless, but he's refered to his his gender for apparently no reason in particular by humans.
* ShoutOut: His design was inspired by the Tripods from Franchise/TheWarOfTheWorlds, albeit a stranger and more biological take on them.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Podritak]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/40_podritak.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:The Flying Frog-ray, "Copper Doom"]]

One of the four Martian monsters to arrive on Earth. Podritak is an advanced form of Martian life, much like Kemlasulla is. However, she is more designed for flying instead of close combat, and she can do so quite well. But she's no pushover either. Get her riled up enough, and she can prove to be a powerful opponent.
----
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Her general strategy is to staying in the air, observing her confused foes, and then going in for a hit.
* BizarreAlienBiology: Many of her features look like they have shrunk over time, like her neck, and her tails are actually three hind limbs fused together. Her tail beams are also fuelled by waste matter.
* ConfusionFu: Podritak fights by generally staying out of an opponents reach, frustrating them and leaving them wide open.
* {{Fartillery}}: The least flattering way to describe her tail beams. Apparently, they are actually coming out of the end of her digestive tract. In other words, she has weaponised her waste.
* ShoutOut: Her design was inspired by the ground-based war machines from Franchise/TheWarOfTheWorlds, though this one is a biological creature.
* SoreLoser: Once her strategies start failing her, she starts to lose her cool, and resorts to panicking to the point where foes can get an easy hit in.
* NoBiologicalSex: All Martian animals are genderless, but she's identified as female for reasons not clear.
* WomenAreWiser: Downplayed as this kaiju has NoBiologicalSex, but she is described as being one of the calmer Martians.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sombarvot]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/41_37.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:The Blue Squid-Lizard, “Wild Steed”]]

One of the four Martian monsters to arrive on Earth. Sombarvot is very similar to Kemlasulla in biology, though he's obviously a very different animal. Aside from not having any special powers like the others, he is very much a sensitive and benign kaiju that fits right at home with most of the other Earth monsters.
----
* BadassNormal: Has none of the flashy powers his cohorts have, but he's still a formidable fighter through his stength and size.
* BerserkButton: Bullies send Sombarvot into a rage due to his tender nature.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Much like Tyrantis, he is usually quite nice, but will attack those who abuse others. However, his beatdowns are much more brutal.
* EmotionalBruiser: Seems to be quite emotionally fragile, particularly when a fight isn't going his way or when he feels threatened. He's also extremely conscious about those surrounding him.
* GentleGiant: The nicest of the Marian kaiju.
* MixAndMatchCritters: As his nickname implies, he looks like a cross between a reptile and a cephalopod.
* NoBiologicalSex: A genderless creature, yet people have described him as male anyway.
* ShoutOut: To the multi-legged giant lizards from Literature/JohnCarterOfMars.
* ShrinkingViolet: The shyest of the kaiju, bar none.

[[folder:Torkenrak]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/42_torkenrak.png]]

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the Beyonder Homeworld. Torkenrak has been in the Beyonder army for the longest time, and has been heavily mutated in order to adapt to multiple planets as a result. What the Beyonders don't seem to notice is that this has left one of their strongest monsters feeling utterly broken inside.
----
* BadBoss: Bullies and threatens his fellow kaiju into working alongside him. And sometimes, he'll leave them for dead to avoid a fight.
* BlindedByTheLight: Can emit disorienting strobe lights from all over his body.
* DirtyCoward: Will turn tail if a fight isn't going his way.
* {{Expy}}: His appearance and constant upgrades (mutations) bring to mind Gigan, minus the metal parts.
* HiddenDepths: Turns out, he just wants a break from his constant fighting, and his cruel exterior is mostly a ruse to keep the Beyonders from suspecting anything.
* IJustWantToBeFree: His ultimate aspiration. However, untold years of being the Beyonders' weapon have beaten this dream into the ground.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Looks like a bizarre cross between a chicken and a deep-sea fish.
* TheSocialDarwinist: To him, there are only those who should die, and those who should work with him so that they don't die.
* WarIsHell: The Beyonders have utilized Torkenrak so much to the point where he cannot think of any non-violent solutions to anything. And apparently he knows this, his time as a weapon having destroyed any hope of personal freedom.

[[folder:Pleprah]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/43_pleprah.png]]

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the Beyonder Homeworld. Pleprah hasn't been quite as mutated as his kin, so he's a greater example of what life must look like where the Beyonders come from. Perhaps owing to this reduced cruelty to him, he's one of the more jovial alien kaiju, and never wastes an opportunity to show others his more artistic side.
----
* AttentionWhore: He positively loves being the center of attention.
* CloudCuckooLander: A rather silly kaiju compared to most others. He likes to dance and sing at any given moment, and he's equally kooky in a fight.
* CompellingVoice: His main asset is his ability to utilize different sounds and vocal alterations in order to lull foes into security. But most of the time, he keeps trying out new vocalizations seemingly just so that he can get more attention, not unlike how a musiscian practices for his performances.
* {{Expy}}: Of the Giant Purple People Eater.
* FightingClown: His means of combat, aside from using his voice, includes acting like an idiot to confuse foes before showing how spry he can be.
* MakeMeWannaShout: He can emit a sonic scream.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: He acts like a goof to throw enemies off.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Googora]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/44_googora.png]]

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the planet Feengup. Googora is an oddball like her partners, but she's new to the cause, and therefore hasn't been mutated. Not only that, but matching her bizarre looks is her personality. She's no fighter, she's a certified teaser who loves to get on everyone's nerves.
----
* BizarreAlienBiology: First of all, she looks like some kind of reptilian robot from a distance. Upon closer inspection, she takes on arthropod elements, her "arms" on the sides of her jaw are actually a pair of antenna, and her legs look like ''human fingers''.
* CombatBreakdown: An almost intentional example on her part. Most fights may start brutal, but then they slowly devolve into comic antics and such. Even when in the heat of battle, she can't help but lighten up the mood.
* DeadlyGas: Can emit a spray of irradiated powder.
* ThePrankster: Seeks to mostly just mess around with other kaiju.
* ShoutOut: To a particular brand of monster-shaped erasers that Cope knew back in the day.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Out of all the Beyonder kaiju, Googora is the least malicious. Sure, she loves to annoy everybody, but to her, a joke should never go as far as really hurting anybody.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ugugular]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/45_ugugular.png]]

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the planet Kwadsim. Ugugular is so completely weird compared to the other monsters at the Beyonders' disposal that they cannot figure out how to genetically modify it. Not that they have to, as it does their every whim without much objection... on the outside, of course.
----
* BizarreAlienBiology: It's hard to describe this one, but the best we got is a giant living plant-like beast with four large muscular legs and four cycloptic snake-like heads/eyes.
* ExtremeDoormat: By kaiju standards, Ugugular is a complete pushover, usually opting to follow whoever is greater in strength at any given time.
* HiddenDepths: In truth, its utterly devoid of pleasure or joy in being so subservient to the Beyonder Alliance.
* HollywoodAcid: Can belch out extremely dangerous acidic bile.
* StoneWall: Very resilient and not a bad fighter either.
* WarIsHell: Years of being one of the Beyonders' most used kaiju have eroded this creature's sense of freedom, choice, and independent thought.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Crimorax]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/46_crimorax.png]]

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the planet Scalim. Crimorax is lucky to not have been modified. In spite of her body being more suited for climbing huge trees instead of being on the ground, she has managed to be a good fighter in the eyes of her masters. However, all of the combat has left her very scared on the inside.
----
* BigCreepyCrawlies: Looks like some kind of giant alien ant/crab thing.
* BizarreAlienBiology: While she looks like a fairly standard monster bug, her mouth is all the way on her tail.
* TheHeart: Surprisingly. She's one of the few kaiju in the Beyonder Alliance who actually has a degree of feeling for her fellow enslaved monsters, to the point of looking after the rookies.
* HiddenDepths: Her vicious combat strategies are a front for how scared she is of the foreign worlds she ends up in.
* LightningBruiser: She has learned to fight fast in spite of her stumpy look on the ground.
* WarIsHell: She is in a constant state of fright due to all of the strange worlds she's forced to fight in.

[[folder:Venora]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/47_venora.png]]

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the planet Scalim. Venora was modified to be more of an aquatic fighter, reducing her ability on land vastly. Despite this, she is very much a capable fighter in both biomes, albeit a very reluctant one.
----
* BizarreAlienBiology: Like Crimorax, an alien from the same planet no less, her mouth is located at the end of her body, not her head. Though this time, it's practically the entirety of the stump that is her lower body. Also, she's been modified so that her "head" can breathe in water.
* DiscardAndDraw: Her mobility on land was mosty traded for exceptional swimming skills.
* HollywoodAcid: She has a duct on her chest that spits acid.
* {{Planimal}}: She combines elements of trees and animals.
* WarIsHell: Just wants to live her own life of peace, but the Beyonders keep forcing her into combat situations.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Zillser]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/48_zillser.png]]

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from Kaiju Factory Planet 6. Zillser was created on a planet bombed to Hell and back with Yamaneon radiation bombs until it got results. Due to having next to no life outside of this, it is one of the easier to control of the Beyonders' arsenal.
----
* TheBerserker: Due to its youngness, Zillser is rather quick to want to fight due to its territorial nature. It will fight to the end in order to regain a sense of safety.
* BreathWeapon: A blast of plasma from the mouth.
* DumbIsGood: Its lack of intelligence actually comes with a much more benign personality when left to its own devices.
* DumbMuscle: Easily one of the strongest Beyonder kaiju, but also the least bright, and therefore more susceptible to egregious error.
* UnskilledButStrong: Lacks any of the real thinking ability most of the other alien kaiju have, but it makes up for that with its great strength.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dorazor]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/49_dorazor.png]]

A Beyonder-controlled kaiju from the Beyonder Homeworld. Dorazor is one of the strongest monsters at the Beyonder Alliance's disposal, mainly because none were so throroughly genetically modified like him. But despite all of this great ability, a century of being a weapon has made him a shell of his former savage self. He'll still fight, but his fighting spirit died a long time ago.
----
* {{Expy}}: Of King Ghidorah.
* DespairEventHorizon: At some point in the 100+ years of being a war weapon, Dorazor just completely lost any and all feeling he had as a fighter. He only ever fights because he has to, and nothing else.
* FrickinLaserBeams: Can fire lasers from his eyes.
* HowTheMightyHaveFallen: Once, he was a terror to even the Beyonders, and then became their most ferocious and powerful kaiju. After a while, he can't even bring himself to be angry at his captors. He's just so spent from all his fighting.
* IJustWantToBeFree: Moreso than any other Beyonder kaiju.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: His greatest dream is to not only permenantly leave the battlefield, but also have companioins to share that freedom with.
* ShockAndAwe: He has taser-like claws.
* WarIsHell: Moreso than even Torkenrak. He's fought for so long that he no longer has any passion nor hope in his heart. He is well and truly ''broken'' by the strain.

[[folder:The Great Beyonder]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/50_the_great_beyonder.png]]

A Beyonder mutated into a kaiju, and the mastermind of the Beyonder Alliance and its invasion of countless planets. Every bit as cruel and calculating as his empire, the Great Beyonder prides himself on his cunning and inperviousness. However, this line of thinking can only prepare him for a great fall...
----
* AliensAreBastards: In a story in which almost all of the alien kaiju are sympathetic, this one stands out as being just pure evil, mainly because he put all of those kaiju in their unfortunate situation.
* AntiClimaxBoss
* BigBadWannabe: [[spoiler: Ultimately gets ursurped in this position by Pathogen after being killed almost instantly after coming to Earth.]]
* {{Envy}}: Absolutely resents any and all kaiju that defy him, mainly because they don't have to handle the Alliance and he has to. Also, he just doesn't like to think anything is stronger than him.
* SmugSnake: The Beyonder Alliance keeps hyping him up, and he is extremely commanding to his enslaved kaiju, but in the end, it's all a front to hide how he's not really all that stronger than the average kaiju. Still, he will put up a fight if push comes to shove.
* TooCleverByHalf: Prides himself on being very smart and calculating, but this hardly matters because it only fuels his ego, and his opponents care not for complex strategies when they can just mostly use their brawn.

!Other beings

[[folder: The Reptodites]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reptodite.png]]

A civilization of lizard-people who have been living in the Yamaneon tunnels beneath the Earth for eons alongside the kaiju. Over time, they evolved to become a civilization based around preserving the world and providing stability. While they didn't mind humans, they knew that they would end up having to face greater threats later down the line.
----
* AdvancedAncientHumans: Ancient humanoids really, but still. These beings have managed to figure out bioengineering and somehow even became aware of outer space way before we did, becoming aware of the Martians and the Beyonders in the process.
* HollowWorld: The underground tunnels they live in, thanks to the Yamneon supply, have been reshaped and recultivated into near-perfect reconstructions of what life was once like around 65 million years ago.
* LizardFolk: Far less malevolent than most pop-culture examples at that.
* MedievalStasis: Reptodite technology is no more advanced than the Bronze Age. However, on the subject of bioengineering and astrology, they're a step ahead.

A large human-operated robot built in Russia. It was designed to fight human wars once, but after the rise of the kaiju, it was given the job of monitoring them instead. It was also made from studying info stolen from the U.S.
----
* AppliedPhlebotinum: This robot is made of Xeno-Titanium, a kind of metal that's much stronger than any real life ones.
* {{Expy}}: Of M.O.G.U.E.R.A., within context. Though WordOfGod states that it was mostly based off of [[Film/PacificRim Cherno Alpha]], being a manually-piloted Russian battle machine. It even looks like that robot.
* HumongousMecha
* PunnyName: Its name is a portmanteau of Herakles (the famous Demigod hero of Greek mythology) and Koschei the Deathless (a villainous figure in Slavic folklore).
* ShoutOut: To the giant clunky robots of the 50s and 60s.

[[caption-width-right:350:Project Thunderchild Mk. 2, the Atomic Automaton]]

A large machine built in America. It has a similar role to the Russian Herakoschei, being a robot that protects the populace from potential kaiju attacks. In fact, it was finshed in order to act as a sort of retort in what can only be described as a mecha-arms race. In the U.S.A.'s defense, Atomoton was in the works the same time MechaTyrantis was, but the emphasis on that project put the robot to the wayside for a while.
----
* AppliedPhlebotinum: This robot is made of Xeno-Titanium, a kind of metal that's much stronger than any real life ones.
* ArtificialIntelligence: Instead of just a human pilot, Atomoton can rely on the Promelion Artificial Pilot Intelligence, or P.A.P.I.
* {{Expy}}: Of Jet Jaguar, particularly in the color scheme.
* HumongousMecha
* PunnyName: Its name is based off of one of the words for a robot, "automoton", albeit with the word "atomic" worked in.
* ShockAndAwe: It has taser claws for hands.

However, he made the mistake of unleashing it on Typhon Island, where the resident kaiju soundly thrashed it. Afterwards, it was put to use to instead fight the Beyonders.
----
* AppliedPhlebotinum: This robot is made of Xeno-Titanium, a kind of metal that's much stronger than any real life ones.
* ArtificialIntelligence: Frightron is piloted by an A.I. called the Cesare Artificial Pilot Intelligence, or CAPI.
* ChainsawGood: More specifically, an arm attachment known as the Kaiju Gutter Chainsaw. And it's shaped like a hook.
* UnnecessarilyCreepyRobot: Murnau seemed to go out of his way to make this robot look as deranged as he was.

* BigCreepyCrawlies: She's a giant scorpion-like monster.
* TheBully: She likes to attack kaiju it perceives as weaker.

%%* HeelFaceTurn: In Book 2, after escaping Area 51 alongside most of the other arthropod kaiju.
* MultipleChoicePast: It is unknown if Girtabane was mutated by radiation like the Myrmidants or was living in the Yamaneon tunnels.

Despite this, Tyrantis fell head-over-claws in love with her, and, eventually, the feelings were reciprocated.
----

Another member of Tyrantis' species. But this one is everything our green hero isn't. Violent, sadistic, and prone to hurting everyone in his path, the Terror is an appropriate name for the one kaiju Tyrantis can barely stand. But circumstances led to the Terror being nearly killed, captured by humans, and turned into the cybernetic abomination known as [=MechaTyrantis=], which was designed to kill kaiju.

[[/folder]]

* PinkIsFeminine

* BigCreepyCrawlies: A giant wasp.

----
* BigCreepyCrawlies: A giant mantis.

* {{Expy}}: Of Destoroyah's Aggregate form.

[[/folder]]

* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Cerator.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Cerator]]

!Kaiju debuting in Volume 2

* SeaMonster

* {{Expy}}: Of [[Film/SpaceAmoeba Gezora]].
* ItCanThink: As detailed everywhere else here, this isn't necessarily a good thing.
* KrakenAndLeviathan: More kraken really.

* {{Expy}}: Of Gigan.
* ExtraEyes: Six of them.

* {{Expy}}: Of King Kong.

* {{Expy}}: Of Biollante and [[Film/LittleShopOfHorrors Audrey 2]].

[[folder:Googora]]

----
* {{Expy}}: Of King Ghidorah.

* AntiClimaxBoss

* HumongousMecha
* PunnyName: Its name is a portmanteau of Herakles (the famous Demigod hero of Greek mythology) and Koschei the Deathless (a villainous figure in Slavic folklore).
* ShoutOut: To the giant clunky robots of the 50s and 60s.

* HumongousMecha
* PunnyName: Its name is based off of one of the words for a robot, "automoton", albeit with the word "atomic" worked in.
* ShockAndAwe: It has taser claws for hands.

[[caption-width-right:350:Professor Panic's Mean Machine]]

A robot designed by international terrorist Dr. Fritz Murnau (or Doctor Panic, as he was known) in order to impress the Beyonder Alliance.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* ShoutOut: [[NotZilla Take a guess.]] More specifically, he seems to have a lot of the mannerisms of the late Showa-era Godzilla, albeit with the anthropomorphic traits taken UpToEleven.
